Amazing! Amazing! The improvised musical exceeded my expectations about what a musical and improve could be. I still cant believed that whole play was improvised it had better quality than a lot of shows written today. They also have a decently priced bar, so I would suggest you come early and get a beer or two, so you can get a good seat becauee the front row seats have no backrest and it was a little bit uncomfortable.

Love this small theater, not a bad seat in the house. Get your Tix in advance because it looks like it sells out easily. And, with no assigned seats you want to arrive early to get in line - it will help ensure you get seats together. Oh and theres an awesome ice cream shop next door which makes waiting in line tasty.

Obviously Upright Citizens Brigade is an institution and a pilgrimage site for improvisers across the country, but that aside, its just an extremely fun stop no matter what your interests are. I highly recommend the FREE Sunday night Assscat show, which as I said, is FREE if you get in line early enough (I got there one hour ahead of time and got in), and is legendary.

We checked out the 7pm Sunday show and got there at 5pm just to be sure wed get a good spot in line. We got the 5th spot. They let us in at about 6:50pm and its open seating. We chose the first row of seats with a back as we didnt want to sit in the 1st row that has no back support. The show was funny, entertaining and very clever and witty. Definitely a very enjoyable experience with some really talented individuals you could tell love what they do.

I attended a sketched and improv Comedy Show called Black Twitter. It was my first time attending. I absolutely LOVED the show. They had groups with diverse backgrounds and it was FUNNY. The ONLY complaint I have is that it didnt start on time, but it was worth the wait. I laughed so hard. The atmosphere of everyone was happy and unified. People were there to laugh, support, and show their appreciation for the actors in the show. The show is free and they sell T- shirts to help support their passion. I will definitely go again. Theres also a coffee shop inside that sell juices and vegan as well as gluten free pastries.

Long way to go, if you dont live close to downtown LA, to watch a bunch of theater geeks do ok-to-fairly-good improv. (The night I went, those players who got the most applause at their intros for being semi-well-known in tv or YouTube were the least entertaining live.) If theyd adjust their home page with photos of the real who is that? players--rather than Amy Poehler and others who have gone on to comedy fame--one could make a more informed choice. You will most likely NOT see anyone famous, if thats your goal.Venue is teeny. Like shop in a row of old shops teeny. (Theater people ... smh.) Good location near a couple of al fresco bar/dining options at which to drown your sorrows afterward. They have a couple of audience rows on the postage-stamp stage; can be uncomfortable for introverts if told to sit there.Meh. You need to reeeeeaaaaally love improv.

For the money this is the best entertainment value in any city in America. It’s the possibility and what if and anything could happen that makes live entertainment great. This is a great place to see comedy in La for less than 15 dollars. From the talent that has come through UCB over the years, you can not feel leave without feeling the ghosts of comedy past. I have seen shows at Groundlings and UCB in the past month and you can tell the different styles of improv. I prefer the approach of UCB as its more game like compared to Groundings. Go see a show at UCB if you have a chance because you never now if an alumni member pops his/her head in to jump on stage.

We went to LA on vacation and one of the major things I wanted to do was see as many improv shows as possible. We saw a total of 3 shows at UCB and we had a great time. I guess the ticketing system is the one thing to be aware of because seats are based on when you’re in line, but that’s a small thing compared to the excellent quality of entertainment at such a low cost. It was great to see comedians that I’ve been listening to on podcasts for years. I’d wholeheartedly recommend going if you’re in the area.

Really different. You have to get here very early, at least a half hour before the show. Cash only. Scripted, monologue comedians are so common. This is real improv. No liquor. Only sodas for sale.
