Reef Dancer

Could not ask for a more kind skipper. After being part of the first group of tourists who were allowed onto the island after the COVID hiatus - we sat & chatted on a FRI evening for a solid hour about the island, their experiences & life during the pandemic.This is all to say nothing of the vessel - which was in tip-top shape. You wont find a more family friendly environment to tour beautiful waters. The whole experience is worth taking a day to try - whatever your diving experience might be.Many, many thanks!

Great for a simple submarine ride. It was our first time and we loved the experience. The staff themselves were every educated and kind. My 3 year old had a blast and was asking to go again. Great views. Would recommend it for families on a budget but still looking for a fun experience.

What a group of professionals. We were happy to spend the hour with is crew, we felt welcomed like family. We wish the best for them in this difficult time. Mahalo!

While Im not rating the tour itself, I think its important to share my experience with service I received trying to book. Sadly, while speaking to Karen, she referred me to the website to make the reservation for the 6 available spots. The slots that were available while speaking with her were taken by her colleague by the time i managed to get through the website and links, and I was not able to book them online. When I called her back, she stated that theyre always really busy the day after thanks giving and they book quickly- information she failed to indicate while I was on the phone with her. If she knew the spots would be booked, she shouldve told me instead of referring me to book online. How disappointing that I couldnt even take the tour.

Wasnt sure exactly what to expect but was very pleased with booking this excursion & really enjoyed it!!! Heidi & her crew were all awesome & would recommend them!!! I almost forgot... I loved that they took your picture & gave you the picture instead of charging you for it like most other excursions do!

Its a must everyone visiting Muai, for grown ups and young ones, really fascinating experience. Seeing the beauty in the deep. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. You never know what goodies divers would be finding. Besides showing the creatures divers make sure if they find any trash in the sea to bring it to boat. Highly recommended

I loved seeing all the coral and fish. I got seasickness and the tour guide gave me gingeral and he was funny too. The owner was scuba diving around and brought some creatures to see close up. It was a very fun experience!

We made a last minute decision to take the 90 minute tour our last day on Maui and it was the highlight of our trip. The Spinner Dolphins stole the show.

This was really fun for our 2.5 year old. Fun for him to be on a boat and see the under water creatures. Divers are fun and bring sea life up to the windows so you get a great view. Note if you get seasick at all, this is probably not the trip for you!

Lots of fun riding out over the reef looking for local fish. The divers were able to bring an octopus, starfish and sea urchins up to the windows for close-up views. The large windows in the partially submerged boat make for a good viewing of the Fish & Reef. Saw several green turtles swim by, too fast for still photo. Probably a good idea to have a polarizing lens on your camera to filter out some of the blue that overwhelms most cameras

It is truly a unique experience that you should not miss. The waters are crystal clear and you can discern all kinds of tropical fish that exist where your divers bring short sea urchins, octopuses and more. People are professional.ALOHA

We were given this as a gift from the parents after looking into it last time we were here. Didnt know what to expect but had a great time. The 4yr old loved seeing under the water, and the spot they took us to had amazing coral. The staff was friendly and informative. We saw a lot of fish, coral and 1 turtle. Would do it again next time we come to Maui.

A fun boat to see things under the sea without having to get into the water. The divers will bring fun things to the window so you can see them up close and personal. My 1 yr old loved to see under the water.

Great for my kiddos who aren’t comfortable snorkeling yet. We got see a turtle, octopus, urchins, sea star, sea cucumber and lots of different fish. But, I definitely get that we were lucky. Wildlife doesn’t always cooperate. The staff were fantastic and friendly and knowledgeable. The boat, while warm, was comfortable enough with fans running for us Alaskans. And it was super affordable! Thanks Reef Dancers!

Great option for families with kids that wouldnt be able to snorkel. Bring the Dramamine if you have issues, but otherwise, a great and quick hour tour with a couple divers showing kids sealife. We were able to see all of the sea creatures on their provided list and the novelty of a submarine was not lost on us.

Was shocked to see wildlife being picked up and put in danger. These guys are exploiting the reef for their own gain. Definitely not an eco-friendly venture. Id definitely go snorkelling or go to the aquarium way before this.

Underwater adventures, divers who bring animals TO you, sightseeing on the deck, AND snacks? This is well worth the entry fee! We will be back again

I had a wonderful time riding front seat with the Reef Dancer crew! Leenas narration was superb and the divers were on top of their game, bringing awesome sea creatures up to the boat for us to SEA! One of the divers, Reece, even juggled a few Shark Pillows for the adoring crowds surrounding the window. The Admiral, Heidi, even got out of the boat to hunt down two octopuses for us to have a look at. They were exquisite! Another diver, Will, found a baby sea cucumber and used it as a mustache. Included in the tour was a reef chart highlighting all of the fish we could find on our journey. The guide was written in English, Japanese and Hawaiian, making the tour very educational and accessible to many people. Overall I highly recommend it for all ages and abilities, and the semi-submersible is a great way to get over fear of the sea.

Such a great experience, my newly wed husband and I got to enjoy this amazing underwater voyage together and for such a great price. The crew gave out such great energy, we couldnt have been any happier that we decided to go with them. Leena, Maggie and Paul were all wonderful. Leena was our host and was very informative and super friendly and personable. Paul served as our merman and went out diving amongst the reef finding wonderful undersea treasures. Maggie checked us in and was such a delight! I honestly couldnt say anything bad about the entire experience, we look forward to visiting again and would highly recommend Reef Dancer and the entire the Entire Reef Dancer crew to anyone and everyone!!!

It was a pleasant adventurous experience. Whole crew was awesome. If you have kids it’s a must visit. During tour, seen a lot many fishes, corals, octopus and crew special the pineapple fish ;). Overall it’s fun.

Good value. Enjoyable experience and friendly and informative crew...snacks and soda too. Saw sea turtles and some of the colorful fish shown on the Official Reef Dancer Reef Guide that was provided. On deck trip back was a great opportunity for photos of the Island.

Awful experience. You watch the reef be destroyed before your eyes and the wildlife harassed. These guys are why the reefs are disappearing. Do not recommend unless you want to see the demise of our beautiful oceans.

This was a great tour for all ages. Its a good way to see water animals without getting wet.We saw a couple turtles and a bunch of fish. There is a guide who talks you through the different see creatures. They have dinners who assist is showing you different things.Would have loved to see more.

So dang interesting! Very knowledgeable staff!!! Willing to answer all our questions and they did their best to show us sea creatures. Saw a turtle, star sponge and sea urchin and beautiful coral reefs. Remember folks its not the aquarium so dont think youll see everything you see in a fish tank. I was a little disappointed with this. I opted for this tour rather than the submarine because I did not feel comfortable going underwater in a sub. The brochure made it sound like we would see a lot. But all we saw were a couple of fish and the diapers brought up some sea urchins And other stuff from the bottom. The boat was hard to get on. I would’ve liked to have seen more ocean life .

Awesome experience seeing the reef up close and personal. Very informative and knowledgable narrator, smooth ride, great and fun dive crew... saw lots of reef ocean life. The wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves...

It was fun and all but the glass bottom is not air conditioned. It got hot pretty quick and become unbearable. We ended the rest of the trip on the top deck. I wouldnt do this again. The staff were fantastic but the heat was just too much.

Great people fun time and a great way to learn about the reef. The staff had tons of fun facts, we saw turtles, and other amazing creatures that you won’t see unless you dive. I wish they would add lights and offer a night tour that would be awesome to see the reef at night all lit up at night.

Unable to go snorkeling, so decided to book Reef Dancers. Crew was awesome Thanks Paul and Natalie. Got to see many types of fish, eels, corals and urchins, not to mention being in a semi submarine while viewing the sea life. No turtles, but thats ok. Trip was very educational and memorable. Not just for kids like I was told. Great time. Thanks Reef Dancers.

We had low visibility on our cruise day but the crew more than made up for it. They were extremely accommodating for our 2 year old too. We would recommend and go again!!

What an awesome experience! We took our yr old daughter and she totally loved it and we had a great time too! We went early on a Sunday and the boat was only 1/3 full so we got to really move around a lot and interact with the crew (who were all wonderful). Would definitely recommend if you have small children.

So cool. Every age will love it. Small places bother you, no worries big enough to stand and walk around

+ves: great views of the reef, helpful and knowledgeable crew.-ves: not recommended if you get sea sick or motion sick. The boat wobbles a lot since it has to idle in the reef. Also the inside is not air-conditioned and just has fans, so it tends to get hot.The heat and the motion made me sea sick had to spend outside in the air.

Joke! The 2 stars are for the ride in this semi submersible. We didnt see squat.. had to have scuba divers bring us urchins, starfish, etc from the sea floor to view. Save your money.. its looks like fun but its not!

This is so cool. You are on a boat and you see underwater. Its a cool experience that is so educational at the same time.

Maui is fun but THIS IS the most amazing experience I had in Maui! I would recommend this fun family owned amazing boat+sub experience to any family! It is clean, comfortable, friendly down to earth experience and this is much better than the actual sub because you can see both the amazing sea creatures in shallow coral reefs and deep water (plus the upstairs boat experience) I saw over 30 dolphins and three sea turtles! It’s simply amazing! I can tell all the staffs truly love the ocean! I love everything about it and this is my first 5 star review!p.s. I learned from this trip – sunscreen kills the coral reefs. Please consider your contribution to our beautiful nature and wear long swimsuits as sun coverage instead. Mahalo!

The divers brought some sea life to us. The octopus was cool. Only saw one turtle. If you have a weak stomach, take some Dramamine. The emcee sounds like he has been doing his job too long. No one was really paying attention, and he was more trying to entertain himself to pass the time. He was nice, but his jokes were really not very funny

The waters were too cloudy for our tour, but the crew went out anyway and we were able to see dolphins swim right next to the boat. Great and knowledgeable staff. You can tell they enjoy what they do. Definitely recommend and would love to go out again if given the opportunity to come back to Maui.

If youve ever wanted to go diving, but are a little scared, than this is for you. It allows you to see the wonders of the ocean without even getting wet! With knowledgeable staff, this is a great place for everyone of all ages to explore the great blue!

Amazing tour, divers, and group

Super cool and friendly staff you can tell they really love their job. Would definitely go again. Our two and a half year old daughter was entertained the whole hour

I know they cant control what sea creatures appear, but terribly disappointing. Saw 2 star fish, a sea urchin, and random small fish. The staff was pleasant though.

Did the 1.5 hour tour and had a great time. Wasn’t too busy so was able to see out of both sides of the boat. As our tour was the longer one we went a bit further away and saw turtles, reef sharks and plenty more. On the way back we were also lucky enough to spot a whale breaching. There were handy guides which made spotting different types of fish a fun challenge. Guide and divers were all good. Would definitely recommend.

On this boat ride you learned alot of fun and interesting fish and marine facts. We saw dolphins, octapus, and amazing fish.

This was our first trip to Hawaii, and there was 5 of us !! We all enjoyed the exsperience. They were so knowledgeable and being a scuba diver myself made it even more incredible !!! GREAT JOB REEF DANCER..

The trip was very enjoyable until we had a minor medical issue with my wife and her vertigo. The staff, especially Gabe, jumped into action and helped tremendously to keep my wife as comfortable as she could be until we got back to shore. Excellent crew !

Friendly and energetic staff. Length of the tour was just right for our young children. If you have time, book the 90 min tour. Well worth it!

Overall a fun experience. Staff was very friendly and the boat is spacious and fun, not too claustrophobic. It was kind of windy when we went so visibility was not great. We saw a lot of small fish, the diver caught an octopus and brought it to the windows to show everyone up close. We also saw a small turtle very briefly as it quickly swam by.

Cancelled on us twice, at the last minute. One time we were already driving there. We lost two good days to go out on a boat. I would stay away from this outfit and not book them again. Kids were pretty upset too.

My daughter came to visit her mum on Maui. My one day off of work and her last day to adventure... we chose Reefdancer. We were not disappointed. The entire staff was extraordinarily kind, accommodating, knowledgeable, fun, and helpful. The trip is great for all ages. We learned so much about the reef and local fish. Saw a surplus of turtles. The dive show was a delight and educational. Thank you to the crew for a wonder-filled trip we shall not forget. If you live here, they honor kama’aina and are VERY kind about it!

Awesome family outing to do in Maui! The staff and owner have so much passion.

Had a great time! This is great for those that dont snorkel or want to swim in the ocean. The staff is very friendly. The boat is roomy and comfortable. Saw some great sea life around the coral reefs and saw 2 huge sea turtles. There is also seating on the main boat deck with great views of Lahaina harbor.

It was a neat experience for my toddler, who would have otherwise not seen sea creatures up close (she does not like swimming in the ocean). Their staff was friendly and accommodating, especially Heidi, who had to rebook us due to a user error in their online booking system.Having experienced it now, I would have probably waited til my child was a bit older, as she wasnt able to appreciate (or see) the creatures that were farther out, such as the sea turtles.Regardless, I was happy for the time on the boat and the creatures we got to see. Kids five and under are free, and the one hour tour was just the right amount of time for my three year old.p.s. I wouldnt recommend this for anyone who gets easily seasick!

This is a great tour for kids. Or like my wife who is deathly afraid of water. Its only a hour long, therefore it doesnt eat up beach time. The staff were super friendly. Reasonably priced.

My wife and I enjoyed this very much. Easy and cheaper alternative to snorkeling, perfect for families. We saw an octopus, frog fish and two turtles plus other sea life. Thumbs up!

Submarine cant beat the real experience. But if you got little kids or elderly or who dont want or know how to swim, this is a good option. The boats sound drive the fishes away though.we were lucky to see a large group of dolphin underwater. Service was good.

What a great excursion! This is the 2nd time I’ve been on it. The first time my son was almost 2 and now he is 4.5 and he loved it both times. The staff was super friendly and pointed out all the different kinds of sea creatures. They were great with my father (in his 80s) to help him on and off the boat! The whole tour was narrated and they were super quick to tell us which side to look out of. They even gave the children one on one time while they were narrating to the rest of the passengers! We saw a bunch of turtles as well as all the fish. The 2nd time we even saw a shark and a couple eels.I get that they can’t always predict how clear it is. The 2nd time was clearer than the first time, but we saw things both time and we were happy both times. My son especially liked the “man fish!” This is when they have a scuba diver jumps out to attract fish and things. He also was very interactive through the glass with the kids!This is a great experience and can’t wait to do it again!

Good option for young toddlers or folks who are not able to snorkel or scuba underwater. Otherwise, can be a bit boring for others.Guides are friendly and the ones on our trip were good with kids.

Started okay but nature was not cooperating so we did not see anything really good. The young guy who was speaking about what we were seeing seemed a little silly at first but he turned out okay. Not really that much to see.
