This place is top notch. I have stayed here for the last year almost once a month. The service is excellent, The food divine, and The rooms all have amazing views. The staff is willing to work with me when I request a specific room. They are accommodating to most requests. The staff is pleasant and kind. The Valet Service is wonderful and very customer service oriented and they actually care about your car. The Omni Los Angles has always treated me like a Princess when I have stayed there. See you soon Omni!!

I came here for a wedding and it was beautiful. the hotel staff was helpful and the actual accommodations were great as well. the restaurant has its own private staircase leading to the racy directly which was a great walk. im not completely sure if they always have weddings here or not but their big event room was a great size for a group of about 50 at the wedding i attended. all in all, this is a great location and the valet parking isnt too expensive either!

My wife and I spent one night here and let me say, this IS NOT a 4 star hotel in any way. While there is great potential for this place, I am being generous giving it 3 stars. First the good. Your location is perfect for the sleepy downtown area of Laguna Beach. You are within a 5 minute walk to almost any downtown location and a 15 minute walk to the Festival of the Arts and Pagent of the Masters. The beach is beautiful and they offer completely beech recliner with umbrella on a first come first serve basis. The hotel restaurant has amazing views of the ocean and beach. We didnt have dinner there, but the breakfast was reasonably priced and taisted good. I had the crab cakes Benedict while my wife had the 2 egg breakfast. The espresso was reasonably good as well and the coffee was hot. Our server was not on her game as there were extended amounts of time without her checking on us, but we could see the other server was much more attentive. Now for the bad. Its a shame really, this is a beautiful hotel with huge potential but corners are cut and details are lost. The beds are very uncomfortable. My wife and I constantly slumped to the middle. The paint looked reasonably new, but what a poor paint job, there were marks of the tan paint all over the ceiling, the bathroom wall tiles were painted... Painted tile?! Really? It is true the rooms are loud, but its an old hotel so Im forgiving to things like that. Shut your window and turn on a fan and everything is fine. Our TV didnt work after trying to call the front desk three times we gave up on it... The next day it seemed to be fine, after talking with the front desk and asking that they didnt disturb my wife (maintenance guy called minutes after I left the front desk). The carpet had a runner along the room edge that was stapled to the wall. Stapled. You could actually see the hundreds of staples being used to hold it to the wall. So, heres the nut shell. We would stay here again. The hotel is okay. The service was spotty depending on who you happen to get (Pam at the front desk was great as was the shaved/bald waiter in the restaurant). The street noise didnt bother us when the windows were closed -- we didnt even use the provided ear plugs.

At a wedding, the place is nice and staff is friendly, wedding coordinator is not to friendly or helpful. As a coordinator you would think you would be nice and helpful. She obviously did not get this memo. For all the money paid you think we would have got better service, also the chairs bleed, so on everyone butts was white from the chairs. Overall it was a nice Beach wedding just think the money could have been spent better somewhere else

Rude, over priced. Had a wedding here and they were nice when trying to close the deal but when it came down to the wedding the whole atmosphere was different!!! Horrible service and again pretty rude. The beach wedding was nice except the kids playing on the beach kept running up behind the alter and now the wedding pics have all kinds of random kids in the background. They need to update this place a little. No air conditioning, tired carpet bed was ehhh

I love this place. Great location — old school bar and beachside restaurant. Dated rooms. No ac — maybe a heater.... single pane windows that sometimes close. When the surf is up it’s too loud to sleep. I go for nostalgia...and try to imagine I’m paying the 1970’s rate of $65 a night.

Old historical hotel. Rooms very dated, small, no airconditioner, cant remember a heater either, single pane windows would not close. And we had one of the best rooms. Great beach view from our room. Hotel in a great location except for the homeless camping in the park next door.I must be a glutton for punishment... this is not the first time we have been here. So the good must have outweighed the bad.I think you have to be a special kind of person to like this place.

Hotel Laguna is a charming with a little vintage feel, with a breathtaking view of the ocean and gorgeous garden. We received nothing but incredible and thoughtful service from the staff. Our room was upgraded for no extra charge since they had a better room available that evening and we had booked last minute and were checking in later in the evening. I fell asleep listening to the ocean. They make it their mission at Hotel Laguna to pamper their guests. The room was clean and nice, it would feel a little small to those who are used to huge hotel rooms, to me it felt the right size and almost had a European feel. There is no A/C, but with open windows and an overhead fan it never felt hot - the cool air off the ocean made up for it the July heat we had during the day. Breakfast next to the beach, watching the waves and people walk along the sand was a great way to start the day. Also, there are lounge chairs provided by the hotel on the beach. Everything is in walking distance in this charming beach city.

Awesome views and location! Fronts the town of Laguna Beach with cute little shops and the backyard is the ocean. Our family loved this Cali locale. It is now our favorite place to stay in Southern California. The valet parking was great- trying to find a place to park is nearly impossible during Spring break. However, if you prefer luxurious rooms you will hate this hotel. The room was very minimal- looked like it had not been updated since the 1950s and the floor was wet and sandy, but that is to be expected in a beach hotel. That being said the rest of the room was very clean. Helpful staff and great restaurant. Highly recommended!

Ive never actually stayed here, but the view in the restaurant here is incredible. You cant get much better than an ocean view in Laguna while you eat. I like that unlike a lot of other beach restaurants there is an indoor sections windows instead of being outside. So you can still come here and enjoy the ocean while you eat, even on windy or cold days. The food is delicious too.

The location of the hotel cant be beat, but it could definitely use some updating. Our room had no air conditioning and was like a sweat box when we arrived. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant at the hotel had a great pasta dish that I tried. It was very convenient being located right next to main beach and on the main drag, but because of the lack of A.C., especially in the end of July, I will look for a different place to stay next time.

Musty little hotel on Laguna Beach. I am very easy to please, but one criteria needs to be met... It has to be clean! I understand is a historic place, but historic and iconic does not translate to dirty and stinky. The rooms have old windows that allow every noise from the very busy front road to interrupt your sleep. Never coming back.

Im very easy to please, but this place is a joke. So the standard rate is over $130, for the view of a busy and very loud street below (little sound proof on windows....thought my window was actually open due to the noise). if you want an ocean view, its only (the guy literally said) only $80 more. Got home after a night of fun bar hopping and was expecting a comfortable shower and climbing into bed, but lo and behold, there was literally NO warm water, zero, zilch. I froze my ass off. The room smelled musty, the carpets dirty, and the bathroom similar to my 90 yr old grandparents. Beware of the positivereviews on here because they must be a lie! Again, I dont really care because Im easy to please, but figured Id post a review for your sake. Good luck! Shower before you get here!

This was a disappointment. We stayed here in November of 2017. We chose Hotel Laguna for its historical significance and prime location. While the exterior architecture is great and iconic, the interior needs fixing. Room design, bedding and bathroom amenities are poor. The mattress is hard and very bouncy, so at night when one person turns the other bounces up and down. Furniture, pillows, blankets, sheets and bathroom amenities are unbelievably cheap, like in a cheap motel. I say this because I buy hotel supplies and know prices and quality of these things. I just couldnt believe when I saw the beds. The furniture, walls, carpets and bathrooms all need renovation. Our ocean view room also overlooked a dirty, ugly roof with AC ducts and while hearing waves crash we also heard AC turn on and off. In the right hands this place can be a gem, but as of now its deteriorating into a ghost hotel.

The hotel is pretty outdated but has really pretty views. It is pretty hot as there is no air conditioning and only ceiling fans. I was there for a wedding I was in, the coordinator was fantastic however it was an invreadbly stressful day due to a fiasco with the rooms. My bride was supposed to have the bridal sweet the night before and night of her wedding. Something happened and the bridal suite was booked up so she spent the night before in a regular room (no big deal) and the front seat was supposed to call her and notify when the suite was ready around 10 they said. They did not call until after 12, again not a huge deal but rough as we were supposed to be getting ready for a wedding. The real problem was, a half hour after we got into that room we were called by the front desk and informed they gave us the wrong room and that we needed to get out....so again in the middle of getting ready for a wedding we had to pack up and move. They assured us that the next room was bigger and better than the one we were in...which was a lie. The 3 room we were in was much smaller and while it had an ocean view it really did not accommodate the needs that they said it would. We wound up starting the ceremony late because the bridal party could not get ready very fast due to all the moving around that occurred and we got pushed by the staff to basically hurry up which was frustrating since it was their fault we we all late to begin with. But again, beautiful site, nice beach, old rooms.

THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING! Checking in employees were inattentive, they were sitting in the office while a line built up in the lobby. Once I finally got to my room I realized there was no air conditioning, which I didnt think was even possible in 2014. I had to sleep with the windows open, which was terribly loud from traffic and people on the street. The bathroom has not been remodeled since the place was built. Upon checking out the man didnt even acknowledge me standing at the desk, so I finally called to him and asked, Do I just leave the keys here? He responded in a snippy tone that I have to check out first. I finally asked them to email me a receipt, which they also neglected to do. I travel a lot for work and have stayed in some pretty rough hotels, but for $227 a night I thought this place would at least be decent. I was wrong.

We were married at Hotel Laguna 15 years ago and decided to stay overnight to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. We had a pleasant stay there. Through no fault of their own, the weather wasnt cooperating. The room was hot and uncomfortable, even with two fans at full blast. Perhaps they should consider adding AC, but due to the logistics and cost, I would understand why that wouldnt be possible. We probably wont be staying there in the future anymore, because the amount of money I spent for a room with a single king bed could have paid for a more modern hotel just a few more blocks down Hwy 1.

This is for the restaurant only. Was seated with my family on the patio outside. Was not busy at all and pretty wide open at 5pm. After about 5 minutes of sitting there, I asked a waiter if we could move to one of the 2 empty tables right next to ours that were serviced by the same waitress. We just wanted a better ocean view and to be out of the sun more. Waiter said no, and I asked to just ask his manager or have him come and speak with me. He came back and said the manager said no and that he would not speak with me. That was enough for me to leave and take my business elsewhere. At least come talk to a customer who asks, even if you say no, ignoring and blowing people off is not good business practice. Last time I ever go there, and I hope that 2 people who took the table next to us made you more money than the 2 drinks only they ordered. My appetizer and 3 drinks was 50 bucks alome before the meals I would have ordered, and I still tipped. Horrible customer service! Manager...pfft, learn some management skills.

I was born and raised up and down the Southern California coast, and though I lived in Laguna for several years I had never stayed at the iconic Laguna Hotel (how many stay at a hotel in their hometown?). I always wanted to though. Unfortunately when I finally got to stay there, it was a big disappointment. Ive stayed worst places, but not typically at this rate. Its a shame, because the place has SO much potential and history - yet the current owners seem to have merely done what had to be done and nothing more. The decor is absolutely boring and dated. Its clean, and the staff are friendly & helpful and of course the location is great - but thats what makes the rest of the shortcomings such a shame. This is a historic landmark and should be maintained as such. Things barely work. I stopped using the elevator as I didnt trust it - I have NEVER done this before. On the morning of our check out the power went out...well, sort of, every light dimmed to nearly out (mid-shave - alright). I love Laguna, have family there and visit often. I wont stay at the Hotel Laguna until the owners - current or new ones - renovate and give this building its rightful dignity.
