A prairie type park with nice trails. The main trail is a bicycle path that crosses a long boardwalk and bridge over a lake into Mcfarland. Very scenic. Weekends are busy.
I love staring at the night sky full of stars on lower Yahara river trail.
Seems like nice park. Bathroom clean and big. Pulled in last night, but as i have shore power, there is mo h2o at the sites. I saw dump station pulling in. Visited this park a couple years ago. Very pretty grasslands. But, as with all the wisconsin State parks, imho, over priced by a little. 27.00 a night is high. Maybe 25.00 would be more in line. Oh well...ok, found water hookups. Still not worth 27.00.
Nice campground! We will definitely be back.
So well maintained, not extremely crowded.
Its a wonderful place to camp and have a beautiful bike ride.
Very nice path to walk and bike on.
Awesome place to bike,walk,jog.
What a wonderful place. Right on the bike trail. Very peaceful but close to everything Madison has to offer.
Lovely campground. Looks new. New and well thought out facilities. Nexus of nature area, park, bike trail, and surface roads. While Madison is near the city hum affects this place very little. It is not very wild, of course, but very convenient.
Open recreation area for lots of fresh air, time with family and friends with lots of area to enjoy the outdoors. Look out for goose poop though.
Such a nice destination so close to Madison. Come by foot bike or car. So much wildlife to view. Peaceful relaxing. Take pictures if you like. Maybe a picnic would be fun. Close to camping. Close to boating and fishing. Bring your whole family to enjoy this gem in Madison.
First off, this isnt a deep-woods, solitary type of place to go where you wont see other folks. However, its camping in the Madison area that allows easy access to the city as well as great bike/hike/walking trails and wonderful lakes. The bike/pedestrian trails connect to the series of trails into and out of Madison and nearby towns, with many, many miles of different ways to go and types of landscapes to see. I havent skied there, but the trails look like theyd be great on cross-country skis with a lot of distance and options if you cross over into the 9-springs area as well. There are also picnic shelters, boat docks, and playgrounds.
Great place to bird watch! Bike trail is close with easy access to water and bathrooms. If you like to trail run, you can connect over to the E-way and they are developing new trails to the South of Lake Farm, so now it is easy to do 6-8 miles and forget you are so close to town!
Nice dog park with a .75 mile gravel path, plus lots of unofficial paths and mowed or wild prairie grass areas. Limited shade in the summer, but they are building a shelter for 2018. Poop bags provided, but bring your own water.
This is a great park. We loved the trail. We walked down to lake waubesa. The mosquitos were not too bad at 10am. The trails had a bunch of shade which was nice on the warm day we walked it. The dog park is awesome! Very family friendly!
Dont you know it is not real but you dont like it then you have to do that if we spent less money than a single one in the world b not a good job for you to get a Christmas bitmoji or something to do that anymore on a bus or in the car cant and a half car garage with no parking or parking for the past year or a dad or family member or the giant family that was a lot better to have made for them than they are now because the food was very tasty in their food processor with the lights on their Instagram account so they were able to lend their own money for the environment and the black diamonds
This post is in regards only the disc golf course.Pros: Nice course that is well maintained and has good signage. Beautiful place to play with short but mostly long prairie grass and surrounded by farm and wet lands. Pretty good mix of short and long holes.Cons: With the long grass it can be pretty easy to lose a disc. But worst of all are the bugs. They are everywhere and are vicious!!That being said bring bug spray.
Nice place to hike with the dogs. Also access to Capital City Trail.
Lake Farm is a nice little place for camping, 10 minutes from downtown.
Quiet and... Too quiet
Pretty View
Good scenery, friendly dogs, well maintained
Amazing place and perfect Dane County Parks Employee. All Questions and Curiosity were covered.
Really nice disc golf course. Need a pass to play. Mosquitoes are really bad during summer. Great sunsets
Great trail system connects to all parts of Madison and the surrounding areas. Well maintained.
Needs a water source for dogs. Grass in the small dog area gets too long. Otherwise, great.
Spectacular new bike trail connecting Madison and McFarland! An easy 5 mile ride!! Amazing mile long bike bridge curving around the shore of Waubesa!
Great park for dogs small and large with separate areas for each. Frisbee golf course in the hills as well
Couldnt find the beach. Its good for camping and fishing. But mainly trails. That are mushy and muddy because they get a lot of rain. One time there was enough for me.
Loved it. Quiet and wonderful. Easy to go to and get out of the city just to get some quiet reflection. Without having to go far.
Great dog park.Lot of friendly dogs and most people. Some dont get IT IS A DOG PARK!!!!
I enjoy walking my dogs there occasionally. The atmosphere is great.
Can be peaceful yet creepy at times.

Fantastic dog park - 25 acres of happiness for my dog!
Huge dog park, lots of trails and fun for the dogs!
Disc golf is great. $8 day pass almost knocked it down to 4 stars but decided it is worth it.
I love madison and i was very happy staying in a camp so close to the city. however my day was ruined when a family two sites over played music loudly for the night. they started around 10:00pm and it didnt stop. canp host did nothing. i am very unhappy with this. quite hours are 10:00pm why was nothing done? my poor grandma had to ask them to quite down, isnt this the hosts job? unhappy
Got to love to do things outdoors
