I decided to make this a weekend trip and went to A Christmas Story House first near Cleveland. This tour was approximately 45 minutes long and going upstairs is optional. We then went to Castle Noel which is approximately 35 minutes away from Medina. This tour is approximately 1.45 hours long and it does involve stairs to a second story. This tour was highly enjoyable for myself and my kids, 10 and 6 years old. Even though my kids didnt know all the movie references, it did keep their interest. At the end you are given opportunity to go down A Christmas Story slide one time. A photo is around $11 if you choose to buy one (I did, and glad I did). At the top of the slide you can have a photo taken with Santa. Santa is not physical there in the chair, but will appear in the photo if you choose to buy it at the bottom of the slide. All the tour guides were awesome and you could feel their passion for Christmas. Both these tours can be done in one day but we chose to stay the night at The Hampton Inn in Medina between both tours. The kids loved the pool for a great outlet. I highly suggest if you choose any hotel and want a pool, to check and see if it is open first.
This place is AMAZING. If you dont have the Christmas spirit, you must go here. This place will revitalize you. I think that the owners did an amazing job with design and interacting everyone. I just cant say enough about the happiness and joy of Christmas this place gives. Again I want to thank everyone there for a fantastic time my husband and I had. We highly recommend this for everyone no matter what age. By the way, youll get Santa and Rudolph some day when the time is right. They belong there. Dont give up. Merry Christmas and thanks again ️.
Pros - lots of interesting movie props, toys, and window displays.Mark Klaus seems like a great guy.The slide was pretty fun.Cons- its a bit priceyThe tour guide seemed to be in a bit of a rush due to us being the last group of the night that being said he was pretty funny and educated on the museum.
What an absolutely wonderful experience to be able to share with my niece who is nine years old. She has not stopped talking about the fun she had since the moment she left. We enjoyed purchasing souvenirs, there was so much to choose from. I am beyond thrilled that I was able to provide this absolutely spectacular memory for her to cherish. We will definitely return!!! Thank you for all you do to keep the dream alive all year around
My husband came home from work one day and said he had bought tickets for a place called castle noel for the upcoming weekend. I love Christmas. November 1 Halloween comes down and Christmas goes up. I loved it. Its become a yearly tradition. I was worried with everything going on this year that maybe we wouldnt be able to go. I love the idea of the private tours this year. Thanks for that option. I cant wait to bring my nieces family this year. I think her 4 year old son will love it.
Theres no place like this that I know! Christmas movie props and memorabilia, plus one of a kind window displays from the major department stores in NYC. Interactive and nostalgic, with the slide from A Christmas Story to go down for the best Christmas photo! Words cannot describe this place! Totally worth it!
It was amazing as always. 3 year and it gets better every time. Wonderful family outing
Adorable place. Made a grinch like me smile behind my mask.
Nice family outing! We saw the biggest tree! Got to take the slide down after seeing Santa (like Ralphie did).
What an amazing little gem!!! Had some childhood flashbacks in the toy displays. Lots of great christmas movie memorabilia. Staff was amazing, displays were beautiful, prices were reasonable for the experience! If anyone hasnt been here definitely make the trip you wont regret it!!!
Fun time with the family! Lots of great props and learned a few things as well.
Castle Noel is such a gem! I used to live in New York City, and I frequently went out to take in the sights and museums across town. Castle Noel is a world class operation. For a Christmas nut like me, it is such an exciting place. Its full of nostalgic pieces from all of my favorite Christmas movies. The staff is energetic, inviting, and knowledgeable. The gift shop has fun and unique pieces. My only wish is that they would start a season pass option because now I live right up the street from it! Cant recommend Castle Noel enough. I love it there.
Our tour guides were very friendly and described each display very well it was a interesting peace of history but most of all I enjoyed the experience with my wife
Everything was handmade by Klaus and it was phenomenal! Truly a great experience
This place is a Hidden Gem In ohio. Will definitely go back .. a lot of interesting props and outfits from some of the best Christmas movies...
I thought it was enjoyable the workers were nice and the grinch scene was my favorite!!
MAKE A RESERVATION IF YOU ARE GOING DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON. If you only take away one thing from my review, take away that. We stood in line for over 3 hours in the rain to get in. With that being said, the staff provided umbrellas, Mark (owner) tried to make it less miserable by doing trivia. Other than that... everything else was super cool. Mark seems very passionate about it all and it shows in the tour. A lot of people brought children but I think its more a teenager to adult thing. I dont think a child will really grasp the sentimentality.Castle Noel Staff - please put a recommendation on your website to make a reservation during the holiday season and warn of the lengthy wait time if no reservation is made. I think this would be the courteous thing to do. I will gladly change my review to 5 stars if you do so. Thanks
What a fantastic place! People of all ages would enjoy this place!
Great time at Castle Noel and the Polar Bear Club tonight!!! Highly recommend!
We had reservations three days after Christmas at 10AM, so there were no crowds. This is truly a one of a kind collection of memorabilia that is well curated. We first visited over 10 years ago when they were located in Broadview Heights, and were pleasantly surprised with what Mark and his team have done with the extra space in Medina. The NYC Christmas windows are excellent and the Christmas Story slide and Uncle Eddies RV cannot be missed! The staff who guided the tour were very informative and well trained. Highly recommend visiting!
It was an absolutely wonderful place to go for Christmas they have so much to see the only complaint I would have is the touring part is a little dragged-out when you have little ones to try to keep entertained. The gift shop was also great has fantastic stuff and not too expensive. the best part I thought was the last room where youre there to see Santa and take a ride down the slide from the Christmas story!!!!!
Wonderful unique museum of Christmas items. Well done and narated
Very cool! If you love Christmas ... thisnis a must see.
Amazing place. Great imagery and attractions. Will get you in the holiday spirit. Family friendly.
A must see if you love Christmas and Christmas movies! Such a fun and wonderful place!
This place is awesome and probably better for older kids as the tour takes a few minutes to get started. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Displays are thought out and unique. A great place to take the family any time of the year.
So much fun. Its amazing how much money the big NY stores spend on Christmas displays just to destroy them after the holidays. Thankfully Castle Noel rescues them so people can enjoy them for years to come. The displays change year after year so a lot of things are different next time you come
A total blast. If you love Christmas movies you will love it here. Only improvement that needs to be made is the gift shop. More items with the castle Noel logo instead of generic movie merchandise would be great.
Had a great time at Castle Noel! Our whole family was enthralled by the NYC window displays. The ride down the slide from A Christmas Story really capped off our day. Make sure to make time for a round of Alien Golf. Weve never seen anything quite like it!
This was so much fun. The staff was super friendly and helpful we had three small children with us and they helped us with the strollers. My oldest grand-baby loved Santa and was so excited to hug him and they loved the slide definitely recommend going!
My husband and I took our son who is 8. He loved it. We had so much fun. It’s a beautiful tour for anyone who loves Christmas and loves Christmas movies. Thank you Mark and Dana for providing a place for all childhood dreams.
I love everything Christmas and going here was a blast! I loved the window displays and the area where some of the displays are stored. The artistry, intricate designs and imagination. The props from some of the best Christmas movies and of course the slide at the end. I felt like a kid again.
The tour was great and had a lot of memories for the 55 year old and also 25 year old. I would highly recommend making a reservation for the guided tour. the Christmas windows and film props were incredible. The tour took almost 2 hours.
We took my aunt and mentally disabled mother here today and they loved it! The staff was soooo nice and accommodating. My aunt has epilepsy and before the attraction with flashing lights, they announced what to expect, and allowed us to skip ahead to the next room. Also, my 60 yr old mother wanted to see Santa at the end and ride the slide. Santa and his elves were so nice and helpful, thank you!!!!
This place is awesome. Diverse collection of all things Christmas. Staff is super friendly. Would have given it 5 stars, but we wished we had more time to explore the exhibits before moving to the next section. Even keeping moving, it took 2 hours to go through it.
We have been visiting Castle Noel every year since they 1st opened. It isnt Christmas til we visit. There is always something new to look at. Mark and Dana are both so very sweet! It truly is a one of a kind place!
This place is great! We met the owners (Mark Klaus and his wife). Great people who have poured their heart and soul into this place. All the workers are friendly and very knowledgeable. Its worth the trip for sure!
I highly recommend it to any business owner. Brought my staff at Perception Multimedia and we all had a blast. Your staff will love it, too!
What an amazing place for all ages! From old movie props to new. A great place for anyone with a whole lot Christma spirit. I cant sit here and tell you about everything from toys to history to a great time. This is a place you need to put on your bucket list no matter how old you are!
This place is so much fun and so much amazing/beautiful things to see! All the staff members were great and upbeat! Special thanks to Mark who took the time to take a picture with my boys and I! My son wanted to meet him more then he wanted to see Santa lol!
Truly a gem in Medina.... Was my first time and it was MORE than I expected all the lights & glitter captured the magic of the holidays while the guided tour and entertainment captured the spirit and FUN of the holidays. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
We loved Castle Noel! They have such a wonderful (and ever-growing) collection of memorabilia! The owner seems like such a fun guy! You can tell he loves what he does here ♡ and their Santa was so nice!
Great time cool stuff
Took our 4 grandsons ages 10 through 16. We all had a blast! The tour was very well done... entertaining and informative. The Vortex, the slide, and the pink bunny pjs were all hits. Hands on ice sculpture outside was an unexpected treat. The Alien Vacation mini golf was hilarious!
It would be hard to say anything negative about this place. The atmosphere, the people, and the displays are all top-notch. They truly capture the spirit of Christmas with all of their old window displays of days pastas well as all of the movie props they have collected that have been used in many famous movies such as the Grinch, The Santa clause 1, 2, and 3, and many others. The tour guides are very knowledgeableand are happy to answer any questions about the particular section that you are in while touring. They allow you to stop and take pictures at your leisure and never rush you. This was a great experience for my family and we will definitely be coming back at least once a year.
Such a fun experience!!
What a wonderful experience! My wife and I really enjoyed seeing all the nostalgic games and toys and finding the ones we had as kids. The windows were our favorite part as they too reminded us of when we were kids. I must say that seeing cousin Eddies RV up close was a blast. Dont know how you do it but thank you! Castle Noel is a real treat!
Wonderful! So much to see and the tour was organized very well.
Totally worth the 7 hour drive and price of admission. The town its located in is a dream too. Awesome staff and incredible experience for Christmas lovers!!!
Our castle noel visit was truly an amazing experience. The staff was extremely friendly and the tour guides did a great job bringing greater understanding of the history of all the displays. It was amazing to see all the toys and other items from when we were kids on display as well as the modern-day displays that amazed our grandkids. Truly an A+ experience!
Absolutely love this place. Our family comes every year for the last 3 years. Its a great tradition we started and will continue for many more years to come
I received National Lampoons squirrel as a gift and it didn’t work right out of the box. I returned it on a busy day and the owner was helpful even though they didn’t have any on their shelves she went to the back and located one. She even put in new batteries to ensure it worked and then gave my daughters two gifts from the gift shop since they had to tag along. Very thoughtful kind people. All the while I didn’t have the receipt or the original box since it got thrown away by accident on Christmas morning, they took my word for it thank you. #christmasspirit
All the movie memorabilia is fantastic and the old store windows displays are really something to see. Worth the price! Dont forget to play Alien Mini Golf downstairs.
Seriously amazing. Of my favorite places in the world, this ranks just slightly behind Disney World. This was our second time through and we vow to go back every Christmas season. The guided tours are AMAZING, the thought and detail put into each room is insane. Anyone not giving this five stars is a complete Grinch. This is Smithsonian quality and BETTER.
Visited yesterday and was completely floored! What an awesome experience. So much to see, thought my head would spin off of my shoulders. All the beautiful ornaments, window displays, I wished our tour had been longer, lol. Santa was the icing on the cake for me, his eyes literally twinkled! Looking forward to next year to see what will be added.
Had a great time would recommend people to go and check Castle Noel out. Nice displays and very interesting for the whole family. The tour guides and other staff are very nice and respectful.
A holiday must for everyone! Young or old there is something for all. Mark has out done himself and thanks for bringing this gem to Ohio!
An experience like no other. Castle Noel should be put on any fan of Christmas wish list.
Absolutely love this place! Sure the wait maybe long if you go during the peak time of the year but that just proves how awesome this place is....everybody wants in, even by the bus loads. The staff is so friendly and so happy. Anybody giving a negative review will certainly love the GRINCH exhibit! Bring out the inner child that a busy adult life buries and remember the real joy of Christmas. Watch your kids eyes light up as you move from exhibit to exhibit. I have 6 kids and almost 9 grandkids...from 48 to 1yr...we so appreciate this collection. Thank you!
The Pros:Castle Noel delivers on the Christmas Spirit. Definitely the most Christmas-themed film memorabilia per square foot outside of Hollywood itself. Lots of authentic props and costumes on display. A clear labor of love. A big part of this collection consists of Christmas window displays from New York department stores. The gift shop features many unique sculptures created by the owner. The Cons:A major detractor of this attraction is how time is managed for guests in line and on the tour. We walked up at 4:45 PM and got out at 9:30 PM.A walk up will cost you:- 1.5 hours in line outside- 1 hour in line inside the gift shopThere are no benches available, but if it is raining they do hand out umbrellas. There does not appear to be a clearly established guest ratio when admitting reservation guests vs. walk-up guests. The staff/owner clearly want to accommodate everyone, but their admission system seems quite off-the-cuff with no apparent rationale for balancing reservations vs. walk ups. This means the walk up line is painfully, painfully, painfully slow. You will see this echoed in many other reviewers commentaries. By the time you are admitted to the tour, you are copletely tired from standing for nearly three hours. The tour system is strictly chaperoned and takes at least two hours. There is no option for a self-guided tour, something Castle Noel should seriously consider adopting into their scheduling. There was one restroom and water fountain at the very beginning of the tour, but it was not announced to visitors. Be warned that there are no restrooms along the tour after the photo gallery (so far as guests were informed). Some reviewers have complained about the pacing through the galleries, or the recorded video presentations about the history of the exhibits. I think this could be alleviated by doing a couple of things:1. Place descriptive label panels in with the props. There is so much context to outfits and objects that would be better read rather than broadcast from a television. I think playing snippets from the films is good atmosphere, but shouldnt be the main focus as it detracts from the objects.2. Dont make video presentations a mandatory part of each exhibit, but rather a kiosk that people can read or watch if they are interested. After waiting 3 hours in a slow line, it is frustrating to not be allowed to freely explore an area. The whole night was 5 hours of standing and waiting to be let in somewhere, or being hurried past things that you wanted more time to enjoy.Recommendation: it is totally worth seeing, but get a reservation first. Be prepared to wait, wait, wait. The staff are enthusiastic and friendly, and you will definitely leave with some fun photos and a story.
My company had our Christmas party there and the room was absolutely perfect. We chose the food and they had it all ready to go for us. They also had someone to provide us drinks. It was a really wonderful set-up. After our party, we went on the guided tour of cattle noel. It was appropriately two hours long. That seems like a long time but it flew by. This time of year is obviously crowded ( specialty on the weekends) so get there early. It was definitely worth it and we will be back again!!
Very neat place. Could definately spend more than 2 hours here looking at everything, but the tour keeps you moving along.
I have no words other then amazing!!! Castle noel is incredible, you can tell this was created out of passion and fun, I loved it, all the rooms and displays are incredible!!! This will be a new yearly tradit6for us to go to every year. I cant wait to go back and neither can my son.
We had our first trip to Castle Noel this past Christmastime and it was unbelievable. The man who runs is, Mark Clause, has a true passion for Christmas and it shows in everything he has made and collected here. From movie props of some of the most beloved holiday classics to window displays from New York City department stores to the original Christmas Story slide you go down after seeing Santa, it is sure to bring out the kid in you and make wonderful memories with your own kids too! A must stop if you are in the Northeast Ohio area! So much fun.
Best place ever! Love love the Christmas spirit when you go there. Thank you Mark for taking the time to talk to us and take a picture with us!
Such an amazing place! Highly recommend!
My family LOVES Castle Noel! Have been several times and enjoy the experience every time. There is so much to see and experience. It is an absolute MUST for the Christmas enthusiast!
Cool place but not for children.... Especially not a toddler. Its a 2 hour guided tour of Christmas movie props. I highly recommend leaving your children at home if they are under like 5.
Fun, family friendly. Call ahead & book your time otherwise you will wait around forever for tour to start... forever!
We had an amazing time! Everything was stunning!! I highly recommend reserving your spot so you’re not standing out in the cold.
Mark Klause is an incredible man. Created truly magical memories for my family! You have to go!
Love this place . If you are driving through so worth a visit. Plan to go back soon. P.s. ad some bumper stickers in your gift shop .please. you guys are awesome
It was like walking through my childhood with my kids... Especially since my older son had watched with me quite a few of the movies that they had props and customs from.Additionally, with Mark, the owner on hand to greet you in the lobby, it was reminiscent of the early days of Disney...
My husband and I take our grandkids on a surprise Christmas themed trip every Black Friday. This year we chose Castle Noel and we were not disappointed. From the 14 year old to the 2 year old they were amazed. Beautiful decorations, interesting facts, and fun all wrapped into one location. We will be back
Loved it! Just wish there had been more time to look at the exhibits. I will definitely go again.
Christmas magic! If you love Christmas this is a place you must check out! Tour is about 2 hours long and worth the money!
This was a very special place with a wonderful variety of displays.I would recommend making reservations, especially as we get closer to the holidays.I would also want you to know that this is not entirely accessible if one uses a wheelchair or a scooter. There are several places where stairs must be navigated.
Better than expected but think they should do smaller groups. Would have liked more time at some of the areas.
Had a good time and see a lot of neat things. We took our children ages almost 1 and 2 year old the staff did a great job with them. Very friendly staff. Thank you Castle Noel.
Fun place for a family outing! Lots of really cool Christmas themed displays and attractions!
What a fun place for all ages! Mark and his team have done such an amazing job making us all feel like kids again!! Thank you!
Wasnt sure what to expect when we walked in. But I was pleasantly surprised. It was fun and interesting to see the Christmas store displays from Macys and Nordstrom. Costumes from Elf and other epic Christmas movies. We even met the creator who was working on new creations for the upcoming holiday season. Kids and adults will enjoy it.
It will turn you into a child again! The owners have such a passion for what they do. If you need a unique gift, this is a treasure chest !
We took our staff here for a fun night after having dinner and they enjoyed it! It puts you in the Christmas spirit.
What a great place! Every attraction was stunning. This place definitely gets you in the Christmas spirit!
If you are really into movies and props this is the place for you. A ton of work has gone into this place. Im not much of a movie fan so the props didnt interest me. The window displays showed great artistry. Staff was awesome.
If you really enjoy being a kid at Christmas, then strap on your seatbelts cause this family business is the real deal. Be sure to make a reservation during busy times. Our group of 6 walked in and had to wait 45 mins. Its not cheap @ $20 ea. (Adults) but Im confident youll feel it was worth it, once youve lost track of time on the guided tour of their nothing short of spectacular collection of movie and television props, pictures and infamous New York storefront window displays. Another OH gem that shouldnt be missed!
Nice place if you like Christmas memorabilia, the lines are very long if that tells you anything and the Accommodate the handicap very well !
It was fun and interesting. The staff really enjoys what they do and are very engaging.
Huge center for Christmas memorabilia from many movies and windows. Fun place to go for kids and families.
We brought our daughter, son and their families to Castel Noel. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It was the first time for all 7 grandkids. We will see you next year. Thank you for having the passion to continue to entertain us all. Have a very Merry Christmas.
Was cool experience but was pricey for a guided tour of christmas scenes and movie memorabilia. Owner mark klaus was cool many cool window scenes youll never see anywhere else. Not really my type of place but was a alright way to spend the afternoon
This was our 4th year to visit Castle Noel and it was as magical as it was year 1. It should be on everyone holiday tradition list!
Cool, interesting, movie props, beautiful decor, creative displays, wonderful tour guides. Friendly, family atmosphere.
Loved it! Only giving it a four because you definitely need to make reservations for your tickets. Waited in a long line with nowhere for anyone to sit, especially you have someone in your group that would have that need. Otherwise, wonderful collection of Christmas movie memorabilia and NYC Christmas store window displays.
Amazing place!
