Mt. Marquette Overlook

A quick drive or a scenic hike bring you by car, orv, bike, or foot, up to this absolute gem. Come in the fall and enjoy the view of autumn colors and windy day cloudscapes. Lots of space to rummage around on the boulders, take pictures, and just hang out

It is absolutely worth your time to see this place. Possibly the best view of Marquette!

Its kinda fun trundling up the long, steep hill, and the views are glorious! To my knowledge, this is the only place in the Marquette area where you can drive up to such a picturesque overlook.

Great view over the city of Marquette! The road leading up is pretty steep and is a one way.

The view was fantastic. There was an ore boat on Lake Superior and it looked like a toy. I met a wonderful couple with their dog. I was filled with a sense of peace and gratitude. And it was an awesome place to test out Google cardboard.

Definitely one of the best places to get a great view of fall colors! Highly recommended.

July 16 2020, very nice overlook. Watch out for all of the nails on the ground from burning wood with nails.

Love this spot. Its good for a long hike, picnic, or a quick drive for a beautiful view. Its much less crowded than other beautiful, scenic places around. Lots of wild berries and perfect place to set up and draw/paint or read.

Walk up, drive up or snowmobile up its beautiful up there. Ever season gives a new look. The trail is groomed for snowmobiles. Its a steep drive in the summer, sometimes it get a little rutted. I have only walked up in the winter from the Marquette Mountain side. Its 0.8 miles up from that side and a bit steep in places.

I love this place because it offers a very pretty view of the town. Its pretty diffcult getting up there in the winter unless you have a snowmobile as the road becomes a snowmobile trail.

Awesome time to visit. The passed couple years it has been cloudy. This time it was as clear as a bell and I could see a ton!

Amazing view, bit of a technical drive to the top, but worth it! Remember its a one way loop from east to west, starting on hwy 41!

If your camping at rippling river resort you can ride your bike right up there. Beautiful view

Be very careful on the drive as its one-way for cars, but not necessarily for bikes and hikers. The drive is ONE-WAY ONLY from east to west, so dont believe Google or your GPS if they tell you that you can approach from the west!!Its also a very steep, bumpy, gravel road, but its fine if you take it slow.Be sure to obey all signs to avoid accidents. For example: They mean it when they say no trailers !
