I found this place, not physically, but via the internet. I have ordered a few items from them and it is unbelievably awesome. In fact, I had an issue with a confirmation number, which was my fault the whole time. I emailed them about it and was sure to hear back in a few days. I legit received an email within the hour. If you are looking for great customer service and amazing content, this place it where to go. Still have half my apartment to finish with posters and they are always the first place I look.
Ordered a month ago. My order has never moved past processing stage. They do not respond to emails. Edit - I have finally received all of my items. My order took a long time to ship and communication from the galley was not good. However, my items very well protected when shipped and the items themselves were of very nice quality. I would order from Hero Complex Gallery again but would not expect to receive items in a timely fashion.
I love this place so much! Ive ordered several prints from them and they always come in perfect condition. Its very evident the people who work here are also fans of the art they release because they take such good care of their customers from packing the tubes to delivery at your doorstep. You never know what theyre going to release next and I look forward to getting more art from Hero Complex Gallery for years to come!
Ordered online and the only option for shipping was to pay $15 for USPS priority mail. I emailed to ask when it would be shipped in order to get it in time for an event and they said it would ship that weekend. Instead they just printed a label for shipping that sent me a tracking confirmation, but it was never actually shipped. What’s the point of being forced to use expedited shipping? Also calling or emailing is almost pointless as they rarely respond. Feel bad for the artists that use this company they deserve better.
Nov 27, 2017, I purchased a Stan Lee autographed Spider-man poster at an event in their gallery. Stan Lee exited before I could get the poster signed. I was assured that they would get it signed later and ship it to me.Dec 5, 2017, they advertise a Part 1 to getting more posters signed.Dec 12, 2017, I emailed them asking when I could expect my poster. They promptly replied that they are working on it.Dec 13, 2017, they advertise a Part 2 to getting more posters signed.Jan 1, 2018 I ask if my poster is ready yet. No reply. I ask again on Jan 13, and was told that they are meeting with Stan Lee and his people this coming week.Feb 5, 2018, I send another email. No reply.Feb 9, 2018, they advertise yet another batch of posters getting signed.Feb 13 and 26, 2018, I email them. They respond on Feb 28, 2018 to say that they are are getting orders signed in chunks and your order will be in the next batch. I ask why my order wasnt in the first batch.I have sent five more emails since that have all gone unanswered. At this point, it has been over 6 months since I paid them for an item that I have still not received. I have been told multiple times that I would receive it next week or soon. I have sent them 11 emails, to which they have replied to only 3, which hardly qualifies as responsive. They have had at least 3 batches of posters signed after I paid for my order and failed to include my order in any one of these. There has been no attempt to remedy this, apologize for the delays, or make amends in any way. To say Im not impressed would be a gross understatement.
One of my favorite spaces for genre-art events!
Awesome gallery, definitely worth a visit if you are into pop culture and looking for unique art.Customer service is great and very helpful, will definitely be returning!
This company has terrible customer service. I purchased an Iron Man poster signed by Stan Lee for $150 8 months ago. I have emailed them multiple times for a status update over the past 4 months with no reply. I have also called multiple times and they do not answer and there is no option to leave a message. Extremely frustrating.
Update- owner took care of me after posting this- will buy from again. Thank you!Another update- owner stopped responding to emails once he convinced me to change this review...... not sure how to feel about that
Awesome screen prints. Packaged well, arrived in good condition.
I live in another state and buy from HCG online, I love the artwork they sell/showcase. Its not just a generic art dealer, they offer incredible variety for different price points and mediums. I love it. I actually just ordered a couple framed pieces from them this evening, and to another reviewers point, it does take some time for them to ship. Its not really a caveat for me, the artwork is always in impeccable shape, they do a wonderful job making sure it survives the journey which to me is the most important. If I lived nearby HCG I would definitely go there in person and avoid the shipping costs if I could. I havent found another art gallery like HCG anywhere. I havent had any issues with anything, and the customer service usually responds within 1-2 days. For minor gripes, the shipping time is generally not fast, but Im personally okay with that just as long as it arrives undamaged. My other issue is one that Ive suggested to HCG as feedback, it would be nice to sort out sold art on their website, Im not really sure why they keep all of the sold pieces available on the website. I wish they were in their own section, separate from the searchable pages/galleries. Thats just me personally, it can get kind of annoying searching for new pieces when you have to look through a bunch of older sold pieces mixed in (generally many pages worth). Those are just minor gripes, nothing worth knocking off a star.I will continue using Hero Complex Gallery from now until the end of time. I hope to someday visit if I can. Keep up the good work, HCG!----EDIT 3/31/2018I received my latest purchase, a Jordan Monsell piece, there is some very noticeable damage to the frame that I cannot imagine was done during shipping due to the fact that it was extremely secure and bundled. The top left side of the frame was damaged, looked like it was dropped before being wrapped up. It would have been nice to know that but its all good, I still like the artwork and if need be I will re-frame it later in life (most likely). This particular piece was framed by the artist, there is some noticeable dust/specks in-between the glass and the artwork which is kind of annoying but its all good. I still like the artwork and I am glad that HCG exists.
I have had this place bookmarked for a long time but I couldnt motivate myself to drive out this far until they had their Marvels Avengers: Age of Ultron Art Showcase. I got there as soon as possible on opening night, but the line was already really long! Thankfully my friends had gotten there really early and were at the beginning of the line. Eventually it was our turn to go in--first you walk through an open space, then there was this foyer with fruits/appetizers on a table for us to enjoy, and finally was the exhibit room with all the art. There was also a nice rooftop area where people could hang out and talk. The art room had Avengers art from floor to ceiling and it was wonderful! The gallery was crowded and it was difficult to take pictures of the prints, but I loved walking around and seeing all the talented artwork on display. VIPs got to purchase prints first, and then we were called to the order counter by the number that we had signed in at. Thanks to my friend I was able to buy two wonderful prints. Not only do we get to walk away with these limited edition prints, but we also got exclusive chocolates as a thank you! The chocolates had different designs and flavours to correspond with the different Avengers. I got the Iron Man chocolate, which was dark chocolate with strawberry jelly filling and pop rocks, with Tracie Chings Avengers: Iron Man printed on the cover. The Hulk one was milk chocolate with peanut butter cream, pretzels, and granola; Ian Glaubingers Smashus Maximis was printed on the cover. The fan favourite of the night was the amazing The Age of Ultron by Matt Ferguson, printed on metal. It looked absolutely beautiful and there were only 10 available, but alas it was too expensive. I had to content myself with a screen print, which was much more affordable. I also bought 100% Softs Age of Ultron Kitchen Essentials, which was adorable. Truck Torrance (aka 100% Soft) was there and even took a picture with me next to his piece. Unfortunately he left before I was able to get my print and ask him to autograph it.I am so grateful to this gallery for hosting this exhibition and giving me this opportunity to own two amazing Avengers: Age of Ultron prints. I definitely recommend checking them out and also seeing what future exhibits they are holding.
They have amazing artwork at reasonable prices. They have different exhibits constantly so check out their website.
Amazing lowbrow, pop, geek art display
Great art, great people and a fantastic culture.
Great pieces, a little hidden, but worth the look.
