Waste of money and time — Don’t go. Several factors make this theater extremely uncomfortable.1) at the emotional climax of the movie, a power-tripping employee stalked down the aisle (which was dead center) slowly looking at each patron to check for outside water bottles and completely distracted from the best scene. I will need to see the movie again since I missed 3 minutes of dialogue. 2) Movie was so quiet I had to strain to hear. 3) Theater was very hot. 4) when air conditioning kicked on it was extremely loud, over the already quiet movie. 5) Floors were filthy like they hadn’t vacuumed all week. 6) Layout of seats, with a center aisle and handicapped area, mean that late-comers have to climb over those sitting on the aisles (which are the best, most central, seats). It’s an inherently disruptive seating design. For a movie-going experience, this was all very frustrating and uncomfortable.
Outdated and always dirty. Theater smelled like dirty mop water. The manager was extremely rude. Only good thing I can say was that the concession and floor staff employees were nice everything else was bad. Just dont go here hopefully they just tear it down, its a waste of space just being there.
Nice little movie theater. Unfortunately I have to give it only 3 stars because theater room 3 smelled like pee yesterday. It made the movie much less enjoyable. Ill give it 5 stars next time if the problem is fixed.
My first time at this theater today. Arrived a bit later than I planned 2:35 p.m. for the 2:20 show, but I really didnt miss a thing. I saw Downton Abbey. It was really very good. Have to say I was quite pleased with the seating it was very roomy and comfortable. I also appreciated that the volume of the movie was not blaring. I asked about Senior discount but was told all movies were the same price $8.00. Over heard staff talking about being short staffed because someone called out. I guess that could explain why the staff were entertaining their own children in the lobby near the bathrooms. Speaking of the bathroom...it was adequate and clean.
The facility was nice enough for a movie theatre, the snacks and drinks were pretty standard movie grade, but the one huge glaring problem with this place is the active manager. If he wants to do his job and make sure people dont break the rules, thats within your rights, but to actively distract and question every single member of a theatre on whether or not they belonged in a theatre was distracting at best and a complete insult to the consumer basis at worst. It should fall on you to sort these things out before the very thing I paid for becomes compromised. Just cut your losses at that point instead of standing like a menacing overseer in the middle of the aisle, questioning every member of the theatre on their legitimacy in belonging in the theatre. Disgusting.
I saw a man who’s name I believe was Dale publicly humiliate and mistreat a young boy yesterday . I wanted to speak up but the man had such an attitude and rude personality that I just left with my two kids. I swear I’m going to the nugget or Claremont. Just if you’re reading this do not go here.
Sad to see the movie theater so empty on a Saturday night. I fear the theater experience is going by the wayside. Wish we had a top of the line theater to attract more people. Guess this town is not big enough to support it. Sigh. People are friendly here. Theater is in desperate need of updating.
Decent theater. Seating is nice, speakers are nice. The lobby and the bathrooms need to be updated.
Very friendly service. I went during day in middle of the week, not a lot of people to contend with. The place was very clean. Will definitely go back.
The day I went the floors were trashed with popcorn. It was all over the theater. The bathrooms were filthy.
Was told the trailers were “just starting” so I bought ticket. The movie had started. Sat down and the seat was broken. The film could barely be heard over a noisy heat vent. None of the side speakers were working. The staff was rude. The manager tried to lecture me about digital cinema (I have been working as a part time projectionist in a movie theater for the past 5 years!) They tried to tell me the film isn’t Dolby 5.1 (I looked up the technical specs on IMDb; it is). I had missed so much of the film they finally agreed to refund my money- on a gift card - meaning I have to go back to that dirty broken down place with rude employees or take a complete loss. No wonder the place has so many 1 star reviews.
It has been nine years since my last visit to this theater, ample time for me to have had my head examined before gambling on a return trip. Unfortunately, I did return, and the management--certainly different by this time--took advantage of every opportunity to make me regret it. It would seem the name of this theater refers to the abuse of its customers, rather than the current movie.
The movie was great, the sound was good but there is a mark of some kind on the screen and the place was filthy!
Cute and small theatre. affordable and comfy. convenient location.
Not the best place. Seriously under staffed. They try extremely hard to give the best customer service to their patrons. Fairly clean. The theaters are comfortable with nice seating. It is fairly clean, as are the bathrooms.
I’m currently sitting in theater number 6 watching Angel Has Fallen while on my FIRST date with my husband since our baby was born 18 months ago. Theater usher is walking up and down the isles looking at what we are eating and drinking. We brought a can of Pepsi from the dollar general next door (because movie theater prices!) and the usher loudly and not at all discreetly told me he thought it was alcohol and told me to dispose of it immediately. Everyone else in the theater was looking at us. SO embarrassing! The theater we usually go to in Newington doesn’t do such bizarre things to it’s customers! Now I’m sitting here unable to enjoy the movie because everyone probably assumes we’re transient alcoholics or something! I’m never ever coming here again and I’m spreading the word. They made me feel like absolute trash. THANKS for the great evening!
One staff is really rude. Ruined my whole experience. I will never went there if I had choice.
The seats are comfortable enough. The staff is friendly. The bathrooms are usually clean.
This theater as with most things in the uppey valley, only has to exist to succeed. Those with pets can save money on lint rollers by rolling around on the floor. Fun to make a game on how quickly they can find food and drinks from the outside.
Excellent service, every time. Recent upgrades to the theaters, plus a much greater attention to cleanliness, ensures that my family and I will be going here much more often than in the past. Keep up the good work!
Staff was rude, bathrooms were disgusting, popcorn was terrible, and the theater felt like a sauna. 46 dollars for my family of 4 and they charge the same for a 3 year old as a 12 year old. If anyone wonders why people dont go to the movies anymore this is a prime example.
If I invited guest to my home and it looked like this and the bathrooms were like this they would never come back
The manager was very rude and unprofessional and when asked a question he didnt answer, he just ignored what was asked. This manager needs a crash course in customer service
Private viewing - only one there! How cool is that?
Great place for watching a good movie
The prices to see a movie a great. The only reason its still in business. But, dont be a person with medical issues. We carry a small backpack with insulin kit, notebook and carbs book and was told we cant take it in. Immediately upon entering we went to purchase our tickets the girl at counter was pleasant but the middle age man (name tag Dale), most likely general manager was rude. Told me the bag couldnt be brought in, I proceeded to tell him its his insulin kit and it must stay with him. Instead of asking to look inside he proceeded to state that he knew the size of insulin kit and didnt need the whole bag. We have never been told that we cant take the bag in, they would just take a look inside. I would have been more than happy to have them look inside. The man (Dale) at ticket desk was very rude and needs to learn customer service skills.
The manger, Dale, that’s what his name tag says, needs to learn customer service skills and be way more patient with a mother and her three children at the concession stand or just patient with children in general. One of the children who I estimate to be around seven was having difficulty about choosing what he wanted. Yes the mother probably could of helped but it was clear she wanted her son to make the decisions himself. They had only been at concession for about five minutes when Dale said, and I quote, “If he (her son) can’t decide I need you to step aside. I have other people in line.” Really? And that line wasn’t very long mind you. That is not how you talk to your customers. If he was so worried something like, “Hi, ma’am. Would you like some more time in helping him? As soon as you’re ready just let me know and I’ll set him right up with his treats.” Or, “Hi there sir! What’s your favorite candy? Would you like a drink with some popcorn? It’s really tasty.” Hundreds of ways this dork could have spoke kindly to the women and her child trying to choose. What a dick.
A little quiet. A little stinky. Staff was spectacular.
Its a nice cinema..with lots of leg room and comfy chairs
Convenient location, price is comparable to other movie theaters, friendly staff, clean lobby. Six theaters so they have a nice selection to choose from. You can purchase your ticket online instead of having to wait in a line. Since the remodel, the seats are much better than they used to be. The theaters are small and they arent IMAX which is a downside. Concession prices are high but most theaters have high concession costs.
I have gone to this movie theater many times over the years. Looks better since the remodel, but the theaters themselves are frequently dingy and could use a good clean. The only reason I have returned so many times is because the nicer theater (a town or two over in Hanover) tends to play some more obscure cinema, and so for some of the mainstream movies, this is the only option within the area.
I visited on a monday morning. I needed something to do while i waited for my glasses to be made so i tokk in a movie. There was a movie i wanted to see and they offer the first showing everyday for $5! What an awesome deal! The theater was very clean and the service was wonderful.
In my opinion they need more staff and to keep a cleaner facility. Each time I have been there, there has been popcorn all over the floors in the front lobby and theaters. At primetime on the opening date for new movies, the lines are really long. Online ticket purchasing available. They could really use an update.
Decent place, but needs a make over bad. Just tear it down and build new.
Small but enjoyable theater with kind staff
Apparently they just had renovations but their upgrade needs an upgrade. The only reason we go here is because it is one of only two cinemas in the upper valley. It is small and some screens have rips or spots on them. Staff is pretty friendly, even despite the fact that it seems to be constantly understaffed with only one worker doing tickets and one at concession with a line going out the door. We will eventually go back because there is nowhere else to go(besides the Nugget, which has its issues as well). But if we had better options in the upper valley I know people would visit the cinema more often.
They have made some improvements to the facility. I do think the audio is a little loud during most movies. Cleanliness could be improved upon. Some staff are great others are not and there seems to be a significant amount of turnover. However, most new big movies play here, screen size and seats are good.
This place is filthy, the only reason I go here is it’s basically the only one in this area. Lucky for them or they’d have their doors closed in no time. To me it’s worth it to drive to Claremont with a nice clean theater, if I have the time then to go to this mud whole. I’ve gone here before and they didn’t even have heat. Really think they should look into new management. Because the guy in charge now is obviously out of touch. Has to be to let this place run like it does. We really need a good theater in the area. Unfortunately this is far from it.
Could hear the cars from inside the theatre, lights never went off fully, and the sound was actually too low at times. Going to have to rewatch endgame now.
Its a movie theater alright. Screens arent very big.
I go here all the time. Everyone is super personable, they almost always have the movies I want to see, and theres almost never any technical difficulties. Its pretty much a guarantee that youll have a good movie-going experience here. I dont think Ive ever had a bad experience here, and thats rare for theaters to achieve. Check this place out!
The theaters are small and outdated but I still enjoy seeing a movie here from time to time. They could stand to renovate and get more comfortable seating but as it is a small town its not a bad experience.
I went to watch a 4:35 showing of Captain Marvel and place reaked like sewer in the theater and was in general not clean. Thankfully a bunch of customers had popcorn which mostly masked the smell. What a disappointment! Also their patrons relations website doesnt work so you cant even complain about it.
Always friendly and good customer service
Not clean. Every show Ive seen here has been interrupted by rude and noisy patrons. It is comparatively more enjoyable, more comfortable, and less expensive to watch a movie at home.
The line started outside the door. There was a lot of confusion about whether internet ticket holders should get in line. The people that knew they could just walk up to the counter had to find their way through the crowd. There should be 2 paths and signs directing people. In order to save time my son went to the concession line while I joined the ticket line. After I got our tickets we ended up waiting almost 15 min for my son. They overfill the popcorn, so that most of whats above the rim falls to the ground and gets trampled on. Why this waste, fill it to just below the line! There was a young kid that pretended to be sweeping it up while he was talking to the other kid that checks the tickets. If the popcorn wasnt overfilled the kid could help with concessions. The menu should be simplified, it would make the line move faster. People not familiar with it are confused about the sizes and restrictions of the special offers. They have to ask the help for details or they order and find out they cant get this with that special. I cant believe the management/owner cant figure out these simple things to create a more orderly process and make things move more smoothly. Does anyone that works there have any common sense? If I was running this cinema Id be upset and ashamed, this cinema has the worst online review rating of all the cinemas in this area
Clean enough.
I am an avid movie goer and this place is not the best. Dirty floors, confusing layout, gross bathrooms. Theaters themselves aren’t in great shape, food on floors, screen has holes in it. But not the worst experience I’ve had in a movie. Just keep those expectations in mind and you can still enjoy a movie.
Good selection of movies, great prices on concessions, and comfy seats!
Love this movie theatre - go with my daughter and grandchildren frequently. Always making improvements and snacks are delicious.
I only go here if I really want to see a movie when it comes out and that’s only if the Nugget isn’t playing the same movie. The manager here is so rude and full of himself. He also parks in the handicap spot right by the door. One time my mom was dropping my siblings and I off by the door, he yelled at her for blocking him in and she said well are you even supposed to be parking there? He told her to shut up and that she can’t tell him where to park. What a great guy right? (Note the sarcasm)Can’t believe he still hasn’t been fired yet.The remodel that they did is a joke too.
A lot of people there today and they moved them though fairly well.
This is a great theater. The manager catches a bit of flack in these reviews, but only because he sticks by the rules. Because of him and the staff i never have to deal with people on their phones or being loud throughout the movies. This location does a great job making sure the experience is as it should be.
They just did big renovations! Its clean and cozy and the chairs are super comfy! They recline and the armrests are even padded! Ive been going there for years and its a lovely theatre and definitely underrated. It also has a wide film selection and is great for the whole family!
Nice theater. Small but not too busy.
This theater is very poorly managed. The owner claims he has trouble finding help, and I believe it is because he is a poor manager. We missed the start of our movie because the line was so long. He had the same line for popcorn and tickets, even though there were three people working.
Better since the remodel, but quickly slipping in quality. Seems to be understaffed. Many of the other criticisms are correct: the place seems perpetually in need of cleaning; there does not seem to be enough people working; the traffic flow to tickets / concessions is poorly laid out. Additionally, the last film I saw there the lights werent brought all the way down, and to make matters worse the rear door was either open or there was some kind of light there, as a result the darker scenes of the movie were difficult to make out from all the light spilling on the screen. There arent many theaters in the area, and this one isnt terrible, but probably has slipped do to not needing to be competitive. A detail oriented manager could fix everything in a day.
Im hard of hearing but the sound was at a good level for me to hear the movie. The service I received was fast and friendly. I sat in the handicap seat and had to watch my feet because people were still cutting too close to them. I dont go that often to the movies but I enjoyed going here.
Great theater and very friendly customer service
The reason I am giving this one star is because the place is always very dirty, and the manager is very rude. But the reason I am giving this one star is because the theatre is very nice since the recent remodel, and the OTHER staff memebers are very nice and welcoming.
This theatre used to be pretty trashy, but its really not bad now. Folks whove just moved to the area from the big city wont like it, but for us locals? Its fine. Good shows, young enthusiastic help, usually clean theatres and bathrooms. The theatres and screens arent huge but they fit and they do what they should.
Popcorn omg!!! Comfortabl seating love thus place
Fun people and nice small town theater
Very impressed with the new changes and renovations. I avoided this place for a long time because of how unclean it was. I just saw a movie the other night after hearing that it was recently renovated and I will definitely be going there more often now. The staff was great.
Don’t use the restrooms at this theater! Apparently the staff knew about a problem with a stall door not working essentially locking people in. They chose not to fix it .
The staff was rude and unprofessional. And the place was very dirty. The movie was good and the seats comfortable. But after listening and dealing with the staff unfortunately I rather give my business to another theater .
BATHROOMS:-Walls coming apart-One knob on sink handle goneTHEATER:- Non-comfy seating-Okay sound projectionCONCESSIONS:- Way too OVERPRICEDThe only reason it’s two stars is because it’s the only theater in Lebanon
After waiting in a long line for a 12:30 matinee with my 3 kids, the manager kicked half of the line out of the building into the cold. He was screaming at an elderly patron who had waited patiently for his tickets when I reminded him that he was speaking to his customers. This didnt phase him. He said we didnt have to stay for the movie. I left with my kids, along with many others. We went to the Nugget Theater in Hanover, where they appreciate their clients.
My family decided to go see Mary Poppins, I cannot even begin to tell you how filthy the theater is! Bathrooms overflowing with garbage, the theater itself filthy, and smelly. Not sure what it was, although I know it was not popcorn. Such a bummer... please clean up your act!
Not too bad and cant complain. Prices are reasonable for family movie night.
Ive been going to this cinema for quite a few years, and some of the older reviews saying that it is gross are valid, but the place has redone its interiors. New seats, etc. Its got a good selection of new movies, its pretty much everything youd expect from an average movie theater.
Not long ago, I would not go here unless there was a movie I just had to see and couldnt find it elsewhere. That has changed! They have made some fantastic improvements! Much cleaner, and much, much more comfortable seating! Im so pleased with the improvements! As with any theater, the concessions are over priced, but thats to be expected. Friendly staff.
The staff doesn’t really care about the customers and made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. I bought the largest popcorn and soda to get refills and I went out to find no one in sight to get a refill. I tried again and still there was no one there. Again as we left no one was in sight. Very disappointed at the horrible customer care. You’d think they’d tune up given the reviews they get.
The place needs to be kept cleaner. Get rid of the carpets, they have stains they smell, keep moisture under it creates mold. They are not sanitary.
The staff are not very friendly. The prices are grossly inflated. The place could use a good cleaning. The carpet was horribly stained and dirty and looked like it was 25+ years old. The seats need to be redone. The whole place smelled musty. The popcorn tasted burnt. The soda tasted watered down.
I right at this moment am not very happy with one of the staff members upon just learning from a friend I went to the movies with on Thursday the 18 of May there were 6 of us and having a good time and the ticket girl. when I went to use the rest room was complaining to MY friends and telling them I was being very rude not letting her talk ? Im not sure when the evening became about her ?anyway I go to the theater often I really like Dale and the the older lady behind the ticket counter I thought the young girl was a smart ass to me to be funny but apparently she has an issue with me .I will confront this girl the next time I am in there to see a movie If I even return felt comfortable going there and now not so much any way probably makes no sence to others but i have vented. Feeling kinda pissed off right now.
Cute theater, but so much potential for an upgrade as far as it goes for being clean. The theater was dirty, messy, dusty, and needed major windexing and vacuuming ( this was seen on multiple occasions, not just one). I was almost hesitant to buy food and drinks there, simple because, I wasn’t sure if the machines/equipment was even cleaned!!! When observing the staffs atire, very sloppy. This is a place for entertainment, joy, fun and overall to have a great experience... so when seeing things as the conditions in which they were in, brings up the question of, lack of staff? Underpaid workers? Long working hours? Or simply, not caring about the work place? Customers and so forth... like I said the potential is there... it’s all about being intuitive and involved in the work place and letting that involvment reflect throughout the work environment, keeping happy customers to keep the doors open!!!
The instant we walked in, we were subject to the General Manager yelling at his staff across the lobby. A presumably new employee started to take our drink order but wasnt sure how to proceed, then the GM told him to get out of the way if you dont know what to do! After the movie finished, the GM (who was waiting in the back of the theater watching the last 15 minutes of the film) walked down the aisle yelling Theres no final credits scene! Dont wait around! as a way to get us out of the theater. We left the theater appalled at his lack of professionalism to his employees and patrons.
We go to this theater only if they have a movie we are really eager to see. The place is dirty, the line to get in is run inefficiently, there are always staff standing around doing nothing while other staff are frantically trying to serve people, and the management is unfriendly. On the plus side, the seats are comfortable.
Could use some more help
Parking. Friendly staff. Great prices. Real and scrapbookable tickets.Downside: in need of repairs.I love this theater but, yes they need a remodel. Its a really bummer that this theater has so many bad reviews, yes, it is run down and old, but is anyone doing anything to get them a remodel or anything. This is one of the last theaters in the area that still gives you real tickets (the other being the nugget which, being in Hanover, has NO PARKING) and not just cheap receipt paper.I would love for regal cinemas to come up and takeover (although their process are outrageous!). The area does deserve something better, and i imagine the people working here wouldnt mind an upgrade either.
The new changes are awesome! Management has done an excellent job! Im also impressed with their staff, who have been very accommodating with me and my small children.
Show starts at 1145 and we are at 1130. And the place is locked up with no communication from staff inside. Its snowing and they dont care. Worst theater Ive ever been to and I havent even been inside yet. They need new management or new ownership. Or they should just close.
Dale the manager took candy that my friend and I bought and didn’t give it back until the end of the movie. When we asked for it back he yelled at us and said we “lied to him about buying candy” and that next time we came to the theater and tried to get into a movie with candy he would take it and wouldn’t give it back.
Not a great theater, but its also not the worst Ive been in. Needs upgrades pretty badly.
I come here every time with my family, and my friends, and my boy friend its a place for every one and their is great service and great seats. going this week 11/28/2017 to watch WONDER see you there
Good new seats the sound could be a bit louder more sub
The middle aged manager would not let out friend into an R rated movie. My friend showed him his drivers license proving that he was 17. The manager continued to not let him in. Racial profiling?? This place continues to disappoint me. I recommend this theatre to no one at all.
Cool little Theatre. Good movies and great Mexican food nearby.
Too loud and not the cleanest but always fun with the kiddos.
Not many people at the theater, but Michelle was very friendly and very sweet to talk with. Keep smiling Michelle beautiful smile and very personable!
Yes, It was dirty a few months ago BUT... I have been going there every few weeks and have talked to the owner. They HAVE made great improvements in the past months. New paint, Carpets steam cleaned, New RECLINING seats. It is a small theater but I like the fact I am not overcrowded. Give them a try again, you wont be disappointed. Oh... and as for the concessions, EVERY theater I have been to is expensive but that is how the theater makes money folks. The movie industry charges overwhelming price for movies to the theaters.
What did I just pay $10 for? The screen is VERY small, so if you’re sitting in the back, you can barely see it. The chairs are OK, but there was a broken one next to us. The ticket guy was having a bad day I think: I heard him being very rude to someone in the line. Also, he walked in the theater with a FLASHLIGHT in the middle of the movie to check if anyone brought their own food. Seriously? I’m not going back.
They just upgraded their building & equipment - looks great!
Clean atmosphere, friendly staff. Comfortable theater seating.
A decent movie theater, but it felt understaffed and not as clean as most. Volume levels in the theater were a little low, but otherwise decent place to spend a rainy day.
Seats are more comfortable than Claremont. Great matinée prices daily on showings before 6pm. Quiet little theater. A little messy, but for the cost overall not a bad place
It is my experience that the management staff on site is very friendly and once the new seats were put in it is a quite comfortable place to see a movie. It is convenient and parking is easy and well lit.
