The directions take you to a dead end in a neighborhood, but WOW I loved this trail. Our kids had such a great time and it was so serene. I would love to come again in winter and also in early spring to see the birds!
Love this place! Trails are clearly marked which I love. There wasnt much water flowing, but thats to be expected in the summer ( i will have to check it out in the spring). Theres parking for about 7 cars, so thats the only downfall. It really is beautiful place to hike.
Surprisingly nice nature trail. The paths are rugged, which I prefer. Feels like you are getting lost in the wilderness, which is a great relief from Buffalo city life.
Dont waste your time, no clear entry point for awful trail and not much water to see at all.A way better place to go is Locport nature trail.
Trails are not very well maintained. Lots of loose rocks make walking difficult in some areas. Wooden bridges and benches are in very good condition. Made it through on a mountain bike with some difficulty.
Nice park to wander around on one of those late-winter days that we sometimes get in mid-April. Park in the gravel area right next to the railroad crossing on Niagara St, at the south end of the park. Theres a trail map 45 yards northwest of the parking area (ie, as you walk away from the railroad). Lots of big, 6 to 12-inch rocks in some areas kept things from being too muddy, but wear study boots.
Cute little spot to wander around!
Loved it, just be careful and no little ones. And parking will be hard to find, but its there.
Had some time to kill on a Saturday and saw the wilderness park on the map so decided to stop by thinking it would be a good place to do so.I missed the parking spot the first time around. You really need to be on the look out as the sign is off the road a bit in the tree line and the parking lot is just an extended shoulder.Nicely posted trail map right at the trail head but it seemed that the first trail was a. It grown in. Lots of overhang from the plant life, so either know your plants or wear long pants. My goal was the creek bed and I found access shortly after hitting the trail. It was gorgeous.I was easily able to traverse the creek for close to half a mile with no difficulty. A few small falls but again it was easy to navigate. The only negative I had was some idiot left a lawn chair sitting in a deeper pool. Will definitely visit again.
Great yo get out in nature and enjoy the atmosphere
My kids love it there
If youre looking for a place for hiking and want a few path options in one place, this is definitely a good place to go.I recommend wearing boots or hiking sneakers as terrain is rocky and muddy. Kid friendly Id say ages 7 or 8 up but definitely Need to keep close eye on child as path narrows in many areas and terrain gets a little tricky.but my son LOVED it.
Still an absolute breath taking place. A bit neglected over the years, but a piece of heaven. I learned to love this place over 20yrs ago thanks to Paul Dewey, greatest teacher ever. And now Ive passed it on to my children. Just wish people would stop throwing garbage all over it
Where do you park for this place?? cant seem to find anything on the map or any info
A nice little hike here in the city. A place to set or hike quietly with little traffic on the trails.
Trails were great I wish I could have hiked their all day
The craft show was nice and it is a beautiful place
Great trails and waterfalls. Places to rest and watch critters running about. Salamanders, crawfish and chipmunks were the kids favorites! We enjoyed the bridges and the upkeep of the park/trails! It has become a little busier year after year, but is still worth the exploration!
Nice small hidden park. Trails are rugged in spots, lots of rocks. Nice waterfall.Hard to find, very small parking lot.A few miles of trails.
A nice trail right outside of Lockport. There are actually two trails on each side of a creek, allowing you up to four miles if hiking in this one park. At the northern end are some falls, and some ancient mechanical valves, which speak to an earlier and simpler sewage system. Thank god that they are rusted shut!
My favorite walking my dog place. We do 2.34 miles per day. Very peaceful
Beautiful trails to walk!
Trails are not well kept but still gorgeous
Nicely wooded trail. Rocky in parts. Probably not suitable for kids under like 5 or 6. I kept thinking my dog was going to break a leg or something. No garbage cans which means the poop bag is going in the car with you. Took me about 4 trips around it to find my way it. Put 1097 W Jackson StLockport, NY 14094 in your gps. There is a very small entrance near this address. No parking lot, just a small clearing. Enjoy and remember to leave it as you found it!
A fairly short unexciting walk, deciduous, mostly beech and maple. Extremely buggy (Oct 16) and a bit muddy.Stream was totally dry - so no waterfall - but it should be more exciting if there is more water.Very difficult to find the trail start
Great trails for wandering through the woods.
Love it here!
Well kept, scenic.
So peaceful
Great trails gorgeous scenery
Hidden, wasnt easiest to find but once there, what a treasure
The Best !
Grateful Wilderness hike
Good hiking trails
Very hard to find gem-of-a-park. about 2 miles of hiking trails through a ravine. a couple bridges over the creek at the bottom. One of the sort of places you drive by a hundred times and never even realize its there.
