Wonderful people and place. Ive been working closely with them for about 18 years. A great staff. They carry many of my best pieces. Full of Aloha. Best location in the state. Mahalo!
Good selection of Artwork!!
I visited Sargent’s Fine Art in December of ‘17 and had an absolutely wonderful experience! The art itself was stunning, with a wide variation offered in a beautiful setting. There seemed to be a good mix of local and national artists featured, and I was very impressed to see one of their local “featured artists” painting in-house on a Friday night. The staff was polite, patient, and helpful. Though we did not purchase anything during our visit, the sales staff was very helpful and understood that we were only browsing while on vacation. However, when we do return to Maui, I would love to visit again, this time with hopes to buy! My girlfriend and I enjoyed our visit to Sargent’s Fine Art much more than any of the other galleries along the Lahaina strip, and she also visited the adjoining jewelry store and bought a beautiful pair of earrings. Bravo and thank you to Sargent’s Fine Art!
Extraordinary and diverse selection, charming staff! My favorite artists were Lori Higgins and Alexi Antonov. Look forward to my next visit. INSIDER TIP: Don’t miss their jewelry store next door.
Had my camera out while exploring the town, and as I was observing the works and taking a few pictures a pretentious old woman came up to me and backhandedly told me I couldnt afford the paintings and to stop taking pictures. Despicable attitudes and no true appreciation for the work theyre doing. I wish there was a 0 star rating. The art was gorgeous but the people were terrible, dont give them your time, and definitely dont give them your money. Go explore the other galleries, there are some fine works out there with much better people behind them.
Very friendly people, tell you all you need yo know, and answer every question you may have, a good variety of the best art in maui
Poor and unhelpful service. Was interested in a glass piece. Asked the man behind the counter if he worked there and how much. He didnt say anything but just stared. A snobby woman walked up to me and said that he was the owner and that she could help me. Told her the piece I was interested in. She held on to the piece like it was going to break at any minute. Next day I went over to another shop (Martin and MacArthur) and bought a nicer looking one by the same artist from some very nice and non-pretentious people. Amazing that I can go into a Rolex or Panerai boutique and the manager will offer to take my family and me out to lunch even if Im dressed in shorts and a tee but these folks act as if you have to kiss the ring to get any kind of decent service.
Great experience here. International class artists and art sales with a local flair.
My girlfriend and I traveled to Maui from Portland, Oregon for a weeks vacation in Feb 2014. We took a day to drive to Lahaina for some dinner and walk through the town. We stopped by Sargents to take a look at some artwork. As we were strolling through the studio Julie the sales person started to chat with us about the paintings of wine art by a famous artist. We had no plans to purchase any art at the time. As we walked through the studio she followed us around and pulled us into a private room to put some added lighting on a couple paintings we were looking at. She then popped open a bottle of wine and offered us a glass and then another. And then told us about a special promotion to throw in a small painting by the same artist with the purchase of the larger one.Long story short and a pretty good buzz after the wine she poured, we purchased the painting. It was to be shipped from another location directly to my home in Portland. We got back to our hotel that night and realized that we were in no shape to be making a purchase like that and that is was something we should not do. I then tried to contact Julie the next day to let her know and left a message. After no response the rest of the day I called the studio and talked to her boss or the owner and told him the situation and he said Julie was off that day and she would have to discuss that with me. I sent an email explaining the above and she responded a day or 2 later with I feel you purchased the painting in good faith and therefor you cannot back out.I contacted my credit card company a few days later but they were unable to cancel. This is really sad that there are people out there that are more concerned about there commission than their reputation !!.Unfortunately I will never purchase anything from this studio or recommend anyone to make a purchase due to their return policy and their sales tactics.
Nice gallery featuring local artists with good quality art work.
Great gallery. We have purchased a few paintings from Sargents every time we have been to Maui. Very nice selection of paintings from Bob Pejman (especially his Lake Como Series...which we own 2 of). Also my other favorite is a Russian artist by the name of Victor Bregeda. Not only do they have great art, but they are very professional in terms of having the art framed and shipped as they promise.A note to the previous review by Bruce from Portand OR: Every time we bought a painting, we sat in the same viewing room and a few times, the gallery staff offered us a glass of wine. They are very nice and hospitable. But no one twisted our arms to buy from them. We have been thrilled with each purchase and our home has been enriched. I suppose there are people out there that would return a meal they ate to a restaurant if they could. Yeah... it was the wine.
Amazing art!
We paid in full for art in June that as of November is still not here. One excuse after another. We dont recommend shopping here and we will never even go in that store again. Horrible experience.
Rude service and snob attitude.
Beautiful works of art.
The best art gallery in Lahaina!
