What a really cool theater. The staff are courteous and helpful in guiding people. The seating is comfortable and the atmosphere is heated/cooled efficiently. The design allows for good visibility from all seats and clear acoustics as well. I look forward to seeing more productions there.
Been here twice. Once for a conference and once for a performance. The seats are comfortable, and there is air conditioning vents under the chairs, so you may want to bring a jacket. The sound and lighting systems are great, and it was a really nice atmosphere. In addition to this, there is ample parking and they have a Subway right across the street. Would go back for more performances or conferences.
I go to the Hilton three times annually and have with my family for at least 4 years now. The building is beautiful and spacious. Musical performances here are amplified by the large amount of space for reverberation and acoustics. The staff are very friendly and offer guidance to fond your seats or information about the performance. There is always snack and beverage in the foyer as well as easily accessible restrooms. Almost every show I have been to here is very well produced and affordable(tickets range from $30 - $60) on average. Russian ballet, Celtic river dancing, african drumming performance, and even Japanese acrobats are all experiences i have enjoyed because of the Hilton. Its a great place.
Ive supported the Hylton Center for years and loved taking my family to see shows there. Its a beautiful theater and they have some really good entertainment. However, the fees they charge on top of ticket prices is ridiculous and Im asking you to stand with me and complain! The last show I wanted to attend had a ticket price of $37 but the fine print included a +$5 fee! Why the heck is there any fee when everything is automated! I even print my own tickets using my own ink and paper! This is no joke. These people are trying to charge +$20 for their own pockets. This has nothing to do with the performing arts and everything to do with scamming. Please boycott until they remove their outrageous and excessive fees!
When I was in 6th grade 1 year ago this place was amazing. There is a wide range of seats available. The seats are comfy and the play I watched was filled with people with disabilities. They play nonetheless was beautiful, heartwarming and sends a good message to whoever sees it.
Its always a pleasure going there. Easy to get to, ample, easy, very short walk parking. Beautiful, state of the art center. Very clean, well maintained. Vibes like the Kennedy Center only smaller scale. Sign up for classes or attend performances. You will not be disappointed. The prices are incredible for the quality programming presented.
No need to spend a fortune for excellent seats. My party was center balcony for a performance of The Nutcracker with Manassas Ballet Theater and Orchestra. We had full view of the entire stage and the sound quality of the orchestra was excellent.
Great place i will remember this place for the rest of my life bc my mom took her citizenship here it was amazing the staff was so on point and organized walked ppl to their seat and organized the entrance and the exit to the ppl . Great event and congratulations to my mom for being US citizen I love you mom
Great performances at even better prices. There is no bad seats in the house. There is plenty of leg room and the seats are staggered so that you are looking between 2 seats rather than at the back of someones head. Only complaint is if you want a drink or snack its cash only and there are no ATMs. Im grateful to have this theater nearby.
What could be more beautiful than the Nutcracker ballet on Christmas? Artists in this theater created magic, thanks to them. beautiful scenery and costumes, professional artists who have invested wonderful emotions in dancing.
Beautiful venue, wide variety of shows, great accommodations for limited mobility folks, box office staff is great at helping with seat selection and I go here a LOT lol
We went for my kids school field trip so it wasnt exactly your normal experience, but the facility looked nice and they were updating some things outside. There are also a number of places to eat/drink in the area. We plan to find something to see there in the not too distant future and have a little date night. Looks like a good excuse to get dressed up!
Such a nice theatre and great people. We saw the Nutcracker and could not have been happier. Special thanks to Mr. Marc Wolfe!
Easily accessible. Plenty of ground level parking. Restaurants across though not always open. As compare to most other Arts Centers this place is much more open and easy tonget to.
Beautiful architecture. Helpful and friendly ushers.
A stunning Chic industrial style building with wonderfully expose cement and infrastructure. There are plenty of seats, and due to this style of the building there is no bad seats because nothing is blocking your view. The acoustics are superb, the stage well-placed comma and the lighting perfect allow the focus to be on the stage and nothing else.
Beautiful Arts Center!! We are very fortunate to have a place so close to our Neighborhoods!!
It was really nice in there. Make sure to bring a sweater though its really cold. The show I watched was spectacular and I had really good seats. Youll be able to watch from any seat in there honestly.
The way the space is designed there really isnt a bad seat in the house. Great place to attend any sort of performance.
Fresh food you cant find in a grocery store. The staff is amazing.
Nice venue, not a bad seat in the place. Show was not great... but will try again some day.
Its got a lot of stalls in ladles room. Good seating just a little small.
Plenty of parking, and a really nice venue. Classy lady clean and staff has always been really nice and knowledgeable.
We went to see a Opera Mesdames de la Halle, it was wonderful and very entertaining. The students were from George Mason University.
Very good place
Beautiful facility. Great sight lines and great acoustics. Id lobe to see a jazz band or a rock show here
Great venue and the people that volunteer here are beyond friendly and nice.
Excellent performance, such talented dancers and great sounding band! Never disappoints!
Love this place — this is a gem for Manassas and for Prince William County. This place is designed as an Opera House, not just an auditorium. That means that the space is very vertical with multiple levels and that everyone is ultimately pretty close to the stage with a good view no matter where your seat is. So, when you see the giant architectural volume jutting towards the sky outside, be ready to experience the interior space that is open to nearly the same size — very dramatic!!! I did not catch the exact opera house, but apparently the Hylton Center is designed closely after one in France. The modern elements of the architecture are really well designed — I particularly appreciated the winding staircase to the various levels of box seats. I also liked the way that the exterior copper skin finds its way into the interior lobby space — a nice connection between the inside and the outside of the architecture. The people working here are great. The acoustics during our performance were very good. For a moment I thought I was at the Kennedy Center ... !
Very organized. The staff was so helpful. The chairs in the auditorium had names of donors on their back. The location is great. I guess the parking could be a problem if its a big event. Overall, it was clean and organized.
We come for the Hylton Family Series shows. Kid friendly shows at a reasonable price. The theater is nice, clean, comfortable and the kids shows are lots of fun. Weve seen Ladybug Girl, The Phantom Tollbooth, and Henry and Mudge recently and my kids have enjoyed all three.
Great Staff, great shows! Venue accommodations, lighting and sound are all top notch. We regularly enjoy the Manassas City Ballet, especially because the pit orchestra adds so much power to the performances.
Its is a bueatful place perfomce amazing
Convenient, easy to park and access, not a bad seat in the house, excellent performances and affordable!
Beautiful building with tons of free parking. They are doing the Nutcracker there now.
Very comfortable room, and you can see/hear from almost every angle. The downside is it can get very busy quickly because it is a popular place.
Ive been to the Manassas Ballet 3 times there now. Very good. Nice place. Good view of the stage.
Good facility. AWS Girls Tech Day 2019 was held here.
The Hylton Performing Arts Center is a beautiful building. Parking is a close walk and there is a drop off point in front of the facility. The seating is comfortable and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Light snacks and drinks are usually served during intermission. Everyone should catch a play, musical, or symphony here; It makes for a wonderful family or date night. Young or old the performing arts are good for you!
A beautiful, clean concert hall without all the fuss of trudging into the city. We saw The Nutcracker with a 5 and 3 year old. It was a great performance and very family friendly.
Fun evening. Gracious staff
George Mason uses Hylton to hold their graduation. The graduating program was wonderful and the seats were comfortable. Parking was free at their parking lot.
From a performers point of view:I have played both on the stage and in the orchestra pit here. It has the largest pit I have ever seen. They have a concert grand piano down there, ample room for percussion, and a lift to get down. The stage sounds nice as well. The seats in Merchant Hall are comfy and spacious, and the sound for the audience is well balanced wherever you sit. They have a very large back stage area for performers as well, with plenty of dressing and rest rooms.Parking is free for events and during rehearsals. Two complaints: 1, this centre is out in the middle of nowhere. GPS will take you the wrong way if you enter the address as its written on Google. Instead of turning right once you have entered the campus, turn left. Follow the road til the end and HPAC will be on your right.Second complaint: the exterior looks like the sarcophagus at Chernobyl. Great interior, but who would have guessed based on what you see from the outside?
Great venue, really nice theater, just a little disappointed with the bait and switch. We went to see the nutcracker, put on by the Northern Virginia Ballet and the first mention of it being a youth performance was on the program while we were in our seats. Double checked tickets and the email confirmation and no mention of youth anywhere. The performance was enjoyable just think that its super shady to not let the patrons decide on seeing a youth rendition or not. Box seats closest to the stage are kind of crammed and not a good viewing angle.
Great show.......beautiful facility with gracious staff. I wish bigger shows would perform there. Orchestra was great....a prop fell on the violinist.....laughed it off.
Its good family fun for all ages!
A friendly environment to enjoy artistic performances.
Kids were included in the show. He made them feel so special. Really sparked their interest.
I did not like the seats, by time I got out of there my back was killing me and my knees felt like someone hit them with a baseball bat
Great place, but I just find out, that they will open the doors to a very bad group Los kjarkas from Bolivia, I guess they are ready to have people outside protesting.
Saw excerpts of The Nutcracker with my students. Beautiful place and gracious hosts to us. Very well organized. Highly recommend!
The show was wonderful as they always are.
Nice staff. Comfortable
The acoustic set up of this place is phenomenal!
Perform here several times a year with students and Manassas Chorale. Great staff and a lovely venue.
Wonderful venue for watching shows and performing in them.
Great place clean views are descent. Have taken the family to a number of shows. Our daughters are also in dance and acting classes which they end up performing here as well. Seats could be a little wider but with most places like this its typical. Definitely not stuffy and is where chair accessible. In addition there are few food establishments within walking distance. Tickets can be physical and electronic. They use scanners to scan tickets regardless on paper or digital.
The facility is quite nice; the staff was nothing but friendly and professional. Parking for the building is convenient and free. I saw other reviews complaining about the amount of wine they received when they purchased some; Im not sure why though because of mine and other patrons had a nice amount. (BTW a serving size is 5oz, and 6 if someone is feeling generous.) Honestly, the entire night was perfect. I will definitely come back and recommend others to visit the Hylton Performing Arts Center for an event.
Visited it once for an international art and acrobat performance during a cold winter evening. There seems to be enough parking space. The center is not extremely big, but nice and cozy for a good show.
Our family of 5 attended The Nutcracker on Friday, November 24. The ballet was delightful and I cannot say enough positive comments about The Hylton Center. It is a beautiful facility and the entire staff is friendly and upbeat. This was our third time attending events at The Hilton Center, and a third, wonderful experience. We are so fortunate to live close by!
Very nice venue but a cellular black hole for tmobile customers. Make sure you sign into the public wifi when youre outside (they need to text or email you your password).
Very Enjoyable and Inspirational to the same sky project
Our kids had a great time their this last Saturday. Clean, good parking, lovely theatre.
Always wonderful shows in a beautiful venue.
This is a great place to catch a show and introduce your young one to theatre. The tickets for most performances are very affordable. Pied Piper productions are awesome and they will give you and idea if you little one is ready to see something like Lion King on Broadway before you spend a fortune
It was a very nice place to watch my daughters dance recital. Very clean and there seemed to be no bad seats.
I am from Galveston Texas and I will TELL EVERYONE I KNOW what a UNBELIEVABLE experience I had here in Virginia at the Performing Arts Center:::: My brother and his wife live in Bristol and I pray to God I get to come back!!!! Thanks to ALL THE PEOPLE that made the NUTCRACKER possible on his birthday!!!!! 11-24-18!!! Bless you all!!!
Great venue. Love the Pied Piper productions
Staff is wonderful. Clean facilities. Show was cute.
Excellent location for the large community event!
Wonderful venue for a variety of performances. The seats are very small, but that is not uncommon these days. Acoustics are great. Parking is plentiful. Snacks and drinks for sale.
This place is a new, high-quality performance place. Not a bad seat in the place and excellent acoustics! Good parking, easy to get to if you are not local and across the street from a couple very nice, affordable restaurants.
Beautiful facility and great show. 3 stars because our groups seating arrangement was bizarre - split up by a grey ugly cement wall and split between rows instead of all together. Strange!
Clean, well designed, all seats good.
Comfortable seating with friendly staff. Great performing acts.
Beautiful and clean. Great ballet performance
A nice, elegant medium to small size performing arts center. Professional staff and most seating has a great view of the stage - well designed and good acoustics. Recommend this place to see a good live show even right here in suburbia!
Two great performance spaces. The small one has tables, the larger is a more standard auditorium. The seats are quite comfortable.Beverages and snacks and sometimes light food available for purchase.
Amazing acoustics! Loved watching AFPO last night!
Nice stuff we were gathered for a ceremony thank you
Hylton Performing Arts Center was great! They have 3 areas where they have programs, shows, or events. We went to see Prince William Little Theatres production of Anne of Greene Gables. (Side Note: PWLT is not a childrens theater like the name suggests.) That same night Manassas Ballet Company was also performing. The timing was perfect. The Ballet had already started before we arrived & their music was playing softly on mini TVs placed on the walls & through their speakers. When the show ended the Ballet was already gone. AoGG played in their black box Theatre which provides endless possibilities. The show itself was Amaaaaaaaaazing! The cast was brilliant. They kept to the original classic while also putting their own spin on it. HPAC is beautiful! The staff is friendly and helpful. And even when its busy the lobby flows well. PWLT had an amazing cast. Most of the characters start out around 10 or so and interact with each other through college near the end of the Victorian Era. One of the cast members was in MS (7th grade i think) and you never would have known! She was phenomenal. I cant wait to see where she goes. The actual who played Anne was great too. Played Anne just over the top enough...Anne is over the top herself. And the parental figures in the play had great talent! Marilla Cuthbert was non nonsense with a touch of sarcastic humor and I loved it! I was very impressed. If you get a chance to see PWLT perform I highly recommend it!
Great venue. Fantastic variety of shows and events.
Spacious Auditorium with lots of parking.
Clean and modern venue with space for about 1500 spectators. Pleasant staff. Wish there were more bathrooms and easier egress, but overall a great space!
Good shows, very nice theatre, ample parking, excellent customer service, very quick ticket check and seating. Refreshments vending during intermission needs tweaking to enable more efficient and rapid purchasing with water and coffee at their own dedicated tables.
Great place love the auditorium
Was there for a graduation ceremony while it is a realtivity small arena it is a nice space.
Beautiful Venue and top notch performances. Weve never been disappointed.
