It’s a nice wide beach with beautiful water, restrooms & a lifeguard. We saw several sea turtles over in the rock area. Has picnic tables and a grassy area also. Some shade available but I would suggest getting there early (9 am) if you want the one best shady spots as this seems to be a popular place. In our experience, we were actually “late” by 930 am as most nice beaches had no parking left. There is a pretty large parking area but by 10 am it was nearly full on the day we went.
Beautiful beach, close parking, nice fun waves. Wonderful views of the surrounding area. Keep it clean
We snorkeled around the Dragons Teeth on the leftside and got out in the next bay, climbed the cliffs and walk back thru the Kapalua golf course to the labyrinth...a delightful adventure, w/ awesome views of Molokai!
Away from the development and crowds, be sure you are confident in the water.
Picnic tables, great waves bathrooms and parking. Restaurant and bar close.
This beach is a bit of a longer drive than other beaches on the west side, but is well worth it if you enjoy its unique attributes. Being that north, it often gets cool breezes and large waves. Its very easy to find shade from morning to noon, and has fully functional bathrooms with a large parking lot. There is a foot wash available to public beach goers. Also theres a lifeguard tower positioned there, as the large waves make great for boogie boarding but arent so kind to people who arent good swimmers.
I like to boogie board - this beach had the waves to make it happen! Beach is clean, not usually crowded. Lifeguards are on duty a good part of the day. Washroom was pretty clean for a beach facility. Theres an outdoor shower to clean off with. Parking is quite generous and free. Great place for fun in the water if you enjoy the surf!
We came hoping for great boogie boarding waves. We read reviews that this was a great place for it. Maybe it was the wrong time of day (all morning) or the wrong tide (low), but the waves broke too close to the sharp beach for it to be great. But its a beautiful beach and not too crowded. And we saw a turtle.
Nice sandy beach nice waves not alot of rocks..It rocks!!
Its the perfect place to hang out for the day especially if you have you have young children. This park is amazing! The DT Fleming park is located right next to the Ritz-Carlton in Maui. It is an absolutely gorgeous setting. Lots of shade trees, plenty of grass area, a lifeguard on duty and absolutely stunning gorgeous beaches! You can even walk over to an outdoor restaurant in order a hamburger or Shake if you dont want to bring food. The restaurant is part of the Ritz-Carlton and it is definitely pricey! Twenty bucks for a hamburger! $12 for a milkshake! But the park itself is a must-see.
Pretty crowded after Christmas holiday and during tournament of champions golf tournament in January. Waves can be rough but so much fun for body surfing. Does have red flag warnings many times Im here.. excellent lifeguard ( not many on West Maui!) They will warn about rip tides when very dangerous at times!! Take caution!!
Such a beautiful place, you can see the rosters.
A wonderful beach with tons of parking at the end of the road! DT Fleming is a lifeguard staffed beach with picturesque views but at times rough surf and sand blasting winds.Generally the surf and winds pick up as the morning approaches noon but always check the surf reports if you are unsure. Restrooms, outdoor showers, and morning/afternoon shade make this a family friendly beach. Boogie boarding seems to be popular here but be careful and check the lifeguards dry erase board outside his station for daily safety information.
Nice, small beach park on the north west corner of Maui. Plenty of open areas and beach space. Lifeguard on duty during normal working hours.
Nice place to get some shorebreaks
Awesome beauty, great for boogie boarding, snorkeling, swimming or just relaxing on the beach.
Very nice, waves were not as aggressive as other beaches we visited. It is somewhat steep you dont have to go very far by the time it gets deep. I was not enjoying Hawaii beaches that much because I was stressed out having my kids wanting to go into deep waters. All three of my kids are good swimmers, but they are still my kids.
This is an absolutely amazing beach, it is typically a bit packed but the waves here are amazing for boogie boarding, body boarding and surfing. There are very minimal amounts of rocks if any and it is always fun. Though a bit packed there is always room to throw a football around. The waves are typically really good unless it is super clear out then they dont get to the greatest heights. The beach is amazing and there is a lot to do to have fun. There is a small bar to eat and drink just a little ways off but still an easy walk to get too.
Gorgeous beach with lifeguard and shower, plus near by beach side bar and restaurant.
This was a beautiful beach tucked away from some of the craziness of other local beaches on the west side of Maui. It was not crowded, which is saying something for some of the beaches around here. Has a dedicated parking lot. Theres plenty of shade in the morning to early afternoon time of day. The water wasnt as clear when I was here compared to a couple other beaches in the area, so maybe not the best for snorkeling.
Park here to hike the Coastal Trail. Beautiful views, 1.75 miles each way.
A great beach for boogie boarding. Parking can be challenging during high season. Theres lots of room to stretch out on the sand without bumping into your neighbor. The scenery is gorgeous and theres even a beachfront bar. (The bar is owned by the Ritz Carlton and is pricey BUT you are in Maui and know to bring your wallet. )
This beach became our favorite. We love waves. There is enough parking and shade. Also cafe at Ritz, basically on the beach. So you can get some food. Showers and washroom.
Great beach with kid size waves for family fun. Clean and beautiful. Great body surfing.
This is a small beach past Kapalua. Plenty of nice white sand. Although it is not very long, it is a great beach for walking/running back and forth because it is relatively flat. There are toilets and showers. There werent any rocks in the water which makes playing in the water more pleasant. When we went the waves were a bit choppy not sure if thats normal.
This beach is crazy good!!! We met a group of turtles and swam with them for half hours. Super recommend!
Nice beach lots of wildlife even saw some turtles. Facilities are public bathrooms but perfect spot for picnic.
We had a wonderful time snorkeling at D.T. Fleming Park. We stopped there due to the Sandy bottom and had planned on stopping for only a short time, but ended up spending the entire afternoon. As we snorkeled further out, we there were many ocean fish to interact with, which was nice. We later found a group of sea turtles to the northeast end of the beach and ended up snorkeling with them for some time, taking care not to touch them, as they fed on moss. It was magical. The lifeguard present was nice, as was having a shower. There are picnic tables and plenty of parking. A very nice beach park!
A fun family friendly beach. Not to good for snorkeling but a nice beach. Bathrooms and lifeguards. BBQ grills as well and plenty of parking.
Great beach...Easy to get to. Big parking lot..
One of my favorite beaches on the west side of the island. There’s restrooms, life guards for most of the day, nice waves, great sand, and plenty of picnic tables.
Great spot for families! With lots of parking, a restroom and life guard. You are totally set for a fun day at the beach! My boys loved boogie boarding here!
Well maintained, lifeguard, free parking, plenty of sand. Watched some people body surfing. Good family beach.
This is the first beach we have visited with lifeguards. Great if you have small kids. We are here in October and it is not overly crowded. We managed to get the second to last parking spot and the empty one next to us filled in immediately. There is no trash but a lot of sticks from the trees around.
The Fleming beach was is not mentioned as one best snorkeling beaches and we went there only to mark that we saw all the north-west beaches of Maui. There were some waves so we did not went to snorkel on the rocky left side but to the middle of the left area where the water shadows pointed to be a reef over there. And it was! Not a coral reef but a strange rocky formation full deep crakes and small caves and stone arches. The depth of water over this reef is about 4-8 meters and more than that so even with some waves it is not unsafe shallow water. The reef is very large and we snorkel only on the left side area without reaching its outer end because the waves were higher there.Due to the waves the water was not quite crystal clear but the visibility was good.We snorkel about one hour and half and it was great. There were not many fish but we encounter three turtles medium to big and in my opinion it was the most impressive underwater rocky landscape that I encounter in Maui.On my snorkeling marking scale in that day the score for Fleming Beach were 5 from a maximum of 5 point. For the snorkeling fans that enjoy more the underwater landscape than the marine fauna I warmly recommend Fleming Beach as very pleasant snorkeling experience.
Easy parking, easy access to the beach. The shoreline was pretty steep so you have to watch for a mouthful of sand if you body surf in. Bathroom facilities were so so, at least they had some. Windy! But what a view. You catch a little bit of the golf course to the left and craggy outcroppings to the right.
WE COULD HAVE STAYED AĹĹ DAY ÌT WAS DEFINITELÝ MAJESTIC
Great little beach, turtles right off the rocks!
Uncrowded until afternoon, the beach seemed popular with locals as well as tourists. Easy morning parking. Limited later, it reduces overcrowding. Lifeguards, restrooms, picnic tables, a grill, and amazing scenery. More locals in the afternoon and evening. Great surfing and body boarding. This is away from the highway, a plus.
Very nice beach, big waves, restroom, life guard, and shade plus large parking lot. Also a walkway out to a promontory. Great place to spend a day.
What a beautiful spot! Passed the Kapalua exit. Great cover beach. Shared access to those staying at the Ritz Carlton. Waves seem to roll. There is a lifeguard hut and they had posted information that helped us understand the best place to enjoy that day.
Great North Shore Beach for Boogie Boarding, with showers & bathrooms.
Nice beach, a little choppy but we loved the Ritz Carlton beach bar next door.
We really enjoyed the beach and the surf here. It wasnt very crowded and its a beautiful beach to enjoy some time in the sand and the waves.
Very big beach with soft sand. The swells can get very big during the winter. About 5 feet in November. There are lifeguards on duty. Restrooms. Good beach to surf. No snorkeling here.
Our family loves this beach! Great place to boogie board, build sand castles, and jump waves.
Long sand beach on the north west side.
Napili is better
Great spot for body boarding in the West side. Life guards are bossy and aggressive. But theyre there for the tourists.
Large stretch of sand with good waves for boogie boarding or surfing.
Beautiful beach with lifeguard several warnings about Riptide did not snorkel here and didnt see anybody else snorkeling. Less populated than other nearby beaches in Lahaina.
Great beach park, perfect for the family. Not much of a park more of just a beach.
This place had insane waves the day we came! Great for boogie boarding and people watching. Nice they have a lifeguard on duty too...kinda scary!
Nice beach good parking. Lots of sand. Reasonable waves. Close to shore hiking.
Our favorite beach when we where at Maui. Beautiful beach and not too wavy, perfect to swim and sunbathing.
This beach is the Best! We spent hours on this beach.occasionally depending on the direction of the wind and surf it can get a bit rough... Dont let that scare you off
Lots of good picnic tables. And a flush toilet!
Great beach for swimming and body surfing. Soft sand and shade from trees. Lifeguard restrooms on site. Access to Kapalua Coastal Trail. Get here early for free parking.
Lovely beach park with picnic tables and fun water for boogie boarding or playing in the waves. Great place for pictures too!
Such an amazing place...
This is truly a great beach. It is about 1/4 mile long but most of the time there are only about 50 to 100 people there at its peak. The beach has shade and a great sandy beach which extends into the water for at least 50 feet. Theres a life guard on duty all day which is nice. Its a great place to swim but not for snorkeling
Awesome beach with great views.
Besides the beach we also enjoyed the Burger Shack for lunch. Four of us all had very good meals. The Beach waves were a fair size but is well watched by a Lifeguard tower.
Most of the time great waves. Not always sunny. Right side of the beach is for surfers
Its cool
Lovely beach, has lifeguard as well. Nice place to sit and relax or surf if you are a surfer
Very clean park. Lifeguard protected. Good wave action. Very picturesque.
Natures Beauty at its Best.No amount of words can explain the natural beauty of nature with bluish Sea water and bluish sky.Enjoyed every minute of our stay and my wife loved this place very much.
Easy to park, easy to get to, and the beach is beautiful! Snorkeling should be OK if you go close to the rocks on either side. I saw lots of fish and coral an eel and a turtle!Remember you cant touch anything when snorkeling.
Great beach for surfing, please listen to lifeguards and stay away from the surfing side when swiming.
Fun time at the beach today. It has a little bit for everyone. My boys loved the waves for bodysurfing and bodyboarding. Theres restrooms and showers to rinse off after your day. A shack shack just up the trail for treats. I really enjoyed the shady trees to get out of the burning Hawaiian sun and still be at the beach. A fun place.
Love this beach. Great waves.
A really nice boogie boarding spot!
This used to be a great surfing spot. With head high shore breaks. With a very dangerous reef. But after so much dumping of sand the waves are timid and the reef is gone
This is a nice public park. Waves were too high for us, but we enjoyed watching the surfers.
What a marvelous day! This beach has a spot for everyone Surfers, Boogie borders, wave jumpers, people who like the shade, people who like the sun and the ritz-carltons burger bar right above the beach just cant beat it.
This beach was perfect for us - super close to the Ritz & good for swimming (no coral nearby and the waves were big enough it was fun, but not so big it was dangerous)
Absolutely beautiful beach, waves are typically pretty big here as well, good for surfing.
Nice little park. Not too crowded.
What a beautiful beach! Plenty of parking and a short walk to the beach. There are restrooms available too. It wasn’t too busy and I felt there was plenty of room to spread out your towels and belongings between other people. The beach sand was pretty soft (and hot) and the water was nice and easy to swim in. The waves weren’t rough when I was there. Lots of families here. I’d recommend this beach!
Nice warm water. A bar within sight. Enjoyable
Nice for families and some rock climbing nearby. Parking is close to the beach and there is a LG on duty. Signs keep you up to date with weather and snokel conditions and there is a trail head to a ridgeline from the parking lot as well. Id return with my little one!
Beautiful beach. Free parking close. Rest rooms for changing.
Fabulous beach. Picnic tables and grass with shade trees. Incredible views.Very romantic at sunset.
Excellent waves! Beautiful sandy beach. Not too crowded. Our favorite beach.
Start of the Pailolo Challenge right here.
Plenty of parking and room for everyone. Love the lifeguard also. Love all the shade, sun and picnic tables. Perfect place to spend the morning and early afternoon!
A great beach to visit in Maui. Not too crowded and close to Valley Isle. However, we went around 11 AM and found parking with about 4 or 5 spaces to spare. Second time, we went at about 4 PM and it was almost empty. Parking holds about 40 to 50 cars. Nice, grassy picnic areas. Bathroom. Shower. Lifeguard on duty until about 4:30 PM. Turtles gather/swim around the rocks at the end of the beach. Great beach for families.
Guard on duty. Real bathrooms. Not too crowded. Decent size waves. Lots of sand.
