I too my dog there to get him acclimated with other dogs since he is a bit skittish. While there, I took him off the leash but soon after he was chased by another dog. After running after him, I lost him within seconds. We looked all over and was not able to find him. We were there a little after closing and even had two other woman looking for him. (Michelle and Janette). Both were very adamant on finding him even though we were complete strangers. My bf and I came back around 11pm and looked around with a flashlight. To my dismay, he was no were to be find and we didnt even know if he was still in the area since no one saw him. We decided to come back the following morning and started looking around the dog park, the bike trail, side streets, neighborhoods and even Independence Grove. Michelle was so kind to connect me with Sue Callahan who works for the Animal Control Department. She advised me how to proceed, and where to report the incident. Michelle made fliers and when we got there, she was handing them out to frequenters. The whole dog loving community was welcoming and friendly. Without Michelle, I would be at a total loss right now. While hanging up our 3rd poster, we got a call and someone found him on the opposite side of the park. He was sitting in mud on a little island. I could barely recognize him. At an impossible moment, and a time of total helplessness, the community and people like;Michelle, Janette and Sue Callahan were angles sent from above. I cannot thank them enough for constantly checking up, actively posting on various websites and following though with their word. Its a great park to go to, great land, people and youll have a fantastic time!
Beautiful fall day to walk around the lake. Our English Setter checked out every beach
Nice and spacious dog park, lots of areas for the dogs to play, and so nice its leashless.
Awesome dog park. Make sure you pay the daily fee online or buy a monthly pass because a cop sits there and checks. The information on how to pay is on the board when you first walk into the dog park
Nice, clean dog park for the dogs to run around.
Love this place. Its always super clean, the visitors are super friendly and most people show great dog ettiquite
Great park. Nice trails. Dogs can swim in the water at a few locations.
Awesome place, but its big so if you have a runner and they listen youre good. Our first trip we spent an hour looking for our free spirited dog.
Probably the best dog park that my dogs and I been to. The park is well maintained. Large area for the dogs to run and explore. What I love more is the trails that extend and wrap around the area. Good for the dogs and owners to walk around together. I suggest get the annual pass because daily pass gets expensive! My pass hasnt arrived yet and its been a month! LoL
One of the best dog parks. Well worth the drive from Antioch
Great place to bring your dog
Love this dog park! There is plenty of space. Lots of areas for the dogs to explore and play. Walking trail through the woods, an open field area, and 4 beaches for doggies to swim. $50 a year is definitely worth it.
Great dog park with a lake and nice walking trails. My 2 doggies love it there!!
Rented paddle boats & canoes. Biked the trails and enjoyed concession stand. And often visit the dog park behind it (entrance on 21). It’s a pleasant nature walk dogs love running free and swimming in the small lake. Love it!
Beautiful dog park. Great lake and woods. Highly recommended.
Nice people and dogs were all behave.Public security is there also for ticketing no parent tickets. Yay better pay. Thanks those who teaches me to get the enveloped for payment.
This place is incredible! Absolutely beautiful! The trails are always so fun to walk on, and my pups love jumping in the water every chance they get.Highly recommend visiting here. There is no other dog park like it!
Access to the water for the dogs, awesome trails that you can walk around, and a good place for dogs to play with each other.
Favorite dog park with water
Very nice place, however all the way in the corner there is a gate opening that they can escape from so be careful if you take your dog on trails.
Its like Great America for dogs! If you want to treat your pup to a great day of fun and exercise, this is it.
Great park with lovely trails and a large pond and a couple of beaches. Daily fee is pricey but a yearly pass is reasonable especially if you go to other lake county dog parks.
Love this park. One of the most well maintained public parks Ive ever been to
Nature, water, trails in the woods, whats not to love?
Always a good time for my pup here.No fault of the park but... Every so often (rare but does happen) you get ignorant people who either dont know the rules or chose to ignore them and either bring themselves or their whole family to bring in food to sit and eat here which is not good for the dogs and causes chaos or the jerks that come to fish here which is prohibited!!! ... Despite all that the this place is maintained EXCELLENT!
Lots of space for running your dogs
Great park with a lake. Trail around the lake makes this place a great walk for your dog. Parking fee is $10 and can be paid via phone app. Very convenient. Friendly people here. Remember to say hi when walking other dog lovers.
This place is beautiful! It makes you feel like youre at a regular forest preserve, not just a fenced in dog park. Beautiful trails and a lake for all to enjoy!
Absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. Me and my dog daughter make a day trip out here from the city all the time
The park is wonderful. Great path around the lake, several areas for dogs to enter lake to swim. Very well kept. My problem is dog owners. If you raise your dog to be unsociable...raise him to be a tough guy....dont bring him to a dog park and be proud of him. If there was only a way to qualify responsible dog owners
Awesome place its also a doggy beach and nice trails. It is a bit pricey for daily use but a better deal for season passes. They will also ticket and fine people who dont pay. Definitely worth the visit though
If you have a dog, and live in the greater Chicagoland area, you MUST take your dog here. As the map indicates, there is a large pond surrounded by a path and a general congregation area for dogs to run and play in. There are also several side paths for dogs to explore if they want to do some solitary adventuring (with their human parent(s) of course). Its also beautiful and relaxing year round! the ten dollar price of admission is well worth it! Spend a day here! Treat yourself and your pooch.
Wonderful dog park with great people! Its not just an open field, theres a walking path through the woods and a huge pond for the dogs to play in! It was my first time here and my dog loved it!
Favorite dog park we’ve visited!
My dog had so much fun.
This is the BEST dog park Ive been to! Has a nice beach for the dogs to swim and play together. The trails are nice and well kept. In the past Ive taken my lab to other parks and he always got attack by another dog whos owner wasnt watching their dog. Glad to say Ive never had a problem here. Owners are attentive to their dogs. Highly recommend bringing your dog here.
One of four Lake County areas for dogs. Good place for off leash. Good sized area with a small lake and river. Price favors residents and they do check for permits. Can be muddy. Most dogs are well behaved but you get some which are not properly trained.
Nice park to let you dog run around and for your dog to have a swim
I like the park because it is more of wooded trails but the whole thing is circling a lake and the other side of the trail is by a river/creek. Its very hard to keep a dog out of the water and the water seems to be mostly stagnant. For a free roam park its not the best but I enjoy taking the walk with Rex on the leash.
Beautiful park. Just wish it was fully enclosed. My dog made his way around the fence and across Rt. 21 (by way of the underpass) last October. He is trained but something caught his attention. Thankfully he somehow made his way back to the dog park, but I was hysterical. Have not been back since, which is a shame. : (
Beautiful spot with shady areas, it goes in a loop which is nice because it’s not too long either. The water in the pond is pretty murky though so I would suggest keeping dogs out of there because there is no hose there.
Awesome place my dog Bella loves this dog park.
Love coming here with my love bug. Never have a problem with any other dogs or owners. Pretty clean and very relaxing. Go at the right time and it is the most peaceful relaxing park. Wish there was a way to fence the water off for the winter when the water is frozen. Had a few almost heart attacks last winter because hes a Boykin Spaniel and just cant stay away from the water!
There are many holes in fence and gaps allowing medium to small dogs to escape. Talked to several members who stated they have called about this but its been over 6 months without any remedy. Also heard of a small dog disappearing. I placed a call today. My dog got through, I had to enter the woods and now my body is covered in poison oak. I would suggest NOT walking the trail and sick to the beach only if you go here.
Love this park, beware though, lots of hens in that hen house! They think its THEIR park.
2 different swim pondsWell same pond but 2 different locationsMet Nice fellow Americans 1 from Virginia
Perfect trail around the spring fed pond.
Gorgeous place for a hike and exploring adventure. If youre socially awkward youll enjoy but for some reason theres never many dogs and people arent all that sociable. I wouldnt mind so much about the people but I go there for my dog to socialize. If youre just there to give the dog a workout, its an amazing place but we have been there at all times of day and evenings. Weve been there on holidays, weekends, weekdays and its always just three or four dogs maximum.I much rather go to Lindenhursts even when is not as pretty because its always plenty of dogs and the people are extremely nice. Also, for some odd reason theres a lot of more dog poop that isnt picked up at Independence Grove. You would think that being in Libertyville, people would behave better.
Puppy loved it! Great nature walk and mini lake instead of typical flat dog park.
Always enjoy bringing my pups here. Theres a little lake and stuff if your dog likes the water
Great place to take your dog gives them the freedom the dont get in Illinois
My dog & I love the water & the hiking trail around the lake! The people & their owners are very friendly & welcoming!!!
Very nice place. I loved walking around the lake. Everyone there was very nice. Wish this park was bigger
The dog loves it here lots of space to tire out
Great place to exercise dogs. Its a shame that more people dont pick up after their dogs like theyre supposed to.
Is a really good place to walk your dog be free run around pretty good Park Love it
Love this and vety pleased
Great dog park I love the little lake! My rottie loves to go swiming! People and pets are all friendly and its a great environment!!
Great walking path, a few places to let the dogs into the water. Human toilets, and drinking water. You do need a daily pass or a yearly pass
A big lake in the middle of the park guarantees that you will have a wet dog.
Cant go wrong for a dog park!
Great place for dogs to run within a fenced park. The lake makes for great sunset views.
Super busy today due to the wonderful weather. Dogs everywhere and having fun, getting exercise, fresh air & sunshine.
Awesome! Well maintained trails, beaches, etc. Many visitors dont respect the park and do not clean up after their dogs.
Lake County does not stop to please our pets !!!! Beautiful place for my dog, thank you
Easy access to water on hot days; fenced in; approx .7 miles around the pond.
Funn for all !!! Kids and dogs can enjoy a clean and well taken care of trail, with beautiful views
Wonderful loop around a pond. Lots of places for pups to run around and swim
The best dog park & lake in Lake County!!!!As long as you dog is socialized it is a great dog park!!!!
Awesome place for dogs to run and swim. We are here daily.
Its always a greedy experience. The only thing its missing is a little rinse station like the other park has.
Great place to take the dogs.
The best dog park Ive been too and Ive been up to a lot all over the country
Great place and people!
Nice, well maintained.
Best dog park Ive ever been to!!!!

Allowing unleashed dogs was terrifying for my kids, but we made it out alive.
Amazing trails and lots of room for the dogs to play.
Perfect place to your pup
