I came here to spin a pot as part of a group team-building activity. There were two young women to walk us through the process. They were great teachers, and everyone had a lot of fun, even though the final product was what you might expect from a first time pot throwing!Afterwards you get to glaze the pot. The kiln firing takes a long time--we had to wait two weeks to pick of the final product (although that includes the holiday weeks).
The Pottery Mill is amazing! I’ve taken a one-time wheel throwing workshop with my husband, a 6 week wheel throwing class, and I’ve also become a member. The space has everything you need, the community is welcoming, and Lauren and Chelsi are great instructors. Great for beginners and advanced potters. Check it out!
The Pottery Mill is fantastic!!! It’s a great space with lots of room and resources. As a member there’s access from 6am to 11 pm, 7 days a week. The people are wonderful, very helpful and personable. I have nothing but great things to say about them. Check it out and see.
Pottery Mill is the best pottery studio I have taken wheel throwing lessons at. Chelsi is a great teacher. Since Ive joined Pottery Mill, my wheel throwing skill has dramatically improved. Now, I can actually make what I intend to, rather than whatever happens! The studio is well equipped, with several pottery wheels, a slab roller, a clay extruder, a new electric kiln and a choice of several beautiful glazes. Everything you may need for throwing a pot on the wheel or for hand building is available. I enjoy my time at the studio so much that I have joined it as a member. Now, I can go there whenever I want to, and spend as many hours as I wish making beautiful things! I highly recommend Pottery Mill!
I’ve been a member of the Pottery Mill since July 2019 and have found the studio to be a very welcoming and supportive environment. Everyone I’ve come in contact with is so helpful and the studio is well stocked with tools, equipment and glazes
I LOVE the Pottery Mill! Chelsi and Lauren are fantastic instructors!!! I am currently enrolled in the Sunday class, and have learned so much since becoming a member, and it’s such a great way to start my week!!! Pottery Mill FOR LIFE!!! ️️️
Chelsi is an excellent teacher. She is enthusiastic and hands-on, but also lets you jump right in, try it out, make mistakes, and learn. Chelsi is patient and will explain things again when youre ready. The studio is large, bright, and open so there is lots of space to work and meet new people. Everyone is friendly! I highly recommend classes and workshops at the Pottery Mill!
I have done both the one-time workshop and full class and enjoyed both! Chelsi is a fantastic teacher who is able to accommodate any skill level. I went from having no pottery experience to making pieces I am proud of. Definitely check out Pottery Mill if youre interested in giving pottery a try!
I brought my mom here for a late Christmas present and we both had a blast. Chelsy was a great teacher and made it very accessible. I cant wait to go back and glaze my pieces and get them home. Id definitely go back for another class.
I found the Pottery Mill at Dracut old home day and I will forever be thankful I stumbled upon their tent! Chelsi, the owner, and now my friend is an amazing teacher who takes the time and energy to teach you how to love pottery and work hard at it! I’ve taken three 7 week sessions and would sign up for many more! 2 1/2 hour lessons are more than enough time to learn important skills about pottery so you can keep practicing for years to come. If you have any interest, I highly recccomend to SIGN UP! It’s 100% worth it!
Chelsi is a great instructor! I came in with zero pottery experience but always something I wanted to learn. As someone who was never artistically inclined, I signed up for an 8 week class and fell in love. Chelsi is extremely helpful, very fun and friendly to be around. After the first 8 week class, I signed up for another cause I enjoyed it that much! I highly recommend this for another who is looking to get into wheel throwing/pottery. You will not be disappointed! It’s a great, welcoming, friendly environment for all!!
I did the 8 week course with Chelsi and absolutely loved it. She gave us enough guidance to be successful in learning the skill and creating quality pieces, but also let us make mistakes to learn how to fix them! She taught us all the basics of using the pottery wheel, trimming, glazing, and other important basics for success in ceramics. HIGHLY recommend taking this course if you want to work towards being an independent potter or really improving your skills!!
I have taken 2 one-time pottery wheel workshops with Chelsi. I enjoyed the first one I took with my friend so much that I bought a second class for my mom and I to do together for Mothers Day! Chelsi is dedicated to seeing her students succeed while giving them the space to learn independently. I highly recommend taking her class to get a taste of wheel throwing. I would love to find the time to take the longer, 8 week class some day (hopefully soon)!
Looking for a no-pressure way to fire up (pun intended! ha!) your creativity? You can support your local artists at Lowell Makes at the same time.. it just doesnt get any better. We three adults (myself, my main squeeze, and our young adult niece) synchronized our watches and had so much fun learning how to throw pots on a wheel and then glaze them. We just picked up our masterpieces last night and could not be more pleased with ourselves. It also made for some after-art socializing, which was just as fun. Lowell has it going on, yo.
Taking my second wheel throwing class with Chelsi because she is an excellent teacher and the class is small and intimate. It doesn’t matter what level you are at, Chelsi does a great job meeting you where you are at, and working with you on your goals. The studio is part of a big maker’s studio, with a good amount of pottery amenities and the ability to use the other maker spaces too if you want to learn other skills (ie. Woodshop, costume shop, metal shop, electronics/3D printing etc) or make mixed media. It’s a small pottery and maker’s space community with great energy. I became a member about 5months ago, and now it is an exciting part of my life. I feel so grateful to have found it! :D
Its been years since ive worked with clay! I thank you chelsi for helping me refind my love for pottery again. Ive never been to a pottery class that ive enjoyed so much! Great quality lesson ! I definetly recommend the pottery mill to anyone who wants to enjoy their time doing pottery. I had a fun time and plan on returning as soon as i can!
