I stayed one night in this resort. I was unimpressed by the facilities but they were not unacceptable, by any means. The decaying facade and neglected facility had a certain Wes Anderson vibe. The employees, on the other hand, were exceptional. The woman at the front desk took time at the end of her shift to help us find a place to eat, and even retrieved a menu for the onsite eatery, which we chose. The abandoned restaurant didnt look promising but the bartender was knowledgeable and personable, he made excellent food recommendations that showed true knowledge of of the menu. Chef, prepared two perfectly cooked meals that were half the price the were worth. An exceptional night by all accounts and I will be back simply for the interactions with the superb staff, and fantastic meal.
My friend actually lives here in a studio apartment and given the situation she was coming from, this place is literally like living in a 5 star resort (she had to get away from a very abusive relationship with basically nothing but the clothes she had on) They worked with her on everything in order to get her moved in asap!! Rent is very reasonable, includes everything down to free laundry. Nice, friendly, quite neighborhood right on the golf course. To top it off, discounts on all the amenities they offer. Would definitely recommend to anyone, especially if on a budget and/or struggling!!!
Have played once in awhile since opened. Has had many up and downs. Typical old style parkland with long par 4 and 3s, short par fives. Wide fairways. Course in decent shape last few years. Greens and tees good, fairways thin but green. Rough has some dirt areas, common at muni type courses here. My main complaint is they run groups in front of you who dont have tee times. Front nine and back nine. So you dont need a tee time, just show up.
Visited for Golf and didnt partake in the resort. Have played here many times. The course is decent for the price and there are plenty of houses to hit with golf balls. I would recommend
Went there to golf! Course is in decent shape. Fairways and greens are good, you know if you are not. Dirt, dead grass or to talk grass. Great layout for each hole, not easy and not hard. I enjoyed my first time there. Would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quick game. Staff is super friendly!
Inside of suite was nice outside needed a lot of maintenance. Staff super friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again,
The overnight stay was wonderful its a very comfortable, clean, private, quiet, place to stay I would highly recommend to everyone. I was very impressed the bed was so comfortable.. very vivid 19 safe.
Great staff, awesome venue. Just so accommodating and respectful. Great place to catch a little active r&r. The historic feel here is authentic. That being said; this is a very old monument so be cognizant of the fact its a little behind the curve with technology. Its really nothing to complain about. This isnt a social distancing shop you go to stay on phone the whole time. Its a great place to bring friends meet friends (probably leave the kids home and get the you-time you deserve) and for the price, you can comfortably book for the entire week or weekend. Have some fun poolside or on the green and enjoy a festive evening with friend or a romantic evening with him/her at the in-house restaurant or ob of the plentiful local cuisine eateries. The is my absolute favorite destination for good atmosphere and yes the grass is always green on their side of the fence.
If youre into dated motel rooms that smell of old cigarettes then this is the place for you. Its hot in AZ and there was no cold running water in the room. Ice? Youll have to go into the restaurant (when its open) and ask them for ice. Dont show up late like we did at 9pm when the place is completely dark. Luckily we found a sign on the door to call a number. The maintenance man came riding up on his golf cart 10 mins later. Meanwhile 6 cop cars are in the corner of the parking lot with their lights on. According to the maintenance man that wasnt a big deal. Thankfully our room was clean and we had sheets on our bed with 3 pillows. Bed is rock hard. TV didnt work right away - had to unplug and plug the HDMI in for it to work. The room was large and the kitchenette was decent except for the lack of water. Bathroom was big which is also nice. Pictures are very deceiving. Came for a wedding so did not golf there but from what i saw it looked ok. Place was pretty busy on the weekend. Staff was friendly. Would not recommend to anyone.
Absolutely love this place! The swim team used to come down here every year to stay for training trip. Cant wait to get a reunion trip with the boys here again!
Arizona golf resort was very nice but it was for a sad occasion! The food and staff were very good. I would recommend this place for golfing or any special occasion.
Course was in really good shape considering its the end of the summer. Also the only course in the area it appears that isnt overseeding yet. Attention in the Pro Shop was good even though it was through a window.
If your looking for over promising and under delivering. This is the place. Everything is mediocre. Golf is nice the weird outdoor pros shop is definitely a hassle and service is very slow. Made a tee-time via phone a week in advance. Got to the course to check in and the proshop said no reservations was every made. Hopefully youre experience is above expectations.
Well maintained older resort. Great ballroom and courtyard with fountain for any special event.
Positive: The golf cart Negative: This location was closed when I arrived at 7:30 pm. It is old and decrepit.
The hotel room was a little dirty and out dated. The bathroom pluged on us and room service didnt clean our room the second day. The pool area can use my shade and need to be cleaned up..try to keep cold water in the pool water was super hot.
First time here. Course in good shape for fall transition. Pleasant staff. Only knock would be was it was slow play, but i contribute this to a sunday. I would definitely go back.
Pace was good greens were not as good as I thought they would be have to reseeding... But we play their often
We had to go see my friend tonight and this place is really nice. Its well protected with security guards .
Positive: Absolutely nothing. Negative: Update it for the price, plus hotel charges a RESORT FEE absurd. Bed and carpet too old equals Dust mites what a horrible night.
I truly recommend staying at the Arizona Golf Resort not only because it is a peaceful and quiet place but because they also got new play and stay packets and they are the best play and stay packet that any hotel can ever have but the main reason why i would recommend this resort as being the one you pick to stay at is because i have honestly been staying here for a week or a little longer and was up to date with my payments but something happened with my bank card to where i had to cancel the card and due to the cancellation of my card I fell behind on my payments for the room Im currently stay in and I have not been able to make the payments for my room in two days and thank god that when I went to the front office to talk to who ever was working that day and not only did they work with me and are still working with me but they seemed to understand and extend there helping hands to not kick me out mind you Im still coming up with some money in the mean time until my bank issue gets resolved that way I dont end up owing them that much but out of every other place i would strongly recommend for you to try out the Arizona Golf Resort and come see how many good vibes and positive workers they have working here I can guarantee you that you wont regret staying here.
People are friendly at the Pro shop. Quick at booking tee times and price is the best in town!
Great pace to live. Quiet and clean xo
Greens rolling nicely, fairways short, getting ready for overseed. All in all a great deal
DONT STAY HEREThe rooms are filthy.Bedbug bites. They close check in at 6pm!My finger stuck to the AC adjustment button. The do not disturb sign was stuck to the nightstand from some kind of spill. When I flipped it over, a LONG black hair was also stuck to it. A similar long black hair was on the bathroom floor. The light switches, microwave handle, etc, that people touch, have obviously not been cleaned, with buildup and splash marks.I woke up with what appear to be bedbug bites on my left side, and blood dots on the sheets. My feet turned black as night from walking on the carpet. I stay in a lot of hotels for my job, and that never happens.Housekeeping is doing a poor job, especially during a pandemic! They close the office at 6pm, I had to wait an hour to check in!They charge $12 RESORT FEE, when the room and surroundings are beaten, filthy, and old! LOL
Great pace of play for a mid week round. Looks like theyre preparing for overseeding
Staff was very friendly and helpful! Four stars only because our TV didnt work and the toilet ran (facilities are a bit old). We could have told them and Im sure they wouldve tried to fix it but we didnt bother. Location was great for us. Place was clean. Pool was nice. Food was good!
Played golf. Course was in pretty good shape considering. Greens ran true. Friendly staff. Nice old traditional course in Mesa.
Positive: This was not a 4-star hotel Negative: Theres no way this hotel is a four-star hotel more like a one star dont do it
One of the few courses open now, it was in decent shape played quickly and at a fair price. One suggestion, since one person is working the pro shop either move the register closer to the window or staff another person.
Course is in pretty good shape, but the let a 5-some on the afternoon, which this of us behind them are out in the heat much longer than we needed to be. Greens recently punched and are VERY slow, and some nasty dead brown area outside the fairways (maintenance could be better).
No COLD water. Super hot showers. Slow to respond to issues. No amenities available currently. First room ac didnt work.
I was very disappointed in the level of service. First of all, after 6PM it was like a ghost town..there was no employee around. Even during the day, it was difficult to get any service. I called at 9am for sheets and towels, at 430pm I had to go to the front desk where I was greeted in a rude fashion...uh whats your name...I dont know if anyone is here referring if I was going to be able to get towels and sheets. Bottom line, theres a reason they only had 6 rooms rented out. The girls at the front desk should all be fired. The only employee that was helpful...the maintenance guy!! Maybe he should work the front desk...needless to say...HUGE dissatisfaction
This is a tough course to rate. I dont want this average rating to deter someone from going. Its a average course in average shape with a slightly above average staff and priced accordingly. Nothing wrong with that and no major complaints. If it rains this course will not drain for days and you will have little ponds everywhere and mud. Greens were in above average shape. If you rent clubs it is reasonable and a current set of game improvement Cleveland irons and woods. Not what I like to play but many people would be very happy using these. Course is set in a sub division so lined with houses, many that are very shabby. Doesnt effect your game of course but worth noting for those looking for nice scenery as this is not that.
Im going to live there. I love it. Staff is great
Positive: Location to my business travel Negative: This is a classic old golf resort. Nothing but old folks. In need of updating.
Positive: not much...super old, only had golf. Negative: everything was very outdated and under repair
We got to the resort and it was closed @ 9 pm “was not mentioned @booking time” I called the number that was posted on the front window and the maintenance man came to check me in. I got to the room “King Suite” and started to get all my belongings into the room that I needed. I noticed that there was no linens so I tried to call the number from before “multiple times” and there was no answer and no choice for voicemail “I also tried texting” and after an hour I finally got to meet the maintenance man at the front desk where I was given 1 sheet, pillow and blanket. I made do with this and we “my family 2 sons and wife” went to sleep. We woke up the next day and noticed that the room had not been properly cleaned “had old cereal in the cabinet and chips around the trash can and a stain from spilled drinks” I told the front desk at checkout about the issues and I got “I’m sorry” !!! I payed $122 for a 4 star hotel and would have been better off staying at a motel 6. I am very disappointed and wouldn’t give them any stars if it were an option I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!
The staff are really excellent ! You will love to golf stay here.
Our Womens Ministry had an event at the Arizona Golf Resort and Event Center on December 14, 2019. It was a beautiful experience. The accomodations were clean and the decorations were beautiful. The serving staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. The food was delicious and displayed very nicely. Our event went off without complications. I will certainly be back. This was my second time attending an event here and both were great events. I wanted to let you know this time how much I enjoyed it.
Do not recommend. Worst customer service ever, the front desk lady was very rude.. as soon as I arrived at the lobby to check in, no acknowledgment, just two staff chatting away, until I repeated twice that I need to check in. I was also charged for resort fee when I was told all amenities were closed When I checked in and I question the fee all the receptionist could say was “that’s on you if you did not use the amenities” . Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.. no cleaning of the rooms either.. Nothing.. just a bed and shower. Worst than a motel.
The overall stay was a great experience. The room we stayed in was very outdated but comfortable. We had a little mouse in the kitchen area behind the fridge. But we fed him bread so it wouldnt get to our snacks. Lol In our room, we did not have a stove. Kinda weird because they provided pots and pans so wouldve been nice if there had been a stove. Does have a microwave though. The pool area was the highlight of our trip. We had fun and even invited our friends to join us. The service was excellent. Especially with our waitress Ashley. She was very kind and made sure our drinks were coming. Wouldve given then 5 stars if they would update the rooms.
Went last week at like 330 or 4 cant remember. During this time of year it is light till almost 9, plenty of time to play a round. On about hole 11 or 12 one of the cart guys approached us and said we had to skip all the way to 17 because he had to close some gates?!?! I asked the group in front who also got diverted if they ever seen such BS, they said they play here often and never seen this. Idk if homeboii just had a party to get to that night or what but we paid for 18 and didnt have the chance to play 18.
It had a good peaceful feel to it. Also, the rooms were comfortable and clean. The location was nice and beautiful area close to Phoenix and surrounding area. The golf course was a good thing too. Not a great hotel but a good one.
This place is amazing! The staff is super friendly and never hesitate to go above and beyond to insure that customer and tenants are satisfied!!
Going for lessons, I hope they have all said there prayers.
Worse nights sleep EVER!!! The mattress is lumpy and uncomfortable. The decor is eclectic and dated. The carpet needs cleaning. The ac cools off everywhere the bed is not since the ac vents pointed away from bed, no fan to circulate air flow. Consider changing huge ac unit to mini split ac and resurfacing the bathtub, also consider raising the price per night to cover breakfast. Room only had one coffee per day. Most hotels offer two. This is not what I expected from a resort. I would not consider this a resort. No ice maker had to ask for ice. The person working behind the desk, asked if we here guest....uhm how many people walk in off the street asking for ice? Likes: Small Casita, patio lighting, clean.
This is the worst course I have ever played on. There was more dirt in the fairway than grass.
The pictures do not represent the rooms. Dont be fooled. This is a two star hotel at best. Rooms are way out of date. Dirty and stained carpet. Pool and spa not working. The only thing is the food was good and the staff was great. The lady at the front desk was great. The guy not so much. Long story short. WAY OVER PRICED!!! For what you get.
Location is ok! WasDisappointed with the rooms old out dated. Door lock and handle very sloppy. Restaurant and bar area not very impressed. Will definitely not stay here again
Positive: The large suite we received. Negative: The floors were laminated vinyl and when walking on it, it felt sticky but wasnâ€t.
Rooms are nice but do not match the pictures they have on their website. Especially the bathrooms pics show newly renovated bathrooms with walk-in shower and a large tub. Our bathroom had a toilet and a shower that is meant for a wheelchair. Not any kind of look of a 4 star resort. Disappointed especially for how much they charge a night.
Very clean rooms. Private entrances. This is a nice little off/in season gem!
Very nice practice area. Dated pro shop and clubhouse but the have very good selection of merchandise and golf equipment at very reasonable prices. Its a very practical players course.
Positive: Nothing Negative: It was overpriced, the bathroom was dirty the floors were sticky and it was just an old feeling/ looking in general. I wouldnâ€t stay here again.
Photos misleading. this is more of a retirement village than a golf resort. it was probably an awesome venue back in the 70s but there hasnt been many upgrades since then
Well I will first say that we had some issues with are rooms when we first arrived due to the resort doing up grades. They where taken care of fast and we where up graded to a big nice room. We stayed in the back of the resort which was older but still nice and had a nice view. The resort was clean, updated tvs, full area to cook, small pool to chill in at night and the washing machine and dryer are free. Bu the way the washer and dry where stone age old, but where some heavy duty work horses. They did great. I did add some pictures of where we stayed which is kinda romantic and quite. Which I think is great. The AC in the rooms is cold as ice. Everything worked fine. If your coming with a family to stay a week this is a good place to be. We went to the store across the street bought all we needed and ate and cooked iur selfs. Yiu can eat at the resort. Find this place online for a good deal and try it out. Traveling Critic signing off!
Very bad Thanksgiving experience. Insulted by staff for expecting service...overpriced...horrid food. Not what promised.
Facility has huge potential but needs repair. I have stayed twice and love the surroundings and grounds. Rooms are functional, but need updated and both times there were severe issues with doors, keys, and normal functional plumbing, leak evidence in one room and the other had some of the plumbing not even functional. Someone should be checking the rooms they are renting. I will update review in future, but breakfast is awesome, staff is pretty good, and golf course and amenities are nice.
Course still in Sad shape which is a shame, because when maintained it is a nice course.
Really long holes but ok grass cart path only
Positive: The clean!!! It was super clean!!! Negative: Maybe the internet and tv company, we lost the signals every 10 minutes 🤷🠼†â€ï¸
We stayed here for three nights. The room looks dated and there was some issues with it. The toilet didnt work and the doors to the closet are not sliding and were hanging weird. The business center didnt work either. However the staff was super nice, the toilet was fixed and they offered to move us into another room. Very accommodating and helpful. We would come back because of that.
Positive: Nothing Negative: NOT 4 Star. Barely a motel. Very disappointing. Wasted $--
Its cute, quaint and perfect the golf course is nice and they have a Solon and restaurant
I would give them one star of not for how hard the staff works to try to make things right. 1. We were given inaccurate information about the condo, resort, restaurant, pretty much everything. TVs didnt work until the replaced them 3 times. Bed was horribly uncomfortable, so that I actually ended up sleeping on the couch. Pictures are deceiving, things like the nice fountains are shut down and decorations were stagged for advertising photos and not representative of the actual resort. The room was not really clean. Our baby had dirty feet from walking around inside when we just arrived. The food at the restaurant was quite good, but there was no predicting if it would be open for the published hours or not.
This property advertised many hot tubs throughout the property but upon checking in they failed to tell you every single one of them is broken. The pool is ice cold but that I get. It advertised it self nicer than it actually it was.
We couldnt find balls in the ruff, not a good day
Nice course, great customer service
Amazing as always, even with a pandemic going on...
Maria, at the front desk is always smiling and helpful! Breakfast is always hot and delicious! Great sized pool! Spa on site. Rooms are cute and spacious. Theres a decent sized fridge with microwave and sink. Bathrooms are nice. Safes in the rooms. Closet space. Comfy beds. Would definitely stay again!!
I can only comment on the golf but I thought the course and facilities were great. EspeciallyFor this time of the year. Staff was great. The starter (I think Mark was his name) was very friendly and accommodating. Very good value.
Very nice shape for Feb. Green, fast and smooth. Fairways were in great shape. Fair and long. Would recommend.
It’s like playing Russian roulette with this resort. Hit or miss. Stayed for 5 nights, very dated hotel but small update within the resort. Plumbing issue in our room, small gap in the main door, stove not working . Yes it’s not perfect but what was important was the Hotel staff and maintenance crew made it workable for us and tried really hard. A for effort but c for the conditions of the room. Hence my 3 star overall rating . Will come back only if the resort has been resourcefully updated .
This place is very nice and peaceful. Heather was very accommodating and polite, its refreshing. Ill always recommend this resort to everybody I know.
It was in horrible condition...should not have been open.
More than reasonable summer golf rates!
My room just smelled like death.. just pay a little more and visit a known location. The food at the bar was about the only good part about this stay
Not very clean and in need of many repairs. Definitely not a 3 or 4 star as advertised
Stayed 2/27/20-3/1/20. The first room they tried to give us (707) was so run down, its pathetic. The second room was passable, at best. I was severely overcharged by the hotel and Priceline for this. Here is a summary of other issues with the room we ended up in (705):Bathroom lock inoperative2 bulbs outOutlet inaccessible by bedBedroom remote missingDay two, they cleaned the room and left no towels, went to the front desk, they handed us towels to carry back to our own room.do not disturb sign missingSlow shower drainpoor wifi speedsFinally, and most important, 3 of the 5 fire sprinkler heads in the room were out of code because of caulking on the heads.
Food is good one day and not so good the next day. Guess I need to figure out the good day and then ask who the Chef is. :}
It was a great day.
We left the room we couldn’t sleep in it . We had to rent a room somewhere else’s because our room we so stinky if
My wife and I had a single night booked here for our wedding anniversary party. The pictures on the website looked nice and the price was pretty good. Everything was good until 3:30am when another guest received access to our room and scared my wife and I by entering our room and turning on the lights. The person left immediately, but by morning time when we checked out we when to the front desk all we got was an excuse about it being a clerical error and an empty apology. No offer to compensate us for the trouble. Terrible customer service. Will not stay here again. Will not recommend anyone else staying there either.
Golf course friendly to old duffers not to challenging. Green are only so so, fairways could be better for this time of year being peak season. Sand traps also just average.
Strange place! Thats all I got for ya!
Positive: LocTion, size of room, and ease of checking in. Negative: Very dated, shower did not work very well, gutters outside were very loud and did not divert water during the rain, very stuffy room.
We only stayed here 2 nights but enjoyed our time. The room we had was huge but looked very dated. Even though the room looked older it was still very clean and well kept. The property was clean and beautiful and the staff was friendly and always willing to help.
Positive: The staff DID move us to a different room when we told them how bad the first room was. It seemed like they have to do that a lot. Negative: 1st room had a bad odor, gross couch, hard bed, & rotten door frame 2nd room: Bathroom lock inoperative; 2 bulbs out; they forgot to restock towels; and safety was a concern the entire weekend
Thank you Az Gold Resort for an amazing time. We spent 6 wonderful days! Your staff was so friendly and professional! Our favorite part was the beautiful 10 foot deep pool! I hope we get to spend more time here in the future!
About a month ago we went to the luau that the hotel hosted food was good, the the dancers was Amazing.I will definitely try to go to New years eve event.
Nice quiet place to visit and have a relaxing weekend getaway
The place is dated and wasnt clean, sink wa Clogged
Overall, this hotel was disappointing and not as pictured (all of their pictures are taken through a filter and are only of remodeled units that are not offered on hotels.com). Everything was dated, uncomfortable, and inconvenient. The floors, walls, and shower were dingy and several necessary items (the blow dryer) were not working and actually went up in smoke in my wife’s hands. All the appliances were from the early 80s. The fountains are gross and don’t have water in them. When these issues were brought up to the hotels.com staff (I called) they were not helpful at all. Please take the time to view the pictures I have attached and compare them to the pictures posted by the hotel
