Very quiet and clean great place for family time. The skittles machine is an added bonus.
Very good at being clean they are cashless right now due to covid
This theater is kind of the only game in town, at least for mainstream movies, but it is still a pleasant experience. It has comfortable reclining seats and assigned seating. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Even when we have had to sit way down in the front, the reclining chairs keep one from craning ones neck too badly. The lobby layout is good too. Even for a Star Wars premiere, they organized the crowd and kept everyone upbeat. It is a decent theater, and Im glad its here.
Regal Southwind Cinema. Ive had many memories over the years in this place. For example, going to see Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame opening night. Also, watching many movies with my family and having a great time. The only thing I would change is the prices on popcorn and other candies/foods.
Pretty quiet for a sunday evening .but nice .
If you get Regal Unlimited for $18 a month you get unlimited movies everyday for free (except the monthly charge obviously). Its a well maintained theater, every auditorium has electric reclining seats. I dont drink, but some of my friends do and they sell alcohol, snacks, and really good popcorn.A really good theater. I go often
Super nice theater! The seats recline and are super comfy. Made it easy to enjoy even the closest of rows
Love the upgrades since the renovation, especially the recliner seating and sound is improved. The wider walking path between the seats is also a big plus! The Restrooms are very accommodating, and overall cleanliness seemed good. The management is very nice and helpful, willing to work out a solution when an issue we encountered was presented. We went to see Frozen 2. The young man running the promotion table gave my Grandson a complimentary grab bag, with a coloring page, some candy, and other goodieswhen I didnt have any cash on me Thanks for being awesome!
A really good theater to watch movies or see streaming performances. I tried their boneless chicken wings for the first time and they far exceeded my expectations. The staff is friendly, the place is clean - despite the efforts of rude movie goers - and the seats are comfortable.
Love the chairs so much! Reclining chairs were so awesome! We seen ready or not. I Still think prices are to high on drinks and popcorn and candy. But besides that loved it
Nice Theater, but last visit, on a Saturday evening they were selling tickets as the concession stands instead of normal ticket counter. Really caused a bottle neck as people were trying to pick seats from cash register screen, while others were waiting for drinks food etc. No a good idea at all
Sound and picture quality where good. The seat next to us in theater 9 row F covered in trash bags and a bucket to catch the roof leak wasnt ideal. Overflowing trashcans galore. The single working toilet in the mens room that was covered in various forms of excrement was the cherry on top. This place has really gone down hill lately. Go to AMC, its worth the commute.
I love the adjustable reclining theater chairs. Get advanced tickets with Fandango is nice on a new release. They serve alcoholic beverages. Parking is handy and very accessible.
The theater was very clean and the people that work there are very sweet. We had a great time at the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot double feature! :)
I was surprised by the seats in theatre 10. I didnt think I was paying for reclining seats. Always a great bonus. Friendly staff. The bathrooms dont have toilet seat covers and one of the seats had dried blood on it.
My friend and I saw Little Women in the front row A of theater #10. These seats are located so close to the screen that our view was very distorted, making it impossible to fully appreciate the show. No one who pays to watch a movie should be seated in the front row of theater #10. In addition, it was uncomfortably cold.
Low class ticketing in concessions, no seat selection on a spontaneous drop by but it’s run by the Chinese so why would anyone expect convenience if you aren’t giving up your information by online ticket purchasing so go ahead, buy your tickets online and they gotcha. Buy your tickets at the popcorn stand and you get the worst possible seats but you haven’t lost your info if you pay cash.
Wow this theater is amazing. Power reclining seats. Ruined my local theater. Spacious comfortable futuristic
This is where i see all my movies. Great seats, good prices (on tickets), nice staff. If you live in Ottawa its well worth the drive compared to the theater in Ottawa.
Tickets are economically priced very comfortable seating for a bigger guy like me im 610 good quality projector and sound i will return there on multiple occasions
Nice recliners, overall clean. Had to buy tickets at the consession counter... Brilliant move by them.
Love this theater! Always clean and never have a problem getting through concessions and still making the movie on time.
I will be following up with a customer service complaint but I wanted to say that today was THE WORST movie theater experience Ive EVER had. We were cut in front of two times just waiting to order our food because we didnt realize that we dont get our tickets at the ticket counter in the front of the building. So confusing!! WTH? Employees on their phones. They completely ignore customers. No customer service whatsoever. If youre going to charge $9 for a 4 year old before noon then service should AT LEAST be on point! Youre on your own wandering around clueless. Employees will poke their heads up long enough to tear off your ticket stubs and point you in the right direction otherwise their heads are down paying no attention. Its extremely expensive and we went to the matinee. The seats I requested and the ones printed on our tickets were incorrect, consequently we were bullied to moving not once but twice by VERY rude people. Cellphone flashlight in the face then they listened to a ballgame with their screen on bright the entire movie since they were so concerned about their seats. It was my daughters 10th birthday. All of us were disappointed and feel our money would have been better spent elsewhere. I hope you reach out for my daughters said because she deserved a much better experience than that!****UPDATE****I received an apology email from regal customer service that was no doubt a template with a couple things changed. I would seriously consider taking more time to resolve customer complaints and be more proactive. I am not just another complaint email. My daughters birthday was literally ruined thanks to our sh!tty experience and there will NOT be a next time as your email stated for you to show youve addressed to problems because I am positive that the management wasnt even notified because I asked! Take care of your customers or they will not take care of you!Sincerely,Unsatisfied Former Customer
Great spacious recliners. Can6reallt explain the comfort I had. Worth watching here than driving to Olathe. Nice staff, pleasant atmosphere, crisp sound and good price on counter. Last movie was great... looking forward for next with my kid.
Seats were comfortable. But the restroom had two out of order stalls, no paper towels and was disgusting.
Dr. Dolittle was great. Popcorn delicious and staff were so very nice and accomodating
It is small, even with 12 theaters, getting seats together is tough. Prices, with senior discount, are affordable and we try to get the matinees when we can, because Monday morning is work and we like movies like Endgame, that are 3 hours long. A week after Endgame came out, on a Sunday afternoon, and we still couldnt get two seats together. Only one ladies, with mobility challenges, its a long walk from theater to lobby, to the facilities. Might see if other theaters in Lawrence are more user-friendly for people with mobility challenges.
Great theater. Wonderful staff. Excellent seats and clean theater
I love this theatre. The only drawback is the long wait in line. But staff is pleasant, and accomodations are fine.
Awesome seats, good prices, and great speakers with a huge screen. Highly recommend.
They’ve done really great upgrades to this movie theatre. I really enjoy seeing shows here, it’s very comfortable and cozy now.
My only real grip is about the womens bathroom. I decided before sitting for three hours to watch Avergers-End Game I better empty my bladder. I had my choice of almost any stall but ended up walking to the farthest end of the bathroom...I had passed 10 stalls all worth NO TOILET PAPER. I wouldve understood had it been late afternoon, but I was there for the first showing of the day. Of course, upon exciting the bathroom I informed staff of this. However part of running or managing a business is to keep the business stalked with things the customer will need. One of the most important tasks when being an opening manager is to always check the bathrooms. Refill products, check for cleanliness, and be sure everything is functioning correctly. What I saw that morning could be explained by laziness, poor management, or an employee that didnt make their shift.
Movie great. Getting tickets not so. If you are not goinng to have the windows to get tickets you need a better solution
Since the renovation the seating is much better and the pricing is reasonable.
This is not my favorite movie theater. Its small and has some odd seating arrangements. I find it cold and expensive (I feel this way about most movie theaters) However, it means I dont have to drive out of town, is usually pretty clean, and is a movie theater. You cant complain too much about going to the movies.
Theaters are clean and seating is the best. I love the recliner seating. Staff was very courteous and helpful.
Comfortable seats with an average movie going atmosphere among both workers and patrons.
Comfortable reclining chairs!! No issues with movie or seating!Concession stops right after last movie starts so cant get food/drinks during show :( should tell us prior.
5 stars bc of the chill staff. Also, the managers refunded a ticket for my friend with sensory overload (we had to leave due to the volume), so that was crazy awesome.
Saw Ford vs. Ferrari here. Great movie! Seats were comfy!
Every experience Ive had is amazing, I do have a question tho. I ordered online an it told me 3 & under is free so I didnt get a ticket for my daughter because normally I dont pay one in person for her but online we pick seats. I was wondering how it works with free children. Help???
The new chairs are amazing! And I know its not the cheapest place to go to but Ive always had a positive experience with this place.
Good place to go see a movie, comfy seats and overall atmosphere in here is good. Lotta food options, even ice cream! Food items are a little pricy but thats expected in a theater. Ticket prices are fair as well, Ill definitely come back when I wanna see a flick on the big screen.
Had a great experience went to the late show to see Dr.Sleep
The lines are almost unbearable now that you get your tickets at the same time as your popcorn. She of us dont want the overpriced concessions but now you have to wait.
I enjoy the movie experience in those nice, reclining seats however I wonder - are those seats ever disinfected or even wiped down between shows?
The staff were very laid back and nice. Everything was clean and seats were sooooo comfortable. Movie was great perfect film overall 5 out of 5.
The theater has went through some upgrade since the last time I was there. Love the seats. Need to do something about the parking lot though oh, its a little too bumpy for my liking.
Gone here for years and enjoy their reclining theater seats!
The reclining seats are comfortable. However never ever ever buy snacks from a movie theater. Never. Unless you wanna be punched in the gut when the snacks and drinks get rang up and it costs dang near $50. There is a walmart right next to the movie theater in walking distance. So I beg of you, please haul your butt to walmart and buy snacks from there.
A great place to relax and enjoy a good movie! The staff is great and it is a safe comfortable, decorative place!
My Son and Nephew absolutly love this place. Just wish with all the money they bring in they would give back more to the community and maybe some rewards to the schools
Reclining seats are nice but overall theatre is dingy.
The service was friendly and prompt; the seats were comfy and the sounds booming. No complaints from me.
Good seats and facilities. Little pricey. But thats the cost for entertainment now a days.
Lines were very long. Had to wait in line to find out tickets had sold out. Being unable to look online in advance or buy tickets in advance makes this a very frustrating experience to drag the whole family through.
Seats are a lot nicer than they used to be. Unlimited pass is a cool deal
One of the best Cinemas in the area. Alochol is served. Reclining seats and choose where you sit when you purchase tickets.
Very comfortable reclining seats to watch the movies, just dont fall asleep!!
We went to see Aquaman. A great film in a comfortable theater. The staff were great and I love the spacious recliner seats!
Small theater, with an old-school feel. Doesnt have the modern amenities, like AMC or B&B, but still nice.
Loved the recliners! That was the best, made the movie even better!
I love this theater so much!!! They have reserved seating so you dont need to worry about getting there early to get a good seat. Seats are nice and have comfortable spacing. Popcorn and drinks are a little pricey but if you join the free mobile app club you get points and they add up and you can score multiple deals. Love this theater and will only be coming here.
I absolutely love coming here. Their reclining chairs are worth the extra drive from Topeka.
I usually go to AMCs, but this place is closer to where I live and I havent ever really been disappointed with the building. Recently its been updated and some of the rooms have reclining chairs and overall look very nice! The lay out of the theaters are a bit odd but thats nitpicking. They do really need more people in concessions when there is a big rush of people.
Very clean theater. Great comfy reclining seats. Popcorn was fresh and buttery. Fresh candy. Good soda. People where all friendly and smiling. Sound was perfect. Not to loud or soft. The pre info slides and videos where sort of boring. But all and all a very good time for my family and me.
Great place to bring your kids and grandkids for a fun day had a blast watching toy story 4
Nice seats and friendly staff
They recently renovated, and the theaters now have reclining leather seats. Price wise, it isnt bad if you just go for a movie. If you add concessions into your bill, the money will add up quick. Buy your tickets online if you can. Depending on the time of day, you may have to buy your tickets at the concession counter, which usually has a line. Its not as clean as some other theaters in nearby towns, but they do a good job for being the only theater in Lawrence.
Having to reserve seats is extremely dissapointing. And leads to upset crying children. Please re think your seating.
Comfortable seats, but be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes to purchase movie tickets from concessions because the ticket booth is almost always conveniently closed.
I dont like overpriced popcorn n soda
Comfortable seats and a very friendly staff.
Good seats, okay popcorn, great atmosphere. Very Im going to movies with my friends on a Friday night in my pjs vibe and I love it!
I wish that, instead of just renovating the seating, theyd torn the whole thing down and rebuilt bigger and better.
The outside of this theater is very unassuming and not very impressive. The bame on the outside is actually Hollywood Theater so we were looking for something else. Like most modern theaters, you select your seats at the window. The food counter is standard but not very inviting. The best thing was the actual theater which is what you are really going for. They have the large recliners with individual cup holders.
Because of the limited seating you have to go early to purchase tickets or go online. If you go online they charge you an additional fee above the ticket purchase price. Real RIP-off!
Good theaters. Comfortable seating. I dont personally like assigned seating...or $8 for a popcorn. LoL
I have had to travel to Kansas from NJ three times now and have seen a movie at this cinema every time. Always a good experience. Never packed, good location, places to grab food before hitting the theater, and the seats recline. If youre in the area and looking to see a movie out of boredom or simply for fun. go to this theater.
Great movie theater. Has window with real person and kiosk machine to purchase your tickets.Has 12 different theaters and always has different kind of type movies on.All 12 theaters have leather arm chairs that you can put up your feet to enjoy the movies. They also have popcorn & soda, and small snacks that you find in every theater. The only thing I might complain is that they only has one location for restrooms. It is located outside of the ticket checking point. You are better do your business before seeing the movie. Otherwise, it will be a long run, if your theater is at the end of the hallway.
I went to go see Ready Player One with a friend. The movie itself was fine, but my soda was flat when I received it. I went up to the counter to request a different drink and at first the employees didnt believe me. They asked to taste my drink, and then decided to ask the other employees to come and taste my soda. They finally got me a new drink when they were all done tasting my soda.
Prices for conccessions are ridiculous so eat before going or save some regal points. But as far as movie watching experience and staff friendliness goes. It is top notch. Theatre and reclining seats are always clean.
I hate being subjected to 25 to 30 minutes of extremely loud previews before the show even starts. Ignore starts times unless you want to be assaulted for a half hour by loud and incessant advertising.
Really enjoy the upgraded seats, much better!
Reclining seats are a huge upgrade from the old theater in this location.
Bathrooms could be paid more attention to. Comfort and quality was great.
I love this place. Its still hands down favorite place to see new films.
The theater itself was clean and comfy, which was great. But the bathroom needed cleaning and there was only soap at 2 of the sinks and only one paper towel holder had towels. The concessions was crazy and VERY slow (and way over priced...as expected). Definitely get there in plenty of time to get snacks.
We travel from Topeka just to come to this theater. The reclining seats are awesome and can be purchased/reserved ahead of the showtime via an app. The amenities are always clean and the concession lines generally move pretty fast. However, the vinyl/pleather upolstry doesnt breathe well or offer lumbar support when upright, the center sound volume is a bit low with little bass from the back rows and the concessions are way over priced. Still a damn sight better than anything in Topeka and definitely worth the drive!
Had gift cards for this theater, when I tried to use they said they dont except them. After doing some searching they do accept them the tickets just have to be purchased in advance. Would of been nice if the employee would of told me that instead of just caring about bringing in money.
Amazing and open!!!
Good movie, good venue, concessions are way overpriced as usual.
Very nice experience. Had a blast and because of online purchasing I didnt wait for anything the entire night! Very nice staff
Great staff and comfy seats!
Good other than my flat soda
Southwinds 12 is an very good movie theater. They went through some updates several years ago and the seating was improved and made more comfortable. Staff are very friendly to their customers. When I have been to a movie there the movie-goers are respectful of others around them. Seating is reserved and I did have one problem the last time I was there. The people who were to sit in the seats my son and I sat in arrived twenty minutes late. We moved over so I could get out easier. When they arrived my son explained why we were sitting in their seats and they said it was okay. They sat in our seats which were the next two in. Then the gentleman became very rude to me and we offered to exchange seating and take our original seats. He got angry and they left and sat somewhere else. Unfortunate situation. There were plenty of seats at The Darkest Hour.
Despite how many times Ive frequented this establishment, Ive never encountered a negative experience!
