Today me and my husband Jeff stopped by this winery for the second time. We look forward to stopping here whenever we’re passing by. The owners are super friendly and we enjoy talking with them while I have a glass of wine. The decor is very beautiful as well. The only problem is that time goes so fast when we come here. Do yourself a favor and stop in for a tasting and a glass of wine. The Geurtziminer is wonderful!
5 star experience!! Amazing wine, beautiful views, and affordable prices for the bottle, we bought one for home!! $5 for wine tasting, I believe we got 6 or 7 samples. We will be back :)
Cute, quiet, friendly place to go to stop and have a glass or two of wine.
A beautiful winery with wonderful owners. We did our engagement photos there. The owners treated us to a wine tasting and were incredibly nice. Try the white wine, its delicious!
This lovely older couple have a dream come true at Ft. Seldon Winery and in reaching it, are putting out some pretty good wines out of a modest selection of grapes, and a relatively small vineyard. We being wine connoisseurs, and having experienced harvests from many states and so many vineyards we were pleasantly surprised. Their wine tastings are very laidback and friendly. We visited on the day they had just earlier finished there first of two harvests for 2019! And although they were tired, they demonstrated and incredible hospitality that calls for more visits! As you well know if you’re a wine lover, wine is very subjective and varies from one’s own palate and preference. Due to rather diverse variances in each experience, or try to compare one winery, vineyard, grape or wine to another, I have developed a method in scoring that will give both the occasional novice wine taster or the most sophisticated connoisseur a bearing on each establishment by visited, based on our single, or sometimes multiple visits to each location. My guidelines are: 1) beauty of location and its scenery [ Scored:3.0 ] ; 2) the establishment’s appearance and ambience [ Scored:3.0 ]; 3) the owner/operators’ attention to their customers and hospitality [ Scored:5.0 ]; 4) activities, events and/or meals/munchies/entertainment [ Scored:2.0 ]; 5) wine selection, quality, taste and varieties although limited [ Scored:3.0 ]; and 6) heavily weighted on our taste [ Scored:3.5 ]; as well as 7) value, consistency and price of the product [ Scored:4.0 ]. None of the aforementioned are in any particular order of value. The scale being 1 the worst, 5 Ft. Seldon Winery scores a 3.3! This location is must check out, if not for wine alone, hominess, but also to keep their dream alive – you’ll enjoy the visit, not to mention the wine you walk away with.
Great wines, extremely friendly owners with fascinating tales of New Mexico wines and their heritage.
Excellent wines made from the grapes they grow onsite.
Great tasting wines, knowledgeable, friendly owners. Will definaltly stop by next time we pass through!
Family owned small winery with beautiful vineyard and views. Delicious wine to taste, to buy or give as a gift!
Visiting during the off season, we may have caught the proprietor a little off guard, but he was very friendly, knowledgeable, and has an obvious passion for his craft. Despite the young vines on the property, they have managed to produce some wines with nice ageing potential, and a few ready-to-drink styles. The Gewürtztraminer was one of the best Ive had in New Mexico. Please do check out their Madeira-inspired creation Madre Deira. Nobody does anything like it in the Southwest, and it really is spectacular.
Nice little spot, great host and very knowledgeable.
The Owners are amazing!! Great atmosphere with good wine!
We loved it! Excellent wine!
Good wine
