I am new to reefing and Mike and James have been incredible to work with. As a beginner I’ve had numerous questions and they always take time to fully explain anything I ask of them. They have been responsive, knowledgeable and friendly. They have been honest and forthcoming when asked about progressing my tank and when giving recommendations. I would (and already have) recommended this store to anyone who asks about my tank. The other staff members that have helped me are also seem friendly, but I simply haven’t interacted with them as much as I have with James and Mike. Thanks for all that you’ve done for me and continue to do and I’ll certainly be back soon with more questions.

I visited the store from my car during the pandemic because I am high risk and am socially distancing. I ordered 2 bettas, a bunch of corydoras, and some other random supplies. I was nervous about having someone else pick out my fish for me, but I could not be happier. My fish are all beautiful and healthy. Fish Mike’s will be my go to store going forward.

Over the last two or so years Ive purchased a number of fish and very special bugs and arachnids from Fish Mikes. Each and everyone was well cared for in the store and continued to thrive under proper care at home. Staff is always very sweet and passionate even when theyre busy. As a pet owner its your responsibility to do your research first, most businesses in the pet trade will not have the time to hold your hand through the entire process, and unless stated otherwise, run under the assumption you know what youre doing. Despite that theyre always happy to answer any questions you may have and are knowledgeable about the pets they sell. Highly recommend if youre looking for experienced and honest recommendations for your fish tanks or otherwise.

I started keeping fish in February, and the expertise I get at Mike’s has been genuinely so helpful in my journey. They are always willing to answer questions, and offer advice without making me feel inexperienced. It’s a really great environment, and the selection of plants and livestock has always been good. I also get my Dubias for my tarantula there as well, and they’re super communicative about their current availability. I genuinely think this shop is part of why this has become such a fulfilling and enjoyable hobby for my household!

I come into the store frequently, and the staff has always been helpful and friendly. The staff has been knowledgeable on most occasions, and even when the store has been pretty busy, or a shipment was being put away, the staff has always taken the time to welcome me into the store or ask if I need help. The selection of fish and supplies is excellent, and Fish Mike Aquatics has become my go-to aquarium store. Other than an interaction where an employee wasn’t knowledgeable and had to ask another staff member about whether or not two species were different and then assumed that I wouldn’t know the difference between the two, I have had nothing but positive experiences here.

I found this gem of a store while in Manchester for the reptile expo. My boyfriend and I looked for places around town that had reptiles and fish, and we came upon Fish Mike Aquatics! We still have our leopard gecko from here 2 years later, and have stopped in many times to get fish. As we expand our hobby from freshwater to saltwater in the coming months, we will be sure to stop here for fish. Always healthy, well stocked, clean tanks as well! We have had a great experience all 3 times we went, and I love being able to look without someone down my throat like other stores do. Never once have I had a bad experience with fish mikes. My family and I have been shopping here for about a year and a half and have built a great relationship with the owner (mike). So nice to walk in a fish shop and have the owner/employees know you and your setups.Best fish in NH hands down so knowledgeable.

Pretty good variety of fish. Lots of supplies too, but not the most knowledgeable staff. Definately worth checking out though if you want a unique fish or fish supplies.

I started the aquarium hobby again after 20 years because my little one won a goldfish! 3 tanks later I am now fully engulfed. This is the only store I go to for advice on fresh and salt. They do their best to lead you right. So far I have been extremly happy with all the advice I have been given and I have three mini water ecosystems thriving!

I have been shopping at this store for almost 5 years. They are my ‘go to’ for the advice and equipment to solve any problem. They are usually really busy tho, and you have to be patient at times, cause every customer is their sole focus, one at a time, but it is worth it when your turn comes. In the meantime, there is so much to look at, you are likely to find things that you didn’t even know you needed yet!Prices are always competitive, which is amazing for a small shop, but sometimes they even beat the big stores prices.They also will special order unusual tank sizes and parts!My only negative for Mikes, is I wish they would do better by their bettas. No need for such tiny bowls, can’t even see the shape of the fish. But that is a pretty minor issue over all.In summary, If you haven’t been there, set aside an hour, write down what you want, and set a budget before you go, I promise you will be pleased!

So happy to have found this place! Great selection of freshwater fish (check their Facebook page for weekly stock list). Selection is so much better than your standard chain pet stores. Tanks were clean and fish were active and healthy. Ill be going back for sure.

Fish Mikes is an amazing local business. The customer service is amazing!!! They have all been extremely patient with me and ALL my questions about fresh water fish and now Dart frogs. If it wasnt for their patience and lessons I would not have fish or frogs. Thank you!!!! Keep up the amazing work.

I love this place! They are the best place to get frozen rats for my snakes. I’ve never had an issue with any of the rats that I bought from there and they are a lot cheaper than chain pet stores. They are really knowledgeable about all of the animals that they have in the store and they take really good care of them. I will continue to go to this business as long as I live in New Hampshire.

I will start by saying that Mike is an honest, amazing and very knowledgeable person. Before i buy something from his store i do my own research an compare it to his opinion, then i make my own decision. Any type of tank set up can be very tricky and could be very easy with the right research or it could be very hard and expensive with no research. Never had any problem with Mikes opinion or any of his products or service. I will be his client as long as Im in the tank hobby.

Always have had a good experience here when visiting the few times I did. Employees were friendly and helped me choose the right gender shrimp to encourage breeding, werent pushy when I openly decided to go with lower priced species or was indecisive about what plants to choose. Ive seen a few really good deals on things like smaller cube aquariums here too versus the big box stores.Nice to have a successful independent business here with an owner who seems to care about each customers experience.

I would highly recommend Fish Mikes to anyone looking for fish or aquarium supplies. They dont have a fish youre looking for? Just ask and Im sure they would happily order it for you (like they did for me). I trust them when it comes to the health of my aquarium and my fish. Every fish I have came from them with the exception of one snail and one betta. Every fish that I bought from the big box pet stores has died. With this tank, we lost only 4 out of 25. The rest of the tank is blooming and thriving.

Tucked away shop doesnt have the nicest outside appearance but the inside is beautiful. Friendly and helpful staff and many healthy looking fish.

I’m more than happy making the 45 min drive so regularly because I know I’m going to be met with outstanding customer service & large selection of products I need for my saltwater & freshwater aquariums, reptiles and plants. I’ve never left this store with a question unanswered nor have I ever had a doubt in my mind that the fish/coral/supplies I buy here are in anything but perfect condition. Cant wait to come back!

Ive purchased tons of supplies, a green tree python, crested gecko and more. Nothing but 10 out of 10 service. Theyre very informative for everything on fish, reptiles and more, plus, I have even seen them go out of their way to do even more, like test water samples for customers to ensure their tanks are safe and recommend what they need to get their tanks just right. Even during the lockdown, they went the extra mile to have toilet paper for those who needed to get a roll from somewhere (and werent charging an arm and a leg for them).The entire crew over at Mikes go that extra mile and are passionate for what they do (plus bring in the occasional extra rare animals to mix it up!)

I mainly come in here for frozen mice for my western hognose. This is truly the best reptile/aquarium in our area. I don’t want to buy mice through a chain pet store and I don’t want to pay a huge shipping fee, so I stop here on my way home from work. All of the employees are super helpful. They’ve also been amazing with their COVID policies. The “red light/green light” idea was genius. They’re doing everything they can to stay open and keep everyone safe. I really appreciate that.

The only place I trust to get saltwater fish, crabs and supplies in NH. I’ve been many times and the selection varies but there is always a good mix to choose from. Mike is very knowledgable and the other staff are helpful when you chat with them. I appreciate their patience with me as I tend to ask a whole bunch of questions to try to learn more about the hobby.

I have been going to Fish Mike’s Aquatics for about a year now since my girlfriend & I got into the fish keeping hobby. We have gone to numerous local and big box aquatics stores in that time, and none of them can compete with the quality of care Fish Mike & staff put into their fish & keeping their customers happy. With that being said - we will ONLY buy our fish and other livestock from Mike. We never have to question the quality of fish we buy. If there were to be a problem apparent with a fish, Mike’s staff will be quick to point out such problem and refrain from making a quick sale to ensure you aren’t sold a sick or dying fish that could potentially infect your tank. There have been no questions, problems, or concerns that have arisen where Mike and his staff can not provide a viable solution. Each member of the team has extensive knowledge of the fish keeping hobby and many years of experience. Fish Mike and all staff go above and beyond when it comes to customer service & running an honest local shop. I never have to second guess any dollar spent here.

Ive been going to this store for probably 4-5 years and every visit is amazing. Extremely helpful and friendly staff, and very good quality livestock (I have only had 1 infected fish ever from Mikes, and it was my fault it infected my tank because I didnt quarantine it. If you have ever bought fish from petsmart or petco, 1 bad fish in 5 years is very, very good). They have lots of freshwater fish, and a little bit more limited but still good quality saltwater fish, and somewhat many reptiles and amphibians. As a valued customer I sometimes get small things discounted or for free when the store is doing well, like how once a staff member gave me a free plant as a thank-you for always buying from them. If they dont have a fish in stock you can ask them to put one on hold for you when they get a new shipment, especially if it is a common species. Ive never met a rude or unhelpful staff member at Mikes, and he gives great advice. They are always helpful and willing to aid you when the tank is doing good and bad. Thanks, Mikes Aquatics!

They told me I couldnt bring My Kids in.... and were rude when I asked if I could use a Mask.... but they were Just Ok... No Zoo Creatures anyway... At least they let you Bring Your Kids in... I didnt see Much for my Tegus either... which is why I was going.. overall disappointing... The employee was Kind of Rude too.... 3 stars is generous, but they Seemed like a nice Little Pet store...

Bought 2 cat fish from here Thursday. Brought them home less than 4 hours later they were dead. I tried calling them to let them know and it went right to voicemail. I tried for 2 days to let them know. In the meantime I had my tank tested as I was worried about my other fish. I have had them for years with out any problems. Levels were fine no issues. I finally contacted Mikes and explained the situation. He told me he doesnt warranty live animals. I said they died less than 4 hours. I explained that I had it all tested. Sent him the picture of the dead fish as he requested. Its been a run around clearly he doesnt care. Upsetting because this was my first time going here and he had good reviews so I figured I was fine. Clearly I was wrong. I guess Ill continue to shop at a big corporations. So much for supporting the little business.

Awesome shop, if you are into aquariums or looking to get into the hobby. This shop can get you started. They have a very large variety of fish from common to the more rare unseen species. Alos a decent selection of plants that are all very healthy and have never had an issue with melting or die off. Also available here are some reptiles, along with feeders such as worms crickets etc. Along with freshwater fish they also have a good selection of saltwater fish as well as corals and frags. The staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable in the hobby. Any questions you may have will for sure be answered accurately and efficiently. Two thumbs up.

My goto store for everything fish !Have a small tank of guppies and shrimp with a few otocats.They have the healthiest and wonderful selection of fish.The staff are very attentive and helpful.

Ive had fish tanks for several years now. I remember when I was a little kid growing up having a goldfish every so often, but that was about it. Never thought much after that until I became an adult. I never knew how much time and effort and research it takes into setting up an aquarium. Making sure you have all the right products, chemicals for treating the water ect. Mikes fish store is truly an amazing place to shop at. I was super excited when I found this store and I ABSOLUTELY would RECOMMEND it to my friends and family. Anytime Ive gone in and had any questions that needed answers I always left with my questions answered. Its always a friendly atmosphere and like I said Ive always been helped with my concerns If I walked in with any about my tanks. If I had any questions ways Ive communicated with the stores was either via Facebook messanger asking if there was a certain fish in stock, called the store or stopped by during hours. You cant do that with big chain stores. Its call or go in and a lot of times its go in.. Another reason I choose to purchase things from Mikes store over big chain stores is because you never know what kinds of fish hell have in the store and you most definitely wont find them half the time in a chain store its also not overly crowded with people which is nice as well. Ive always felt welcomed in the store and have never been turned away. I highly recommend checking out the store and see what it has to offer you wont be disappointed, but from one fish owner to the the potential next. Please dont just purchase any fish and stick it in your tank. Make sure you do research and ask questions before making any purchases! Just because you like something doesnt mean it will be compatible with the rest of its tank mates.

I have never had such a positive experience purchasing aquatic critters. The gentleman on that day was incredibly knowledgeable, comfortable giving advice based on my experience level and at-home set-up— it was evident he cared not only about the customer experience but helping educate the consumer to provide a high quality of life in their aquarium. Cannot recommend enough!

TLDR; Best fish store in New Hampshire. Yes Ive been to that other big place. Still stand by my statement. They have a great selection of fish, reptiles, invertebrates, plants, etc.Over the past few years I have been going here, Ive watched this store grow and add more great products. The staff is friendly and helpful. Mike always does his best to help when he is available and is very knowledgeable, but also very honest about his experiences. When it comes to aquariums, fish can be unpredictable and maintaining tanks can be a challenge. One may have a completely different experience with combining aquatic life than others.Last year I moved to the East side of the state, about an hour away. I still travel to Fish Mikes today, due to my trust of the store and enjoyment of their displays(their display tanks and bioactive setups are awesome).This store is also the only store I trust really to take in any fish that arent working out. Sometimes things dont go well, like I said different tanks different experiences, and I trust Fish Mikes to find a quality home for the fish.The fish I have from him are doing fantastic. I bought a group of beautiful bronze corydoras from him maybe 2 years ago and they are still doing great. They actually regularly lay eggs. I let some hatch once, but since then I have let birth control(also known as angelfish) take care of the eggs. One of them is called Big Mama, or Fat Amy depending on the day.

Helped me build my first ever 35g saltwater tank made the process easy and they had everything i needed great prices and amazing customer service will be getting all my supplies from them!

I think this is the best fish store in Manchester. Their tanks are clean, they do not sell a fish if they think it needs to be medicated first, they are very honest. They give helpful advice, are dog friendly, and I get a greeting the minute I walk in. I do think their prices can be a bit higher than what I am used too, but the fish are very good quality.The premises are clean and well maintained, as are the tanks. Their terrariums are amazingly beautiful, worth going just to have a look around.

Went in a year or so back and was very pleased with the selection of fish and reptiles! So, I went back 2 days ago, as Im building a new fish tank community (baby fish!!) and I needed some info on what my next steps should be and what equipment I may need. Mike and (Dan?) were EXTREMELY knowledge, down to earth, and pretty funny..but most of all HONEST. Not just trying to make the sales-straight passion for the creatures. Great fish store to go to. I go in there regularly to talk to staff and purchase plants and fish. If you want great plants and healthy fish than this place is for you. They are always willing to test your water parameters to make sure your system is healthy and ready for fish. If you want knowledgeable and friendly people to chat aquariums with then go to Mikes.

They have a great selection of fresh and saltwater fish and accessories, and some reptiles (which I know even less about).The Mike and the girl there are fantastically knowledgeable and happy to spend some time explaining what is what.Even though their mascot was a little cranky today =), I always look forward to stopping in.

Called tonight and spoke with Mike about a few questions and concerns I had about purchasing a saltwater aquarium. Mike spend nearly 20 minutes of his time explaining the ins and outs of owning a tank and the cost considerations. He was honest and truly professional. Highly recommend this business.

Hes doing it right. Every tank has its own HOB filter. Great selection of fish. Good prices on fish. Equipment is a little more than the chain stores but its to be expected from a mom and pop style store. Will visit again. Glad to give my money to him.

Not one person said hello to me as I walked into the store, some reviews claim they have a largeSelection of fish but from what I saw it was not at all a large selection. Even when I was leaving non of the employees said thanks for coming or even acknowledged me in the store . Two stars is way too high for this fish store

The staff Ive met were highly knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile to make sure customers had the best experience possible.They can be very busy on certain days, so dont be surprised if you have to wait a few minutes for help.

The staff is extremely helpful and PATIENT with answering questions. Huge selection of fresh water/salt water fish/corals. Big selection of tanks and will order what ever tank you desire. Everything you need in one shop and if he doesnt have it, he will get it. Extremely fun being there on delivery days. Never have issues with livestock or corals.

I just found Fish Mike this past year. The owner is usually available to chat with and ask for advice from... but also his employees have always been VERY helpful to me. This past weekend I picked up a few new corals from Fish Mike... and words don’t do them justice, take a look at the pics. I would say this is my new favorite LFS.

Absoultley beautiful store with well kept tanks. Great variety of fish and products that were all well priced. Very healthy looking reptiles fed fresh veggie/fruit salads that were fit for a king. Highly recommend.

Went there to order a new turtle tank and stand, Mike was supposed to get back with a price for me, my wife called twice and he still did not have a price, that was 2 months ago

Owner is helpful, and very knowledgeable about fish. Best of all, fish are well cared for and healthy. Wide selection of unique freshwater fish you will not see elsewhere in NH. Plus he will actually order in any unique fish you want, and usually have them within 1 to 2 weeks.Complete opposite of cookie cutter big chain stores, many with unhealthy, everyday fish. Prices are decent also.
