The accommodations are outstanding as are all of the many restaurants. Got lots of play in the casino. The entire establishment was serious about COVID-19 compliance through social distancing, wearing of masks, temperature testing and physical observation requirements. I felt safe there and had a great time.
Landrys all day. The most underrated restaurant. The food is always fresh. The staff is exceptional. And the bartenders always ensure excellent service. Jaime, Brett, and Alyssa are phenomenal. 10/10.
Good place to relax, eat, gamble, safe environment. Social distances lots of hand sanitizers all over. Enjoy your time there.
I have been coming to GNLC since y’all first opened always a good time and wonderful atmosphere but today was a horrible experience never before have I been treated so horrible by the workers there I sat there waiting for almost 4 hrs for a bottle water I asked the bar if they could have a waitress sent over because I understand the bar cannot serve anything because at this time due of the mandate I had the bartender repeat herself 3 times to me about the mandate the policy I didn’t understand why? I was not asking her to give me a bottle water I was asking if she could send a waitress to where I was I had been there for almost 4 hrs waitresses walking by me I raised my voice so they could hear me saying excuse me and they kepted walking all I was asking for is a bottle water I spend too much money there I finally decided to get up and leave don’t know if I will come back
I took my son and granddaughter for a night away and stayed in a corner suite. We entered the room and were blown away. The little kitchen/dining area was very modern with a living room, huge tv, and bar area. On each side of the tv you could walk into the bedroom, which also had a huge tv and a view from both corners. Opening the glass doors on each side, you could step out onto a balcony. But the most amazing to us was the bathroom. Entering, you see an amazing bathtub and double vanity. To the left is a shower which was large enough to hold 4 people. Then there was the restroom area and a closet area.Downstairs, we were able to order food to-go from several places to bring upstairs and enjoy. The shopping downstairs was very costly but it was fun looking at the items. The next day we enjoyed the amazing pool area, with places to sit, lounge, relax, or swim from shallow to deep. The photos say it all.Amazing!
Overall, I had a great experience with Golden Nugget and spending time with friends. Service was great despite waiting for about an hour to get to our room due to a dysfunctional lock on one of the days. The hotel and casino gave Vegas vibes in its upbeat flashy atmosphere against its neighbors more relaxed old-timey feel. Would recommend!
Apparently they have all the business they need. Exceptionally rude reservations and reception. Good luck once Covid is over.
We stayed 3 nights and had a pretty good time, some of the staff at the hotel were rude, the restaurants and gift shops were WAY priced over priced, but the people who worked the casino were friendly and helpful. All in all it was a good trip, but next time Id stay next door at the Lambarge, the games in their casino are way more modern the staff is super nice and after price checking they were a lot more reasonably priced.
Went here yesterday November 17 at around 4pm .. flew in from Los Angeles about a month ago to help out with the hurricane catastrophie.. so me and 7buddies of mine (All marine veterans) decided to hit the famous golden nugget ... just to come to find out they wouldn’t let us in because one of our guys had a BENT I.d keep in mind we were there the day before .. with no problem. The manager on sight was very rude.. and said “well y’all can leave “ after we told him we were there the night before.. with the same ID.. he said “well I wasn’t here “... so we headed to delta downs where the id was no problem
Beautiful rooms. Very respectful employees & a fun experience. This place is full of life and a good time.
Ate at Landrys Seafood. The food was great the drinks were even better. And the service was top notch. I even expected to pay twice what I actually paid. Just all around great experience.
During great devestation in the area, the Golden nugget and its staff was more then helpful. The local law enforcement and first responders were cared for above any normal means. The community was lead by a few beacons of light and the Golden Nugget was one of them. The security team was positive and caring and with members like Bryan, Susan and even Samuel the place remained in a positive atmosphere and felt safe the entire stay.Chef Michael and his staff with the support of Mr. Charles was able to feed all the workers and men & women who needed food and drinks while they worked. The little things that each member of the Golden Nugget did had a major impact and i have found myself quit delighted that I was a part of it.The Essentials staff and managers were sublime when it came to having the exessories we all needed and the kindness and support offered by Mr. Norvell gave a lasting impression.Positivity was the very characteristic that was offered the entire time. The time that alot of us spent here to aide the community was so much more bearable due to the support offered by the Staff of the Golden Nugget. That being said, I intend on returning on a personal note to enjoy the true experience the Golden Nugget has to offer. Im certain the men & women who shared the same experience feel the same way. Family and Friends were made here during this trying time.Thank you Staff members and Thank you Golden Nugget. To those who gave equal support but were not mentioned, I want to thank you so much for everything you done. As the PEOPLE were in need, YOU were there for the People.Thank you everyone. Stay safe.
Great place. We always have a good time when we come. Great atmosphere
Rooms were very clean and safe. I brought my own lysol still disinfected the room and had loud neighbors but overall it was good
Very COVID-19 equipped. Good job!
Love the facility. Some dealers were a bit rude. Servers stingy on the drinks. You would think they would be a bit more accommodating given the current times and having bars closed. It’s Monday and Hurricane Laura expected landfall on Thursday so they closed the pool area. Instead of just automatically reimbursing the “resort fee” we had to complain in order to get it taken off. It was a beautiful day so we paid for a day pass at Laberge since they were not closing. After spending the day next door, we got back to GN only find that they had decided to open the pool. Guess enough people complained but that left a bad impression for us. We love Landry’s restaurants and all food was excellent. We would love to come back, hopefully in a more accommodating time. Hoping for a better experience next time.
Very pleasant personnel. Always a beautiful place to go and have a wonderful time!
The room was beautiful!!! Super nice, registration staff were super friendly and fast. Casino was safe and clean!
The place is so cream and their beautiful women not to mention cheap $7 beer and $15 cigarettes.
I would have really loved a microwave or fridge. Other than that ...wonderful.
Upscale lodging with a first class casino and dining options! Such a beautiful property. Lots to do and see...I didnt want to leave. Very friendly staff...especially Tanner and Ty in the bellman department. They were both great! Also, Trinity from the room service department was super nice. I definitely enjoyed my stay and even gambled a bit! I plan to return very soon. Be sure to visit Landrys while youre here. Our host, Josh, was quick to act and seated our party of 8 effortlessly. Our server was Gavin. He was very attentive and pleasant while attending to our needs.
Just went to the casino, not the hotel. The minimum bids at the tables can be a little lower here than next door. Loved our first dealer, but then they swapped out and the replacement dealer lacked any real personality. Overall, its a nice place and Id definitely go back. I am told the hotel here is nice by friends who have stayed.
My husband and I brought my 85 yrs old mother with us and we all had some luck and a lot of fun. We have been going to the Nugget since they opened. Everyone there has always been so nice and friendly. We are looking forward to our next trip for my birthday.
A great weekend trip from Houston with friends, family or even solo! Pool area can get crowded but it has a nice almost Vegas feel if that’s what you’re going for. Resort is beautiful and relaxing. Amazing view from the pool, great service, delicious food and drinks and friendly staff. The room was clean, modern, and spacious. The casino was laid out well and had great energy. Exactly what I needed for a quick getaway from Houston. I can’t wait to go back!
Beautiful hotel with shopping and restaurants and drinks downstairs as well as the casino. My room had a nice view of the Gulf of Mexico and the surrounding area. Very nice place even though I was there after Hurricane Lauras aftermath.
I stayed at the Golden Nugget on 09/26. The room smelled of smoke but I brushed that off as it’s attached to a casino. In the shower, a good amount of the corner was covered in black hair that wasn’t from someone’s head. I also noticed black hair near the tub/bathroom counter. I was a little surprised by the price of the room not including a fridge or microwave. Very few towels were in the room so I had to track down the cleaning lady to provide those.
Very nice place. The room was perfect. Reminded us of our honeymoon in Jamaica. The casino was nice and clean. Friendly staff. There were way too many people. But we enjoyed our stay. Wish we had more time.
We always have a good time at the Nugget in Lake Charles! We have eaten at every restaurant they have and are never disappointed. The pool is nice and relaxing. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and when you walk in to the hotel it has a clean fresh smell. We try to go every few months. The staff is always nice and reservations are easy. Thank you Golden Nugget Lake Charles for being open, having hand sanitizer and wipes everywhere and for never disappointing us!
I love this place!Funny thing is that everytime I put money into a machine IT triples the amount I actually put in Go figure
We arrived on Sunday and left on Tuesday. Overall I can say I had a really nice time. I LOVED the pool area and I will make sure to bring my bathing suit next time. The casino was nice although Im not a big gambler. My boyfriend really enjoyed that part. The only things I wish were different were not having a microwave or mini fridge in the room. It seemed a little odd that those were missing. Also I really wanted to dine at the Cadillac Mexican restaurant and it was never open when we were ready to eat, or when it was they werent serving their menu. If I wanted to eat at the Claim Jumper Id go there. All in all it was a good trip. Looking forward to staying in the future. Hopefully post Covid 19.
Good slots. Good food. Nice rooms. And they need help after all the weather damage to the local economy.
Came to the pool with my family. We tried to order food with the waitress. She told me she would be back and an hour in a half later still no show. She could have just taken my ordered then since I had a menu in hand. So I decided to go to the bar area to see if I can put an order in. Nope, that was an epic fail too. All the tables were full or taken. Mine as well bring in your own food and drinks with the service here. Probably better off going the the casino next door.Update:So that same waitress finally comes back and finally asked me if the other waitress ever came to me? I don’t understand why there would be another waitress if she is serving people a cross from me and the group of people 6 chairs from us?!? I told her it’s fine and that we shouldn’t have to wait 2-3 hours for services when she went to the people 2-3 times that were sitting across from us. Told my girls we will be going out to get food since service was SUPER horrible!
Not impressed. I called and spoke with someone to ensure our client had a great experience. It was nothing but problems from the moment they tried to check in. The reservation specialist I spoke with assured me that the credit card I had on file would cover the random $50 deposit at check in and our client wouldn’t be asked for their credit card. I asked if I needed to use a credit card authorization form and he said no since I gave him our credit card over the phone. I also tried booking a cabana and no one could help with that except a manager and to get him to return a call never happened. He would only reply to emails. There was a wait list for the cabana so we booked a daybed instead. I could not have our clients drinks and food charged to the room to ensure they were pampered during their stay. Instead they drive an hour there and turned around and went back home. What a waste of time for all parties. If the Golden Nugget trained their employees correctly none of this would have happened. They need to get their policies together for how companies who have clients can take care of them without having to worry and the entire reservation fall apart.
I enjoyed my stay, I was in town spending time with my fiance, hes a foreman with the electrical company. We had a problem with them cleaning the room and getting clean towels. We requested multiple times and still didnt get any service. I know its during a pandemic but we could have gotten better service.
I had my first visit here last week. Casino took you temperature going in but no one enforced people to wear their masks. I man sit next to me and he did not wear a mask and every time someone took it off they would just say I am having a drink. Anyone who smokes cigarettes can just not wear a mask if smoking. No proper social distancing as some rows of machines allowed people to sit directly next to each other.Slots were very disappointing, many were not working correctly, sound did not work, bonus touch screen gave three bonuses to touch but only one of three worked when I hit it. Machine malfunctioned and stole my $20 bill.Filled my tier one on my players card got my free spin for chance to win $50 or points. I one, machine asked for my pin and locked me out. Went to customer service and they did nothing but tell me to grab game service man and then he said go to customer service. Wasted a lot of my time any money. The pool and room were very nice, Casino experience was frustrating and scary.
More ways to win and more ways to lose it but definitely is indeed a great place to chill!
I originally posted a 1 star review because Doug, floor manager on the baccarat area is really rude. He doesn’t know how to treat players/customers. But everyone else made it up. Someone needs to talk to him. Dealers were great, floor manager was great on Sunday. All staff, food and facility were 5/5 other than Doug incident. One bad employee doesn’t represent the establishment.
Best weekend ever! (July 17,18,19) Everything was open, Mask were worn in that casino. Please be aware that room service was a little slow. They were doing everything right to make sure all rooms were clean. So be patient, enjoy, have fun at the pool and win big!!
Overall you can have a great time here. Wouldve been five stars however the staff lately have not been as inviting as they use to be. The servers for the drinks will give an attitude or ignore you completely. It has made the trips here significantly less comfortable. The machines and table games are still fun though.
Hotel is not fully operational because of hurricane laura limited menu and spotty housekeeping visits. Room is great though! New room 9-20-20 not so great unfinished and dirty closet.
Never have cared much for the atmosphere in this place. Rarely win anything. I dont expect to get rich but would like to play for a minute before I spend all my money. The servers are pretty nice and fast but the ombiance is all wrong. Sorry Golden Nugget Lake Charles but the Vegas site has you beat by a long shot.
Was there 4 hours and couldnt even get a coke. I asked every employee I could find and was told they only had 1 waitress for the whole casino and she was the ONLY person who could serve anything. Incredible!
Stopped by the resort during the business trip with a colleague that was very familiar with it. Very nice place. Every bit as nice or better than most the Las Vegas Resort Casinos. Great pool area and choice of dining superb.
This place is really nice, you can tell when you see your bill at the end 9 dollars for 2 16 oz sodas. If you have money to burn its a nice place to do it for sure
Very clean and quiet. A room with a view!
Went Saturday evening to eat at Saltgrass, great as usual. When I left I lost one my diamond earrings, call next day someone turned in. Felt so lucky to get it back and why we were there we decided to play and we both won. We had great time, thanks Golden Nugget.
Rooms were not cleaned properly but over all a nice experience.
Very clean and has many restaurants. I enjoyed gambling there and have been several times
We enjoy every space in this hotel. A beautiful sunset at the beach the casino of course the pool the bar in the pool. Just Amazing! This hotel also have subway, wild wings, a mall and an incredible local pizza place. We enjoyed so much during our stay!
While the hotel and casino as a whole is a great place to visit or vacation especially during Corona times. The onky thing I can legitimately complain about is the lack of information for guest concerning the ins and outs of planning and enjoying your stay. A lot of restaurants had limited hours, one restaurant was closed but was used for seating to the adjacent restraunt. There was no literature inside the rooms for how to order room service. They never mentioned that if you wanted fresh towels that you has to call and request them as they arent allowed to go in and clean rooms during a guest stay. So needless to say I found myself calling the operator a lot just for information that could have been told or disseminated on a leaflet or paper at check-in. Or left in the room on a pillow or something when cleaned between guest.
I wish I could rate half a star. This is the worst hotel Ive ever stayed at. Hardly anyone is wearing a mask and during a pandemic! There is no complementary breakfast which would be fine if there where restaurants open in town but theres also a hurricane so everything in town is closed and only 3 restaurants open in the casino and they charge $16 for 1 hamburger. We arent even getting free water during a boil advisory notice was left on the door that they would have water available in the restaurants for purchase. I will never stay here again and I highly advise others to find a different place to stay!
Our room was trashed by someone, security did little but say it had to be some kids. Didnt offer any type of accommodation as if its typical... Luckily I used the safe. They only threw things around the room and dumped our cooler and snacks. Security cameras couldnt keep up with the kids.
Beautiful Casino! Also tried out a couple of the restaurants in the casino and the food was very good.
First Time Going There and The Service wasLousy! They were Short Staffed Due to Hurricane Laura. And No Waitress to giveYou Even Water to Drink.Emlpoyees wereNot Freindly, No Smiles No Nothing that ICould See.They are still under ReconstructionFrom Laura so there is Debris around theProperty. Hope they can get it together soonAnd Do Better so that People can come andEnjoy themselves.
It was fantastic they were sold friendly and a follow the rules keep everybody saved we had a wonderful time 5 * thank you Golden Nugget
Hosts are great. Beds are great. Games are tight dont pay off very well. Food at mp is horrible. Bubba gump serves good blackberry margarita! Good food at bubba gump. Still had a lot of storm debris and clean up to do.
Wait staff could use some attention to detail, but overall a good place to go gamble
I dont gamble but this hotel is awesome!!! This has to be one of the best hotels in Louisiana. The rooms were luxurious and satisfying. The view and the outdoor sitting area is like being on an island. They have a Gucci store and a Cartier store as well as great restaurant choices. It was a very good experience!
We have been to The Golden Nugget several times but this time was better. We got our room comped and it was amazing. Spacious and luxurious. The pool at the Golden Nugget is heated and open year round. But we go mostly to play in the casino. Its always a blast and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.
I came opening week and havent stopped yet! Watching this place grow and develop is a joy. I love the growth and I love the establishment as a whole. Put them on your must try list! Now I am all about a sunshine and water, this place offers options for both. In room patios, beach front loungers, and my favorite the aquatic area. From the Lazy River to the H2O Pool their is something for everyone. Oh, there is also the hidden water slides in the middle, which are adult friendly so dont be afraid to try, go for it, nows your chance. The Casino is well kept, the attendants are attentive and the slots are eye catching which I really enjoy. The decor is well thought and creative. I love walking around and looking up as the the ceiling is always offering some delight.
Actually one of the worst hotels Ive been to. All of the pillows and towels smelled musty, they never came to clean the rooms, the toilet paper was 1 ply, the resteraunts sucked, and there isnt even a fridge in the room. For 2 grand a week I could rent a 5 bedroom Airbnb and still have enough money for two pounds of caviar.
Superb customer service and superb dinner!! Vic and Anthonys did not disappoint!
Nice partition in place hand sanitizers station all over they take it temperature before entering very clean and they are constantly walking around cleaning
My fiance and I came here for a quick trip. Our stay was amazing! The room was so beautiful and clean. I was nervous about going to a hotel-casino with COVID on the rise. However, we had a wonderful time and Im looking forward to going back.
My son and I always go just to eat and sight see we seen this Smokey and the bandit painting rig and trailer.’my son said dad we got to get a photo. My son enjoy swimming in the heated pool and we enjoyed all the excellent food they offer. This is one of the best kept ground ever even thing is so clean and the staff best service ever. You very seldom hear them tell you know they want to make you enjoy your stay . I always do excellent bed and very clean rooms. This is the only place I stay .
We always have a great time here. Amenities are superb. Some staff can use improvement on their sense of customer service as I have encountered some staff in different areas that lack top notch customer service, however rooms are always clean, great dining options, pool area is on point!! Family friendly.
This is definitely my happy place! Not really enjoying all the new rules, curfew, etc., but I guess I can deal with it temporarily.
Excellent service great positivity all the way around definitely great place to get away to
Upscale casino with great amenities. Friendly staff and beautiful rooms await. Table games are plentiful but pricey. $25 minimum blackjack. Stay in the rush towers if possible, theyre closest to the parking garage and casino. The rush tower corner suites are Amazing. Dont forget to use your players card to get comped rooms and meals.
Good place to eat. If you are looking to win go to Coushatta
Called 4 hrs in advance, to make sure I had a room. Yes we have a few... please hold i say. After a run around not rooms. So either sleep in the garage (we drank) it was to a come in spend tour money, but when. U get here no rooms. Love yall xoxo
This place is awesome. Everytime I leave to go home, Im already thinking about when i can go back. Staff is always helpful and courteous. Ive won a couple times, Ive lost a couple of times, but always go home feeling like a winner because of the beautiful surroundings and the way we were pampered...
Fancy hotel...I sure did enjoy the stay...they have nice restaurants...little pricey but I didnt care I was on vacation..I enjoyed every moment of the day
Great rooms. Wonderful place to waste any fortune you might have hoped to leave to your children!
Pretty great place to loose or gain money. I did not come here to win only to experience the free drinks and atmosphere. It was worth it! I just love that you can kind of coast on 20$ and get what ever drink you want for free at the same time. They have 1cent slots and up. It’s cool. I might be coming back in the near future.
I always have a fun time here. Great Rooms
Worst experience I have ever experienced with a casino. I typically stay at L’Auberge Lake Charles at least once a month. I have a host and I always get my room comp’d. I was bringing my mom and daughter for the weekend to celebrate their birthdays. Since I also had a comp for Golden Nugget for 2 nights (Nov 12 & 13) I would stay there and have my mom and daughter stay at L’Auberge November 12-15 and then come join them for the last night in the hotel room. Everything was going great! On Friday November 13th I went to the desk at Golden Nugget to see if I could get my room extended one more night so my mom and daughter could keep their room at L’Auberge for themselves. The girl at the desk called VIP and they extended it for me at a comp rate! I was very pleased and really thought I would have to pay. On Saturday November 14th at 4:30pm I get a call from Golden Nugget asking if I’m checking out? I told them “no my room was extended. Why are you calling me at 4:30 asking this if checkout would have been at 11:00?” Long story short they said there was nothing in the system saying my room was comp’d and I would either have to check out or pay $269!! I made the mistake of not getting the VIP name and when the girl at the front desk gave me new keys I also made the mistake of not getting a new key sleeve because why would I? Well she would have written the new check out date on it for proof for me. My fault. God forbid I would assume ANYBODY would have done their job correctly!! I saw her put the notes in the computer and extended my room but because they had no record of this they wouldn’t even work with me and split the difference on the rate. They took no responsibility for their employees making a mistake and no concession for the inconvenience of the situation! It was either pay $269 or check out! No apologies, nothing!!! They were so rude about the whole thing and I still have no idea why they would wait 5-1/2 hours after check out?!! I guess it’s all about the money and not customer service. I gamble ALOT and stay in many casino/hotels and have never had anything like this happen! NEVER! Don’t expect customer service here.
Next casino along the I-10 corridor. The hotel was very nice. There was a little beach area that surprised me in my room view the next morning. Vegas is so nice, but if you are coming through Louisiana by car, this is a worthy stop.It was an easy pick for a Landrys supper, the CJs for breakfast.
Be careful don’t go there. Went there last weekend only to find out they cut off their AC to save money. And they also stopped serving alcohol . The casino was dead and they only allow 3 people per table. The casino and the surrounding area looked very bad.
Ashley, which is one of the managers of Cadillac, is the sole reason we will NOT be coming back to the Golden Nugget. We Will be taking our business elsewhere. We were VERY poorly handled when it comes to this bar. We sat and waited for 30 minutes waiting for a table which the hostess told us that we will be the next seated if a table was available, because it was first come first serve. So while we waited, ASHLEY sat someone that was in line AFTER we asked for a seat. We sat and waited for a seat in the Starbucks and was not asked AND ASHLEY told us she was not going to look for us. We loved Cadillac the first night we came. Decided to come the next night. We will NOT be back at Golden Nugget. Well take our business to LAuberge.
Hotel is nice, pool was fun, food, great! Casino however was awful. If youre coming to gamble and like to drink, dont come here. Several hours and many $100 bills later and could not get a single drink. Even when to the bar and they wouldnt serve us cause we had to beplaying . Never coming back
Beautiful view and wonderful stay as usual
We visit GNLC frequently, about once monthly. Last night was our first bad experience. D.Michael Chance, Beverage Manager, was incredibly rude and seriously needs to work on his customer service skills. His behavior was uncalled for, and he needs to be disciplined.
Luxury Hotel Room!Social Distancing in CasinoGreat Experience
Booking clerk Breonna was very helpful and knowledgeable.Great stay !
Came to Golden Nugget with girlfriends to celebrate a birthday and have a fun night of gambling. The hotel is very nice. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Love their bed pillows. Nice seating table with booth style seats. Bathroom was impressive with large vanity, shower stall and large separate suken bathtub. Our upgrade for a room with a balcony was a disappointment because we expected an actual view...but all we say was a roof top... BORING. The casino was pretty hopping. Staff and waiters were really friendly. I thought the machines were hitting and paying out pretty well. We ate at a couple restaurants, CJ Jumpers (their food was just okay) and Saltgrass (their food is always great). We enjoyed ourselves. We will come back.
I enjoy but ..0 winnings
I dont know what air theyre pumping in the bedrooms there, but that was the best sleep I ever had. Just wanted to put it in a zip lock to go... Great stay
Beautiful place. Nice and clean. A fun place to stay and be with the family. A must see hotel️
We had fun. No real way to social distance. They do have dividers and some machines closed, but people everywhere. If you dont make a dinner reservation be prepared to wait for an hour for 5 people. They are keeping tables to 6 people and everyother one is reserved for social distancing so thumbs-up for that!
