My wife and I had an incredible stay at Ocean place. The rooms and the facility in general was incredibly clean, masks were worn by all in the common areas. The staff was just beyond accommodating as well. Special shout out to Christina at the front desk and Dan and Glen at the bar for going the extra mile. The spa was a true highlight of the trip for us and well worth a visit. Breakfast at Seaview was delicious 2 out of the 3 mornings we were there. Over all I couldnt recommend this resort any higher and I cant wait to go back again soon
Eventhough we paid for the room $ 428 for the night( it was Thursday before labor weekend) it was a very nice place. Resort provided a beach chairs with umbrellas with no extra charge. Ocean was clean and beautiful. But it was kind of annoying with beach and pool towels, you need to sign them on and off upon return.Food wise- we didnt eat at hotel, it was limited menu.We had oceanview room and in the morning saw dolphins. Its very beautiful hotel, nice place and very safe area. Would definitely stay again.
This review is about my wedding that occurred on Sat 10/10/20. First of all, Kelly in catering was absolutely fabulous!!! I cant say enough about her professionalism and courtesy. Without her my day would not have been so wonderful. Secondly, Sofia was excellent in handling my guest room details for some 15 rooms including my suite. Everyone including the staff of the hotel was terrific! I recommend Ocean Place for a spectacular wedding experience! Thank you everyone at Ocean Place!
I read many mixed reviews prior to booking and was glad I still did book a stay at this resort. Yes the rooms are pricey but based on my own personal experience I think it’s worth it. We booked a King Coastline view room and the view of the beach was breath taking and the room itself was nice. We booked a 2 night stay and arrived early so we could use the pool early in the day before check in time. To our surprise, our room was ready and we managed to check in at 8:30am. Mike, the manager, and Jada who checked us in at the front desk were very courteous and helpful. We had an overall great experience with the hotel staff. Room service staff was also great and attentive. The beach attendants were also very kind and helpful. I really liked that this resort has its own section of the beach where the resort sets up chairs and umbrellas for you which the public beach goers cannot utilize.Overall a great experience and would definitely come back.
It was the best birthday by far. This place is very classy and is a party everyday. Super super clean. The food is amazing. Definitely gourmet food. The service is outstanding. Will definitely come back.
This place is BEAT UP in desperate need of a renovation! The price is absurd considering the condition of the hotel. It’s just old, outdated and shabby. They tried to update the rooms by slapping on a coat of neon blue paint which is such an odd color and doesn’t match anything in the room, particularly the gray and yellow rug. I felt like I was in a low-budget hotel in Mexico. The furniture is BEAT UP looking like it was rode hard for the last 20 years! There were fruit flies in the room and ants in the bathroom! Seriously?!? The bed pillows were not the fluffy heavenly kind that you so look forward to, but rather the complete opposite. The staff was fine, nice enough. I was so disheartened by the condition of the hotel that I called The Wave to see if they had availability, but they they were booked and they were also $75 cheaper for the same room, ocean front king. The whole experience was so disappointing. This place is priced like a 5-star hotel and it seriously should be priced like a Holiday Inn. I will not be back!!!
Positive: Great location to beach Negative: No
Great location, pretty property, excellent staff
Serves me right to come to a NJ “Resort” in a pandemic and expect good service. How can almost every persons first answer is always negative. From the towel ladies, to the tiki restaurant staff, to the pool attendees. Nobody is really accommodating. I do not expect to be serviced hand and toe but at these rates I would expect at a minimum decent service. That is not what I got. I usually go to resorts in the Caribbean where basically you can do no wrong. I think they understand you are there to have a good time within the constraints of the current situation. At Ocean, we were serviced by untrained college kids who don’t understand the value of treating your customers right and then being rewarded. It’s a shame this could had been a good spot but I was disappointed. Then there was this.........Not ours they were there when we got here.
Positive: Location, amenities Negative: Service
Good hotel. Very clean and the staff is awesome! However, Im not a fan of the dance club scene at night, makes it difficult to sleep with door open. The beach and services at the beach are great. Overall a good stay.
I was ready to book a couple nights based on the Winter discount. When making the reservation a $60 Resort fee was added. So much for the discount. Mark Major
The hotel has an amazing location. Loved the palms outside, music, and access to the beach. The negative aspect was food, truly horrible. Had to spit back my turkey club sandwich cuz tasted real weird, Ceasar salad was horrible as well, pancakes hard and dry, roasted potatoes looked like from 3 days ago. The worst food we ever had with my husband. It’s better to eat outside of the hotel. Such a shame. Hopefully they will read it and change it. The Staff was over all very unattentive ! And less than helpful!Definitely extremely expensive for the services they provide! They did not clean the room each night or give fresh towels each day.
This was the first place we went just as Covid started to lighten up a little in NY and NJ. We could not have been happier. It was clean and safe and relaxing. We loved the view from the room and went from the beach to the pool with ease. The staff were wonderful.
Positive: Ocean front and easy access to the beach Negative: Needs updating
Our room keys were disabled before checkout time and we were locked out of our room before checkout time- maybe 30 minutes before.Housekeeping opened our door prior to checkout without knocking.Bedding was a flat sheet, a thin waffle knit blanket, and another flat sheet on top. Was not warm or thick but maybe this was a part of new Covid practices for sanitation. The pool was closed due to Covid which we were not aware of prior to reservation, but I checked in with Hotels.com and perhaps they didnt update their amenities list for Covid.Staff in general were very nice and polite and the facilities were beautiful, clean, and well kept. Our room was listed as partial view of the ocean and we were pleasantly surprised that our view was so expansive of the ocean.
Very nice resort but the spa treatments are way over priced and they automatically charge 18% tip for therapist whether they are outstanding or just mediocre. They also charge you a service charge over and above gratuity and tax and charge you tax on the service charge so in my opinion its extremely overpriced. I will be going to a different spa from now on where I can get the same services that is more reasonable and allows you to decide the appropriate tip . Other than the spa experience, the resort is quite lovely.
Stayed on the top floor right next to or below elevator mechanical room - too loud to sleep Paid extra for room with ocean view - most of the rooms have the same vie - dont pay extra
Positive: The location
Positive: This hotel was perfectly located and it felt like you were at a island resort. Everything was in walking distance and the staff was fabulous. We will definitely be returning. Negative: No
I cannot say enough positivity about this hotel! The management is outstanding, even through some of the most difficult circumstances. This weekend I was scheduled for three nights. I had a family emergency which unexpectedly shortened my trip. The care and empathy by the staff went beyond just being employees at a hotel. Chris, Chad, and all the staff, I cannot thank you enough! I will definitely be back as soon as possible! If I could give 10 stars ️ ️️️️️️️️️ I would!
The value for the money is just not there. The hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade. The location is great, but I likely wouldnt stay in a suite again as its not worth the money i spent. At a significantly reduced rate, i may consider staying in a regular room class.
My sister and I stayed here on September 9th, 2020 and we loved everything about it. We were undecided walking into the lobby and were checking out the amenities, and room prices before making a decision to stay. The front desk staff was very informative, friendly, and helpful in answering our questions. We were able to check in early which was wonderful, so we could enjoy all aspects of the beautiful hotel. We even played bingo in the evening outside near the tiki bar. It was fun, and the cocktails were great. Such a lovely experience, and Id love to go back soon.
Upon opening room door I noticed a musty smell which led me to believe that that room was not sanitized. When I was opening draws to unpack, I found a pair of mens socks in the drawer . We immediately walked to the front desk and informed the them of these issues. The front desk person told me that he would inform the manager and housekeeping. We never received that promised service and today there was not a second roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. I also called the front desk this morning and reported this as well this morning before checking out. Also the phone call was difficult to hear because of static. Its unfortunate because I had stayed at this hotel in the past and did not experience these issues.
Just dont do it! We had originally booked this place for July 4th weekend until one of us had to be COVID tested due to symptoms and we did the responsible thing and went to cancel while we were waiting for the results. Called to cancel and they refused. They said they had no cancellation policy. I begged them because it is SO EXPENSIVE. So they agreed to move it to another weekend. We went this past weekend as our mini moon and it was awful. So crowded, so loud. Theyve tried to follow COVID guidelines but not really enforcing it. The lobby is beautiful, but he rooms and hallways definitely havent been updated to match. From our room you can hear the bass of the DJ so loud you can barely think. We had called to ask what time the music went to since we had to be up early and someone told us 9. We called again when it was still going at 10:30 and they said probably 11. We learned the hard way while exiting the shower that if the people next to us stand on their balcony and look backwards they could see straight into our room. You can hear everything people say right through the walls. And to top it off they ran out of beach chairs for everyone, so while we found two, other people were walking around furious and trying to steal each others chairs. Wouldnt you be if you had spent all that money for a resort experience? We actually ended up leaving early which I NEVER do. There are better and more affordable places down the shore, just seriously book there instead.
Positive: Clean rooms nice view and great staff
Beautiful wedding food room & service shout out to the greeter and bag handler perfect attitude
I’d say below average . Rooms are nice and clean. There is a wait to get to the pool. No reservations for restaurants so you might have to wait to eat. No concierge to help you get a restaurant. The area is pretty congested and people from outside property can get on the beach. There isn’t much around. There was a drunk guy cursing at the pool and the life guard said nothing. It’s a no frills hotel but for 6-700 bucks a night it would be nice if there was better service and basic amenities. There are only two people allowed on the elevator so that’s another thing you have to wait for. The staff is nice but everyone is really young and clueless.
For a $600 a night hotel you would expect better service. When I first got to my room there were no towels so I called downstairs. No one answers the phone at the front desk - I called housekeeping and no one answered the phone there either. Finally I get someone on the phone that promised to send up right away and never received them. Called again - and nothing.I wake up the next morning asking for towels and again I was promised but I never received them so I flag down one of the maids and she tells me they dont have any. Huh?My room also had an empty bag of potatoes chips under the chair and a mans shirt. So I doubt the room was cleaned properly. Then this morning I ordered breakfast which was delivered in styrofoam containers with plasticware and was ice cold.
The worst treatment for guests and the worst security that a hotel can have.I stayed with my family there for vacation which ended in a nightmare. When I arrived to check in I had to wait for 3 hours for the hotel room because it was not ready like many other people. When the room was finally handed over to me, the hotel employees took my bags to the room and a suitcase was missing. The hotel staff lost my suitcase and the hotel never assumed the responsibility for this. there was never a solution for this, they checked the security cameras and they never gave me a clear answer, they said they just lost it.(hotel staff stole it?)when I checked out they never solved the problem. The solution they gave me was.. go to Long branch police station and make a report. The rooms are old and the price is expensive compared to the services, there are 1 hour waits to have lunch in the restaurant or enter the pool.I do not recommend this hotel is totally insecure. ocean place resort is the worst resort I have ever stayed in.
This is the review I wrote to management:Dear Management,I have to say this is beyond the worst experience of my life. Starting with pre check in to my entire 24 hours was a complete and utter disaster. First off, the website is borderline marking fraudulent material. The rooms look nothing as to what is described or shown on the website. Nothing. The pool area, restaurants, spa etc follow suite. My bathroom had water bugs in it, cigarette smoke, dirty sheets, paint coming off the wall, crooked photos, and a flat screen from the early 2000’s with sound that didn’t work. Now, I understand we came during the world of Covid but the contradictions of restrictions thought out my stay is scary. Let’s start:1) check in- the reservation was wrong and I had to stand there for 30 min pregnant trying to get it fixed. While people walked passed me a thousand times. But then you need to walk back to the entrance to stand in another line to get a wrist band. No social distancing in place.2) elevators- packed to the brim and then you wait in line for 20 min to get in line. It’s funny because I see your staff literally screaming and scolding guests upon walk in to get a wrist band but no one scolding guests as they squish into elevators after waiting 30 min to get on one..3) the entrance/exits- I was told to walk all the way around from the pool to the beach instead of using the outside access stairs. Yet families behind me were able to go up and down at anytime. No rhyme or rhythm or system.4) bar/ outside area- then to top it off you have the dj and the people dancing outside. By night fall it was a mini club. People dancing everywhere no masks all together. I saw no one say anything yet families get screamed at if they went through the entrance back to the hotel instead of walking all the way around. (I have video)5) The spa appointment for both my husband and I started late at 4:00 instead of 3:45 and finished at 4:47 instead of a full 60 min. There was no relaxation as the spa is on top of the dj bar area so you can hear it blaring from the waiting room and the room itself. Room had rip towels and even worse toiletries.6) There were no towels or chairs in both the pool and beach area. Not from 10-5pm. I had to try multiple times and nothing. You have open creamers and pre filled water in the breakfast area and communal coffee pouring yet bizzare yet standardized protocols to get in and out of the hotel and up elevators. Food is served without gloves in ALL AREAS OF THE HOTEL. You had at least one wedding and three dance areas of people going in and out ALL NIGHT wearing no masks, no protocol, no warnings nothing. The contradictions is real.To pay $700+ for one night is a laughable joke and I will warn patrons before ever making the mistake I did. Not only was the service lower then subpar, I felt unsafe and scammed.
Very friendly and helpful staff from the minute you walk in, room was clean, they keep the pool area clean and not too crowded, food and drinks were great. Staff was always around cleaning and disinfecting publlc areas. Overall a pleasant stay .
I agree with the numerous 1 star reviews coming in and that theyre 100% true! We paid $600 a night for a room with aesthetics that were comparable to a 50’s motel. The room was old, worn out, and in need of a major renovation. The beds were old, the bedding was white and stained, the small refrigerator was inoperable, and just about everything seemed to have some form of major damage to it. When you’re paying $600 a night for a hotel, with pictures on their site showing pure luxury, when you arrive you’re expecting such! This hotel/resort is a $150 a night, at best, type of place to stay. While its directly on the beach and close to NYC which is why it’s cost is so high, it is far from worth it! It’s obviously meant to cater to the upperclass coming from the city but I’d think they’d be more upset with the quality they were receiving. My advice is look at the place from the outside and keep driving! The last thing I will say as well is yes, you most likely will catch Covid here as there’s NO enforcement or guidelines being upheld in terms of social distancing. There was a lot of people in the building without masks and even outside when having their “beach party” by the bar, it’s wall to wall people standing arm to arm without masks. The beach was the same as well, you’ll be placed in some instances within 2 feet of another family. Long rant over and never again would I stay at this waste of money resort. The cost of a 5 day stay here could have had me in the Dominican Republic for a week in an all inclusive.
Horrible prices. Most of the staff were either lazy or rude. Would not recommend. You couldn’t pay me to stay there again. Dirty place. Some people found bed bugs we reported it and they threatened to kick us out. Only reason I gave one star is cause I had to give a star! There was literally piss left in the toilet upon arrival.
Jessica Centanni was super helpful when we arrived at Ocean Resort and Spa. She made us feel like VIP’s The room was very clean and had a cute balcony. The beach access is very nice, and the pool is very nice ( even has a bar to get refreshments). The entire staff was helpful, courteous and welcoming. The nightlife is very vibrant especially Thursday - Sunday.
My best friend and I stayed here for a girls weekend. The check in was fast and polite. The location of the hotel is strange. Pier Village is adorable but it’s less than half a mile in entirety. Directly across the street is sketchy. So there are a few very expensive restaurants within walking distance but not much else. The overpriced hotel bar is the only thing to do.We had a very noisy gentleman next door with multiple visitors at all hours of the night, blasting music, fighting and smoking cigarettes. We reported it to the front desk. The room had a spectacular view. The view is easily the best thing about Ocean Place. The beds were ok, the bedding - cheap. There are no real blankets. Just sheets over a thicker sheet. The shower was terrible. The water sprayed out of the back of the shower head and literally soaked the entire bathroom. We were woken up on Saturday morning, of our relaxation weekend, to construction workers repairing the terrace directly underneath us. It was absolutely ridiculous. Especially after the party next door had just quieted down. The spa was another fiasco. It took me an entire week to reach the spa front desk to book appointments. I booked three consecutive appointments for services for each of us. I confirmed the appointments on the phone prior. The appointments were not booked properly and we had to come back hours later. In order to get to the fitness center and pool, you have to go down four flights of freezing cold stairs and you need a passcode, which should be mentioned. It’s very easy to get locked in the stairs or have to walk through the lobby in a robe.Overall the hotel is beautiful. The views are spectacular. A few of the things that were wrong were not directly the fault of the hotel but did negatively effect our experience.
Only okay.the place had the feel of a very outdated Miami Beach hotel.Time to start over. The area is booming and could use a new and exciting resort.
My purse was stolen from my room and from my luggage bag. After I reached home I realized my purse was missing. I started calling hotel guest services and I kept getting run around each time. After 2 days they said they couldn’t find the purse. Never stay at this hotel.
We love staying here every year. The staff did an outstanding job at a very difficult time. Everyone was so nice and helpful. A+.
Had a great experience. High end location and the beach is really clean. There is a 20 dollar parking fee inside the lot.
Stay anywhere else. This place gets off on being a beach front property but that’s where the niceties end. Payed beachfront prices for a completely outdated room, linens that definitely were not cleaned... we asked a few other hotel guests how their stay was, responses varied from being overcharged to rigid staff... Do not book here. Try Wave Resort right next door.
The staff at this hotel was wonderful. The location is wonderful. The access to the beach is wonderful. The food was wonderful. But the hotel itself is mediocre at best. It’s a relic of the gaudy era in which it was built, and at this point it may require demo and a full rebuild. I don’t know that a reno could bring it back to life because it doesn’t appear that it was ever fully and properly maintained.
This place is so much fun. The hotel is nice but I am talking specifically about the tiki bar outside. Its open to public. Right by ocean with chairs to sit in and chill. They have beer buckets (5beers for $20) at crazy good deal. No food outside. Just a really good spot to go and drink/relax outside. Pier village parking is rough tho! If youre staying at hotel that wont be an issue! Have fun!
This hotel is a nice place to stay. Service, cleanliness, and comfort are very good. I have two complaints though. The rule for wearing masks in public places is not really enforced, and some people did not wear masks. The second complaint is a general state of disrepair in the rooms. The sink in one of the rooms was clogged, and the bathroom lock in the second room did not work. Some electrical outlets were dead as well. Its a pity because otherwise it is a good hotel.
I liked this place because of the location on the beach and the views. Food was very good. Couple things I didnt like was the service at the restaurant. The people were nice but I could see the majority of the staff just needed training. They need a better system. Simple things like every table gets bread, water and a menu. Also the tiki bar had a full keg of Stella but I couldnt get one inside. I would go here again and I would recommend this place but I didnt get all the service you would expect at a resort so I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The tiki bar was fun tho. Good crowd and places to sit with live music. And if you look carefully you can see Manhattans skyline.
We needed to plan a vacation with about 3 days notice. I would return here even if I had weeks to plan. The services here are fantastic, the beach is beautiful. Lots of little shops and food for those days you just dont want to drive around. Bands and other functions within walking distance of the resort, and within the resort. Prices are decent considering the great location. This is a great getaway without having to fly and deal with all that mess. Parking is secure and free. Food in the resort was fantastic and lots of little places to sit and enjoy a drink with the relaxing surrounding areas.
I lost my mask and when I asked for one at the front desk they were selling them. Are you kidding ? One thousand dollars for the room and you can’t afford to buy masks for the guests. Greedy! This is when you know they do not care for your wellbeing but only see you as an ATM. I can afford the room and I can afford the mask but that’s not the principle. Show some caring for your guests. Lack of hospitality.
Clean and staff very helpful. No housekeeping services and no drinks in lobby. Other than that, great stay.
Positive: I like it with the location close to the beach Outpull beautiful view from the room excellent lobby Excellent precautions to keep you safe Negative: I think they didnâ€t like it about the staffwas not giving a lot of information the first one we walk to the room was clean but the next day the room was not do any service we didnâ€t know we have to make appointment to clean the room charge u
The resort, itself is fine. Overpriced for what it is. You are paying for its location right on the beach. That was by far the best thing about the hotel. Nearby pier village is somewhat convenient. But lacking in anything of interest. Food choices are crowded and minimal and overpriced. The surrounding area just outside the resort is horrible. Run down and feels unsafe. Due to covid the hotel seemed understaffed, but overall....customer service was good. The guys who work the beach...pulling out beach loungers and umbrellas are AWESOME. very kind, efficient, and accommodating. If I could put this resort at spring lake or asbury park...I’d return, but long branch is a really sketchy location, for the money...go somewhere else. Too bad....cause the hotel was decent and had Very good (but overworked) employees.
The worst experience ever! Rude staff, 1.5 hours waiting for breakfast to be seated. Very old rooms and hotel in general. The rooms are not cleaned daily, and thats understood (in these times), but no towels, shampoo or coffee were brought to the door (like other hotels do)! A lot of young people who are not guests of the hotel are allowed on premises because of the Tiki bar they have outside. They are drunk and loud, and allowed into the hotel!?But what was the most important for me is the service (no service at all) we have received for the money we spent per night in this 4 star hotel???!!!!Be ware and do not book the room there, it is not worth it.
Awful! Do not waste your money!! The beach had NO social distancing whatsoever, neither did the pool or bar area. Restaurant food was mediocre at best. Front desk staff rude. The friendliest people who followed the rules were the towel people. A great place to go if you want overpriced rooms and coronovirus.
One of the best hotels hands down pricey but worth it
Rooms are beautiful.Spa massage was excellent. But the manager at the spa was rude and lack of good customer service.
My family booked two nights for me at this Hotel for my Birthday and I could not wait to get away. (Aug 5th & 6th). Unfortunately there was an electrical outage on both days. Although the staff were very nice with our accommodations, there was nothing they could do for us in regards to rescheduling our stay, they said we would not get the same rate because the prices fluctuated so the whole time Im thinking we got a great deal, I had no idea what the rooms cost because it was a gift. I was never given a bill so when I did find out what the room cost for the two nights I was truly upset because it was not worth it. If I would have known I would have canceled and gone home or to another Hotel. We were charged fees for things we did not get to enjoy. We had no access to the pool on the first night. The electricity was on and off on both days in the area, mostly off. Other than the location there is nothing great I can say about this Hotel. The fact that this Hotel did absolutely nothing to show us they cared is unfair to me and my family. We were also charged for towels which we returned, thank goodness my husband found the receipt. I called several times and my calls were not returned and there were long holds even when I called on the 14th. :(
Amazing place. Perfect discreet getaways thats close to NYC and you just take a 1.5hr drive and you there. Awesome staff awesome pool. Hotel has private access to the beach and the food is amazing. The room decor is nice and the drinks are very good. The hotel entrance is very nice and you literally feel like your not in jersey. Nicer than AC unless you want to gamble.
Verry good grounds service is decent
A conference I attended last year was held at Ocean Place. I could not believe the condition of the room. As others have said, it is very dated, dirty, furniture broken, interior doors/heating/cooling dont work properly, rude service (no one cares about the issues in your room)..list goes on. Yes location is amazing but it is so overpriced because of the rooms! I would NEVER stay at this place unless the rooms were renovated. I called just this week to inquire about this as I am taking my mom for a mini-break somewhere and they say yes, second floor rooms were. They happen to be all suites, but get this, on a weeknight the cheapest suite is $899!! Yes, I laughed when the girl told me this. Needless to say not staying here.
Apparently they lost power on Tuesday-Wednesday from the storm. No one can fault them for this. Their phone system is down as well. That said, my wife, 3-week old son and I had a reservation there last night. No one had the thought or professionalism to email and/or call guests to tell them that “At this time the hotel is without power. We do not have a time when the power will be up & running...”The ONLY way I found out was from my email I g them just before we were about to leave from NYCHow is this possible?I called and emailed them multiple times today to confirm that we were obviously canceling....no response...The hotel looks great from the pics...however would you take your newborn to a place with no power and no decency to alert its guests?Hope this post helps other in the same situation!!!
Today it is Monday, but a special day for my husband and myself. Anniversary and we are in our 50’s had a nice dinner in nearby and had passed by this hotel many times which is in a very location right in front of beach. Walked in and asked front desk politely for the coming weekend if any room available ( thought about come with friends ). Haha they called the police believe or not.we look very normal people, of course not white american . We totally confused about why police came and waste for taxpayer money just because we had asked for coming weekend availability. All the police can tell me is leave and go back home now . No confrontation in earlier moment. We videotaped. Very interesting and disturbing. If you are not white people, don’t dare to come here. ( we look very normal, not threatening but not white haha)
Great location, huge property friendly staff. The shared areas are contemporary, the rooms show their age and could use renovation.
My family and I love to come down to the jersey shore every year, we usually will spend a few days in Long Branch visiting with family who live near by. Ocean Place Resort is the only place we stay when we are in town.
Beautiful place to getaway when you want to just relax.
There is a tiki bar facing the beach. I have stopped in many times and had a beautiful experience. However, unlike all other visits o thisn Sunday night, there was a group of young adults who were LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS. NO one else was acting that way except for the 6 or so people involved. They were intimidating in their loud behaviour, almost to the point of a challenge for any of the other people to object. I do not understand why they were permitted to be so out of place with their social decorum at your establishment. Very sad, if this is the new thing that matters. I guess your security people chose to be politically incorrect.
This hotel definitely has its charm, but what it offers doesnt justify the hefty price tag. The food was good, but not all that great. The view is probably the best thing it has going for it.
Good place to relax and chill. They have double beds, king queen, and suite too. We unfortunately got a double bed just for 2 people with a swimming pool view. Rooms near swimming pool does not have that much of privacy cz people are always in the pool and you cannot keep the curtains open due to lack of privacy. Little bit of beach view is also available from the pool view rooms . They are OK for the price. Try getting sea view rooms if you spending so much to stay here only then it’s worth it. Many restaurants around. Even the hotel have their own restaurants . Last 3 pics are from the ocean view room.
This review is about customer service...my family and I were supposed to stay there for a week in the beginning of July. Due to covid, we cancelled our stay May 8th - 2 months prior to when we were supposed to arrive. I had paid in full - over $2000 when I booked. I had called about 3 times, every few weeks when I kept noticing that my credit card had not been refunded. They told me I was on a waiting list...I was nice, I was patient, I said ok Ill wait and try again in a few weeks. Well now it is August 11th. I called again today, spoke to someone named MARIA. I asked to speak to a manager. She told me the manager stepped away from her desk. I asked her to leave her a message and told her how upset I am about the long delay in processing a refund. She kept interrupting me, and then accused me of yelling at her when I kept talking over her every time she interrupted me. She then hung up on me. Nice customer service right? Be very careful about booking here and stay on top of it if you ever need a refund. So far I am out $2000, I never stepped foot in the place and cancelled 2 MONTHS PRIOR TO MY VISIT.
We chose this “resort” and paid over $500/night for our first trip outside of NYC in 5 months because of all of the COVID-19 safety policies advertised. Sadly, none of them are enforced and the staff can’t even adhere to them. Bartenders inside are serving people who aren’t wearing masks and definitely not asking them to put them on despite signs all over the lobbies requiring them, the outside staff were rarely wearing their own masks, and the housekeeping staff kept getting on the elevator with us even though there are posted instructions of no more than 2 people at a time. The outdoor bar and beach are not socially distanced at all, and no one really seems to care about taking precautions, just about the party (which includes a terrible DJ playing music that we could hear blasting inside our 12th floor room with the balcony doors closed). Beyond that, the rooms are just standard and the food is horrible. Definitely not resort quality. We checked out a night early — the manager apologized, but didn’t have anything to offer in regards to us feeling unsafe on the property, and said he’d have to get back to us about refunding the final night.... We’re not hopeful and will not be returning. Would not recommend.
Great space for the family. Love it there. Coming back soon.
Pros:-Great view of the ocean.-The front desk worker was very nice to us when we checked in.Cons:-Very poor value for the price. The room was not any nicer than any mid-range hotel I’ve ever stayed at. It was actually worse and more outdated than some. There was no alarm clock, overhead light, bedside lamps, or USB charging ports.-When we arrived our bed sheets were not even tucked under the mattress, just a flat sheet laying on top and when I went to sit on the bed I noticed the bare mattress underneath me.-They advertise free WiFi but it’s public with no password so anyone in range of the hotel can get on it. In our room we were unable to get any signal on the WiFi at all. When we called the front desk we were told “that’s the only WiFi we have.” And then he recommended turning our phones on and off again.- They advertise 2 bottles of water per room per day and in-room coffee included. But if you want to get those you have to call down each day to ask for them. One of the days we called to ask for water and coffee, and two hours later someone brought us coffee pods for the wrong machine, and no waters.-Safety measures that were advertised were not strictly adhered to. All staff indoors wore masks, but almost none of the outdoor staff wore them. They only take your temperature once, when you check in. To get to and from the beach you have to walk through the bar area where there are large crowds of people, none of them wearing masks. We chose this hotel because of all the advertise safety measures in place but I did not feel safe anywhere outside of our room.-On our last night there they had some event down at the outdoor bar. The bass from the music reverberated through our room starting at 5PM. I called the front desk to ask how long it was going to last and was told “it should go until about 9”. It was so loud I had to leave the room and sit in the car out front.
This resort has seen better days...
This spa is always a perennial winter treat. Every massage therapist I’ve had has been professional and skillful. Being able to spend the day using the spa facilities is my favorite part, especially lying in a warm plush robe in an indoor cabana overlooking the cold ocean. Relaxation and solitude! It’s practically a retreat! The hotel does need to better maintain the details of the changing room, steam room and shower. It’s too new and elegant to be showing dust, wear and tear.
Horrible service. Room had trash in it when I checked in.
Love this place, been returning there over the years! Beach front property with very comfortable accommodations, friendly staff, great restaurant with seasonal outdoor seating and bar. Lots of shops in short walking distance. Great place for meetings, weddings and anything in between!
Gorgeous lobby, great onsite amenities, and excellent location on the beach near the boardwalk with lots of restaurants, shops and bars! Love that the rooms have balconies with fantastic views of the water and the occasional surprise firework show in the evening! There are places where you can tell rooms are old and a little tired, but theyre clean.
I got this room specifically for the view - which was fabulous. The bed was comfy, good pressure in the shower, and everything was clean. Check in and out were quick and easy as well. But honestly, Ive gotten those things and more at much cheaper hotels. Its the off season, so the rate was really good - I wouldnt choose to stay here in the summer.
I cant really figure this place out but maybe it is because I am always there in the winter off-season. Maybe summer is blissful and remarkable but it always seems so cold and devoid of welcome. It overlooks the ocean, which is beautiful and the staff is friendly IF you bump into them. The resort fee of $30 in the winter gives you NOTHING. It’s a glorified Hampton Inn from October-April but you pay a fee and the front desk just shrugs it off.
Horrible customer service charged me over $900, Never sent conformation email or room details. Spoke with manager who refused to issue refund and stated You are responsible for your reservation dont recommend staying here
Nikea is a wonderful person and deserves a raise. She is the Queen of Customer Service and was by far the nicest person we’ve spoken to in the Long Beach area.
This review is based on my personal experience. As soon as me my wife & my 1 year old reached we had to wait 1 hour just to check in because their were alot of people at the front desk complaining about something to the managers. We paid around 1100 for 1 bedroom with 2 queen beds. Everything is out dated and very un comfortable.the tv in the room was flickering & having issues . The wifi signal kept dropping every 3 second. Dont be fooled by the pictures you see. This place is 100% not worth the money . I could of gone to Kalahari for 2 night stay in upgraded sweet. The only positive I have is that the beach is right out front & the staff at the front desk are professional. Never coming back here again.
Very nice place to hang out for formal meetings. Popular dating spot. Drinks are not too expensive which is nice. Plenty sitting space in the lounge and upstairs.Great access to promenade and beach.
One of my favorite casinos in New Jersey. It is always clean and staff is friendly. The rooms are spectacular and of course the casino is great!
First Class service all around !
Great views nice location the amenities are good. I love using the jacuzzi there its almost always empty in off season. The flat sheets on the bed are not the best and fall off easily, but the rooms are extremely clean.
Beautiful hotel! Had a amazing experience!
Seems like a nice place to catch you and your family some Covid. After taxes and fees, we paid over $1400 for four nights. With that, we expected more covid vigilance than what was observed. One morning we decided to check out the pool. After applying sunblock we opted out because we felt it was entirely too small for distancing purposes. But the thing that got my goat was the woman who was in charge of having guests sign in didn’t have a mask and so you are forced to be in her face while signing on the clipboard. Not cool.Same with the beach entry. It’s a very narrow entryway and you are forced to pass people who are maskless, manning the entry. A simple solution would just be to move the chair over a bit. At least a foot. That would’ve been better than breathing over everyone who comes and goes. Just. Move. The. Chair. Over.Same with the included beach chairs and umbrellas. If you want a chair or umbrella, you’ll have to tip—with no mask by the hotel employees. For the first beach day, we opted for no chairs/umbrellas for this reason. I’d rather have sand up my crack than let covid Kevin be the third person I’m literally forced to share maskless air with.Common courtesy would be to simply put your mask on when you’re forced to share air space with a customer. Nobody expects folks outside to have a mask on all the time. Just put it on when someone is forced to share your personal space. When I went to ask the front desk about the lady at the pool with the clipboard, I noticed two hotel employees with their noses out of theirs. No point in complaining, better to just stay far away and cross all our fingers and toes. Which is what we did. And checked out a day early. (Bye bye over $400!)Also, when taking the tot for a walk, we noticed that the bar downstairs was packed—no masks. And when I say packed, I mean people on top of people on top of people.
I give this place a two, and that’s just for the beautiful beach and boardwalk. If the place was only managed properly it could earn five stars easily. It’s like a Ferrari with no engine! There were 50 (I counted ) empty tables for breakfast, with a buffet and two workers running around serving coffee. Took one hour to seat my girl and I with ten people in front of us.Dinner was an even bigger joke, your better off taking a walk to a local eatery which there are plenty of.They promised barn fires at night but they were understaffed to do so. Anything you did they were holding a gun to your head. Not a rude staff, just very confused. Typical seasonal place that does not train their staff for their jobs. The beach was beautiful, they were willing and able to put down a chair and umbrella for you. Drinks on the beach was a great touch, except for the small plastic Dixie cups at 12 bucks a drink. One thing I find totally rude on the beach is someone bringing a boom box and expecting everyone wanting to hear their choice of music. Well, I was not at Rockaway or Coney Island. I was at a private beach, and even though numerous people complained the staff said nothing. At $500 a night (My Nona would have smacked me) I total must say I did not feel like a Jack ass, I was!Considering I just came back from six days in Cancun, all inclusive, liquor included, meals and Airfare for $1500 each. I spent more then that in two days at a fake,”Wanna Be”, Ocean Resort.Like I said, it’s a beautiful place, they have all the puzzle pieces, but I think the management is blind.
For this price... Dont bother. The wifi is weak because it is raining OK how can we send someone to the moon and yet hear this kind of excuses. we ran out of pina colada yesterday! how is that possible during a summer at the beach. OK this hôtel is just not working out can we cancel our second night? no! 10 days policies well in that case step it up because you are a joke. $450 a night, the ice machine doesnt even work. I dont know what are you guys thinking. We are going through a tough time and I thought that because of covid we would have the best service because you are dying for customers. This hotel is a joke and I cant wait to get out of it. Good luck surviving the pendemic
Private beach isnt so private anymore. Commendable COVID procedures tho.
The reception by the staff was less than impressive. On arrival in my room there was no tissues, no toilet paper, when I called housekeeping they promised theyd send someone, but no one showed up. The rooms were OK, the vista to the ocean spectacular. The front desk never seem to answer the phone.
