Really beautiful preserve. Parking situation is very easy; park, pay, sign in and youre good to go. The trail is very well taken care of and even 1/8 of a mile into it you feel like youre far away from where you really are. Gate closes around 5pm so make sure you plan accordingly but tis a beautiful spot
Amazing. The family walks through ocparks are so wonderful and free.
Come out and tske a hike
Nice hiking, but the freeway and developments nearby put a damper on the experience. The lake itself is nice to go by, and the hikes are very moderate. Unfortunately when you get to the top one side is freeway and the other is a community, so not much to see.Still, its quite close and only takes like an hour to complete so it could be worth checking out.
Peaceful and a good work out for an average person.
My gf and I love this place! Lots of trails that connect in to one another - well maintained and easy to access. Lake is up now that rainfall was steady. Well see how it holds...
This trail is perfect for a first timer. It is not very taxing if you do the 3 mile hike and it is pretty picturesque.
Good hike, wish parking was free.
Nice place to go hiking.
Awesome place to hike
Love the short trail over here, but Barbaras Lake has run dry...
Cool hike, could use more shade. The lake was totally dried up today 8/15/15
The James Dilley Preserve Staging Area is open seven days a week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. It may be closed for rain or high fire danger.
