We enjoyed our visit to T.O Fuller state park our first TN state park. The sites are spacious but the seem to but up to each other so you may be looking at your neighbors out your windows. The park has 50 amp service and water no sewer but they have a dump station, the hiking trail was energizing lots of up and down, but clear path. They have washers and dryers as an amenity $1 per load. The reason for the 4 instead of 5 star is due to the amount of debris and trash left in the sites along the edges of the forest. A good clean up day would do it wonders.
So quiet and peaceful. Host on site is very nice. You would never know this was in the city limits. Big rig friendly, but choose a higher numbered pull through site for leveling. The ladies in the registration cabin moved us from #7 to #36, quite a bit more level and it was much appreciated. Ours is a 40 class A with towed car so we did disconnect the car to fit properly. Laundry is $1 to wash and same to dry. The laundry room wasnt fancy or spotless, but it was much appreciated. My dog loved it here. We did too.
Stayed here one night. It was pretty nice, the showers were okay and the toilets are actual toilets and not just a hole in the ground. I think my only complaint was the marker for our campsite was in a extremely confusing place so when we arrived it appeared that our tent campsite was on a paved deck and it was difficult to confirm our spot since the office was closed. Either way, nice spot, okay hiking.
I really want to give this park a great review but I was pretty taken back by just how low the branches were throughout, we tow a large 5th wheel and essentially had to be on the wrong side of the road to not just drive right into trees. Additionally youre essentially staying just outside what feels like the ghetto. Nothing bad happened and I cant offer any major complaints, it just wasnt quite what we had hoped for, but it was far from a bad spot.Very pretty and green though! Makes for some scenic photos!
Calm and peaceful. Except for the red eye flights. Clean with big older trees.the host is very helpful .
Very nice park. Clean and well maintained. Employees and camp host very nice and helpful. Bathrooms and shower stalls need up grades. Washer and dryers need to be replaced. Nasty sewage smell coming from near by chemical plant.
Clean and orderly! Very close to town for daily adventure.
Small and compact campground
Nice clean affordable place. Pets are free. Rangers are close and it was quiet. The drive to there was questionable but once there its a totally different vibe. For sure a check out place.
This park is a gold mine for the Memphis urban population who miss the freedom of country style fun. Trails, picnic areas, camping sites, wooded scenes and yes its SAFE! The Park Ranger is former law enforcement officer and puts safety first. Just 10 minutes from downtown Memphis and easy to find. You can take an afternoon off and head to the woods!!!
We had looked at staying at this campground in the past, but a few reviews scared us away, but I’m grateful that we took the chance our last time passing through the area. Though the drive to the park goes through some questionable areas, and you wonder how a park could be in close proximity to an industrial park, you are rewarded upon arrival by a well kept and peaceful campground. The other campers were quiet and the only sounds heard through the night were the songs of the cicadas singing us to sleep.
Easy to locate and park near the primitive camping area but it is basically a mowed lawn with trees and shrubs around it. It was a safe place for us to stop for the night, but if you’re looking for a rural camping experience, this is not the place. For day use and for campers and RVs, it looked great. The bathrooms were clean and the park roads are easy to navigate.
We didnt get a chance to explore the trails, but its a great place for a quick stop on a road trip. Surprising to find such a secluded spot in the middle of Memphis. The facilities are nice with a coin operated laundry, bathroom with showers, and ice available for free. There is a small but well maintained playground in the middle of the camp area as well as a ~30x30 covered pavilion. The sites all have water and electricity, a sturdy picnic table, a fire ring with grill, and a charcoal grill.
Great place for a lay over
A beautiful state park. The camping area features full electric hookups (50 amp) and good water. There is a dump station on your way out. Beautiful trees and ample privacy. The personnel are extremely nice and accommodating. The grounds were well maintained and the laundry and bathrooms were also extremely well maintained! We will definitely be back!
Scarry. Be afraid. Be very afraid...
You get what you pay for. As long as you know youre not paying much, you get the bare necessities.
Love it and head Ranger is wonderful
Flat Alex enjoyed this no frills camp for our RV group. This is NOT a full hook up at the rv sites as there is no sewer at spot but the park does have a dump station.Showers are pretty decent for a state park, Private stalls with lockable doors, bench and hot water with a good flow.Bring your own tp to bathroom stalls as it is a hit and miss situation. If you plan on staying here just to see the Memphis sights by day, this is an inexpensive way to enjoy your stay. Please note, Flat Alex recommends you stock up on beer and groceries before coming to park.Enjoy!
Always a nice campgroubd. Quiet, clean, cement pads, water, elec, dump site. Several large pull thrus. Weve camped here in summer and now feb. Hot humid in summer 34 at night, 50s during day. Rainy though past 3 days.
Quiet and secluded for being in Memphis. Yet the mosquitoes were AWFUL!!!! And for being a state park it wasnt maintained like any other state park weve traveled to in other states though... BUT they do have water and electricity hook-ups at every site if traveling in a camper...
Nice campground.. Needs some TLC but thats expected after summer use. Really a clean park.
Excellent park! From check in to departure, all staff were friendly and knowledgeable! Grounds were in great condition and bathrooms were clean and neat. Campers were quiet. I used my tent but that was fine as you can go full service or just camp without service in a nice open grassy area. Great State Park! Highly recommended!!
Wonderful Park! Well-maintained. All Sites have Water and Electric, dump station available at no charge to campers. Clean restrooms, and laundry. The staff are courteous and helpful. Stayed for 3 nights, wish we could stay longer. Will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
Nice place too many mosquitoes
Great campground and really close to Graceland and awesome BBQ!
We liked it, but the downfall was our phones would not get out and our camp was faced where we couldnt meet others. It was clean and they had a laundry. The park host was amazing!
Nice surprise. Nice park, close to graceland. Clean r rooms and laundry. Close to metro Memphis.
We got in to the campground rather late, and only stayed overnight but really enjoyed the time we had there. I would say 5 stars for our brief experience, but only gave 4 here because I can only speak to the short time we were there. Park in the RV area was great to run off some energy for the kiddos before we had to head off to our next destination.
This campground is very quiet but very old and outdated. The trees really need to be cut back there is no service, phones, tv, or satellite. A limb fell and went through my awning. And if you are planning to stay for more than a week you have to move your camper around several times.
Very nice place to stay. Large back in and pull through spots are available
Nice, camping spot. It is under the Memphis airport flight line and close to train tracks. Still had a good time. Location is really close to Memphis and all the attractions.
Beautiful grounds, nice lake, walking trail. Nice concrete pads.
Read other reviews about how people did not like this campground. We stayed for a week, met family from Texas here we are from Indiana. Stayed in site 40 and it was a nice spot. Campground host was very friendly and showed us how to use the water hook up. There was electricity and water at the camp site. Dump station up front of park. We have a portable sewer tank that we use when we go places that are not full hook up. We of course knew before hane that it was not a full hookup. Campground was clean, offer free ice and a laundry room you can wash your clothes it was like $1 a load I thought he said. Very quiet park. Campground host told us everything was about 15 minutes from the campground and he was right. We didnt have to travel far to do anything we wanted to do. When the wind changed directions we did get a hint of the sewer station that isnt to far from there, however, the smell lasted not even a minute and was gone. It was nothing to complain about like some people have been doing. I will tell you to make sure you have big spray, the mosquitoes and flies are pretty bad when it is dark other than that this was a very nice place to stay for the week and would definitely go back!!!!!!
Love this park, clean bathrooms, secure showers, and has a wonderful friendly host. You dont have to worry about leaving your camper to tour Memphis because park rangers and the host continually drive through the park to see that things are okay. The workers at the office, rangers, and the host make this a home away from home for us.
Beautiful, clean and quiet. Sites where well spaced. There was complementary ice in the laundry room. Camp host said hello as soon as we arrived. Came here to see Graceland which was a short drive up the road. Rough neighborhood in the surrounding area but we felt safe in the campground.
Beautiful spot. Easy to get uber to town. Good amenities. Friendly staff
Loved it!!! Would live there if we could.
Great little campground with a playground. Tent and RV camping available.
Bathrooms were dirty but the scenery was beautiful
Was ok for a few days. Reviews state you will pass through poor neighborhood. But you can go another way through the industrial park. The smell was evident a few times while we were there. Yes its bad it is due to factory near by. Close to downtown Memphis. Easy $11 uber trip. Camp host and fellow campers very friendly.
Touring across America from UK. Prices reasonable and man in office real helpful. But location pretty standard, and toilets and shower facilities were used and not the cleanest.
Great camping area! Beautiful location, lots of shade. This location has alot of amenities and is kid friendly. The camp host is a great friendly addition, it puts you at ease to know he is constantly riding around the camp grounds.
Nice wooded campground. Drawback is you have to drive through run down industrialized area to get to.
Nice place, close enough to there city
The park is beautiful and the facilities are nice as well. The only downfall is the neighborhoods you go through to get there and it smelled like the sewage treatment plant. I would rate it 4 stars if not for the smell it is like being in an outhouse outdoors.
Amazing park and beautiful beaches! We didnt get a chance to stay at the park because the spots fill up too fast, wish they had some walk up available like they are supposed to but all in all beautiful place to see!
Went for a hike, trail closed, disappointed.
Great price and facilities... Nicely located for visiting Memphis.
This park is awesome. The people are friendly and it’s well maintenance. Bath house is cleaned everyday. I haven’t noticed any smell. Great location...
Campgrounds are very clean, have all amenities in one close area, quiet, livable prices, close to downtown, peaceful, nice scenery.
Very nice, shade trees, quiet and large campsites.
Beautiful campground. Love it
Great spot with challenging trails
Been there last year very nice# Nice showers an ppl
Nice little camping area not far from downtown Memphis.
View was awesome
Beautiful and relaxing, great rates, will stop again...
Nice and quiet place to stay, but no fishing in the park
Very spacious and quiet and convenient to Graceland.
Nice campground. I bit had to find, but worth it.
Very nice park in the city and very reasonably priced.
Lot of traffic for a Monday night. Laundry service was nice. Disappointed that it was somewhat hard to find, even after finding the visitor center. Then, we had reservations but gave our site away and had to park on a slope.
Beautiful park. Great camping sites!
Loved the location. 10 minutes from downtown Memphis and cheap rates. What more do you want?. As for the smell that was mentioned, I never noticed it. Would return for camping.
Decent place to camp. Great sites.
STINKSThey should call it T.O. Stinker State Park. It’s located next to a sewage processing plant. To quote the movie Christmas Vacation: “I pity anyone who lights a match within 100 yards...”Woke up to an intense sewage smell. They should relocate the park away from the sewage plant.
Nice place! Clean bathrooms
Nice park, clean restrooms, free showers, laundry available too
Nice camp area. Free ice. Clean bathroom and showers
Nice clean and friendly staff close to Graceland Sun Studio enjoyed my visit
Clean, friendly and easy to get to town.
Great bath house, laundry service at the bath house (rare for a state park), clean and well kept. A little cumbersome to get to, saw a ferrel dog or two... We will stay here again on our way through...
Really great place nice space.Would definitely recommend!!
Nice well maintained park& quiet
Love this park!!! nice large sites and well maintained
Great and peaceful. Perfect for camping
Not a well kept park. Dirty bathrooms. Laundry room full of lintel. Ice maker dirty
We stayed for 5 days. It was not crowded and the few people that were there were friendly!
Best bathroom and shower hands down
Great park and campground ....
The whole first day we were there it spelt like a pig farm.
Great campsite.
Very quiet and peaceful campgrounds
I love nature
Pleasant
Nothing to do at this park
11th
Nice, clean campground.
Nice park..
Stinks
Like being in the country, yet still in town.
