Interesting theatre for sure, where it is VERY steep so that you will not have any issues with the person in front of you, and a curved screen that gives a very interesting view of the 3D films they run. Primarily designed for kids to come through, which is strange that they do not have a better fitting 3D glasses for small heads of younger kids. This led to issues during the show, and ultimately is why I give it 3 stars. The price that they charge does seem high, so i would recommend trying to go during the week and to a matinee versus evening or even the weekend.
The big problem I have with this theatre is the color. The images seem to have been sapped of most color (especially red). This appears to be a problem with the projectors. The trailer for the volcano film I saw feature rich red lava colors. In this theatre they same shots were a pale yellow. I found this very distracting. Also, I recall seeing a film here about five years ago and wearing 3D glasses with large lenses. This allowed me to see the whole screen at once. On my latest visit the glasses had tiny lenses. The effect was like looking through binoculars. I was sitting quite far back, and it was still a problem.
The theater is great and the museum its attached to is excellent BUT I saw Avengers 2 here and they projected it in full-screen aspect ratio. It wasnt widescreen. That makes no sense.
I love 3D movies! This theater has some great documentaries.
Really kool
Average quality shows, a bit pricey.
Saw Space Next 3D today. Very good documentary. However, the IMAX theater it was shown on was not in good shape. Worse... there was something wrong with the projection system, every few minutes the screen would blink with a bright light. Simply not up to IMAX standards, or really any kind of film standards. Fix the projector please. Standard popcorn and drinks. Staff was friendly.
We saw Beauty and the Beast here and while the screen was awesome, the sound was off by just a little bit. Kind of disappointing.
We have a family pass to Thanksgiving point and really enjoy going to the Museum Of Ancient Life. The screen is deffinately Mammoth and it is aptly named since mammoths are extinct. ;)
I-Max screen has lower quality, seating is not very comfortable. Dont see Megaplex movies here.Pop-corn prices are much cheaper in this building
Nice theater, I like choosing my seats in advance so I dont have to wait in line
Not imax but a great theater that isnt usually crowded.
Such a very cool place.
