This park is nice and big. It’s very unique and clean. I’d love to go canoeing here. I come back occasionally. It’s a nice treat!

Cute little lake in Lenexa with walking trail that goes around the lake and into a marsh area. Beautiful overlook at the dam with unique construction. Lots of educational signs if you are into that kind of thing. Saw many people in kayaks on the lake. Very spacious shelters and clean bathrooms. It was a very pleasant trip and if you go, definitely make your way to the dam- its worth the short walk from the parking area!

Very confusing when coming in. The center of the place is where you have to hike to... its not a far walk but its a walk, at least half a mile round trip.. The place is really nice. Im new to the place and new to the area...it would be much better in the summer time bc of the flowers blooming. Good place to come to take pictures for special occasions.

A must visit if you are in overland park/lenexa. Do give a walk go the dam after parking your car. Wonderful ambience. Magnificent view.

This is a nice little park with good amenities. A beautiful walking trail through wooded areas, and great architectural features on the spillway. The lake allows fishing and non-motorized boating (canoes and kayaks). The walkway has wooden paths that extend into the cove for wild Life viewing. Its a great little park!

Beautiful park. I had my wedding here in April and the photos were gorgeous. The shelter we rented for our reception had a fire pit and plenty of tables and space for guests. We spent the evening celebrating by making smores! It was lovely and accommodated all 40 of my guests with space for a cake table, ice cream, plenty of decor and a scenic view.

Absolutely beautiful. 5 minutes away from my car and it felt like I was a million miles from everywhere. The spillway is absolutely beautiful. A little bit like finding a rare Jewel.

Great walking path. Some parts are paved with stops along the way with the second half winding through the trees with a slight change in elevation. This is my go to during lunch.

What a peaceful clean and beautiful place to spend the morning. Everyone on the trail kept thier distance and was very friendly.

Absolutely enjoyed this park. We decided to go on the trail for a walk. It took an hour to get to the other side from the dam wall but it was fun! Me and kids kept thinking we were lost but we werent! Its a great place to just unwind and smell clean air...the bathrooms were not clean, so do your business before getting there

I wish they advertised it more. I doubt how many locals in OP area know about this Park. It has got nice falling fountain and sculpture inside. The trails are good for cycling. You can rent an electric cycle outside. There are two trails to the left and right of the main entrance. We did the left one. If you go in loop, it will be about 5 miles. Make sure you take enough water with you on sunny days specially.

Fishing is good, but its difficult to find a spot to fish from the shore. Nearly the entire side of the lake which is accessible from the trail is covered with Lilly pads and cat tails etc. But, overall clean and quiet. The back side of the trail near the spillway and dam are cool.

Small park with a nice little lake perfect for kayaking. There is a small shelter with some seating space and a playground. The cycling/walking trail is nice too.

One of our favorite JoCo parks. Love the walkways through the swampier part of the lake. Great opportunity to see birds, frogs, flowers, insects, etc. up close & personal.

My absolute favorite park in Johnson County, KS. Paved trails, natural trails, gorgeous prairie and marsh grounds, great animal sightings and easy enough for kids.

Beautiful Park, well maintained walkways. Has it all, lots of trees & wildflowers. Easy, wide concrete walking. paths. Benchs to rest on. The dam is quite unique and interesting. Has big lake to enjoy & other side of lake has forest dirt trail which goes through the trees to enjoy nice outback type hiking.Take your dog and kids. One of my favorite parks.

My wife and I love coming here to walk around. They have some fairly long trails which makes it worthwhile for us. You can tell they take great care of this park.

Beautiful park for walking around the lake, but way too much grass in the lake for fishing from the bank IMO. Even running a weedless rig youre still pulling up grass in a lot of areas.

What a cool park! Just big enough to get away from everything, but small enough to get around it well. We saw this muskrat swimming in the lake. Very pretty Park, and enjoyable atmosphere.

Great walking/biking trail, about 2.8 miles. About half is paved, the other half is smooth gravel. Nice playground and shelter.

This is a great park. The lake is beautiful and well kept and the trails are nice.

This is a great park to enjoy beautiful spring days. Lots of redbuds in bloom around the area. The trails are well maintained and its great that there are public restrooms too. It can get busy mid-morning, but its never terribly busy.

Nice casual trail loop around the lake. Half paved, half dirt. About an hour walk but lots of cool things to see.

A very well maintained park, with an awesome, overly cool looking Dam, with nice paths to walk on. Only complaint would be the bathrooms being locked, but this is common in parks.

Beautiful park to visit on a gloomy day. In general, this is one of my favorite parks in all the US. Very quiet and peaceful.

This park is so pretty! My husband and I stumbled upon this by accident one time. It’s very secluded so you may miss it driving by. It’s very peaceful and quiet here. They have a nice playground for kids and long trails for dogs to walk.

Lake has a wooded bike trail on one side and dirt trail for hiking on the other side. Very nice place for walking, hiking, biking and taking the kids..

A favorite hiking destination

Beautiful architecture, great views, easy hikes.

Great place for a walk or run.About a 2 mile loop.

Signage would be good. Especially when trying to find a cross country race. It was a good course and the kids enjoyed it but definitely the hardest to find and least watcher friendly that we ran this season.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! The trail is lovely & takes 30 minutes or less to complete. There’s so much scenery. They have little informational posts about the different kinds of leaves you may find. The most beautiful thing about the park is the spillway. It’s so peaceful to just come out here & listen to the water. I came here on a cloudy day a few days ago. Check it out!

I just love this lake! The trail was great and the scenery was gorgeous with information along the way about the plants and trees as your walking along the trail. I really enjoyed the lake and they have a small waterfall that leads into something they call a Spillwheel,you have to see this its beautiful! My daughter and I picked the perfect time to come because it wasnt hot,there was a breeze. We will return again.
