My boys had fun but unfortunately we won’t be back. It was extremely overcrowded and a lot of standing around. Way too many kids and different groups going on. I also witnessed a coach allow a 3 year old little girl to try and find her dad & the bathroom on her own. After I saw her walking around alone for a bit I found another coach to help her/keep an eye on her. It all just felt very unorganized, and was a overcrowded chaos. Bathrooms were super dirty as well.
The trainers/coaches here are amazing my girls are learning so much so quickly the class sizes are great and they really help these kids perfect their skills
In the few months Ive been bringing my child to Danik, I have been given misinformation at least 5 times. When I asked to speak to the boss /owner about the disorganization and poor customer service, the little girl behind the counter (who was rude and provided horrible customer service) said she was the manager and refused to tell me her name. She would only refer me to the website when I asked for a telephone number or how to reach the owner. The girl sitting there even admitted she was the one who gave me the wrong information, but the manager refused to assist in any way other than to refer me to the website. She kept contradicting herself and even laughed at me. I have literally never received such poor customer service. Will be pulling my kid and spending my hard-earned money elsewhere.
I’ve been a gymnast here for about four years and I could definitely say Danik is amazing! Their equipment is fantastic, the coaches are great, and it’s really fun to see my friends and still be able to get a good workout!!!
My kids love Danik and the coaches have always been great.
I am very disappointed with Danik. My daughter is 3 almost 4 and started two weeks ago with the preschool group. She was very shy to go with the group when they started stretching. Both instructors (who look like high schoolers that hate their job) didn’t even acknowledge or try to make her feel welcome. So I have to take her hand and walk her over. Observing the class, the instructor blonde gal would show the toddlers like three different moves they are Supposed to do on the little bars and expectsThem to know how to do them all. They hang on the bars looking clueless at her because she’s not actually helping them. You can’t expect Toddlers to know what they are doing in basic gymnastics, The instructor is there to help teach so they learn. They were never encouraging just seemed annoyed the whole time. She kept looking at her Apple Watch at messages constantly and the last 10 min of class, all areas were taken so they just sat there bored and each kid jumps one at a time on trampoline...So unorganized and careless employees and willNever come back or refer.
Please be advised, parents, that if you do not submit a drop form prior to the first of the month, you will be charged the full months tuition for all children enrolled, regardless of participation. Asking for a refund will result in a terse, Tuition is non-refundable. It was stated on the registration form. Sorry! Empathy and flexibility should not be expected as a part of their customer service.
I was visiting danik gym the other evening and i was watching a young lady with long dark hair working with tiny pre school age children.i was very impressed how she communicates with the parents and those tiny kiddos.she is very professional and it shows she is invested in these children.i would also like her to be thanked for her cleanliness.if she didnt have kiddos she was cleaning and that is amazing in this day and age.id love to put my small kiddos in her class but im concerned because some of the other coached are NOT friendly and come off as rude
Unprofessional, rude staff that cant get their policies straight from one week to the next. Unfathomable - worst customer service Ive experienced in recent memory. They dont care about their students or customers. Never returning!
This place is completely unorganized and uses high school kids to teach gymnastics. We have been going here for over a year and have very little positive things to say at this point. The team level instructors are nothing more than high school kids that are generic cheer leaders with no teaching experience. I have heard them saying that their goal is to make each kid in their class cry at least once. VERY concerning. They will make promises to the kids and then on fulfill them because it isnt their focus... what is their focus? Who knows! Kids are left to their own devices to figure out routines or even just learn during the open gym. Training here, if you can call it that, wont lead your kids to be successful gymnasts, but rather playground court jesters. Be very wary of going here.
Very nice coaches, kids cant wait to keep going :D
My daughter enjoyed going there. We had signed up for a class on Fridays (which is listed on their class paper schedule that the receptionist handed me as well as their website). The receptionist urged me to sign up TODAY because the class was filling up. She had me specify the class, the time and the age of my daughter on the paperwork. I received a call a few days later that there was no kindergarten class and I had to take another class. She was rude when I questioned it and blamed it on the new system. If there was such an interest in the class and it was almost full, why does the class all the sudden not exist. It felt as if they were being dishonest and if they dont have the staff to teach the class on Fridays, then just tell me. Dont blame it on the system. I cant believe how rude she was and why am I the bad guy for questioning the fact that I was persuaded to sign up ASAP.
Had my son’s birthday party here and he loved it! Very reasonable price to have the whole place to yourself, plus a convenient party room with fridge/freezer and no ban on outside food. My son also attends weekly classes. While he got bored with parkour after a while, he’s once again enthusiastic after switching to a trampoline class and now ‘tricking’. It’s been a good energy outlet to offset too many hours of video gaming ;-)
This is the best bang for your buck! The kids have a great time challenging their physical abilities. Parents have a fun time watching. We love this place and go often
They do not take injuries seriously. My daughter cut her foot on a beam and the slapped a band aid on it and did not inform myself or her mother until we picked her up and she told us she had a bad cut. The cut required stitches and now my daughter has a scar on her foot. The staff does not care about your children they care about getting your money and them coasting along.
As a parent of a Danik competitive gymnast, Danik is definitely the BEST! Their Junior Olympic program has proven to be the best in the state year after year. Thank you coaches for continuously pushing my kid to succeed in all that she does. Keep up the great work! My daughter wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!
Gym has a bullying problem with girls picking on other girls on the teams. Coaches do not care and do not think its a problem, as opposed to countless parents who have complained. GM Demtry does not care either, when approached for discussion it was clear he had no interest in taking action. They bar parents from practices because they dont want you to see how inept and uncaring they are. When my daughter was injured they asked her if she wanted to be Tough or Quit and go home. They just want your money and for you to not see how they mistreat your children.
My daughter started in rec classes when she was 2 with Dmitry. We would go during the week day mornings and the class size was always great. She is now 6 years old and on the competitive team. I appreciated the Rec Coaches (mostly Rachel for always moving her levels quickly & encouraging her to learn new skills). Now on the competitive team at the beginning level she STILL loves it! They teach her how to doing things the right way. I’ve also ALWAYS enjoyed Renee helping with scheduling Rec classes to helping with anything payment related. Renee has always treated us with a smile & hello for my daughter by using her ‘nickname.’
Weve been taking gymnastics and parkour classes on and off for years. Currently, I bring 7 children ages 5-17 to take their classes for the summer session. My kids all look forward to it. The coaches are knowledgeable and friendly and the prices are affordable. We would recommend Danik gym in Meridian, Idaho to anyone local.
Absolutely terrible place for young children. My son is 3 years old and was just getting started, the instructor (Nadia) was frustrated with him not doing the correct stretches and grabbed his feet and aggressively jerked them to the proper position, later on she was showing him what to do on the trampoline and he didnt do what she was showing him so she physically picked up my son and shook him. I am so upset and livid. YOU DO NOT TOUCH MY KID. This place is terrible and they should not work with kids ever.
Ive been on the competitive girls gymnastics team for 5 years and I love it! The coaches really care about the gymnasts and always push you to be the best that you can be. Thanks for the awesome experience!
It’s a great gym, well maintained large facility.Coaching staff provides organized/structured classes. My daughter has learned so much! By far, the best gym in the state with state championship wins!!!
We love Danik! My son really enjoys the Parkour Class. The coaches do an amazing job of teaching the skills while having fun! My other son loves his gymnastics 1st/2nd Boys Class. He is gaining in strength and skill and has a blast doing it! I only gave four stars because class sizes can get pretty large. I like the smaller classes because each student gets more time with the coaches. I also gave four stars because there seems to be a disconnect between each side of the gym. One side is for the teams and one side is for those just taking classes. You definitely see a difference in performance, which makes sense (and is inspiring)! It has just been unclear the process of joining the teams. Is it purely child and parent driven or is it invitation only? We love going!!
I have been at Danik for 5 years going on 6 and the coaches have always cared enough to push me. They have given me an amazing experience and I couldnt asked for better coaches. If you have what it takes the coaches will give you an amazing adventure.
We decided to try this gym moving from Bronco Elite (which we loved) but we wanted something closer. We heard about Danik and wanted to give it a try. We hated the first session, no instruction whatsoever. They spent 1/2 an hour warming up. then the coach who was a teenage girl who was not interested at all in coaching. Would have the kids follow her but not instruct or coach. I thought maybe it was just the first class. I kept my daughter in it all summer, and it did not improve. Needless to say, when I wanted to cancel, I couldnt do it over the phone. I had to go down in person. When I did...the person that handled cancellations wasnt there...SAVE YOUR MONEY....DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILDREN HERE.
We come for the open gym on Fridays and my two year old has a blast!!! Nice facility esp for a energetic two year old to get her energy out. The staff is always very nice to us!
Birthday parties here are great! 1 hr of play just for the kids in the party and then 1/2 hr in a separate room for cake/presents! Well set up and fun for the kids!
My kids have been going here for years we love this place.
I am 13 and have been taking there parkour classes and love it.
My two boys have attended recreational classes for over a year now. The coaches are good with the young kids, and very patient and motivating with them. I plan to sign up my daughter for the mommy and me class once she starts walking.
We finally got the best and very effective activities for our kids! Our son became a team member just half year ago and we are really impressed with results!Danik boys team is really lucky with their coaches Cort and Luck! Our girl started classes in Danik when she was just 3 years old, and after 1,5 year she is in Advanced Girls!Very professional coaches, nice and friendly! And what is very important for us, parents, is that our kids want to back Danik more and more, they work very hard and become stronger and more competetive!
We have been going for almost 2 Months and our girls love going each week! We have Miss. Deb as one of our teachers and she does a fantastic job with the preschoolers!
Classes don’t always start or stop on time. I noticed they spend a lot of time just standing around waiting for the whole class because the 2nd grade girls (and others that aren’t on teams or advanced) don’t have very much room. I’m currently watching a class of 3 teen girls who have more room available to them than a group of 6 girls get. Almost all of the coaches look like they hate their job. The bathroom are always in horrible condition, and parking is a nightmare. There’s also very little waiting room for parents.
My daughter is on the competitive girls team at Danik and absolutely loves it. Her coaches are very good at getting the results that she strives for.
Our daughter started out in recreational classes at Danik last year, and when team try out announcements were made, she wanted to try. She made it to the Level 1 team. On the first day of practice for the team, I drove my daughter to drop her off. (We were told that its preferred that parents do not stay.) My daughter was 6, so I didnt feel comfortable dropping her off without knowing where to send her. We waited and waited in the sitting area, with no one coming over to instruct us where to go. I had to get back to work (practice was in the morning during the summer, and luckily I work from home so I could drop her off). Finally, I took off my shoes and tried to walk her over to a coach in the work out area. As I am walking with her, I get yelled at, Are you a parent? You need to go wait over there. That did not sit well with me. I complained to the head coach later via email; turns out she was the one who I had the interaction with.To make a long story short, pretty much our entire time on the team went like that. We had very little communication with the coaches--it was all done via email, and never in person. Our daughter had some behavior issues during practice, and we were not told about it until months later. The woman at the front desk is not helpful at all and looks and acts like she hates her job. Im not sure why the folks at Danik dont treat their clients better. To Daniks credit, they do seem to win a lot of competitions, so the coaches obviously know their stuff. We had a couple of personal coaching sessions, and that coach was so lovely and helpful to our daughter. But all in all, the communication is just absolutely horrible. We changed gyms, my daughter is on the team, and she is thriving. She enjoys it so much, and so do we. I have talked to more people (front desk, coaches) in just three weeks than I have in a year at Danik. Danik is just not the place for us. If your child is going for a college scholarship or wants to be in the olympics, then I would suggest Danik. If she wants to have fun, perhaps its not the right place for you either.
Our son started going to Danik Gymnastics, the owner Olga is very helpful and understanding and has an excellent supporting staff.
Revised review: Since my initial review I have noticed a huge improvement in communication. My daughter had a birthday the day before class and the instructor came over as soon as we arrived and said happy birthday. Being 5, she asked if she could try the next class up and they let her give it a shot. Afterwards both instructors spoke to me about it afterwards to tell me where she was at. We are happy with this gym.(Initial review: 3 star) We moved to this gym from another because it was closer to our house. They always start on time and do a warm up with everyone then divide the class up into a more manageable size group of kids. A reason we switched to Danik was my daughters previous instructors wouldnt teach her the right way to execute a move and the instructors at Danik do. It is very organized and planned out what each group will do each time and the last 5 minutes is for free play. One thing i dont necessarily like is that i havent once in 6 months spoken to an instructors. They never introduced themselves to me or have talked to me about my daughters strengths and weaknesses. Her old gym did that and I think it is important.
Coaches on the parkour side are very rude and act like you are not important at all. Also the foam in the foam pit is very old but we all pay to go in there and we pay for the upkeep of the area and this is very disappointing to me because I have spent at least a thousand dollars. It is sad to see this place with amazing capabilities being run by unprofessional people.
Excellent gym - great team coaches!
Kids love their instructors and always want to know when their next lesson is! My middle child is really gaining confidence.
Best place to let your kids get their wiggles out!! Love it!! So much to do!
NEVER EVER GO HERE. Instruction is terrible and the coaches and staff are completely unprofessional. After enrolling my daughter, who is extremely active but has a medical condition that makes her small for her age, her coaches spent the entire summer session belittling her in front of her entire class and mocking her physical size. This was in addition to their general disinterest in coaching and their rude attitude toward every child in the class. The last straw was when they demeaned my daughter and called her a midget in front of her class. When we wrote the manager, he made a vague reference to speaking with the coach and then actually used the phrase these things happen. NO, they do not. Or at least they do not in any organization with proper training on working with children and coaches mature enough to understand the influence they have on the kids they work with.
My daughter has been coming here for the last 4 months. She was promoted to the 5-6 year old class (shes 4 years old) after I asked for her to be moved up a level. The 3-4 year old class is VERY basic with little coaching or instruction. The class sizes are HUGE. Right now, there are ten 5-6 year olds in her class with 2 coaches. Many of the coaches are young and lack enthusiasm; rarely do the coaches in my daughters class provide instruction, correction/feedback, or positive encouragement. While my daughter loves gymnastics, I dont love this facility. Its mediocre at best with limited seating for adults and an ineffective air conditioning system, resulting in an uncomfortable environment for spectators.
Good enough gym but the parking and congestion inside is ridiculous! They could really improve things by having 55 minute classes. Whew!
This is our 2nd year taking our boys to Danik for summer classes. We honestly wish we hadnt signed up for this summer but its the only parkour class we could find. But certainly wont make the same mistake again next year.We have encountered multiple gymnastic coaches who, in my opinion, should not be coaching children. Many of them are not friendly at all and dont seem to enjoy being around children. In addition to comparing the kids to each other and making them feel bad if they make a mistake. The parking is outrageous. There are about 1/3 of the parking spaces they need to accommodate their paying customers. Most of which are taken up by their employees. And if you dont manage to get there super early and snag one of the parking spaces, this leaves you parking on the road. But you cant park close to the building because of no parking signs. So you either have to park across the street and then cross the street with all your kids or park a few blocks away.Last but certainly not least, there is the no air conditioning issue. Not only do they not air condition the building but they do not even use fans or a ventilation. The only time they opened the doors to allow air flow was on a 107 degree day. You know its hot in the building when they have the doors open to cool it down and its 107 outside. Otherwise, you are sitting in a oven with the most stagnant air you can imagine. When I asked at the front desk if they receive a lot of complaints about how hot it is, the girl said I dont know but its air conditioned in here!. So they are willing to cool down the office area for their employees but arent willing to invest in fans and vents for their paying customers.
I only go on fridays for AGX but most of the time you cannot blame the instructors some of the kids go there to play and if you child does this please consider going to jump time because we have dudes that are actually trying to get better at the sport. once again dont blame the instructors some kids do not listen and decide to do stupid things that are against the rules and they keep doing that so if you say it sucks because of the instructors check you children.
The people here do not work well with kids or parents. They allow bullying to happen with children and dont do anything to a dress the situation. I wouldnt recommend having you child around this place at all. If you cant communicate propey with parents how can you be trusted to teach the kids.
The open gym is so fun! My kids love it and great exercise!!!
Danik is awesome. Ive seen a lot of growth in the last five years as their junior olympic programs have really grown to be quite impressive. This review focuses on the competitive team. Comparing gyms can be difficult, but if youre looking for excellence, Danik has consistently been scoring very high for years. One of Danik’s main differentiators is that most of their best gymnasts were trained either exclusively or primarily at Danik rather than simply being recruited from other gyms once they were already good. Danik’s coaching staff is tough in practice, but coaches care deeply about the gymnasts. Danik is for Idaho’s serious gymnasts who want to be national contenders rather than just local Idaho stars.
We decided to try out this gym last summer with their $99 special and are hooked!! My two daughters have made so much progress in such a short time that they are now on competition teams. One of my daughters did so well that she won All Around State Champion in State last year for her age and level. This would not have been possible if it werent for the high level of coaching and instruction she received. Her twin brother went through chemo and a bone marrow transplant as a toddler and had been receiving physical therapy for 6 1/2 years. After 6 months at Danik, he has become so much stronger, he no longer needs therapy!!! Love what this gym has done for my family!
Great staff and facility! Highly recommend!
I really am disappointed in this gym. Why we stayed as long as we did is beyond me. In the 4 months we were there the coach had little personality and did nothing to help those that needed help. She stared at her clip board and looked very board at her job. My daughter is also terrified after watching the girls on the competitive team get yelled at and made cry. She will not even put on a leotard to play.
In a gymnast here and I LOVE it . Never going to different gym
Our girls have been going to Daniel for almost 2 months now and they look forward to going each week. And we really love Miss Deb!
I signed up for a parkour class and it has been the funnest class ive ever signed up for. But the instructors are a joke. We have two nice ones, and the rest are jerks (no instructor is qualified)
People seem to give this place a bad rap. I cant speak for the gymnastics or tumbling classes, but I havent had any issues with the parkour ones. The real benefit of going to danik, for classes or open gym, is to be able to hang out with the other students and coaches, learn/practice a couple new things, and then have some time to work on your own tricks. If youre looking to be babysat the whole way then theyre probably not for you. I think they work best when youre willing to try things out for yourself, and then ask for pointers if you need it. I again cant speak for the gymnastics classes or how kids are treated, but for learning and practicing parkour/freerunning I havent found a better place.
Dont do business here. My Wife and Kids went there today, one class had my 3 and 4 year olds in it. In under 30 minutes they had ignored my 3 year old (nearly the whole time) and the instructors made my 4 year old cry. When my Wife went to the front desk to ask why this gymnastics class had spent 30 minutes of the 60 minute class stretching, instead of teaching gymnastics, the front desk told us that since this was a home school class and we dont pay much to attend the class, we dont get much (in the way of gymnastics instruction). This lady must be out of her mind and assuming she is not an owner, should be fired. With her attitude about the price, you would think us the home school families made up the prices to participate, not the owners of the gym. Do NOT go here for any reason these people need to be boycotted.
This place Rocks! Lots of classes for kids of all ages, and lots of classes for all types of acrobatic interests!!
These reviews are deceptive in that the positive reviews seem to be written by those who have a vested interest in the company - not from actual customers. Another significant and equally disturbing problem - Danik has never responded to a single post. That speaks volumes for their business practices and ethics. Thanks to you who took the time to write about your dismal experiences.
I loved this place i used to do parkour the coachs are nice and funny and agx is fun but to many people coaches will help u if u need it and will teach u wat u want
I went to this gym for a half a year, and then they stopped teaching new things at the parkour class. although it taught me the basics, it sucked. I dont know about all of the other reviews saying about bad coaches (mine were AWESOME) but the fact that their AC is broken down (for 6 months?) made my experience horrible. i would not ever go to this gym again, let alone have my parents pay WAY overpriced fees. one more thing, the fact that open play is for 11 and under and the after gym extreme isnt on saturday makes me FURIOUS. dont you realize that there are SEVERAL children who must transition to different parents houses ON SUNDAY? cmon danik!2/5 would not do again
It is the best place ever and logan is a tree and i love KMSing
When we signed up our daughter, we did the first class free, and they made it sound like we better hurry and sign her up immediately, or else there will not be a spot left for her (which Ive talked to other moms, and they all say they were pressured the same way). First off, what a joke! The worst service /coaching Ive ever seen! My daughter took their classes for 8 months and didnt learn a thing. There was a different coach every lesson, and none of them corrected any technique, they (teenagers who are coaching) just chatted among themselves and goofed off the whole time. Didnt take anything seriously, and did the same thing over and over each class--never improving, or adding something new. I can not say one good thing about them. All they care about is their competition side, and just turn over coaches and students like crazy--trying to get money.
Karate instructor made an extremely rude comment about my 8 year old son while my wife was 3 feet away. This place is an example of people unfit to work with children. Beyonrude to us and would never recommend this gym
Good place for open gym
Constant turn-over of coaches, and coaches arent qualified. There are way too many classes going on at once, so class sizes are huge and its almost impossible to find parking. Most of all, THERE IS NO AIR-CONDITIONING AND NO WI-FI.
Good place to work and train
Really fun
