Opening films, big productions & events happen at the Los Feliz Theater. I just saw Richard Gere get an award on stage. There was an interview about his body of work. It was a good discussion. He was very modest & humble...cool. He spoke about meeting the Dalai Lama and what they talked about..really cool.I cant think of any other theater where these events could happen. Seriously!
Great theatre old fashion organ playing prior to the movie. This is a cozy place to go for a date night. They do have current stuff and sing a long days.
Great audio, great image, an intimate setting to watch films. Almost always does the Los Feliz Theater have something interesting playing. I love this place. Thank you for existing. Also, great popcorn! A key element for a great theater.
An ART-Deco Greek revival thats been nicely refurbished and restored. Similar to the same architectural movie outfitter known on Castro Street in San Francisco, though a much smaller venue and housing a number of smaller theater salons for movie-goers.Colorfully repainted and redecorate, the movie salons still carry the original movie seats it seems. Maybe the plastic version of the original. But the screen size is adequate seated lower than the more modernised versions. And more intimate, obviously. So canoodling or making out with your girlfriend or lover-not isnt complicated. You just clamber over the seats and away we go !Nonetheless this is a great place to go to but, watch out for the bathrooms -- they dont small or look as if theyve been cleaned since last year ... maybe last summer ? I doubt anyone notices these things especially when you need to use the facilities-- like (right now) ... but its definitely nicely decorated. However smelly. Dont forget the hand sanitizer later or beforehand.
I have been going to different theaters since I moved to Los Angeles 20 years ago and I have to say Los Feliz Theater always delivers. In a way it is a no frills cinema only having three screens and classic concession items. More important, it features the films that eventually buzz for award season. Its almost difficult to choose a movie because they are all excellent choices.
Great and relaxing place to catch a movie. My quibble is minor: the pre-show announcements are the same ones they have been utilizing for years. The same barber-shop quartet, retro style featuring singing and dancing popcorn and soft drinks, reminders to visit the snack bar, same clever but well-worn reminder to turn off cell phone and not trash the theater. Is it not time to refresh these at this point? The staff are always friendly young people, its clean, sound system excellent, and if you know where to look you can always find parking. (Skip the street closest to the theater; look for a place on the first street northeast across the street from Franklin. I always have found a space there and it is just a short walk.
Great place to catch a movie, get to see the best movies at a matinee special price! I love this place! Dont forget the popcorn!!
This is a super cute theater. We took some kids from the so cal hemophilia group for a special screening. Mr Walter and his staff were amazing. They were friendly and beyond helpful.
Reasonable price and great service.
Comfortable in every way and beside the place was tidy and amazing.
You gotta love and respect smaller, more arthouse theaters. Its a great experience and the people who come care about the movie, so you dont get troglodytes talking or using their phone in the middle of them. Just wish the theater rooms were a bit better set up.
I love this movie theater. Last year, I went with my older brother by watching Isle of Dogs from Wes Anderson and 20th Century Fox Searchlight. And this year, we also watched Dumbo, the 2019 live-action adaptation from Disney. The popcorn was so tasty and the Coca Cola was very good. I will come back whenever me and my brother want.
Love our neighborhood theater. The show great independent and foreign films, friendly staff and awesome prices! After the movie there are a lot of restaurants in the area.
One of the last of the stand alone neighborhood movie theaters. Dates back to the 1920s. I love it!
Great prices and movie selections. Ample sized and comfortable theaters. Friendly staff.
The theaters are very small but extremely affordable. I gave three stars due to how the smallness affects the theater-going experience. If you do not show up well before showtime and you have a group of more than two, you will mostly likely not be sat together. Also, noise in the lobby can be heard very clearly, especially if you are watching a movie where the silent moments are just as important as the active moments. Great popcorn with real butter, though!
The old school feel to this quaint theater in Los Feliz is what keeps me coming back. There is no denying that it has great charm and character in comparison to the mega theaters all over LA. The concessions are good and at $6.50 for a matinée ticket I have a hard time making any arguments against this place. It tends to be far less crowded too, which makes it one of my favorite places to catch a flick.
They use real butter on the popcorn, and the popcorn is reasonably priced; I think its about $3.75 for a small!
Love love love this theater! I like the films they show, the price is great, and its local. The screens may be small but I dont mind at all.
Seats are very comfy. The employees are very polite. It gets crowded very quickly for blockbuster movies, so luckily we were able to get good seats. Everything is super clean.
Service is good and friendly. The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable. The movie was clearly visible and heard.
Very quaint humble looking cinema. If you dont mind catching a movie in a more intimate and smaller setting on a budget this place is great for you. The quality of the picture and sound isnt compromised at all so youre still getting a real movie going experience. Concessions are also fresh so dont forget the popcorn!
Beats the price of most theaters in the area. Beautifully maintained theater in downtown Los Feliz. Screens and theater seating is unusually wide so be sure to shoot for a middle seat. Give yourself plenty of time to look for parking in Los Feliz.
What a gem of a movie theater! Great prices for matinees and so so cute. Any movie lover will love it.
Great time good movie nice theater
This theater is lovely and situated on a strip with great bookstores.
Wonderful neighborhood theater! Small and intimate seating set up. Theater 2 only has 60 seats. The largest theater has 150 seats. Old fashioned pre-movie advertisements let you know exactly when the movie is going to start, in case you want to get some delicious popcorn or snacks. Highly recommend this place. Enjoy!
So antique such history. Much loved
An awesome theater!!! Cheap, great selection of movies, trendy crowd, nice bar.The rooms arent too big, which makes them cozy, and the staff really cares about the quality of their clients experience! The area is also nice, in the heart of Loz Feliz, close to bookstores and restaurants!
Love the vibe of this theater. Great prices, cheap snacks and nestled on a fantastic street with tons of options for before and after the movie.
The cutest, kindest, & cheapest theater Ive ever had the pleasure to enjoy. $6.50 for show before (and including the)4:15 showings.
Finally I can watch a movie with old folks and not have to explain to them what is going on or get blank stares. Love this place. Its clean, comfortable, old-people friendly, and very reasonably priced. They only show 3 movies total at a time. Not enough room I guess. They were showing Twilight, Skyfall, and some korean movie.Half and half popcorn and caramel corn is pretty good. Free validated parking for 3 hours.
Small theater, nice sound and screens. Get here early because best seats go away quick
Perfect!!! Lovely old school cinema with an old concession stand reel playing before the movie 100% gold
Charming little LA haunt. The matinee tickets are such a good deal!
We went to watch a premier of.a.film we worked on. I like the small, intimate atmosphere of the theatre. The seats were somewhat comfortable but we did sit pretty close to the front.
Such a great place for a movie. And everything around it adds to its charm.
Cheap tickets. Cheap concessions. Nice theatre. WISH THEY HAD ICEES. Come on people!
Cozy theatre at a great price. Watch a flick here it is a good spot and very intimate.
Great theater. Can someone tell me what the scent is called inside? It smells so good inside the theater I’m not sure what it is though.
I took a good friend of mine who came from Ohio for a couple days we had a nice time
The Loz Feliz Theater is quaint & right in the middle of the charming town. I come here for many movies (I just wish they sold hot dogs). But it also gives me an opportunty to shop.
This little triad of screens has excellent everything. Just compressed in size. Fun for the neighborhood. And weve met international drama series leading actors there.
Great place, but small theaters, no wine or more interesting refreshments. All the same I go fairly often.
The vintage vibe of this place is great. Also the movie selection and people who go here. You can’t go wrong with the prices either.
The theater is beautiful, reminiscent of days gone by. If you are older, the outside if the building is deco inspired. The neighborhood, has quaint shops and some great restaurants.
A wonderful neighborhood landmark !
Elegantly operated and reasonably priced.
Definitely check this theater out! Good prices and all the popular movies. Its a small place - vintage - historical. Its well kept, nice employees, and a very fun atmosphere. Its the theater I always try to go to.
Great little local theater that dishes out a blast from the past. Its cool that they tell you when the movie is about to start on the screen so you can run to the bathroom or hit the concessions for some buttery popcorn. The seats are decent with cup holders on each armrest. Youll be looking up at the screen no matter where you sit so that takes a bit to get used to.I did notice that they have digital projectors for 4k and excellent Dolby sound. Its a hidden local gem, stay away haha...
Great theater! Just saw Judy! A must see on the BIG screen!
Great theater especially in the early evenings! Always a dope spot to catch a flick, especially for a date night .Plus Guys world Famous Fried is a block away and definitely worth the walk!
One of my favorite theaters in Los Angeles -- great selection, great prices, great quality (even if you get the tiny theater).
A cozy and fun experience. Nice theater and great movies
The Loz Feliz Theater is now actually three Theatres. Generally running first run films and occasional Indies and art house pictures . The screens are by no means large. In fact I would say on the small side the kind of screens and auditoriums one really see anymore except in small towns and SF. The staff is usually friendly and sometimes theres a line. But now that Moviepass is in chaos, that may change. You dont come here for the booming epic unfolding of Hollywood Grandeur. You come here for the local participation, the fresh popcorn and the neighborhood area that hosts some great places to have a bite before the movie.
A 3-screen multiplex carved out of a small neighborhood movie theater. Therefore, only one screen, the largest, approximates a proper movie going experience. That said, I have seen shopping center multiplex theaters almost as small and cramped as the smallest of these. The geometry is tweaked to get the most out of it, and its okay, but a bit awkward. The seats are comfortable, the sound systems current and decent, and the prices are great.
Great theater with a good selection of smaller and bigger films. Doesnt have some of the amenities of a larger theater (stadium seating) but makes up for it with low prices and tons of charm. Probably my favorite theater in LA.
A movie-lovers dream theater. Staff is friendly. I love all 3 screening rooms they each have something unique to offer. I saw some of my favorite films of 2018 here. I go at least twice per month. In the heart of Los Feliz, surrounded by restaurants and coffee shops.
Love this theater. Its like the kind i grew up going to,but nicer, and the price is right. The only problem is since its small, they may not have the movie youre looking for. Its a great break from the megaplex.
I love this theater. It’s an older theater that’s preserved a more intimate movie experience. The screening rooms are smaller, and more comfortable than the big movieplexes. Classic movie snacks are available and tasty to boot.
Small scale local theater with charm and vintage feels. Always the perfect selection of films and yummy popcorn. Walkable to other gems in the neighborhood. Love this theater so much!
Best row separation between seats, staff, and manager in Los Angeles!
Gorgeous little cinema. Lovely popcorn which they will refill.
Vintage decor. Small theater. Reasonable price.
Always love this place used to walk here with my mom as a kid when I lived like 2mins away awesome
I ate popcorn and saw a really good movie here in a small narrow theater that was very dark and I was satisfied with the experience.
This is one of my favorite theatres in Los Angeles. Good ticket prices, great snack prices, comfortable seating, interesting movie selections, great lighting, and charming lobby commercials. Whats the catch? Well, the seating is so limited that if you dont get there early it can be sold out or worse - you could end up with bad seats. As long as you can be there 15 minutes early - you should be alright 90% of the time.
I love this theater! Its extremely affordable and the movie theaters are small but provide a quality experience with the newest movies. Also, the staff there are super friendly and helpful!
Great place to catch a film. Yes, it doesnt have huge screens and isnt the most modern but its classic, relaxed, homely and also half the price of Arclight! Not the place for an action or sci fi film where you want an IMAX or similar screen, but for everything else, its great.
Small place but great place to catch a movie locally.
This theater is adorable and in the best location, plus the prices are reasonable!
Cool neighborhood theater.
Ive been coming here since we moved to LA over a year ago and will continue to have this as a movie theatre staple. The decor is great, service is always good and honest and the quality of sound and picture is well above what I expected. You can usually find free street parking if you look long enough and dont mind a little walk from the local neighborhood. On top of all of it this is one of the few movie theatres you can go see a movie for less than $10. I highly recommend it!
The only place I ever want to see a movie in LA, period. Such a gem.
One of my favorite places to see movies and has been for a long time. The price is definitely affordable. I like the location, that stretch of VermontAvenue is one of the best in Los Angeles. Skylight Books is next door, anexcellent real bookstore. Parking can be difficult, but Ive always managedto find a spot. Walking is good for you.
I drive more than half an hour just to go here. Love this theater. Just super chill... They also play movies most theaters wont. The cheap 650 tickets before 5 or whatever, that is the greatest deal and totally incredible!
Old time charm and enjoying the simple movie watching experience!
Quaint theater reminiscent of another era. Clean, Affordable with good sound and large seats with room to stretch your legs..
Love this vintage theater, and its simplicity.
Super small but cute theater. Definitely a great place to catch an independent film, but not neccessarily Jurassic Park. 10/10 will be back again.
Very good place but small where you sitting in front of the screen.
They do not allow food from outside but have very limited choice of food available
Cool little spot. All the places like this back east are closed down and stripped out
Good place. For a movies
Cool place, good ticket prices, comfy seats, tasty popcorn. The theaters are sometimes shaped unconventionally, but none of the theater layouts detract from the viewing experience.
Elegantly operated, unpretentious and well priced. Small screens and not the best sightlines but a good bargain.
Terrific movie house with terrific ticket prices, $5.50 for a senior ticket!!!! Nice helpful staff
Great neighborhood movie house with affordable prices. The only downside is not all three theaters are created equal. Arrive early for a decent seat, especially for theater 1.
Great Theater that has been Restored, Great art work and decor. Lots of room and seats. Its a local movie theater,Tickey price is great.
Awesome vintage theater! Fair prices, good popcorn, great selection!
Also great to support the local neighborhood theater.
Staff really need to work on their attitude - first showing of the day was 1.30, I dropped by at 12.25 to buy a gift card for a friend who lives nearby before heading out of town. Two members of staff were there chatting behind the counter but when I asked for assistance was told there was nothing they were willing to do for me until 1pm. I explained I was leaving town right then and they just shrugged. They cost my friend her thank you gift, and themselves $20 of business.
Good price, small rooms! Serves the purpose!
