Love this place. Grew up going there with my artist father, and now that I’m an artist myself, it’s my go to place. They have everything you need, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Recently I had a canvas building question and was able to speak with Jimmy who provided me with the solution! Real value and experience that the big box stores can’t give you.

I love this place. This is a real Art Store. No matter what type of artist you are, if they dont have it, they can order it. Drawing instruments, watercolor paper, pencils & brushes, acrylics, chalk, oils, fabric dyes and desks. With a Framing shop, too. They have instructional books, as well. Plus, a helpful & knowledgeable staff.

I always go there to buy art supplies! The workers are super helpful, they have student discounts and sales all the time, and they have all different kinds of craft supplies as well. Definitely would reccomend to anyone looking for a smaller store to buy from.

Great place. I pray it is here forever. In the 90s i remember there being at least 3 small art supply businesses in memphis. There was a second Art Center on Park, and there was Sherris on Highland. Now i think only the Art Center on Union remains. Go here before you run off to Michaels, Hobby Lobby or....Amazon (bites knuckles)! Genuinely friendly people, very helpful and just a pleasant place to walk into.

Was able to get a frame, craft glue and poster paper all in one place. Helpful staff and great layout/sectioning of items.

They had exactly what I needed and very polite but I needed to get the paint that I couldnt get through Amazon right away glad I went there and this is the result after I finished

This is a great place for reasonably priced art supplies. My son is has recently shown interest in drawing and this place had everything I needed and more. Ill definitely be back.

Selection was good, but we were hoping for more water color palettes and sets. Otherwise, great storwle and friendly staff.

My kid loves this store. Hes only been once before with his grandparents but its got so many items to his artist hearts content.

The Art Center is my go-to art store in Memphis because of its prices and staff of friendly, creative people. Much easier to ge the BEST material here at a reasonable price than at a store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

The staff were genuinely motivated to ensure I had a marvelous shopping experience. And what an incredible selection of art supplies. I went for drafting to draw some dimensional drawings. They had everything I needed.

The Frame Shop is the best! They always work with me on the best options for each piece without going over budget and are very reasonably priced.

This place has everything you need. Theres something for every craft or project, as well as a frame shop. There are neat little Knick knacks for kids as well as kits and crafts. If you are looking for a gift for a creative person in your life (or yourself!), this is a perfect place to look.

What a wonderful store, had everything I was looking for.

Art Center has never failed to meet my needs. They are always courteous and professional. I usually end up wiping them out of Berol silver pencils for use in my blacksmithing studio. They have top notch supplies and know their stuff. Love shopping at this laid back gem in Memphis. Good work guys.

Stopped in yesterday for the first time. Great selection of brushes, paint, paper, pencils, oils, etc. I wouldve been nice to see more things like beads, sequins, jewels etc but maybe that doesnt fall under the realm of art and more so crafts. This store definitely seems better suited for older artists. I have a young, budding artist of only 5. Hopefully we can find a bigger need to utilize The Art Center as she grows.

I have been a regular here for the past 4 years, and I drive 20 minutes to get my art supplies...because these people who know their stuff!Im an architecture student, and they always have what I need, and, if not, they will help in every way they possibly can. Whether its basswood, gouache, or foam core, they ALWAYS go above and beyond to help ensure I have what I need.Also, their prices are very modest, less than Michaels and Hobby Lobbys prices FOR SURE. They also give student discounts, which is very much appreciated. I have so much love for this establish and their staff. Check them out!

This place is a lot better then thoughs chain hobby stores. The prices are very reasonable on the supplies you need. The staff is very helpful and friendly. One thing about this store, it has been there forty something years and is still the best place to go as an artist from a professional to an amature.

A lot of merchandise to choose from but the staff was unhelpful, it showed that they do not like their job, no greeting when a customer comes in, no offer to help, they were annoyed when they had to stop talking to go to the cash register to charge me for my purchase. I will avoid this place next time I visit Memphis.

Best art supply store in the city. Basically, if they dont have it, then I have to order it. I dont bother with hobby stores and I boycott one of them.

Need better staff. People that would be more engaging, instead of just doing a job.The girl asked if I had found everything alright? I say yeah, I only picked up a few things. You know how you keep a list in the back of your mind of little things you need? She looked at me with that blank expression and says I wouldnt know. I mean why ask if you dont really care. In sales on customer service there are no rhetorical questions.

After spending several hours fighting through an arts/crafts mega-box store... I found myself reminiscent of the old days at this place. So, after 20+ years away... I zipped in, went straight to what I needed, checked out and was on my way. No nonsense. No posers. Profesional s all the way!

This place is an artists sanctuary. They are friendly and some of the prices are very reasonable compared to other places.

They have an assortment of art supplies. The staff is very friendly which makes for a pleasant experience. I wanted to give them five stars but they have Copic markers and no refills. They can order them if needed but you can order them order online as well. Thats the only drawback. But I still recommend them over Michaels and Hobby Lobby. Or any other art supply store for that matter. The products they provide are close to online prices and you dont have to scour the internet for coupons to make it so.
