Great drink specials and comedy shows! And cool atmosphere! HOWEVER you cannot charge $16 for Moscow mules and they not come in copper mugs, thats illegal. Small venue so if theres a line probably choose somewhere else it means its too crowded.
They also have great chicken dishes, good and interesting drinks and fun staff. I always recommend this spot for people looking for a change of pace. So tasty and reasonably priced. What more could a girl ask for?
Good looking venue inside. Bartenders are great! The crowd ebbs and flows through the night (was here on Friday). Battle of the Decades is a cool theme.
At the moment you arrive in that restaurant team give you a great feeling. Very hospitable team, it is a friendly place to hang out with your friends or with your date. yummy food, experienced chef, good price and nice service. Warmly recommended.
Very pleasant didnt go into it with very huge expectations figured itd be like your average mediterranean joint but going into it i ordered a bbq chicken wrap and it was quite astonishing and filled with lots of flavor gives off a very healthy vibe making it feel good to eat since it taste so good. The tomato soup was very flavorful as well. overall very impressed with the execution of the this restaurant, food is great and atmosphere is also super casual nice and relaxing.
I love Korean cuisine and this cute place had amazing Yukgaekjang (spicy beef soup) and delicious kimchi. Just the right amount of spice! And I found it cute that the tables have drawers in them with napkins, chopsticks, and spoons. Clever idea!
Great place to have a drink and just hang. Everyone is so friendly especially Michael G.
This is such a cute restaurant. Service is exceptional. Portions are generous. Cocktails are tasty. And its super romantic. Its a great place for a date night or a special occasion. Would say its better to be a bit dressed up but doesnt seem necessary either.
Finally went to this spot this past weekend with a friend. We loved it! Great drinks, funny host, and free popcorn! LolWill definitely be a spot Ill be taking my friends for a good time. You can tell its a very LGBTQ friendly bar in LA.
Update to previous review: Not only some of the best service Ive ever had at any sushi restaurant but everything served was top notch quality. Excellent fresh albacore, 2 fantastic baked rolls, super delicious edamame, and a nice cold orange slice afterwards. Mmmm.....
The service is regularly quick, great vibes, very nice staff members. Will eat here again when I am in the area.
I look forward to going back again. Prices are decent for the quality.
The only thing I enjoyed were the free tacos, after every drink I got they gave me a raffle ticket so I ended up with plenty and had about 8 tacos, they were bomb AF, a lot of meat, super juicy, all the fixings were on the side so I can dress it up.
Atmosphere was great, but service was pretty bad. They messed up my order twice and tried charging more for their errors. Food was good however and the atmosphere make this a decent spot
Great restaurant with fantastic ambiance. For larger parties you can do a set menu for better service and delivery of food. Plus they have a pretty amazing desert collection .
Another great meal/night out at one of our most favorite spots in CA . We love the place. The Cicada Club, the food, the atmosphere, never disappointed. KELLY (wink), JOSH, ROZ, OLIVER, we appreciate you and thank you. See you soon. SC
I had my BF restaurateur friend in town and wanted to wow her with a wonderful dinner. The Little Door was PERFECT for our party of 5 ladies. The atmosphere, service and food were tops! Make a reservation now!
I remember the days when the Exploratorium was located at the Palace of Fine Arts. With the move to this location along the Embarcadero, I havent had a chance to visit this new facility until recently when I went to Exploratorium After Dark on Thursday nights from 6-10pm. During this time, the Exploratorium is open to Adults 18+ and serve beer and wine. Tickets are $19.95 at the door and are first come first served to capacity. Avoid the long lines and assure entry by buying your tickets online before 5pm and save $2 too.
I visit this great spot quite often! This is the best place to eat. I go to this spot regularly. The food is very tasty, the workers are friendly and the prices are reasonable. I like meeting in this spot for a nice meal.
Yes please!! We live with a 10 min walk from this place so we consider ourselves very lucky and have possibly also given up on that Keto diet cool kids are talking about, bc PASTA at La Pergoletta is sort of a little slice of true Italy, and thats better then your beach bod ;-)
HOLY WOW. Was in LA for 5 days visiting a friend and we came here twice. Literally everything is good. The service from all ends is impeccable. I dont know what else to say other than YOU MUST GO!
Relish hidden Gem! Go here now for dinner + drinks and you will be sure to impress friends. The ambiance is romantic, relaxing and enjoyable and drinks are tasty!
This club is such a gem. So old school; a trip back in time without having to travel 88 mph in a Delorian. We went to the New Year’s Eve Eve party and danced all night to music from the 1920’s-1960’s. Big band music and all. It was marvelous and we can’t wait to go back again for Frank Sinatra night. Will keep you updated on the food when we go next time. Only downfall is drinks are a bit expensive for average drinks.
We came here during DineLA week and the options they had for the special menu were excellent. We all got something different and I went with anything that had short rib. Im a short rib fiend so I was excited there were so many options for it. Everything was tasty and service was wonderful. Id be back for sure.
Elegant place. Dress up. Bring your partner for dancing. Bar upstairs. Comfy couches upstairs. Great food. 2 drinks each plus 3 course dinner for 2 will be about $175. You can go for dancing only, but limited seating upstairs, unless you reserved a dinner table. I reccomend a dinner table upstairs, because of the view of band n the ballroom is awesome. My only complaint was womens restroom upstairs. Its only 3 stalls. One wasnt working, the other one didnt lock. So basically only one. Trash on floor And no toilet paper on stalls.
Such a fun new place in the area. My dad and I wanted to try something different so we ended up here. He had the Hawaiian fried chicken and I had the shrimp in pineapple shoyu sauce. Both were delicious, paired with rice, salad and kimchee. The fried chicken was a very generous portion and everything tasted fresh. You can tell they take great pride in providing fresh, made as you order food.
From the outside, this place is literally a Club . Once inside, it is a quaint, lovely oasis. The atmosphere is cool, part indoor, part outdoor dining with a small, cute bar. It is like being in the backyard but not in the middle of CA .
Tried this spot already with my friend and I am hooked ever since. I enjoy the awesome mood and delicious dishes and drinks. Kudos.
My husbent and I had a date night here, compliments of a birthday present from my brother. We had no idea what to expect, and were delighted every step of the way. The environment is cozy, extremely romantic, and vibrant! Entertaining playlist, great service, and fantastic food, every single bite.
I brought my best friend, Anne, here for her birthday dinner and it was absolutely wonderful. We both have a mutual love for French cuisine, so this place is right up our alley.
I felt like I stepped back in time to the 1920s art deco period! I loved how most everyone was dressed in some period clothing fashion, but if not they were still dressed in elegant style! The big band music was amazing and the overall atmosphere just kept me smiling all night :-) I cant wait to go back!
Im in heaven. I feel like I stopped by my papas for lunch. Chile Verde is on point. Love it.
Such good food! But the best part was a cashier by the name of Michael. Great service!
This place is awesome! 10 for atmosphere, 10 for the music and the dancing, and 9 for the 3- course dinner. The food was good, just not great. The food service was ok. My husband and I went to celebrate our one year anniversary and the Cicada was a great way to do that.
AMBASSADORCAPRESEMozzarella, Tomatoes,Micro Greens, Basil OilExcellent those restaurant menu . Wanna come again to take those.Recommended!!!
Beautiful art deco space that hosts amazing live music events every week or so. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The full restaurant menu is great Cali-Italian, but my one minor gripe (and a primary reason I dont eat here more frequently when they do the band nights) is the narrow prix fixe on the special club nights.
Beautiful ambiance delicious food, and welcoming Cicada Club . Definitely recommend this spot for a romantic dinner or celebratory event!
Had an awesome experience here! So impressed with the food, the service and most of all the ambiance!!
Mmm my first time trying this place was on Thursday. It was so good I had to go back on friday. Its Monday and I need my fix lol. The pupusas and great and even reheated they taste yummy . Theyre open late night which makes it good for those with late munchies :) very happy my friend recommended this place.
I feel like I walked into the 1920s when I visited this restaurant. It is gorgeous from inside with the art-deco theme and live music with a small dance floor. They cater to vegetarians so certainly made it easier for me. The ambience is great and the food was good too. This place is great for a valentines or anniversary date.
Finally got around to visiting Cicada Club and it far exceeded my expectations! An evening here will run you a fair bill (dining prix fixe is $59 per person plus the $25 entry and pricey drinks) but is well worth it. You must reserve a table and eat to have guaranteed seating, which we did - but there looked to be ample seating room with couches in the bar and lounge area. The venue and decor are exceptional, with amazing art deco wall to wall. The dress code means that everyone will be dressed to the nines and many in vintage looks, so youll feel truly transported to another era.The music was amazing - it rotates but we got to see an incredible big band. There dance performances as well, which made for a fun and lively evening (not to mention the dance floor constantly hopping with guests). The food really surprised me. I expected it to be average because the club is so experience focused, but it was actually very good. I tried the seared scallop, almond salmon, crab linguine (special), tirimusu, chocolate cake, and apple tart as we were all sharing a bit. Everything except the chocolate cake was memorable, particularly the scallop and salmon. The chocolate cake was the only thing that left something to be desired, mostly just a dry brownie.Overall, Cicada Club should definitely be on your list. Youll be hard pressed to find another place where everyone there is so enthusiastic about embracing the evening and having a great time. Strongly recommend!
Delicious foods are ready to serve!!! The place was huge and relaxing and the service was great they accommodate me and my family very well. They accommodate me and my family very well. GREAT JOB GUYS!!!
Amazing atmosphere and great food.Came here for my mothers birthday and we all loved it, made it a really special evening
It is a beautiful Art Deco venue. It looks like a 1920s speak easy. While typically a supper club! Good job guys..
This place was so elegant! The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. The entertainment was amazing tio. They had a Frank Sinatra night and it was beautiful. The first floor had a dance floor next to the band. You have to make reservations for a table and you can sit on that table all night. There is a bar upstairs and couches if you feel like hanging out there all night if you choose to not get a table. The drinks are delish! Im definitely coming back.
Where to start I mean it was beautiful setting, amazing service and delicious cocktails and food. We had party of four on a Friday night with reservations and it wasnt crazy full it was just perfect.
The dessert and cocktails were amazing. Would of enjoyed another cocktail. I highly recommend getting the Groupon deal for this restaurant if you can as it is pricy, but even if you dont get the deal and are looking for a nice dinner out; this place is fantastic.Best dining experience my wife and I have ever had. The staff was very friendly. Our service was exceptional. The menu was small, but in this restaurant a small menu means quality entrees.
This place simply knows how to treat their clients. Consistently with a super friendly mindset. The food is affordably priced, regularly delightful and neat.
My preferred location for delicious Italian food. Everyone at our table was quite pleased. There was fast, efficient, and courteous service. It has a cool atmosphere. Atmosphere and food reminds me of Virginia Beach.
Been 3 times already, and never disappoints! The food is A1, same for the place, beautiful architecture. A bit of a waiting line, but worth it. Recommend to go early lunch/brunch time. Vegan and vegetarian options
Great spot for tasty italian food. I wanted to post a food pic but it looked so good I couldnt stop. The service here is above par. Prices were decent. Feeling here is similar to a cafe in San Jose I liked.
Went to a wedding here last night and had a great time. We had two choices for dinner which were chicken or filet mognon. I chose the filet and it was absolutely amazing. My lady got the chicken and it was out of this world as well but the filet stole the show. Place is very 1920s style with God lead everywhere and is very oldschool but very cool.
One of my favorite places for tasty italian food. Great place to chill, get away, eat some good food. I will probably become a regular. It has a nice atmosphere. Atmosphere is similar to a cafe in San Jose I loved.
A favorite place for quality Italian food. Normally I would have posted a pic but food looked so good I couldnt stop. Really nothing but enjoyable experiences here, Ill be back. Menu is like a place in Miami I enjoyed
Do you like big bands? Do you like live music? Do you like the bygone era of the 30s, 40s, and 50s? Then Cicada Club is the place you want to be. Grab your top hat and tuxedo or your sequined dress and go have a blast. Once you walk through the doors you are swept away back in time. From the sparkling chandeliers, to the imported marble and hand carved wood pillars this place is a visual delight. There is a different band placing each weekend. And plenty of ballroom dancing. The food is outstanding and the bar is extensive. Grab your favorite somebody and treat yourself.
Loved my experience at The Cicada Club! Beautiful art deco architecture and decorations. The night we visited featured wonderful music by Ginger and the Hoosier Daddys. My drink of choice was the Mary Pickford and it was delicious. My favorite part of the club is the way everyone dresses up! It was like walking into the past. If you arent familiar with the old timey dance styles there is a second dance floor on the top floor lounge that offers a bit of privacy. The valet for the club is only $10 so we chose that as our parking option for the evening. If you havent checked out Cicada Club make it your next weekend outing - you wont be disappointed.
I love this place. You legit feel transported to a different era. The full experience is a min $100 per person ut its well worth it. Especially for those who truly value the nostalgia of those times.
Gorgeous decor, beautiful atmosphere and nice crowds. Have been dancing there so many times and never get disappointed. One of my favorite places to go in LA.
Italian food... my favorite treat. Visited on a Wednesday I think. The staff was very sociable and kind. The place has an awesome atmosphere. My apartment is far from here, so I cant visit often.
The atmostphere was good but nothing great. The foie gras just as expected. Honestly, I could have cook it myself at home. The black cod was delish though.
Cicada Club is a once in a lifetime experience, and truly like taking a step back in time. Get into the spirit, dress in period attire and play along, be a you as youd be in 1929 at the height of big band and swing. Amazing place, gorgeous inside and out. no wonder its been in so many movies and TV shows.
My brother had his wedding and reception here, what a beautiful, historic building! You take a step back in time as you step through the double glass doors. This establishment has done a fantastic job keeping everything original!
The best place ever! My husband and I got engaged here and we have spent many wonderful evenings listening to our friends perform. The prix fixe dinner menu is elegant and affordable and the whole experience is always classy, charming, and fun.
Dinner and a show in the majestic Oviatt building, an art deco dream. Three course meals, classic spirits, song, dance... a truly vintage and classic experience. Dress to the nines and bring your dancing shoes, highly recommend Cicada Club.
Italian food and service at this spot is excellent. Very filling. Certainly worth going back to. Prices are fair. Similar to a place in Denver I loved.
We held my bachelorette party here and it was amazing! The table service was not only fast but friendly, and charming! Definitely will be back
Very charming place with the incredible Jive Aces rocking the house. The swing dancers were so much fun. A step back in time.
Fantastic! The chicken and pork sausage app was delicious. Service was excellent. The atmosphere is very nice especially on a perfect summer. If youre in the area make this a place to stop for dinner.
THE CICADA SPEAK EASY NIGHT CLUB AND RESTAURANT IN DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES ON 6th STREET AND OLIVE STREET IS A UPSCALE CLASSY DECO ERA VENUE THAT ONE SHOULD VISIT AT LEAST ONCE TO APPRECIATE THE BEAUTY AND ELEGANCE FROM THE 1920S.YOUR SWEPT BACK INTO TIME DURING THE FLAPPER ERA, ONCE THE ENTRANCE DOORMAN OPENS THE DOOR FOR YOU TO GO IN. TRULY A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT AND ENJOY GOOD MUSIC AND DINNER WITH SOMEONE SPECIAL. T-SHIRT AND JEANS NOT RECOMMENDED.
Extremely beautiful ambiance and great entertainment. Love everything about this place.
My fav spot for tasty Italian food. Food was so appetizing. The service here is friendly. It has a good interior. They have so many reviews for a reason.
Lovely venue. Food was good, although personally I wouldnt say it warrants c.$45 per entree. Service was okay. Although waiter didnt seem impressed we didnt want an appetizer. Apple pasty puff pudding was the saving grace....It was fantastic!Ambience was lacking. Our table was 7.30pm on a Friday night and only 1 other couple there. When we left there were 6 couples at tables. Overall, if prices were slightly better I might come back. But you should go on a night when theres a band for good ambience.
Italian food, mmm, super delicious. I love this place always quality food & service. Nothing but great experiences here. The bill was fair I would say.
I love this place. The atmosphere is great. The staff is so friendly
Italian food at this place - delicious. Visited on Fri I believe. The service was friendly and sociable. It has a great atmosphere.
Italian food and the atmosphere here is excellent. very savory. really nothing but great experiences here, so i will be back.
Italian food and the setting at this spot is very good. i love going here. it has an awesome atmosphere.
Excellent food! This old bank that now houses Allegria is a great restaurant. The food is consistently good and the wait staff is always on top of things. I love the dipping oil that comes with the bread! I highly recommend this company. Thanks guys!
Italian food, so good. this place will surprise you. next time ill be back with my friends. it has a nice interior. they have a lot of positive reviews for a reason.
Outstanding location for Italian food. very delicious. i will be back with my friends.
Fine place for quality italian food. super delicious. service treated us so kindly. it has a cool atmosphere. reminds me of a cafe in chicago i loved to visit.
Good food. Pretty exclusive. Cool history. I was only there for an event and was only offered a prefixed menu so I couldnt choose what I normally prefer. The salmon I had was good and so was the salad. I hope to return and experience their full menu. Make sure you check if they are open because their hours change often due to special events.
Good place to relax and unwind. Certainly worth going back to. Prices were average for the menu.
My wife and I went with a large group to the Cicada Club to celebrate a friend’s Birthday. We were pleasantly surprised by the vintage architecture and vibe at the club. Food was okay. It was more about the style and the jazz band. It was a great experience.
You wont regret it. The songs, orchestra, singers were all so grear. I felt nostalgic although Ive never lived in that era
Great live music! Amazing atmosphere!Id love a bigger dance floor.
The food at Cicada is FANTASTIC. I love it. I always order the McCarty burger and personally I think it is the best burger in town. Definitely worth the visit.
A beautiful and fun venue with stunning art deco features. Delicious food!
Fix Trots & Swing & Martinis, get Her Dizzy Drunk, huh?!?
We had our 9th year wedding anniversary here. The place was beautiful. The food and service was great. The drinks were great as well . They had a live Frank Sinatra band that we really enjoyed . The whole night was great. My wife and I really enjoyed it. We will definitely come back again.
Italian food and service here is quality. came in on a weds. i will be back with my coworkers.
The menu selection has a variety of items that are sure to please. The atmosphere was quiet and the service was excellent. The food was delicious and the prices reasonable. I think we found a new favorite place to eat out. I recommend this restaurant!
