Nothing to dislike...A perfect place to see movies...we love it. As soon as it reopens go! Keep it functioning! Please!
Great, nostalgic theater. Clean bathrooms. Kenny is always polite & greets all guests as they enter. Great variety of snacks, beverages, and food delivered from Zephyr restaurant next door for those wishing to have dinner & a show on site!Nice selection of movies, both indie and others. Cool events like Academy Awards night, classic movie night, and so on.Chairs are very comfortable, theater is well-maintained, free parking on street in front & in sides and lot in rear. Easy access to other restaurants downtown, too, so lots of eating options.Highly recommended this gem in downtown Livermore. Frequent guest card earns free tickets, too!
This is the best theater ever! Wonderful selection of food (both from the restaurant next door and also inhouse). Beer and wine selection is pretty good too. Usually have a good stout or porter on tap, which is hard to find year round elsewhere. Workers are friendly and new seating is very comfy.
This theater has a vintage feel. Wine and beer are available. Movie screen is small so we always sit in middle rows. It has sofas for comfy seating, and small tables for food that can be bought from the theater or ordered from the adjacent restaurant. I didn’t give 5 stars because it doesn’t feel very clean. Seats seem to need upgrading. The carpet floor outside the 2 screen rooms often are dirtied with napkins and spilled popcorn. Staff are friendly.
The best place in the valley to watch a movie.Enjoy a beer or glass of wine with the movie and some yummy food made to order from Zepher next door. They even have Gelato.
Really nice layout to the place, very friendly and welcoming. Sofas available in the screens and the regular seating was very comfortable as well. Great little bar on the way in with friendly staff who made us all feel very happy to be there. Well be going back again!
Went to the Vine to see the sing-a-long version of Grease. The place was packed! Concession line went quickly and the team working had a great attitude despite how busy it was. Great beer/wine selection, very clean. Highly recommend
Off the cuff cinema fare, wonderful beer and good selections, comfortable seating. Wonderful non peak time. Great for watching Sharks games. Friendly staff, clean facilities. Parking a chore during peak times. Best during mid week afternoons. Small, intimate, and comfortable. Best way to see small release movies
Old fashion cinema with cool actual couches and tables. You get to drink beer or wine and eat good food from next door. Movies are excellent too, recent and more from the independent style. Staff is friendly too.
Loved this place. Comfortable seating and huge screen to watch the movie on. Sound was amazing. Did not eat but did have a lovely glass of wine. Would definitely recommend this place.
Just enjoy the atmosphere! Always a good time
I still really like going there. I go on classic night Thursdays. Some good times watching warriors games as well. Go there, have fun, thank me after.
What a great place to enjoy a good movie and munch on tasty food, and have a choice in soft comfie couch style seating or standard movie theater seating. It nice to watch a movie with friends in a regular movie theater environment. I mean reclier seats are nice but regular seats are great.
Wonderful Christmas time movie white Christmas
Great staff and theater! The fact that you can order food and have it delivered to your seat in the theater. Some of the seats have tables. They even serve liquor. :-)
Great place love ️ the mango beer.
Love this place! Good movies, decent beer.
A quality movie experience. Never really crowded, big lush recliner chairs, and an ample selection of snacks. Enjoy going there!
Love this place. Classics and Indies. Order food and drinks, delivered right to your seat (or couch). A bit pricey for the food but fun for a date night.
Good food comfortable seating good beer
Great place to enjoy a movie and beer!
Way-Way Better then Reclined Seats-NO ASSIGNED AREA!!-By Suprise they accomodate COUCH SEATING with Pizza Size Round Tables! Also Deliver pizza/wine or any while you Enjoy Watching the Movie!A-List Theatre Experience!...Very different from other Cinemas!
Had no idea how cool this place was..... Picked tonight to see a drama. A Star is Born with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.. Incredibly well done... Cried my eyes out.... Great remake..... Terrific theater.... One of my new favorite places
Truly a memorable venue, what was that name of that movie again? A step back look of what it could have been sixty years ago. Loved it!!!
Great place to relax and watch a movie
Superbowl fun what a great idea.
My absolute favorite place to see movies. Go now. Stop what youre doing, even if its giving birth, and go see a film at The Vine.
Love the relaxed couches, the great wine and good selections and ambiance!
Very cool theater. Tables at your seats to drink (yes, apparently I enjoy drinking. Ive noticed how often my reviews mention this. Ill keep an eye on it.), while you watch the movie and they bring you your food.
Love this venue...eat good food while watching a movie.
Love coming here to see movies. The seats are few and lots of leg room for those who are tall. I like having a wine and popcorn or chocolate and ordering food and be able to sit on one of their love seats couches, or just in a chair with a side table, to make it feel more comfy feel. The employees are nice and accommodating. Very friendly people all around.
Decades ago, this was the cheap theater you came to as a kid when you had to pay your own way. Now this place is the most unique movie going experienced I have ever had. If you decide to go up front, you have a little mini love seat for you and your date to kick back and relax while eating something tasty from the restaurant next door. You must try it at least once in your life.
I like this theater. They always Show excellent movies. You can order food from the restaurant next door and its delivered to you at the theater and you can sit at a chair with a table eat and watch the movie. Parking can be a chore though
Fun but menu could be more expansive.
Love the new Vine Cinema. Has reinvented itself in ways that many discerning serious movie-goers will love. Plenty of leg room, tables and food/beverage options to be brought along make you feel more at home than your regular cinema outing.
Such a cool old school theater! Dont get the chicken wings though
Alternative, artistic movies that are mainstream enough to be relevant. Great screens and sound. Comfortable seats and couches. Tables for food. Attentive and caring staff, without attitude. Great food and drinks. Fresh air conditioning, clean theaters and bathrooms. Theres even a comfortable lounge with bar tables, when waiting for shows to start, which are often filled with patrons chatting. Never any disruptive incidents, loud people or ringing phones, like at the large, corporate movie houses. But they often have the sound way too loud and there is only street parking.
Great place to not be in crowds and still watch a good movie
Love, love, love this place. Best place ever to watch a movie at
Very cool fun little theater. Unique features like little tables in the theater for drinks and snacks. They serve adult beverages along with the usual awesome movie food. Check it out if your in the area.
I love having a local theater that shows independent, art, foreign, and non-blockbusters that we would miss otherwise. Also, dinner and beer/wine with a movie cant be beat!
We come here once a year for a special event and it is a very nice establishment.
Very accommodating! Great management, always willing to help with fundraising!
Great old school place with a modern touch!
Cute place to see a movie! Nice menu with many food & drink options. You can get comfortable sitting on the loveseats almost like home.
Classic movie theater with comfortable loveseats for 2
Indie film enthusiasts unite here. Current independent films. Historic theater restored with current creature comforts you’d find in theaters now. The theater still maintains its historic and vintage charm. Ale and snacks are served here. Quaint and charming and enjoyable at comparable prices. Closer location for indie films if you live farther outside the Bay Area.
Have been many times and enjoy it every time. Its nice to be able to have a glass of wine and some popcorn and sit in comfy seats to watch movies. you can also order food from the restaurant next door and have it delivered to your table in the theater. Will definitely be back.
If you like small movies go here. Big place. Order dinner. They are tied into a restaurant next door. Tables then available in the theater. Seats are old tho.
Best day ever ️
Do you want more than popcorn and soda with your movie? Head to the Vine for quality craft beers, wine and food plus quality films. The staff are friendly and helpful.
I enjoy this vintage cinema. The surrounding and glamour of old Hollywood premiers brings me back to the good old days of cinema viewing. The Vine attracts a more mature audience and does get busy quite often. I like the food selection its mostly fattening foods though like nachos, hot dogs, pizza, chicken tenders. The actual theater has standard theater seats and sofas. I like sitting in the sofa as I feel more comfortable and feels more cozy. They bring you your food order to your seat in the theater also. They also show more independent films which is a plus.
This is such a unique movie house. My wife and I enjoy their movie selections. We sit and enjoy our glass of craft style beer and local Livermore wine. Then eat our meal while watching the flick. Its an old school venue but we enjoy the ambiance. Highly recommend it as a must do date night location.
Great atmosphere and great movie offerings!!
I love this place. Its a fantastic setting to watch indie movies over wine. A Livermore icon!
Had a private party here and it was wonderful. The manager, Kenny, was very friendly and helpful.
If you want to go to a movie with all of the convenience of watching it in your house, this is the way to go.
Nice theater. Clean, nicely equipped, good sound, and clear picture. Plus wide selection of alcoholic beverages. Food is much better then standard theater fair.
Love this place! Come sit in the sofas. Order dinner and watch a movie.
Expertly run. Great crew. Comfortable seats. Best popcorn in the tri-valley.
Nice, but the theater is long and narrow without much table seating for food. Could be better designed. And the food is nothing special, either.
I love this theater. Garlic fries and red wine are great with any move. We try to always get a couch. Love seeing the older movies on the big screen.
Wow, what a fun joint. Its a much different feel--cozier, friendlier, more intimate--than something like an AMC dine-in theater. Feels very much like an art house theater from decades ago, so its awesome to see that people who are really passionate about movies and the neighborhood theater feel are still out there making it happen!
Cute place that shows some older and indie films. Its a bit small/old. The theaters have couches though.
The Vine is an excellent Cinema and weve always enjoyed it but last night we had a bad experience. We happened to have a coupon from our real estate agent (Co-marketing between the agent and the Vine) for free tickets on the third Tuesday of the month. The person working the ticket booth refused to honor the tickets because the agent usually comes and greets the guests then we settle up later (something like that, but the ticket has no such wording). We paid for our tickets because we wanted to see the film and had already planned the evening around it. After returning to discuss again and review the coupon (which had no fine print or exclusions), she refused to address her mistake and refund/credit us the ticket price. We and our guests will likely not return to this business as the person we dealt with made us feel as if we were not valued.
Went to a screening of La la Land on Oscars night. Staff was dressed to the nines for the occasion. Proper selection of beer and a decent pub-style menu to choose from, but had just eaten so I had drinks only. Couches and tables in the theater were a nice touch, and we enjoyed a tasty gelato on the way out after the show. Will return next time with an empty stomach to sample the food.
The movies shown at Vine Cinema almost always feature white casts. Ive attended a few movies here over the years hoping this was just a fluke but sadly as I have checked in for movie listings from time to time I have seen it is not a fluke. I have stayed away for a long time but I would start coming again in a heartbeat if I see a more diverse presentation in cinema. Its not like there isnt high quality cinema available featuring diversity.
I enjoyed the seating selection. We sat towards the back of the theater but I could still see the screen. We could hear the movie well and it wasnt too loud, like some theaters can be. We didnt try the food but plan on it when we return!
Shows the best independent movies. Food delivered to your seats and couches near the front!!
As if I stepped into a boutique cinema house.. extremely user friendly. Seating isnt crowded, wheelchairs can manage easy. The experience is enhanced with micro-beers, wine and food from nextdoor
When the new 20-theater Livermore Cinemas was built downtown several years ago, my family was afraid this smaller local favorite wouldnt make it. Thankfully, they were able to take several steps to appeal to a different market and create a wonderful atmosphere for independent and classic movies. My whole family loves going to different events put on by this theater and enjoys ordering beer and wine and food from the neighboring restaurant that can be delivered into the theater.
The seating is a little old school (not stadium seating and the chairs do not recline) however the seats are comfortable, there are sofas available, and there are tables if you decide to eat. They have a great menu and drinks available as well. There are not always a lot of movie options, but this is a great Livermire location.
Love this place! The couches in the theater are super comfortable and its really nice to have food and drinks while watching a movie on the big screen and cuddling with guy.
Great artsy film theater. Food, wine and beer way before mainstream theaters started offering it. The sofas provide good fooling around opportunities.
With the big theater opening downtown this place really did an excellent job of finding a new niche market to keep open! Make sure you get there a little early to snag a couch but either way the seating area is very nice. Food and beverages are always accessible and its great to have them brought out to you while you enjoy the show. They play some great Indie films and even sporting events so theres something here for everyone.
Its my favorite place to see a movie. They have big chair seating and bringing food from the Zephyr Diner next door. They are the best.
My brother rented the Vine for his 40 something Birthday. We used to go to the Vine as kids, that’s alll Livermore had. I moved away & returned 23 years later & I was glad to see it still there. I love the new concept as an ale house too. It’s a smaller venue, and has far more relaxed & comfortable seating - even Love seats if you want to snuggle with your date during the film, or put an unruly child between the two of you. They also have real tables to put your beverages, food & stuff. We loved it and the staff was awesome! Very attentive & accommodating to all of the people he invited. The Vine has definitely “adultified”, which is a nice change. I’d nearly sworn off movie theaters packed with unruly teens & sticky seats & floors. I think the industry has realized it has to make it more convenient & comfortable to attract adults back. I like the new theater in town too, with the reserved recliners. - but this was far more cozy & intimate. I tried taking my nephews to the other theater w/my Mom. We boxed in all 3 between us, but then we’re too far to just lean over a couple of kids & whisper. You have to get up & walk closer to even exchange little comments, such as who’s taking who to the bathroom or getting more popcorn- it was distracting. The Vine is awesome. Because of the different seating options, you can still communicate & not feel like you’re bothering all the rows behind you. It was an awesome experience! I would definitely recommend for date night or a birthday party. My Step-Sis rented it for her son’s b-day too. Again- totally awesome experience & I think they are super reasonable for private gigs, especially during the morning & before their first showings of whatever is playing. I love it! Great conversion & a lot of fun regardless of age. Also the food & adult beverages are definitely a nice bonus. Will be doing more with them in the future!
Great cinema that serves beer and wine. The ticket price is only $11 dollars.
A charming location to watch independent movies. You can order beer, food from zephyr (the restaurant next door) and of course the traditional movie fare like popcorn and candy. A great place!
I love how they play old movies here! Grad a bite at the Zephyr Bar and Grill and sit at a table in the theater! Fun and inviting atmosphere. Great service.
I love this place! This is the way that a movie should be enjoyed. Food, drinks, deserts and tables in the theater for you to enjoy them.my only complaint is that they could use a bit more variety in the menu, but all in all youre in for a great movie experience at the Vine!
Place is amazing the ticket staff have always been so courteous. Plus 5$ movies on Tuesday what a deal. BUT THE FOOD PRICES OMG THE PRICES. 7$ FOR A LARGE POPCORN
Very nice place. Beers and wine available. Soft love seats to sit on
Very nice place, but scheduled movie changed without notice.
Awesome place to watch a movie. A little old school yet modern vibe
Great films.
Went to my grand daughters 6th birthday party today at Vine Cinema in Pleasonton. What a great venue. Great facilities and plenty of room. Very.clean. I recommend it to anyone having such an event. Kids all had a great time and enjoyed the movie. Five Stars. Greg Jones
The Vine is always comfortable and relaxing, and we enjoy the Indie (non-mainstream) movies they show.
Great place to see s movie. Food is good and seats are comfortable.
The best theater in the tri-valley area. They serve food at your seat (from Zephyr Grill) and have an excellent beer and wine selection. This also a local favorite for special events such as Super Bowl and Oscar viewing parties.
I love the vine. A friendly experience with food service.
It is a good place to see a movie. We like having the option to get full meals if needed.
My favorite place when I want to run away. I love everything about this place!!!
Always a fun place to see a movie. Couches, pizza, beer. Shows artsy movies
