An amazing experience for families. Our son is autistic and he had a blast! Nothing too over stimulating for him. There is plenty of parking and you pay at the desk for tickets. Its a medium size childrens museum but so much to do. There wasnt much people there so he got to run around aimlessly. There was a stage he could get on to act, a little dancing room with lights. There was firetrucks, airplane, and a little playground inside with a slide. The outside area had zip-lines, musical instruments, slides, and more. If we lived in Tennessee we would be here every month!
New members, my 2 year old twins and I love this place! The staff is very friendly, courteous, and exceeds customer service skills. The facility is very clean and sanitized, Im not cringing the entire time my children are playing.Stay safe Memphis.
We have been members for a couple of years. Its a great place for kids to play and explore. They have great outdoor and indoor amenities with a good variety of things to entertain your kids for several hours. Its a little expensive as a yearly family membership is $160. If you pay for one day its $15 per person. So a membership makes sense if youre going to visit at least 3 times a year and are a family of 4.
I miss it so much here, this kids museum is wonderful and so fun & great place for the children! I remember I came here for a field trip back in kindergarten, this place is huge, playgrounds, plane inside, and a little cute Kroger store area, I really miss going here.
The Children’s Museu...DonNo problem brother I’m gonna was tI’m getting a work So I’m gonna I know how you feel and you Well done was a great morningWow has to pcome or next time we have we can get some w and the app has a good job
Great place for a wedding reception! We attended a reception at the Children’s Museum and it could not have been better. The carrousel was open and attendees at the party rode and was loads of fun!The kitchen area was spacious for the caterer and everyone had plenty of room for a wonderful party.Book this magical place for your next wedding!!
Superb! My 2 1/2 yr old loved it. There are nice games but no loudmusic which is a nice touch.
I photographed a wedding at Childrens Museum of Memphis. What a really neat venue for couples to have their wedding and reception in the Memphis area! Melissa, the wedding coordinator, was a dream to work with. There is a very airy and bright space for brides to get ready in. The grooms room is located in the back of the building. Im really amazed at how the space transforms into a wedding and event space. Of course, you cant go wrong the the amazing carousel!--so picturesque!
You will without a doubt have a fun and educational family bonding experience every time you visit the Childrens Museum. It is a staple here in Memphis. As most residents with children know, its worth it to buy the membership. Affordable prices. Easily enjoy hours of entertaining and educational fun for the whole family. I love that the museum consistently has different events and exhibits to enjoy. They last for weeks which sets them apart from other child-focused places which usually last one weekend. This museum has maintained its ability to stay current and interesting over the years.
Me and my daughter had wonderful Saturday here. Its tons of activities for all ages.
My son had a ball. There are so many awesome toys and a variety of activities. They also have Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer available to keep things clean. God luck on keeping the kids 6 ft apart though!
Love this place. Perfect for rainy days, Saturdays, Sundays, any day. So much to do! Definitely worth the membership of you can get it. Kids of most ages 12 and under will definitely have a good time, especially in summer with the outdoor area and sprinklers.
I’ve always seen this place around in Memphis. I’ve just never bothered to visit it. The name throws you off but WOW. It’s so amazing.. especially for children. It’s really good for children 3+ to enjoy. Maybe younger than that too.So much for the kids to enjoy. It’s a huge playground with an array of areas. It teaches and educate kids about adulthood in a fun way while having areas totally made for them. It’s well worth the admission which is $15. Your child will have a guaranteed BLAST.They do offer membership.. which is a great idea. If you plan to take your child here regularly.
Came here on a field trip with my favorite first grader and his friends! This is a really fun place - for a little kid! After a couple hours I was pretty ready to go, but this place is pretty great. I think my teenagers would be bored, but my youngest had a great time.
Looking for a good educational yet fun place to take the kids? This is it. Outdoor and indoor activities unlimited! Too cold for the park? Go here. The kids will tire themselves out. We benefit from purchasing the membership for our family. I just wished they stayed open later than 5.
This was a layover night that helped to split a 13 hour drive home. I am glad that this was our main reason to sleep in Memphis. My grandkids (and us 4 adults!) had a ball! We went from spot to spot playing and exploring and talking about what we were doing. We spent 2 hours here and had to drag the kids away because we still had 6 hours of driving left to get home.
This place was wonderful, but very pricey and also doesn’t offer a military discount. It was 15 dollars per a person despite age for general admission, the carousel and the splash park are additional to the general admission. If you go more than once I would encourage to get a membership. It has a plethora of options for the kids to choose from and a space for the toddlers to escape to as well. The carousel was 3 dollars per person and the ride was pretty short, it is a one time deal so you would pay for each ride which also kind of sucked because our 2 yo really enjoyed it. Overall it was a great experience I just wish that it had more of a pkg deal instead of each individual cost including parking.
This is a really fun place for kids ages 4 to around 11. There are lots of hands-on learning centers, like an auto-zone, a farm, a dentist, fire trucks & police vehicles, a Hollywood studios, and more. There are a couple of outdoor activities like basketball and a splash pad, but since it was rainy and cold, we did not explore those. The exhibits seemed clean enough and most were in working order. The kids had fun jumping from one activity to the next. The price of admission included a ride on the indoor carousel (about $75 for 4 and parking), which the kids loved.A couple of the exhibits could have been setup a little differently, or had a little more explaination, but overall a fun place to let the kids play on a rainy day.
Brilliantly designed, indoor and outdoor areas, fun and educational exhibits. One of my top favorites in the country.
Im really impressed how CMOM keeps updating exhibits. It seems they update on the regular, which really makes is nice since my daughter loves going there. New things to explore every couple of months really keeps her excited. The exhibits are kept clean and the staff are very nice to the children. Worth a membership.
Very neat and entertaining for the kids a few things were broke our just didnt work but alot of stuff for kids of all ages to do outside play area and splash park and inside activities
I took my 3 year old daughter and 3 month old. We had fun, however alot of the experiences were broken or not working. They said they are getting ready fpr renovations and i hope this will fix the broken exhibits.
Our daughter loved this little gem on our drive through Memphis. I’m pretty sure she would’ve stayed in the mini Kroger grocery store all day if we had let her.
We had alot of fun but we were one of two school groups that were visiting that day and there were really just too many kids there to see any one particular exhibit for any period of time.
The Childrens Museum is a fun-filled scientific and historical wonderland for kids and adults. They have a mini grocery store, fire trucks, plastic cadavers, outdoor basketball, a real Fed-Ex airplane, so much more. Theres an eating area a water area. You can spend hours exploring and having fun!
Really great place for kids I wish it wasn’t so expensive. Lots of fun all day long
A wonderful place for young kids. Mine did not want to leave. Perfect on a hot day.
Great place for the kids. Its like their own amusement park!
It was our first time there and we are definitely purchasing a membership. Obviously the place is tailored to the kiddos but I was surprised by how relaxing it was to have a safe secured place for the kids to run and play without much worry. The airplane was a favorite, along with the farm and outside play area. To top it off we had pizza hut delivered there!
Really cool place for kids. Its inexpensive and there are a lot of activities for kids to do. We visited it on a Saturday when we were in Memphis. I think that this place is even better than the Adventure Science Center in Nashville. I would rank it as pretty similar to the Childrens Museum in Chattanooga. Our son only played there for 4 hours tops because needed to drive home.My only complaint is that they dont have a cafeteria inside and you need to drive out to get some lunch or snacks.
My 2 year old son loved it. They have a special area for children from 1-4 years old. He enjoyed that area along with every other area we visited! The outdoors playground is so great and smooth! It cost 34.00 for me and my 2 year old to enter. They offer membership deals, and you will save and benefit if you get that deal if you will be returning often. To answer your other question; YES, JESUS IS REAL and HE IS THE ONLY WAY TO HEAVEN!
Amazing place for the children and parents to enjoy and learn many things. However I feel that they are overpriced. If you want to visit it multiple times in a year, say 3 or more then its worth buying their annual membership.
Great museum! Awesome exhibits for kids of all ages!
This place is a blast!! We took our almost three year old and there were so many things for her to do. I think dad and I probably enjoyed it just as much as she did. We considered the membership but live just a little too far away to swing it. We will definitely return in the future though.
This is a great museum for children of all ages! I am 30, and I certainly enjoyed my time there with several 6 year olds and a 3 year old. The exhibits are all interactive, informative, and developmentally appropriate. Plan to spend at least two hours here!
Great museum with lots of different experiences every time we go we find something new to play and focus on and learn something new about the environment around us. As you can tell by the pix I would definitely suggest the firetruck and police car that are right by the front door.
Wow! I am definitely buying a yearly pass for my family. The huge carousel was fun, my kids live the FedEx plane and cockpit area, and the outside play area is perfect for my 4 and 6 year old boys.
The Childrens Museum of Memphis, has its doors open again, you can enjoy the weekends there with your children, they make sure that everybody keeps the safety distance, hand sanitizer, etc, that is necessary now. But your children still can learn, play, and have fun, also the parents we have fun eh. You can also eat a good snack and there are drinks, sitting in one of the tables, specially separated from others. Also you can take the most becoming a member of the Childrens Museum, for all the family, at an excellent price, and you can go for the whole year whenever you wish.
The Childrens Museum of Memphis is a wonderful place to take your kids. They can learn, explore, and grow. The museum also hosts fun events for your family.
I took my class on a Community outing to the museum. They had a great time with all of the hands on activities that were at their disposal. Children like going to places where its okay to touch things. We had a catered lunch in the birthday party room. It was a good trip.
Liked activities that it has for children to enjoy.
Such a nice large indoor/outdoor playroom with the option to purchase a carousel ride. expect to spend a minimum of 2-3 hours. rents for variety of events.
The Childrens Museum of Memphis creates memorable learning experiences through the joy of play in hands-on exhibits and programs.
A great place for kids to explore and learn.
My daughters 1st time visiting. She had a ball
Lots of things to do for my 5 year old son and 9 year old cousin, didnt think for once my 14 year old son, and 14 year old girl cousin would damn near have more fun then the younger 2, lol. Got there on a Thurs, to a school group of kids running around not allowing my little one a chance to drive either the fire truck or police car, the teachers started gathering them up to leave within 10 mins of us being there, THANK GOD. So then we just about had the place to our selves with maybe 4 different small families there which was no hassle. Loved the grocery store, the fishing area, everything about this museum. It was just as I read, and couldnt of been better, wonderful experience for my little one. If ever were in Memphis we will definitely stop by, plus theyre building a carousel, even more reason to return.
The grandbabies had a blast, highly recommended this place. We will return again soon
Some of the equipment is very cheap. This is an amazing place and mostly everything is great! Some of the cheap stuff was very disappointing.
Great place for kids! (Duh. The name is CHILDRENS museum) we held a party for a toddler, and it was great! 30 kids max though.
My son thoroughly enjoyed this place, and I enjoyed watching him have so much fun. He really enjoyed the Autozone, airplane, and firetruck exhibits.
Excellent place for your kids so year long.
A great museum and you really need several hours to fully enjoy the museum. Our daughter loves it
The Carousel is BEAUTIFUL... Thanks for bringing back an old ladies childhood for another ride around.
The kids loved it. This is a very child-focused museum with tons of interactive exhibits, including some (like the Auto Zone space) that we have not encountered at other museums. If you are an ACM museum member they do give half off for a certain level of membership. It is worth ticket price without the discount. Parking on site is $4. For me, being close is worth it. For those who are more cost - conscious, there is free parking further away and its an easy walk. Naturally, this is a homeschool field trip dream. I would recommend anybody needing something to keep the kids busy all day come here.
Its an awesome place for children to run around, play, and interact with other children. Really only worth the price if you are there for at least 3 hours in my opinion. But we did have fun!
Grand baby had a bunch of fun
This is a wonderful place to take young children. My 2 and 4 year olds loved it.
Great place for kids and parents. Lots of educational things to do for the kids and activities to keep both you and the kids going.
A wonderful location to stop and let the kiddos play and play and play! We adults had fun too.
Great place to spend the day! Love that they have a separate area for kids 4 and under. Paw Patrol exhibit is great and the splash park is such a fun thing for the kiddos during the summer! Plus- $1 snow-cones??? Makes for a perfect day!
Office party in the Carousel Room. It was fantastic. Just beautiful.
Truly the BEST Childrens Museum!! We had SO much fun and learned a lot. Just when we thought wed seen it all we turned a corner and found a new exciting exhibit to explore.
Fun activities for kids to do. Beautiful refurbished carousel. Never a dull moment here. Plenty for kids to do.
Great place for parent and children learning experiences.
Fairly priced. This museum was built for the mind of a child. My kid was transfixed from room to room, and smiled the whole time we were there! My husband and I will be bringing our child here again!
I live in Memphis and have been to the Childrens Museum lots of times. I remember having heaps of fun when I was little, but there is not much to do for older children. I took my cousins back recently, and the attractions are super fun but after visiting a few times, they get kind of boring. There are some new features now, which will probably increase the amount of times I would visit!
Kids love this place. The best part is that everything worked!
New Years Eve the museum has a tradition that families have shared for years. This year was our first year and our first visit. There are many areas for kids of all ages to explore. Our two year old grandson had a blast especially in the kitchen. Grandpa had a great time with the water! The exhibits are roomy, entertaining and help to explore Memphis. Highly recommend a trip for the fun of it.
Paw Patrol was a HUGE hit! And all the different stations will keep your little one busy for hours.
Great place to take your children is you visit Memphis. It’s a must ! Plenty of things to do!
This place never ceased to amaze me. It is not only staffed very well, it is extremely family oriented. Yes, they have some older exhibits, but they are kept clean and safe. They have always been an amazing place to go! I love the new exhibits and I cant wait for the summer outside areas to be opened! The carousel made me so nostalgic! It looka so beautiful! I couldnt believe it was still the one from Libertyland so long ago! Please never close your doors.
Absolutely fun for the kids! The outside park is sooo much fun and the kids love the shopping center. Weve been there several times for field trips and play dates with friends. On winter days this is the place to bring the kids! They can spend hours here! They have the biggest carousel I have ever seen! Parents can walk through and socialize or even interact with the children and play through the museum with them. All the kids love the FedEx plane too.
Always fun for the kids.
Not just fun for kids too my 27 year old grand daughter and 4 year old GREAT granddaughter and all three of us had a blast 3 and 1/2 hours and did NOT get to see everything there
Excellent museum for children of all ages.
Excellent place to spend a day with your kids! Lots of things to do! Little lake to fish (toy fish), a little market, a skyscraper, a lego zone, a wall to climb, a garage to repair cars, an airplane to fly, a beautiful outdoor playground and a convinient baskball court!
Great place for kids and adults. Clean and sooo much to do. Highly recommend a visit if you have kids 1-9.
This place keeps my grandkids entertained! I love how they change out the exhibits every few months! My granddaughter asked where was the babies they could play with...she found they had been moved to the under 4 area! She knows this place so well!
It was cool for the kids, nice calming environment
I can remember playing here as a child. When my children and I visit I get all nostalgic and my heart swells with pride. Love love LOVE this place.
On a recent trip to Memphis, our Saturday morning found us up and at em for a fun-filled trip to the Childrens Museum. We arrived promptly at 9 a.m. (when it opened), enjoyed free on-site parking, and paid our $30 (total) to get in. My 3-year-old son immediately noticed the big FedEx plane to the right of the museum entrance, so our first stop was a stint as pilot and co-pilot in the cockpit. We explored the Mississippi river exhibit, then spent some time checking out groceries at the mini-Kroger before heading into educational exhibits about dentistry, auto mechanics, and more!
My 3 year old had so much fun here! Clean, educational, and a ton to see and do.
A great place for children with the exception theyre extremely overpriced, extremely overpriced. I strongly believe thats due to low competition. Companies often do this by taking advantage of citizens. When there is no competition directly in their area. They charge $15 per person and yes you will have to pay $15 for your one-year-old just to walk around. Youll have to pay a additional $4 per person for the merry-go-round. Additional $5 for water activity and etc... Its going to cost you $60 just to get in with family of #4. An a additional $30-$40 to feed your family. Which brings your total to roughly around $100 for a place that is not offering much. Just take your family to the movie theaters and go get something to eat after and I promise youll have a little extra left over.
Our favorite place to take the g-baby. She loves the chickens and cow.
Wow - our grandson LOVED this place. Didnt want to leave. Well definitely be back.
We love CMOM! Great combination of educational and physical outlet. Weve been members for 5+ years. They have something for every age group.
Great place for the kids. Would have given it 5 stars but $15 a person regardless if your 1 or a 100 seems a bit much.
We had a great time! The kids really enjoyed themselves!
We took our 2 children here for the first time and we couldnt be more satisfied with this museum. It has so many things and themes to cater to a lot of different ages of children. They have a special section for kids 4 and below. The splash pad is awesome. Kids of all ages love it. The carousel is good too if you like that sort of thing. My recommendation would be to get the membership since that comes out to be more economical.
This museum was great! My two year old child was totally entertained and so were the two adults. There is a little bit for everyone: trucks, planes, water, arts/crafts, cars, dancing, house, grocery store, and anatomy. My favorite part was the restored carousel. I would have given 5 stars, but there were a few exhibits that needed some attention and repair.
Oh, this was terrific. My husband and I dont have children, so we never get to cool places like Childrens Museums. The reason who got to this one is that we were guests of honor at the local science fiction convention, and we are well-known to be admirers of antique wooden carousels. There is a restored 1917 Dentzel carousel at the childrens museum, which we admire profusely, and took a couple of rides. Then -- theres the rest of the museum. Even if you dont like carousels, you need to go this museum -- borrow a kid from somebody, if youre embarrassed to go alone. They have -- oh, everything. Interactive installations -- air tubes where you can insert a scarf, follow it through the various intersection clear pipe, and try to catch it when it finally explodes out of one of the exit tubes. It has a Lego room; it has a police car, you can explore; it has a grocery store, where you can shop for wooden/plastic food items, or you can take up a position behind the counter...It was such fun -- our hosts had a hard time extricating us in time to get back to the hotel, and lunch.
This was an enjoyable experience for my 2 year old son, but it was way overpriced. Its a big building, but mostly empty. I was expecting much more.
My daughter & I took her 2 girls there. It was fun & educational.
Nice will go back
