Jordan was the DJ at our wedding recently, and he was fantastic. Anytime that I had a question, he was more than willing to answer and put my mind to ease. I had a special request that 90’s and early 2000’s music be played since my husband and I are a little older than the average newlywed, and he said he would “hook us up”. It was absolutely wonderful! While our guest count was a little lower than expected due to this pandemic, he was able to still keep people on the dance floor and everyone had an awesome time! I will definitely be recommending Jordan to anyone in the future!

You can have up to 3-4 channels of live music to choose from at your own leisure, and the headphones work great and are super easy to use. I never wanted the night to end! We originally had a different company booked for our wedding. Two days before they informed us they were not going to be able to do it, all their guys were booked. We called a few places hoping someone could cover us in 2 days notice. Tiger City DJs went above and beyond. They made it on time, had everything set up(in two locations! Reception/dance area and outside where the main event was), and did an absolute amazing job. They were even able to use our playlist. The DJ was very interactive with everyone. Tiger City was an awesome group to work with! From the beginning, Jordan was super nice and easy going. He made sure everything was taken care of and gave us all the time in the world to get our music figured out. Jordan also has some awesome playlists on their website which was super helpful to us when deciding on specific songs to play at key points in the ceremony and reception. Drew was assigned to our event and he couldnt have been any more spectacular! Drew played every single song we asked for and was able to keep a read on the mood the whole night. Drew did an amazing job balancing the requests from the guests with the outlines we shared and went above and beyond making sure we were good with the music choices. My husband and I were so pleased with Jordan as our dj for our wedding. He was very intuitive and knew what we wanted with very little direction. I gave him a playlist of music to play and he knew exactly when to play everything. He kept up with all the music requests and was very intent on keeping me, the bride, happy! I thought I had some photos to share but I can’t seem to find them!! Anyway, definitely go with Jordan or any dj from tiger city djs!

My wife and I had Jordan DJ our elopement party last weekend, and he did an amazing job as DJ. My wife sent him a couple of playlists ahead of time, and we asked that he stay primarily on these lists with some off the list songs. He did well to stay on the lists and when he did play other songs, they fit well with the playlists and the vibe that the room had at the time. He was able to read the room really well. He was also very friendly and easy to work with, and we would recommend him to anyone else looking for a DJ.

We booked Tiger City Entertainment for our wedding DJ and highly recommend them for any event! Jordan is absolutely fantastic and the absolute kindest person! Without airing his personal information, I’ll just say he had a very serious family situation 4 days prior to our wedding. I never knew about it until after. He could’ve cancelled (which would have been fine with me, considering the circumstances) but he never mentioned it and showed up and DJ’d like the professional he is! He played everything we requested, didn’t play some specific songs we didn’t want, and made sure all music was the “clean” version as we had children at our reception. I definitely appreciate this and bumped the review back up to four stars.Here’s the story:We hired Tiger City Entertainment for our wedding. At the very beginning Jordan, the owner, asked us to fill out a detailed Word document that lists everything we might possibly want during the ceremony. His rule is that every element of the ceremony must be on this form and emailed to him in advance. My wife and I are pretty detail-oriented people, so we gladly complied. Plus, my wife is from the Caribbean while I’m from the States. We wanted to blend elements of her culture and mine into the ceremony and reception, so we had some pretty specific instructions for how the event was supposed to flow. Second, we wanted her to walk in on a specific song and that song needed to be cut to the correct length. We agreed to pay a little extra for him to cut the song and have it ready for the event.Unfortunately, this is when things started to go wrong. I got in touch with him about two weeks before the ceremony, to make sure everything was on track. During that conversation, I quickly realized that he hadn’t read the Word document in detail and wasn’t familiar with certain elements of the ceremony that would be important to us. When I started asking detailed questions, he got annoyed, assured me that everything would be taken care of and got off the phone as quickly as he could.Shortly after that, Jordan gets in contact and tells us there’s a DJ change. Another DJ will cut the song for us and be at the event. This sounded fine, so we gave our approval. But now I have my doubts that everything will actually be taken care of. So I get in touch with the new DJ myself. Sure enough, he’d been assigned to the event, but hadn’t gotten the detailed document about our ceremony or information about which song to cut. I sent Jordan a request to send that information over, but ended up sending everything to the new DJ myself. From there on out, I decided to just deal with the new DJ directly.Long story short- we ended up making some tweaks to the ceremony and reception, including adding a traditional drumming track for the bride-groom entrance to the reception. I dutifully compiled all of these changes onto the Word form and sent it to the new DJ, cc’ing our wedding coordinator, about a week before the ceremony. We also got the cut song back from the new DJ and approved it.Fast forward to our wedding day: We show up at the event to discover that the assigned DJ isn’t there, it’s Jordan. At the reception, it comes time for entrance of the wedding party. The entire party is lined up in front of the tent, but Jordan comes to us in a mild panic. He has heard that the wedding party was supposed to be entering to a drumming track, but he doesn’t have the track or any of the instructions for how we were supposed to enter. i.e. he had not gotten that information from his DJ. After minutes of panicked searching, we found an alternate track on youtube for him to play, so we finally get to enter.But then, when we get to our first dance, he messes up the instructions for how to start the song. I had to stop and reexplain it to him while guests were waiting. This had been very clearly outlined in the Word document for weeks, meaning after all that work, he still hadn’t read it in detail.Fortunately, when we get to the dance part of the reception, everything flows smoothly, the music is popping and guests have a great time. Obviously Jordan knows how to throw a great dance party.The take away: if you hire Tiger City Entertainment for your event, don’t expect him to handle details that are too complicated. Keep it simple. He might assure you that everything will be taken care of, but DO NOT take that for granted.

Jordan is one of the best DJs you could ever ask for. Hes fun, affable, helpful, talented, and professional. He listened to us and our wishes--something that is immensely important in this line of work--and was thus able immediately to grasp who we were, what we were looking for, and what kind of musical vibe suited our wedding. Conversations prior to the event inspired confidence and put us at ease. Not surprisingly, come the wedding itself the music was a hit and a raging dance party broke out. Our guests spent much of the night raving about our DJ.Also, hiring Jordan brought an unexpected added perk. He proved responsible for our epic after party at Earnestine and Hazels. He nixed our initial choice (chosen without a great deal of research) and instead encouraged us to hit up what proved to be one of Memphis real gems. Without his expert assistance, we would not have had the perfect ending to a great night. So much of what Jordan has to offer is encapsulated in this one anecdote. He knew when to intervene, he knew what to say and how to say it, and he knew what our group would respond to. He also genuinely was invested in us having a good time, even though it was going to come after he was off the clock. What more could you ask for?Dont think about whether youll hire Jordan for your event, just do it.

Jordan from Tiger City Entertainment came highly recommended, however, our experience was less than stellar. We planned a vendor walk-through of the event space a month ahead of our wedding to ensure everyone knew their role and the flow of the day. Jordan declined the meeting. It took a lot of convincing to get a face-to-face meeting with Jordan, and when we did, he did not have our song document with him, which details what songs we want played at certain, key times. He was very rushed at that meeting, and set the tone for how he would be the day-of.Jordan mispronounced my last name and my groom’s first name at our introduction. To top off our experience, he failed to remind us ahead of our wedding day that the final bill was due the day of our wedding. He waited until Monday when we were on our honeymoon to tell us our bill was outstanding, which is the last thing we wanted to be dealing with. When we asked something of him the same night, he said he was too busy hosting a potluck to take care of it.Bottom-line: Jordan failed to prepare for our event and his disorganization led to an interruption in our honeymoon. Despite being one of the more affordable DJs around, couples should keep in mind they get what they pay for.

Jordan provided DJ services for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He did an absolutely flawless job, making sure to play all requested music for the ceremony, but then tailoring the rest of the selections to our crowd throughout the evening. I received many compliments about the music and the vibe on the dance floor. We did not provide many precise guidelines to Jordan, but he did a great job of reading the room and playing a fantastic mix of tunes. Highly recommended!

I’ve seen Jordan and his Silent Disco Team at several area events now. Each time was better than the last. His crew really gets the place going and is a blast to listen to. Last time we went to the silent disco at Railgarten was really fun with two (or may have been three) different DJ’s with it being interchangeable. A great deal of variety was played. I’m glad local places keep parterning with Tiger City to bring something different to Memphis. Well done!

Jordan was absolutely amazing! He was laid-back but also incredibly professional. He made sure all my must plays got airtime and politely refused guests requests that contradicted the playlist wed put together. We had a raging dance party and throughout the night my guests kept coming up to me to say how awesome he was! Dont hesitate to hire Jordan--you wont regret it!

We had a meeting a couple weeks prior to the wedding and he was very personable, fun to talk with and had a great idea of the music/timeline I was wanting. I attended an event Jordan DJ’ed and was truly impressed. DJ’ing is far more than just making a playlist, and this was apparent during his performance. After speaking with him, I learned that being a DJ wasn’t just his job, but his love. His extensive knowledge on music exceeded my expectations and was refreshing because it wasn’t limited to today’s mainstream songs. Aside from collaborating a mix that was fitting for everyone at the event, he was very professional as well as humorous when speaking on the mic.
