Matt was a great instructor! This is easier than you think. Fun fact Matt told us this is the only wake lark that goes in this direction around the course.
Wakeboard side was fine. Staff are friendly and helpful. The inflatable obstacle course was a disappointment. Broken trampoline and under inflated sections. Better maintenance needed on that side. Save the extra $15.
Had fun learning from the staff. Dont be afraid to ask questions, they are more than willing to help
My girls and their friend ages 7, 9 and 9 had a blast spending 2 hours climbing all over the obstacles. The parents enjoyed food and drinks on the outdoor patio at Taphouse overlooking the course. The course was a good value for the price. All participants are required to wear life jackets which are supplied at no additional charge by Hydrous. They seem to rotate the life guards frequently. I watched one life guard spend at least 20 minutes in his tower on his cell phone, rarely looking up at the water. His absolute lack of attention is why I gave the venue 2 stars. I would give it a higher rating for value/fun/cleanliness if they were to fix the safety issue with the life guards. We did not participate in the wake board portion of the park.
Nice facility, easy to get to, excellent instructor. Good fun on a hot afternoon.
A fun and energetic place for kids whilst parents can enjoy a meal.
Its jump park water is very cloudy, didnt seem clean at all. Not sure I would go back.
Kids enjoy tremendously. Very attentive staff
My kid and I loved this place. Neither one of us had ever wake boarded before but we thought we would give it a try. This concept rocked because there was no pressure to jump out there and start doing tricks right of the bat. The staff recommended we try two hours in the twos where we could try to stand up and do turns. It took us a couple of times landing on various parts of our bodies but by the end of it we were both able to stand up for quite some time. The staff was very patient and encouraging. My kid is not the kind to keep at things after failing, but she said afterwards that she couldnt wait to go back. She was even confident that after only one more time on the twos that she would be ready for the big one. Were going back very soon.
The most fun place and nice guys
Great people and great fun. The facility is really getting run down. Needs paint, needs a clean and overall refresh or reduce the price. As an example was not cleaned the entire week I was there with my son for camp.
This place was great, Chad and Cody were cool people! Cant wait to ride here again!
This is a great place for a fun and different date, for a family with kids, or just to watch. There is a walking path around Hydrous towards Beard Park. Its a short but pleasant walk for all ages. Its great to watch the wakeboarders even if you dont participate. Its even more fun to wakeboard. It was great my young daughter went to the kids section and my older son went to the area with the ramps and what not it was great I could see both and everything was well organized and well priced forgot to run sunscreen we regretted that till we saw they sold some we bought some for like 2$ It was great
Went to the Aqua Park with my grandson and the first step in the muddy bottom and green water I got a big cut on my foot! I told the lifeguard and he didn’t seem concerned at all! My grandson did have fun, but I don’t think we’re going to go back there anytime soon!
Loved it! Took a group of kids to play for a 2 hour session at the aqua park section. We did not water ski. Had a blast. Parents hung out in the lounge chairs and also at the restaurant. Open area so you can easily watch. All kids required to wear life jackets. Great night out!
We had so much fun will definitely be back. Visited from Houston
This place is awesome. I had never been wakeboarding before but the staff was friendly and very helpful.
First time at a cable park, it was awesome! went on a Friday afternoon in early November and had one other rider there so they were able to give tips. Landed a 360 off the kicker. They had plenty of obstacles to hit and they were super nice. Good vibes! rented board, jacket, helmet for reasonable price
During a rush they were so in a hurry to process people that they didnt properly go over safety before pushing me out on the water and I immediately hurt myself. Ive been in an immense amount of pain since. Dont go here. Its not worth it.
First off, this area of the wake park is for younger kids, like 10yrs old at best. The obstacles are tiny sized.Secondly, the water is putrid. There is no other way of describing it. A dank man- made pool of what seems to be stagnant water.Dont fall for it, even with a Groupon all that can be gained is your family begging for a shower.
Had a blast.. Looking forward to our next trip here...
Never going here again. Its a joke and SO NOT worth the money. Water is gross and smells really bad, even the little kids there comment on how much it stinks. The staff is way to young to know what the definition of work actually is and it shows. They are not helpful or professional at all. The so-called lifeguards just sit there, even when kids call for or need help. None of the staff care at all here. Staff said there are showers but they do not work and the bathrooms are horrible! This place just takes your money and you are on your own. Save yourself the time and money and pass this place up! Just keep on going otherwise, you will see for yourself what Im talking about.
Looks like its a blast to take the family. If recommend it
Best cable park experience Ive had.
My son really enjoyed his time here. He did the week long lessons and our visiting company had so much fun that they went 3 times in the dead of summer while here from NH. We cant wait til it gets warm again to go back. The instructors were great and knew exactly what they need to change about their form to get better.
Very friendly service! Fill out your waivers online to expedite the sign in process. It was my first time wake boarding and our instructor was awesome! Lots of fun!
Had a good time. Our first time wake boarding and the instructor, Sage, did a great job with my 8 year old. Can’t wait to go back.
The facilities were great. I liked the fact that a brew house is attached to the park. But how the line operators run the cable and wait line to ride was terrible. The operators set a fast lane and slow lane which really was our friends and regulars and everyone else lines. They would supposedly increase the cable speed and let the riders in the fast lane skip the line of riders in the slow lane. After the friends and regulars had 2-3 starts a piece, then they would supposedly slow the line down and let the slow lane riders all start once. Then back to fast. I say supposedly increase and decrease cable speed because I rode on both settings and couldnt tell a difference. A single wait line for riding the cable would be much more efficient at getting riders on the water and fair to everyone waiting. If the more experienced riders have a serious beef with the cable being a few mph slower then simply increase the cable speed for segments of time. Example: run the cable at 19mph every other 20 min and in between then run it at 16 mph; with only one wait line to get on the cable. The way it is operated now feels like the staff is giving preferential treatment to their friends and more experienced riders.
Fun park for big and small kids.
The kids loved the Aqua Park this summer. I loved it because they are required to wear a life jacket and there is a life guard on duty. I could relax and hang out on the patio at The Tap House with my friends while the kids were playing. Win/Win!
What a great time with granddaughters and great value. Never experienced anything like this place. Great family fun.
They put you on the beginner lake and watch you fall flat on your face for 30 minutes then you walk over to the main cable and they watch you fall flat on your face for the other 25 minutes. If you think that youll be able to make 1 circle around the pond if you are a beginner then you are kidding yourself.Youll see little 6 yr old kids jumping off the ramp but those children are there everyday and have been every day for a couple years now. They need to have beginners stay on the beginner lake until they can continually make it back & fourth at least 3 times without falling.
I have been to cable parks all over Texas, and I think they have one of the best run around. Plus there are 2 places within walking distance for a cold one after an afternoon ride
My kids have a blast. They had to do the trainging cable for the first 2 times we went. My 13 year got it down. My 10 year old still has a tough time. He likes the obstacles course area. And it only cost 15 bucks for a couple of hours... Enough time for me to go to the tap house Next door to grab a drink. The kids have to wear a life vest any time theyre in the water and the vest are always provided for no addinal cost. The staff is friendly. We try to go as often as possible.
Fun activity. Our sons loved it, however, water smells awful. My daughter got nauseous from smell in Aquapark. Had to leave early. The smell lingers even once they got out.
Absolutely disgusting. The water is green and all of the floats/obstacles have black crud growing on the bottom. Some of the obstacles have collected who knows what (has stuff floating in it). The wake board side might not be so bad, but I will not be returning to this cesspool
Not too crowded,. Tons of fun
Small but very good place for kids
Great place with a friendly vibe.
Awesome place. The guys are real encouraging!
Great concept, but needs some serious TLC to be great in practice. The water in all three ponds was disgusting. We left feeling absolutely gross. The equipment was pretty up for what it cost.. Lastly, they really need to put down some sort of grip tape or something on the stairs leading out of the water by the entrance deck. There is so much algae and crud, the wood is hella slippery. I slipped and fell, and really banged myself up good trying to go up those stairs after getting our of the water. I get it that they make you sign a liability release, but damn. At least try and make things safe. It really ruined my day there. I dont think we are going to go back. There are much better things to do around DFW for the same price.
I used to come to this wake park every day after school in 2015, I my friend and I had used Groupon to purchase 40 passes between the two of us that were promoted to come with both gear and a two hour ride pass and we had never had problems with this before. We went back yesterday because I had remembered that I still had passes left and we got in just fine, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately that did not last very long, as today we had shown up to go wake boarding like normal, and we asked if we could use two passes for each of us.Then we were informed that we still needed to pay for equipment after using one pass per person and we were confused, we had never had to pay before. After talking with the owner, we were told that after each pass it was $15-$25 dollars more for equipment which was never explained to us after going here for many years and that they would not honor the Groupon, which advertised that it came with equipment rental as well. The owner made no effort what so ever to help us and honor what we had purchased before, and was definitely not a very inviting person. I believe because the owner was there the sales woman that was working was less inclined to help us as he did not seem like he wanted us to be helped. We ended up leaving the park wondering why after all this time we were able to get in without having to pay for gear when we realized that they had been using two passes (each was supposed to be a pass for two hours and equipment) each time we had went without telling us. So when we had only gone 8-9 times prior when we arrived today we only had 23/40 passes left and nobody had informed us of this.Even at that, I wish they could have worked with us more but it seemed like they didnt want to help us at all. Very disappointed with the owners handling of the situation and that they no longer honor what I had purchased. He could have at least offered to let us use extra passes for equipment but rather just seemed to get annoyed/upset with us.
First time lessons were very beneficial, however if you have a fifth person it will cost you and additional $150, which is a rip-off.The 1 hour pass is the biggest scam I ever saw. You pay $40 to get a chance to maybe fall on your face twice in the one hour. The rest of the time you are waiting to get a chance to go again. The regulars jump the line and the workers let them do it! Total disappointment! Dont waste your money!
Love it been there its great
Great to learn for the kids. Needs a little TLC. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Super cool Cable!
Always fun. Tap house had great food!
Fun place to bring a group. We spent $300 for 2.5 hours for a group of 9. This included private wakeboarding lessons on a smaller lake, access to the aqua park (kids lake filled with bouce house like toys), & the main wakeboarding lake. You can bring your own cooler and relax on the grassy banks of the lake. Only 3 stars due to very slow check in process, minimal help at lifejacket and wakeboard distribution hut, and inexperienced staff. Overall we would return as the pros outweighed the cons.
Awesome place to learn to ride
Operators are nice. One of them let me borrow his personal wakeboard. Owner is cool. They are helpful with my kids.Update. I have been going there for about 3 years now. I just came back from there just now. Had a great time. Im so glad that there is a wakeboard Park in our area.
Great park and chill vibes. Super cool staff
Great experience the staff was very friendly and fun! Since I sucked at wake boarding, they let me kneeboad instead! A whole lot easier!
What a great surprise and great family fun. Friendly staff and the price was on point
Good price lots of fun. Parking can be tough on weekends when the restaurants next door are busy.
My son loves being there! Great atmosphere for kids to hang out.....kids are friendly & helpful to each other. Staff is courteous & helpful - its a great place!!!!
The staff is great and mostly well run. The only thing I would recommend is that you wear a shirt underneath the vests they provide. I was given a wet vest to use and ended up with a rash all over my back.
Great place to learn to wakeboard. Kid loves it! Staff is super nice and helpful.
Very disappointed with this place. Everyone in the family had to take 3 or 4 showers in order to get the smell off of us from the water. The prices were very high and not worth what you get. WILL NEVER COME BACK
Awesome wake board park. Restaurants on both sides. Lines can get long on the weekends.
Lit
It was awesome because they teach u everything and they are risk takers
A great addition to Little Elm. Very cool to come out an watch people in the summer.
This is so much fun, great places to learn and have a blast.
The hydrous wake park is made of a large circle of water to ski board on.it looks over the lake. There are ramps you ski up yet you hold on to a cable above your head and it pulls you around the body of water.theres a place attached to the park called the tap house that serves food and alcohol with inside/outside seating.sometimes a band on the weekends.
Love this place!
Went with my grandkids had a great time
This place rocks!
So much fun
So upset I called last week asking of they would be open all next week and was told yes and when I get there they are both in closed for maintenance on the cables. I drove 1000 miles to come here and wake board and I even tried both locations.
Lots of fun
Awesome fun!!!
Kids enjoyed it
Great park, good for beginner and advanced riders.
Super nice staff and awesome Bar and food
Lots of fun
Fun times
It was a blast!
Amazing water sports!
Best place to be!
I hated it because a instructor acted like I was a professional rider
It is a blast to go watch the wake boarders fall
