This is an absolutely wonderful treasure. A stellar example of the beautiful state parks of Missouri. Simple, secluded, quiet, and basking in natures bounty. A hidden retreat worth your time. Stop by the park store to get a couple bags of fish food and feed the trout in the hatchery. Or take a walk along the river to the spring. You will not be disappointed.

What a beautiful park for somewhere different to go with my family for a fall Sunday afternoon, five years ago. I was happy here, and the bunches of trees were all a diversity of colors--FALL colors. And my second spring semester at OTC, I became friends with a classmate who mentioned to me that she actually LIVES close to this park. So certainly she knows this place really well.

This is great park. There are several hiking trails. If your in to trout fishing, that seems popular there. The area is beautiful, and the family enjoys it. We were a little bummed you couldnt feed the trout at the hatchery the last time we went. Its also not a bad drive from Springfield.

What a beautiful place! Went on my 1st float trip ever with my husband and a group of friends. Had a wonderful time. The grounds were well kept and all staff were very friendly . Have a store on site that has a variety of items and fair prices . Also on site were actual restrooms with showers, thank you, not a fan of outhouses! All in all great experience and will definitely be going again. Thank you

Beautiful place to fish trout. You just need to come to the park store and purchase a permit for the day ($4) and enjoy the premises. You need to place the permit on a visible place (the back of your cap or on your t-shirt). There is plenty of fish and plenty of spots for fishing. You are allowed to keep up to 4 fish, but you can cook them and keep fishing. There are tables for eating and restrooms. Actually, there is a restaurant. Its a family and dog friendly place.

Great trout fishing, with rainbow & brown trout raised here at a fish hatchery and released in the Niangua River in hopes you can catch em. YOU MUST BUY A DAILY TROUT STAMP and possess a valid Missouri fishing license.Daily trout limit is four. No length limit on rainbow, but brown must be 15 inch minimum length to keep. Under 15 inch brown must be released.Several area canoe outfitters for floating the river. Camping sites for RVs, tents and pop-up campers. Call ahead to reserve your spots, and they sell out most of the summer and early fall.Store with great fishing supplies. Swimming pool, showers, hiking trails and picnic areas. The town of Lebanon (14,000) is about 12 miles up 64 Highway. This is a great state park and I highly recommend it.

I really like fishing at Bennett Springs. Ive been fishing here for over 40 years and have many fond memories of Bennett. There is heavy usage of the stream on weekends. The lodgings are minimalist and some of them are shabby. A friend says the cabin we used was a dump. My wife is not a fisherman, doesnt want to rent a cabin, but she will go for the day as I like fishing there. Overnights are reserved for grandchildren trips. I am really unhappy with the reservation policy allowing booking of every weekend for the prime cabins!

Probably one of the most beautiful and well kept places Ive ever been to. All of the staff and Park store personnel were very friendly and helpful. The site we stayed at was amazing because we had a well water faucet right across the street from my truck. So we didnt have to walk far. The park host are on top of their game, so dont park on the grass and keep your dog on leash and safe...However, the most important thing is the fishing. The trout fishing is amazing and you will not be disappointed...Bring your own gear or rent everything at the park store, your call.As an added plus, the Park restaurant food is great, but ask your waiter for his recommendations.Happy camping, glamping and vacationing;>)

We visited here recently because my husband is obsessed with trout fishing and it was very cool! The fish hatchery was our favorite part. Its amazing to see so many trout. It was a pretty developed park. We prefer a more primitive experience and the stream/beach area was pretty crowded with fishermen, so we didnt end up camping or fishing here, but it was still interesting to see the hatchery.

Visited the park from out of state (Louisville,Ky) with my parents. The fish hatchery was probably one of the coolest places I’ve been to, nothing quite like it! The water there was so clear you could see to the bottom of the lake. Walking along the tanks was awesome to see the fish jumping out of the water to catch the bugs flying around. We went during the “off season” (late November) so we didn’t get to watch anyone fish in the actual lake but I heard it’s something see when it is in season. Would definitely go back!

Nice camping area with several loops. Reserve and pull in spots. Tent and RV sites. Will have to fill your water tank and empty sewer at station no on-site hook ups. Plenty of trout fishing areas for you and the family with play grounds and even a pool. Gift shop store with a restaurant/ Dining area. Cabins available and I do believe they have canoes to go floating. Paved roads. Family shower houses and public restrooms. I visited after the state opened the parks back up after the covid not everything is back open within the park. Playgrounds, pool and fish hatchery is closed to public. Not all loops are open and currently it is reserved only access. HAPPY FISHING!!

I wanted to like this place much more than I did.We hiked the natural tunnel trail. It is 7.76 miles. From the maps, it appears there should be a pretty large, steady water source along almost the entire trail. However, there wasnt. Almost the entire trail is enclosed in the trees, which is nice to block the sun in the summer, but it does get hot. As well, I would avoid going bright and early in the morning, unless you want a bunch of spiderwebs to the face. The natural tunnel itself, was super dissapointing. It stunk really bad, and was more of just a large open cave, as the tunnel was much wider than expected. There is really only one steep incline, maybe 35%, and the rest of the trail is very easy to walk. There is a bunch of animal life. We saw everything from huge frogs, turtles, and deer. The rest of the park was already so crowded, even at 8:00 in the morning, with people trout fishing. So the spring area wasnt that enjoyable, even though it was very pretty!Overall, the spring is definitely a must see, at least once. I would never do the trail again.

Bennet Springs is a wonderful vacation spot. The campgrounds are beautiful and spacious. You can see the spring upwelling year round. The people are always nice. Its close to a lot of things, and you never have to go more than 30 minutes to get supplies. There is a lot of places to get good food around the campsite. Highly recommend! The only downside, and reason this is 4 instead of 5 stars, is that the womens handicapped bathroom stall was out of order the whole week we were camping.

While Bennet Spring is getting a lot more visitors than in the past, there are still wonderful socially safe opportunities to enjoy the park.. You can still do things like fish, picnic, take in the sun in the parks or by the water, read about the springs history, walk to the hatcheries, visit the visitor center, stop by Whistle Bridge, or pop into the store. With great trout fishing in the park, canoe rental & put ins and so much to see and learn... the park is clean, with accessible restrooms and a great day, weekend, or longer destination. It has many reserved and non-reserved campsites available as well as in park and other nearby lodging options for families, couples, groups, friends or singles regardless if you are there to fish or not.
