Such a wonderful place! Kind people and a beautiful view! The wine is delicious! Everything shows that much love and care has been poured into making the place look and run perfectly. The only thing they are missing is a 16ft bass windchime
John Evans is a very kind and generous wine maker who cares about his excellent coworkers, resource partners, customers, and his craft.Raise a glass to all those who appreciates the long and laborious journey (from sunlight, administered moisture and curated vines) to create wine to delight us in consumption.
So happy with this winery! The staff is WONDERFUL and so personable. The wine is well thought out and made with a lot of care. Its homey too! I also love the art work. We were so impressed with everything, and how it hit all of our marks that we joined the John Evans club at our first visit, so we will definitely be back with friends and family!
My favorite winery in the area. Always love chatting with the knowledgeable staff. It is fantastic to actually see the winemaker John Evans and have the opportunity to speak with him. They have a nice selection of magnums available as well.
Extremely friendly workers, the art is amazing! Love this place and the wine maker draws a lot of the bottle labels. So authentic
My first impression walking in was how neat it was that they have a whole bunch of paintings on the walls. Turns out most (or all?) of the paintings are done by the owners sister. Its nice that the family sticks together and it gives the vineyard a nice small town family feel. The staff here were very friendly and we had a nice long conversation with a young woman there which is enjoyable. At some places the staff seem to feel pressured to rush or make a sale but this place felt much more relaxed and comfortable. I even witnessed the woman we had been chatting with encourage an older couple to take their time and take in the views of the property and just let someone know if they were ready to try some wines. I am not a huge wine drinker so for me a large part of the experience is the atmosphere and a general sensation of comfort and relaxation and this winery definitely made me feel that.I do have a sweet tooth and this time they werent tasting many wines that appealed to me though my lady (who has the exact opposite taste buds as me) enjoyed some of the reds. I was encouraged to come back later in the year when they bring out their sweeter wines and we purchased a peach sparkling wine that my lady says I will love. When we open that and I try it I suspect I may change my rating from 4 to 5 stars. My lady has come here a number of times and was excited to share this place with us as we were in the area and she remembered really liking it. The location is beautiful and right now (spring) the hills are especially green so the aesthetics are even a notch higher than usual. Theres a large open patio area with picnic tables and great views of the vines on the hill.
Great Cab Sauv and Grenache Blanc. Well be back for more.
Absolutely fabulous little winery. We especially enjoyed the bubbles, the staff was wonderful and the location beautiful. We will be back.
Always enjoy being there. They make you feel like they are your family.
Great staff and good wines. Get the peach sparkling, Peche Mignon. Love the art work hanging around and very relaxed environment
I wasnt all that impressed with their wines except the Peach Sparkling Wine. Im not a sweet or sparkling wine person but it was so great with very subtle peach flavor. Awesome staff that suggested a bunch of wineries to visit while in Livermore. Very cool and unique art in the tasting room and labels. $5 tasting fee when I went.
Great staff and the wine selection is amazing
Love this place
Great quaint place to sip wine. A hidden treasure
My go-to for Livermore cabernets. John Evans does some really big cabernets, and his peach mignon is simply delightful. The Big White House offers a very deep tasting menu and the setting is truly unique. Johns sister is an artist and many of her original paintings adorn the tasting room, including originals of some of the wine labels. If you go wine tasting in Livermore, put Big White House at the top of the list!
Awesome wine. John is an amazing winemaker.
Tried the Pinot Evil. Horrible! I think this was the worse wine Ive ever had. I even tried contacting the winery, but they refuse to list a phone number, and havent bothered to call me back from the email I sent (its been about a month).
We love the Petite Sirah! And the setting!
A great winery.
This was great fun!
John does an excellent job crafting phenomenal wines
