Jim Gilliam Recreation Center is a wonderful, beautiful park!! It’s great for early morning walks, basketball, and tennis! There’s all kinds of exercise equipment and great people that work there to ensure everyone has a pleasant and safe experience!!

Nice gym with friendly people.the upkeep of the grounds were good.

Lush, green park with jungle gyms, a sports arena, a pool and basketball courts! Its hidden so its visited by locals most of the time. Very clean and pretty!

Very nice park with exercise machines that use your own body weight as resistance. There is also a basket ball court, tennis and walking/jogging path plus childrens playground.

Nice play area for the children. Several zones including a sand area. The park is clean and the picnic area is adequate.

Clean park free of litter and well maintained by staff and community. Inside facilities are a bit older & could definitely go for revamping but still that doesnt stop the quality of programs offered to the community, especially for the children. The summer programs, both camp and family nights are most notable. Park is busy, always someone walking their dog, jogging, or playing sports. The overall ambiance is safe, relaxing, and a good place to go to cool off in the late afternoon since it gets a nice breeze. We love this park.

Park is in nice shape! Especially the basketball courts. The nets and backboards have been replaced!

My family and I we used to go to the park to practice with our soccer team and to me it was a good park and now even more because they put exercising machines.

My family and I come to this park for the exercise path and for the outside area there is an outdoor playground but we dont use that part of this part theres also a restroom inside the rec center but again we dont use this part of the park and we dont use this part for this reason it has a lot of open space and definitely on the cleaner side the neighborhood Maybe slightly questionable at times but my wife and I have never had a problem we bring our cat here and he likes to run around and its a good place for him to do so because theres not a lot of traffic from side streets and such the restroom at this park would be the only downside but like I said it is located in the rec center which is located a good distance away from the areas that we choose to use all in all good place to bring the children

Its relaxing ans fun

I primarily visit the lower part of the park to walk the dog with my sons. There are plenty of other, friendlyv pets there on a regular basis. One drawback is the lack of waste bags in the dispensers....I have my own however.

Very nice park with an awesome view of downtown LA and the Hollywood sign. However, there are a lot of bad people there so be careful. If you mind your own business and take care of your belongings you will be fine.

Last night me and my four legged family went up in the hills and spent a night

My kids recently attended their summer camp, and they had a great time. They had weekly field trips($10-$35), I loved that they encouraged the families to attend at diacounted rates! They came home with daily arts and crafts and played sports. They even provided breakfast and lunch, which came in handy on days when we were running late. It was $60 which was awesome for me because I have 3 kiddies. They will most definitely be back next summer. Another to add, I love that they also did Summer night lights Wednesday thru Saturday, they cooked for the community and also offered free sports for the kids. They also did giveaways. Ms. Denise the park director is awesome and so is the staff. Its great being able to benefit something great from my community!

This is the best place to play tennis in Los Angeles. Easy parking and beautiful courts that seldom get used.

Great for senior citizens, children, and teens. New and improved activity center. New exercise room, hogging path, dog run, tennis courts and golf field.

Awesome park to play tennis! Walk your cat, play with kids. Downfall no bathrooms. Other than that its a great calm park,friendly neighbors

Nice variety of equipment, courts, etc. Its a shame this park seems to be low on the totem pole as far as maintenance and upkeep. People seem to litter a lot here. Beautiful during the day, but sketchy (both people and wildlife) past dark.

Still lots of gang activity even In day light but the remodeling looks great!!! Sad that its not a place you feel safe in.

It is a nice park and the best time to go for would be noon as it tends to be quite peaceful and quiet.

Its a little hard to get to but it has great tennis courts.

A diamond in the rough normally filled with Bloods or conflicts internally that finally is OK to take home and talk about without the LAPD knocking down my door or the Crips shooting through it ia how I would describe this place.This is Nature in Los Angeles and the cleanest air Ive huffed outside Griffith observertory in four months, take it all in and keep it for a time like this when Google will help you share the experience.(Its a good little park for talking walks or winding down the little ones)
