Such a beautiful atmosphere for all to enjoy. This is an off leash, forestry, fenced in dog park. There are short trails with a forest feel. Its clean for the most part with recycled bags available if you forgot yours and dog dishes available but bring your own water. I only took a star away because some people dont clean up after their dogs but there are people who step up to help keep it clean.

This place has a great dog park that is getting more & more popular. There are two parking areas - one for the dog park and one for the playground - with a wooded trail between them. The playground is big with unique NW style features. There is still some work to do to make the lake useable, and in some areas, accessible.

The park is great...well thought out and eco-shiek... Im just not sure it was worth the cost of the build for the little that it gets used. Well see how it holds up and how well it will be maintained in the upcoming years..

Ive come to this park relatively frequently over the past few years and liked it before the relatively recent overhaul. They turned 1/3 of the park into an ugly, sterile playground with a raised platform fully surrounded by small boulders with no handrail that seems to be designed for kids to tumble off and bust their heads. A lot of wild growth that had been accumulating naturally for quite some time was bulldozed to achieve this and then they have the nerve to stick Nature Preserve signs in the laughably tiny strips of grass that remain. In addition, part of the shallows of the lake to the back of the park were filled in with dirt to create a new trail, distorting the naturally formed landscape and ecosystem there. Its sad to see a beautiful and unique slice of nature twisted to suit the mounting gentrification of the area exemplified by the hideous new apartments that have just been finished across the street. That said, the wild part of the park in the back near the dog area is quite nice, full of beautiful plants and visited by all kinds of interesting birds and insects. There is a fair amount of litter and people do kind of creepily hang out in their cars in the parking lot sometimes but theyve only ever personally said like one sentence to me so its not a big problem unless youre super paranoid about your safety, in which case bring a friend and you can both enjoy the park.

I love this place, I wish they would fix up the dog park a bit more to match the new playground area. Maybe have the off leash dog park separated into 2 areas, one for big dogs and one for smaller dogs. I wont even go inside the fender gated off leash park when there are bigger dogs there and they probably wont hurt my dogs but I dont want to take a chance that my dogs would piss off a bigger dog and get his hind quarters handed to him on a platter. I just walk the trails a while before leaving if bigger dogs are present in the off leash park. Would be great to have water faucet/fountains along the trails and garbage receptors are much needed. Without them makes it easy for people to not curb their pet, pick u after them saving poop on the trails for us to step in or our discussion to step in or God forbid eat. Some people wont pick up after their dog but I think they would if there was a station for waste to be thrown and bags and maybe water to wash the hands. I think that would serve the community well.

I have only ever visited the dog park section of Lake Stickney Park, so I can only speak for that half of the park. The dog park is decently sized with to open spaces for fetch & shenanigans, but most of the park is wooded with paths through out. The dentistry coverage keeps the park from becoming a mud pit, but it does become very dusty in the dry season. Water for the dogs is community provided, but I have personally never seen a time when there wasnt water available. It seems everyone who frequents hear does a good job of cleaning up behind their dogs, overall its a good dog park. Despite the lack of open space.

This is one of my favorite parks. Not to many people if you are looking for some one on one time. Its nice to have a lot of brush and trees for my dog Odin to explore around in. The trees at the park are so big in so places you can stay near them even when its raining and stay dry. Its a good place to play hide and seek with your dog.

Nice, small neighborhood park. For the kids, theres a slide, two disk type swings, and a few climbing rocks. There is a lot of room to walk around, some trails, and I believe there is an off leash area for dogs. Nice areas to sit and enjoy the scenery. I wouldnt recommend for smaller children, but good for 4 or 5 year olds and up.

We regularly go to the off-leash dog area here, and while it is nice, I do have a couple of complaints: there are a lot of un-ground stumps sticking out of the ground, and I have seen zooming dogs crash hard after hitting one, and humans trip and fall. The water situation is very poor. Instead of installing a water fountain with a dog bowl, someone brought a large metal bowl and people will occasionally bring gallon jugs of water to fill it up. Sometimes there will be no water for the dogs at all, so it is often a good idea to bring your own water.

Doesnt have much: 1 slide, 2 flat swings, 1 climbing rock, and some other climbing fake tree stump thing. Nice for short walks, but with all the open space they couldve added more typical playground structures.

I walk my dog to this park 2-3x a week, however this past week 5/27-5/31 my dog caught Kennel Cough, this is the only park we walk to. I want to give a warning to other dog owners. The symptom’s were coughing at first then progressively got worse to heavy breathing and started hacking up a white/clear substance. He had an appointment to get fixed 6/4 and the vet diagnosed him with it. So his neuter date got pushed back. He started antibiotics and cough medication.Again, just a warning to the dog owners in the area

Main downside was a lot of people just sitting in their cars waiting for something. Lets just say they definitely werent there for the playground.

Ro
Review №74

Great little place close to an off leash dog park. Good place for young-ish kids since there stuff to climb on and one fairly large slide. Can get busy on sunny days and everyone has to share the slide. Theres a rock formation behind the slide and other stuff to explore but not much. Benches here and there and a few tables too. Not much to look at, but if your kids need to get out and burn some energy near by, this will work.Wouldnt recommend bringing anyone younger than say 5. We took our 15 month old and she couldnt enjoy the slide too much (even tho she loves them) because the older kids wanted to keep going. Not much to do for a little one.

The off leash area is very large and it is a nice setting. The regulars who go here are great as well. The problem keeping the park from a five star review is the amount of sketchy people you will pass in the parking lot and going down the trails. I have seen the sheriffs park out in the lot and the park is definitely much much better than when I first came to the area, but we still have a ways to go.

This Park is big and beautiful with wide open spaces, and awesome little spot to walk around. I was a little disappointed with the childrens play area. It is only good for about 10 kids and then it feels too crowded. There are not enough play apparatuses for many children, and the existing ones can allow 2, or maybe 3 children to play at a time.
