$3 to see one of human historys greatest technological and engineering achievement. Give your kids the benefit of seeing this, it might inspire them to reach higher. The Shuttle exhibit is a really well done and for the price, there is no reason to miss this. They have a gift shop in there. Dont miss the External Tank outside. Excellent visit!
AMAZING exhibit with lots of information about all sorts of space missions. With 135 placards of information along the walls, this place will keep you entertained for over an hour if you so choose. The shuttle is GIANT and truly mind blowing. The gift shop is actually pretty cute, and the little jackets are adorable. This is definitely worth going to the science center. Once again, admission is FREE.
Souvenirs were affordable and the place is maintained clean and good. Very informative exhibits with real time experience. It was a good time spent here leaning all the new stuff. The movie in imax theatre about touch the stars Is just awesome. The 3d effects are top notch, I felt the ticket was worth it .
Was a fun trip the whole family will remember fondly.Particular thank you to Robert M. of guest services who made the already awesome experience of seeing the Space Shuttle Endeavour in person even that much more amazing - he was very helpful and spent time going over a lot of fun facts / history and went out of his way to show us samples of the materials used on the exterior of the Space Shuttle - going in depth on each one. It was a pleasant experience and we were very grateful Robert was there to share his knowledge with us.
My brother was an aerospace engineer that worked for Boeing, which contracted out to NASA. He worked on the Space Shuttle. We are all so proud of him, and miss him greatly ️
Wow! I am so glad I got to see this person. My mind was just blown away. It was huge and yet it was also smaller then I expected. Isn’t that how things go on but this was so worth it. If only they let you in it! It’s not every day you can see something that was so space so up close.
This place is definitely worth the $3 admission. They have a bunch of information, much of which is kid friendly, displays, videos and folks who are there to help you out with any questions. Just be prepared to pay $12 for parking.
Getting up close with Space Shuttle Endeavour was so special. It is a joy that the shuttle is here in Southern California. It was a long journey to get the space shuttle here, an adventure which is recapped in detail by the museum. From a flyby over the Hollywood sign, to towing it down city streets that were barely wide enough to accommodate it, to having it pulled by a sole Toyota Tundra over a freeway overpass, the story of how it got to Exposition Park is fantastic and wondrous. Much of the space shuttle was built in Southern California so it is fitting that this shuttle will live here for the long haul. Seeing the Endeavour in front of me was astonishing — it looked larger than I thought it would and left my jaw dropped and a huge smile on my face. I also got to touch a space shuttle tire that had been in space, which was memorable.
Its a great place. Lots of kids, but thats important, kids learning about science! Many hands on exhibits and of course one of the last four remaining Space Shuttles!
A must see if you are in L.A. American history and engineering excellence on display. The museum is tremendous if you enjoy learning and love science (how can you not). Nothing like seeing the shuttle up close and personal. The film showing the shuttles arrival in LA is mind boggling. Dont forget to look carefully at the invoice and see how much it cost!
Yourre a fan of space flight and everything that can leave this planet? - you have to visit THIS! | you get very close to the Endavour and can see an original STS toilet or microwave in the exhibit | its awesome to visit it
We visited the shuttle after watching the documentary from the Earth to the Moon by Tom Hanks. The staff walking around the shuttle took quite a bit of time to answer questions and generally enjoy the questions we have. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the tour and would definitely go back.
Im so glad we came! Its historical and really amazing. Entrance fee-all worth it. The only problem is parking. We went on a holiday, so its expected.
A great part of history very cool displays. Can put size of shuttle and fuel tank in perspective.
It was a amazing sight since I had never been and hadnt looked at any photos and I was completely surprised by the polite workers there.
Everyone intrested in science and in rön should visit this place. The history of the space shuttle program and to see the a real space shuttle is really amazing.
Great exhibit! So much to learn about Endeavor and other space shuttles. My kids favorite part was learning how astronauts go to the bathroom in space. The space potty video was great.
So many historical artifacts from the space program and educational displays. Even simulator rides to keep little ones entertained. Where else can you see a live shark swimming in an aquarium, and then view the Space Shuttle?
For only parking you can see some really cool exhibits. the movies are extra price and so is the shuttle.
Awesome display! In the future they plan to add the solid rocket boosters and fuel tank and stand the whole thing up in a new building.
Great way to spend the day at the science center and shuttle, lots to do here for kids and adults too.
This is an amazing exhibit. If you have never see this, you must. I love the whole idea of space travel, and space missions, and all that jazz. So, to see how its done, the actual vehicle used, the process of training, etc. Its just so surreal. You have to see this to fully appreciate it.
Went to the science center with the intention of paying to see the shuttle, but it was free the day we went, so that was nice. The space shuttle is a must see. When you see it in person it is so grand and impressive, a true piece of history. The staff is friendly and informative. In a few years theyre going to move it to a new position that is going to have it sit vertically. I mention this because I feel you can get closer to it now while it is positioned horizontally. Definitely check this out
What an awesome experience. So cool to see the space shuttle up close like this. Brought back a ton of memories from my childhood. The exhibit is awesome. Definitely recommend a trip to check it out. Make reservations.
Just amazing, and sad at the same time. Unless you actually see it in person, you cannot fully grasp the scale and scope of the Space Shuttle Endeavor, and the Shuttle Program. It is all aw inspiring to think of the contributions to mankind that these brave men and women who participated in this program have accomplished, and the path they have carved for the future of space travel. The history that it leaves behind is both inspirational and tragic, and this exhibit honors both. I personally was sad to see this program end.
Very interesting place. Happy that I visited it
The Space Shuttle Endeavour is a part of the California Science Center complex at Exposition Park.During peak times (10am to 1pm), timed tickets are given to help even out the crowds. Its free. And now the last remaining fuel tank is part of the exhibit but it is outside the large structure where the space shuttle is located. The fuel tank is absolutely massive and immediately adjacent outside the shuttle building as you exit the shuttle exhibit. There is an exhibit upstairs adjacent to the entrance to the shuttle itself. I would definitely recommend walking through and exploring this very well done area prior to entering the shuttle location. There is also a 12 minute video loop in a small theatre which is located prior to exiting. When you do enter the shuttle building, the shuttle is HUGE. You enter towards one side of the nose of the shuttle and it is truly awe inspiring and takes your breath away. Everyone stops right there to take it all in and you can tell you are all feeling the same thing together. Its also the first spot everyone has to get a picture. In order to get the whole shuttle in one shot I had to use the panorama feature of my camera. This is due to the distance from the shuttle to the walls of the building. You cant back up far enough to take the pic with the regular camera settings. You can walk all around it at ground level as well as under it. You can see the detail of each panel as well as the wear marks throughout the frame from its time orbiting earth. The rocket engines in the rear are MASSIVE as you work your way around the tail section. There is no upper deck and no way to go to a 2nd level to get a look from a different vantage point. There are also no bay doors open, although there was a brief period of time they were open and another opportunity could happen again. It would be noted on the website and no doubt quite extensively via social media. There is no way that anyone of any age wont feel the impact of seeing the Endeavour at the California Science Center. It is not to be missed!
Where else are you going to see a space shuttle these days? Around the edges of the building they have listed everything the space shuttles did, and why. I found this exhibit interesting and informative. Im a space nerd so take that for what its worth.
I loved this place because there was so many things to do,see and touch
Had fun, really experienced the ingenuity that went into space shuttles.
Details of the shuttle were explained in detail by the staff.
The words awesome and awestruck tend to be thrown around a lot nowadays. Coming to the California science center and being able to see the Endeavor left me awestruck in the truest sense of the word.
I havent been here since I was a child but coming back here made me feel young at heart again. The great thing is that all the exhibits are interactive. Being involved hands on with the exhibits makes everything much more engaging. The Endeavor exhibit is truly spectacular and describes everything from how astronauts use the restroom to the shuttle itself. It really is awe inspiring and puts things in perspective.
Its an amazing piece of machinery. Its worth the entry fee which was 7 dollars. The gift shop has some pretty cool gear and gift ideas. A must see if your visiting LA.
So cool to see the Space Shuttle in person. They also have the external tank outside with plans to construct the shuttle in a upright position in the near future. For now, you can walk all around the underside of Space Shuttle Endeavour, learn about each shuttle mission, buy merch at the gift shop, or check out smaller exhibits around the hangar. Its only $3/person to get in and I cant recommend it enough.
The Space Shuttle Endeavor exhibit was top notch. The docent I spoke, Stacy, was very knowledgeable and a joy to share with. This place brings history to life.
Wow! Wow! and even more Wow! This things been into outer space! Wow!Now Ive come back to earth...The science museum is free to go in, but you do need a $2 ticket from the booths outside (or a ticket to another paid exhibition which will allow you in free). It is well worth the miniscule charge. To be up and close, and although forbidden, close enough to touch! If youre in South LA, do make sure you see Endeavour!
Seeing the Endevour was so fascinating! Even more so was how they got the Endeavor to its present location. Its incredible to see something so close that has been to space 25 times. Its a must see for those that love space.
This was outstanding for my kids and even to me. The Science Center itself is very cool and has a lot to discover - but this Space Shuttle was enormous. My boys had to take a small Space Shuttle with them and are playing with all the time. Price for parking was ok with $12 and the daily admission for the Science Center was also very cheap.
Absolutely phenomenal and fantastic to be able to have Space Shuttle Endeavour close to home. This is a magnificent piece of technology and a joy for all of us who love everything related to space and aircraft.
Awesome place to visit. I was impressed by the size of the shuttle. At first I didnt know the actual shuttle was there so once my wife and I went in there i was amazed by the shuttle! Must see if you are around town looking for something to see.
Really amazing to see the Space Shuttle Endeavor up close! Its obviously quite massive, and the space in which it is held fits it perfectly. The museum exhibition provides very detailed information about the Space Shuttle, and one could spend quite a while reading it all.
Great time and a fabulous exhibit. I cant wait until it is fully erected with the tank and solid rocket boosters.
An amazing piece of technology, art, innovation, and history unique to our nation and Southern California as a whole! Very thankful that we have such an amazing craft in our own city :)
Getting to see the Endeavour in person was an awesome and humbling experience. The shuttle seemed so much larger in person than I expected. If youre in the area, its a must see exhibit.
Had a great time. Learned a little more about our first launches, fails, equipment, even touched some tires that went up to our space and the sweetest of all you get to see Endeavour shuttle, what a huge thing!!! If you love space this is a must go!!
This place is perfect for the kiddos! If I ever have any Ill be coming here to show them this exhibit, if its still around.
Very interesting to see the shuttle Endeavour physically and learn about outer space. . Can learn a lot of space trip that explored by NASA with many shuttles.
Had a great time Great people great food lots of things to see and experience Kids had A-blast will be visiting soon again
Amazing! The shuttle went on 25 missions to space! Its so cool to know it was out there and now you can see it. Its huge!!
This is an exhibit with in the California Science Center. I highly recommend visiting this and allowing a full day to enjoy all the other exhibits in addition to seeing the Endeavor. A real space shuttle that had traveled through space many times.
EXCELLENT SPACE DISPLAYS RODE IN THE endeavor simulator ride .they have the huge fuel tank outside but was difficult to get to and photo graph. The mercury capsule that a monkey rode in. Also an A12 spy plane is outside to photograph
Live this place!! Awsome for families!!
Great place and lots of enriches of scientific knowledge!
Interesting museum, space shuttle was awesome!! Spent 5 hours here! Also buy the 3D IMAX space movie it is worth it!!
Its a piece of Americas history. Inspires my toddler to want to be an astronaut. NB
There are shuttles in NY, D.C. and FL as well (2 were lost over the years). Its really cool to see in person if you used to watch these things go up on TV.
Its a space shuttle, what more could you want? Ive now seen all space shuttles that are on display. While the rest of the exhibit here isnt as well developed as the others, they are working on a new display for it that will be amazing.
Great experience!!! Make sure and make reservations at least 24 hours in advance....no same day enterences. $3 per person. Easy to get it during the week Saturday and Sunday make reservations the weekend before. They only take 150 people per day to the exhibit, so its not at all crowded. Also, there is a simulator...$6 per person.
Awe inspiring! If you are close by, do yourself a favor and go! The museum is free, and to see the endeavor is only $3!!
Its almost impossible to look at this majestic piece of American achievement and not tear up. Up close it is awe inspiring and the facts scattered throughout help you understand this pinnacle of American gumption and scientific accomplishment. I cant wait for the day they stand this up and put it together with the rocket booster.
Beautifully displayed and fun to look back through the history of this magnificent machine.
Totally cool to see this in person. So much to learn.
Good exhibit. A lot of the rest of the exhibits in the museum were broken, but overall a good science museum that covers a lot of areas.
Endeavor was beautiful. There were also lots of plaques to read about the timeline of all the shuttles. So very glad I stopped by to see this.
The Space Shuttle Endeavour is truly a humbling exhibit. To see a product of mankind that had enabled significant scientific advances and safely escorted many astronauts to space truly took my breath away. Acknowledging the enormous amount of time and effort that went into engineering the Endeavour increases the sense of awe tremendously. In addition to the shuttle, the exhibit contains a modular scientific housing used by the shuttle, a shuttle an engine, interactive displays, and more. Outside and behind the exhibit is the last surviving fuel external tank, which is currently being restored. The California Science Center intends to obtain two booster rockets and create a historical full vertical stack (orbiter, boosters, and tank positioned as if ready to launch). Amazingly, this exhibit only costed me $3. I cannot recommend this beautiful exhibit highly enough.
Very cool to see and know that this is part of space exploration history. Nice to learn all about and see it in person. Yes it’s the one from the Toyota commercial where the tundra hauled it for a bit
I learned more from the staff at the Endeavour than I have at the Atlantis (Smithsonian) and Discovery (Kennedy Space Center).
There arent enough words to give vent to the emotions that are engendered once you are inside this fun Museum. The true glee at seeing what Americas Space Program is all about. Its awe inspiring and can take your breath away. Jets, Rockets, Apollo, Space Shuttle, need I say more? Plus theres the fastest Jet on the planet, a SR 71 Blackbird on display out front of the Museum. Its a real treat from those who appreciate Jet Power Aircraft. Please go. I enjoyed myself and plan to back soon.
Very interesting and interactive museum. Suitable for kids and adults all together. The entrance is free. Highly recommended!
Before entering the hall to see Endeavor, there are several exhibits to gain background, technical, system and historic knowledge of the US space exploration. You can go through this before seeing the shuttle, or reverse the visit by seeing the shuttle first, then come back to have some deeper understanding. Always check the CSCs website during holiday or school vacation time, there might be reservations needed.
Amazing experience to be able to see the shuttle up close. There was an engineer at that time explaining some part of it he happened to work on it as well. Its a must see if you are in LA
The space shuttle was cool but there was no one at the museum to explain it.
Walking under the Endeavour is epic! Everyone interested in the space Odyssey or not should visit this museum. The walk in the park of the museum is quite amazing as well.
Worth the admission. Gift shop is a little pricey but, overall very fascinating exhibit.
A quite surreal experience seeing endeavor that flew 26 space missions and learning about history of the space shuttle program. The museum was very informative and well worth the time.
10 out of 10! absolutely fascinating.
Its the space shuttle. Awesome.
My school went to see the space shuttle, and it was EPIC I would recommend it and the science museum to science fans.
Amazing! Its simply breathtaking to see a giant piece of humankind history!
It was AWESOME! I was struck dumb... What a fantastic achievement and now its a relic of history. Onward and upward!
So awesome! Go during down time then you can let it all soak in without interruptions
Beyond amazing, makes me so proud to see what we as humans have the technology to build. We went into space with this thing, and there it is, in all its glory, waiting for you to come see it. Took my breath away. FREE!
Extremely exciting presentation of the space shuttle and further scientific informations (such as marine biology). In addition the exhebition room offers many informations about the historic events surrounding NASA and the space shuttle.
Sometimes reality is hard to chase but In this case reality is right underneath your eyes, literally. Youve always heard about a space shuttle and in this case its right there, inside the science museum accessible with just a donation during weekdays. Veterans are there answering your question though they use a powerful and dangerous green laser to point at things to explain it better. The giant tank is outside but bare in mind the whole shuttle might change location in the next few years
This was a wonderfully unique choice to host an awards banquet for ASCE Region 8 & 9 MLRC.
Excellent guides! Amazing to see the Shuttle up close.
Awesome things to learn and to look at
Great Experience!! The 360° view of the Space Shuttle was Terrific.
Fully recomended. Must come. Parking fee $12.00 per Car. And free entrance to musseum. To see the endeavour pay jus 3 Dollars PP.Very nice
Awesome sight of the Endeavor one out of three remaining space shuttles
Lots of space and little to see. I guess in the future sometime it will be really nice.
My son loves this place always something to do and fun. I just hope they maintain it a little more some of the activities have been broken since 5+ months since we last visited.
Very cool to see up close.
Love learning about space and all its missions. Getting close to a real space shuttle is just out of this world. Makes me get so emotional.
Amazing exhibit! Could do with a little more interactive information, but view of orbiter is great. Not many places on earth like it!
Loved the exhibit. In complete awe of the shuttle. Would come back again.
Such an impressive feat of human engineering, bravery, curiosity, and our need to explore. Its so much bigger than I imagined. Definitely a must-see. $3 admission. Reserve a time one day in advance through the Science Center website. You can easily spend an hour in there watching the video, checking out the various displays, and admiring this amazing spacecraft. Very, very cool!
Vary nice. There where people there that actually worked on the shuttle....
Impressive and inspiring with knowledgeable docents around to tell its story.
