Good hike up to the falls. I did this hike late in July, so the Falls was down to a running faucet - making the destination a bit of a disappointment. Will come back in February or March, and Im sure that it will be spectacular. If you include the San Juan Trail loop, the total distance out-and-back is 9.2 miles with 1600ft of elevation gain. This is an intermediate+ level hike, that is very exposed and hot, so prepare accordingly.
Great hike 11 miles out and back
Great easy local 10 mile hike, off Ortega Highway, trailhead near Candy Store.
Falls are running strong. Flies were swarming there, so much that we could not stay to enjoy the spot. They were large and biting! Yikes!I’ve been out backpacking for days and on various trails throughout Orange and San Diego counties and I have never experienced this before.
Nice hike. Peaceful and serene
Its a great place place to mountain bike will be a climb back to the top but a must-see
Great way to de-stress after good rain through so-cal. This is a 6.4 mile hike from the San Juan Loop trail head. Takes about 2-2.5hr to hike there depending on your stops or abilities.
Great hike to the falls (or rock formations when its all dried up). Wear long pants to avoid poison oak and be prepared for flies.
Great hike, with the rain the first river crossing is mildly challenging, and requires a walk across a log but otherwise fairly easy, and well worth the effort, great falls at the end, saw some mosquito larva but no mosquitos, may be an issue soon though.
Waterfall is flowing so strong. Great 9.5 mile hike
Good hike, falls normally dry but a nice trip all the same! Bring lots of water in the heat!
Beautiful hiking trail.
A bit more overgrown than other visits, but the mountain biking is real mountain biking. Remote feel, gives sensation of being in the middle of nowhere.
