Its always busy!! I love seeing the community utilizing parks!The picnic tables are plentiful, great place to eat lunch!

One of my favorite places to run. The Vollmer Road Grove is easy to get to, has sufficient parking, and is a decent distance in length.I prefer a longer trail - this one is 3.6 miles if you do the whole loop - but its also very conveniently located. You can get a longer trail in Palos or Orland or Willow Springs - or Schaumberg - but Vollmer Grove is local and convenient.Also, unlike many of the other trails in the South burbs, the trail does not cross any public streets. This trail is entirely self contained, yet has several neighborhood access points in case you need to bail out for any reason (such as a turn in weather) or if you want to enter off the main road.The trail is wooded canopy for most of the way, but the last third has an open meadow to one side and woodlands on the other. Its a nice, easy run (or walk). Its only 3.6 miles, but when you are pressed for time or simply want an uninterrupted run this is the place to go.

So I didnt realize until I started walking the distance of this trail. I just wanted to get out and clear my head. I did that and I enjoyed the company of others.

Nice little forest preserve grove. shelter and tables, portable toilets, bike parking, generally flat 3.6 mile paved trail marked at the 1/4 mile points, in and out of forest and meadow, a couple of ponds and streams. draws a steady group of joggers, bike riders, and walkers. nice picnic facilities. occasional talk of car break ins so be aware.

Beautiful nature preserve... Good walking trail and peaceful. Love taking my dog there to walk.People are friendly. Safe and police patrolling grounds.Highly recommend

My favorite walking trail. You are all but guaranteed to see a deer. Its such a beautiful trail! And I always feel safe walking there as it well populated.

I stop by here a lot and watch the walkers and the runners and sometimes smoke a cigar. But I just like being here and people are always friendly!!!

I love walking here, they keep the place clean, tended and paved. The only downside is ignorant people who have loud radios on their bikes and talk on their cell phone so everyone can here their conversation
