Wahikuli Wayside Park

Its a pretty cool little park just so close to the road and I hear the traffic, but for the most part, pretty cool spot!!

Really good snorkeling spot. Saw 3 sea turtles and lots of fish!

Plenty of parking, bathrooms, fine almost black sand, small waves. Beautiful for watching the sunset. The water has large flat rocks which are so easy to walk out into the water.

Savored the many shades of sunset at a park that is usually busy. Patrons on this evening observed excellent social distancing etiquette.

Stopped at this little park area. Wanted to sit and enjoy the scene and smoke. So you cant smoke at this park so that was a bummer. The view was nice but no actually beach area rather volcanic rock.

This is a great spot for sunset pictures. Be ready because sun goes down fast.

I saw so many Sea Turtles just walking along the shore. They are beautiful.

Be careful with the rocks. Waves can get deep but saw lots of turtles enjoyed my day with my family ️

Nice spot to pull off the highway and watch sunset but no beach. Good washroom facilities and picnic tables. NOTE: you can only turn right out of either entrance, so you will need to go about half a mile along the highway to turn around if you want to head back towards Lahaina.

It was great! I met my best friend there today. He surprised me with Supreme tacos ! Yeah it was a good day. I love that park.

Great beach to hang out at. Lots of sea life if you like to snorkel but the viability wasnt great. Plenty of parking but getting back on the highway was difficult. If you like to take walks on the beach it goes on for miles. We will definitely go back.

This is the best beach I have ever been too. You can snorkel all the way down to the next beach and walk back on the bike path.

I came here for the view, and to get great picture at sunset, just stop take a breath and enjoy the beautiful view.

Great location to snorkel. Enter straight out from north beach stairs. Head north. Lots of fish and this whole area is where turtles feed on shore rocks. About 200 yards north you will begin to find turtles resting on the bottom.

Simple little park right on the ocean. They have picnic tables and a restroom further down. Great spot to watch the sunset in the evenings.

Looking for peace and serenity you can find it here. You can see turtles feeding right near shore too.

One of the best views on the daily sunset! Just drive there and park the car directly next to the ocean. Great views!

Lots of turtles to be found in the early afternoon almost everyday, Waikiki Park is a great place to lunch in with picnic tables, charcoal grills(bring your own supplies), and nearby public restrooms. While the park dosent really have beach access, other parks nearby have plenty of sand within walking distance. Parking is usually available.

A beautiful wakk overlooking the sea. Beyond the black rocks we saw several sea turtles. Hard to photograph as you dont know when and where their heads will pop up, but they are easy to spot. Among the rocks live mongooses. Very cute, but they are not native and are a threat to local wildlife.

Very nice beach. Saw some turtles, kids got rolled in the mild surf. The views are beautiful.

This is a favorite of friends and I to hang out, make some food, hammock, ride bikes on the trail, or just simply lounge on the beach. Usually see a turtle or 2 here. I personally have never had much luck with great snorkeling here, visibility is low but you do see people snorkeling here quite a bit.

Beautiful views, great picnic are with BBQ pits available (bring your own coals) keep an eye on the the kids because this beach does see some south swells from time to time, with some stone at tge shore in the middle of the beach. Lots of exploring for kids and adults alike. Perfect weekend beach park, I grew up playing here and I think everyone can find joy here.

Nice and quiet beach with literally no folks around all time.Overseeing kaanapali bay with its resort.The deep blue waters makes the scene looks perfect.

Went to watch for turtles at sunset and while we didn’t see the turtles, the sunset was fantastic. Great pit stop during our trip.

Beautiful beach park

There was ample parking, shade, and covered picnic tables. Sandy beach, and clear water to swim and snorkel in. Easy access from the road too. A traffic light helped with getting out.

Quiet spot for a picnic. The shore is rocky, so if you want to picnic and not swim, pick this place, there are usually tables empty.

Parking can be an issue at later hours

Great spot between Lahaina and Kaanapali. Like others have said, just far enough from the large resorts that it does not feel/get crowded. Lots of large shade trees and a few provide a cool spot on the sand (morning to early afternoon). If you forgot your beach umbrella/sunshade, there are several covered picnic tables just steps from the sand.There are three parking lots connected by a nice sidewalk to get to the sand stretch of the park. The smaller, middle lot (at Leialii Pkwy across from Lahaina Civic Center) fills fastest but is closest to the sand. This lot also has a protected left turn lane if you driving northbound on Piilani Hwy.The larger, northern and southern lots definitely have more parking spaces but you need to walk a further to get to the family friendly beach. If you have kids, this may make a difference depending on how many beach toys are required. Also, left turns into these two parking lots are not allowed if traveling northbound on the highway. If you are driving southbound away from Kaanapali, keep an eye out because it is easy to miss the entrances on your right.

Nice shade, great view and access to family beach.

Great black(ish) sand beach with lots of rock on either side for good snorkeling. Good concentration on sea turtles on the north side when we were there, as well as decent amounts of corral and fish. Good facilities for picnics as well. Only drawback is parking is somewhat limited, but there are 3 or 4 parking areas with sidewalks connecting them.

Swim off the beach or play in the gentle surf.

Park is cool place to hangout in morning and evening. There is plenty parking available and benches to sit on. Good place for jogging or biking for kids.

A great place to swim and snorkel

Covered park benches and trees keep the sun from becoming too hot. Parking is free but on weekends expect a small crowd. Arrive early. There are several spots to swim that are not as rocky as the photo. During the week the park is less crowded. Restrooms available. Shower heads for rinsing off sand. Enjoy!

Beautiful park with grills and veach views only downside is it closes at night

The park surrounded by houses. Its next to a treatment plant. If not behaving, or having fun. The people will call the police. Everyone has a dog, they dont stop barking until you leave. Also the house owners let their dog loose. Infested with ants cant sit in the grass. No benches, no BBQ

The park itself is ok. Its clean enough and the people are decent. The views from the shore are spectacular out to Lanai. But the main reason to come here is the sea turtles who are always hanging out at the edge of the rocks just at the edge of the park. Easy to see for pictures. And they are there seemingly all year round.

Great place to swim with turtles.

A great place to have a bbq or birthday party. There is a sandy beach in the middle but when the surf is big the beach disappears. The snorkel is better on the right side ( one way) once in a while turtle can be seen here. But please dont go and try grabbing them plus there is no life guard here. So please be careful

If youre get here early enough to claim a prime spot youll find yourself wanting to stay all day. There are tables, grills and bathrooms available for public use. shore line is kinda small but the swimming and body surfing are swell

Great parking and amenities, the beach has some large rocks, but is mostly soft sand. Be careful and respectful, and youll be fine!

Didnt get to enjoy due to parking, but great to have a picnic with great ocean view. You can enjoy ther beach on one end and picnic area on the other

This is a locals beach; I saw no other tourists there. Our local host told us its a great place to see turtles. Thats exactly what we saw. Big, beautiful sea turtles right up in the surf. Dont tell other tourists about it. Grab your snorkel and head out.
