Please see my Google+ post. I have been going to this park for over 19 years, lived next to it for 7 years with the birth of my son - I have always fed birds there. I dislike the attitudes in the other reviews yet I can understand why they wrote them. This is Riley Park - an old swimming pool was filled in to create the new playground about 17 years ago - we have always gone sledding on the hill - note use extreme caution as jumps are built in and become ice with sunny days - my son and I went extreme sledding there - not recommended for young children any more. It is my favorite place in the Cities of North and South Lawrence. There are woods, animals, many paths, and it is a travel route for water birds. The boat ramp gate reopened this year after previous flooding - so motorboats and jet skis show up - if that is your thing. The Community Boating House is highly recommended - my son and I had full membership one year and has a very quiet picnic area near a wonderful pond. As I stated in my Google+ post - this is now an urban park environment - use caution when visiting - the park is closed at sundown - no night activity is allowed. The police frequently canvas the area - yet Lawrence police are overworked and outnumbered apparently. Anyone familiar with visiting New York City parks should be aware of precautions. It is a gorgeous place - one year I did an Easter egg hunt in the woods with my family. There are friendly people - use caution with them too of course :)

This park isnt the cleanest, the state needs to do a better job there, but the view of the Merrimack is beautiful, its a great place to sit, walk, bike or bring your dog. Sure it gets its share of riff-raff, but what park doesnt? The boathouse is great too, my daughter has a membership there and loves it. I recommend the park. Im happy its close to my home in Methuen.

I bring my dog here. Ive had to call the police a few times and they never showed up. One time was because three grown men were scaring young boys so they ran to me for help, another because there were about 40 gang members about to fight. No one bothers me but I keep to myself. Just keep your eyes open and dont bring valuables. Has a tennis court, basketball and soccer/hockey but if ur in there people will come in and kick u out....there is no sharing.

Lawrence Heritage State Park manages the Exhibition Center (Jackson Street, in Lawrence), the Pemberton Park, Riverfront State Park, the Greycourt State Park (37 Pleasant St. Methuen, MA); and one more. The Greycourt State Park is located on the site of the former Tenney Estate and Gatehouse. Offers wooded walking trails and scenic landscape. Open dawn to dusk. Day to day maintenance performed by the Methuen Dept. of Public Works. Heavenly beautiful place.

Play tennis there about 3-to 4 days. Wish they change the lights timer to come on at 5:30 or 6 rather than 7:50
