Mussels were great, and the mushroom soup was an absolute delicacy. Some mussels were absolutely filled with shell remainings and other rocks so I would recommend they watch out for their suppliers and also to people ordering to be careful with that. The bread top my soup had was soo amazing I would score it a 10 out of 5 it was really good. Other than that is that they do fry their potatoes on beef fat and that can be a downside for anyone trying to keep out red meat. Or constrained with dietary restrictions. The check took forever at the end like we had to beg to pay but other than that it was a good experience.

Mind you this spot is not a bargain, and I think it’s actually become more expensive recently. But. Everything was perfect. The portions were solid sizes. The fries as always were great(duh). The mussels were cooked and seasoned perfectly.Charging for a side of Mayo is a little excessive in my opinion. Especially when you consider they used to serve 3 sauces with the fries. But the very affordable flights of great Belgian beer did prove to be redeeming. And great service as well.

Fantastic food. Delicious dessert. Amazing ambiance! This is definitely a new favorite. The management was wonderful - checked in on us made sure we were enjoying our evening. I would suggest this place to anyone! In our little city of montrose, this is a nice little get away. You completely forget where you are and take a quick trip down the Spanish isle. Love love love!

As a Belgian expat in California, I am so happy to have found this authentic gem. The fries were delicious and crispy, the homemade sauces were just the way we like them, the cheese and grey shrimp croquettes might of been better than the ones back in Belgium and my vol au vent was perfect!!! Don’t forget to enjoy a Triple Karmeliet!!

Christine is a blessing during this time. Tonight was my first night out in a month (we have to limit ourselves due to family risk) and I only had one place in mind: Brussels Bistro, PRAYING that Id be seated in her section! Ive struggled very much in this pandemic, just with everything in general, and she (along with the amazing FOOD!) provided me with a sweet, temporary escape alongside a safe, reassuring atmosphere once again. There have been so many establishments out there breaking mandates and protocols, or cutting corners. Brussels seems to really stay on top of things, safety wise, and I couldnt be more appreciative.Thank you to everyone for giving me a wonderful bite of normal. Im a very happy girl, as I sit here and eat my leftovers. ️Ate:- Mussels & fries: spicy tomato and garlic+cream (first time we got the 1lb yellow curry and 1lb blue cheese - LEGEND!). I grabbed a side of blue cheese to go with the garlic+cream because I was nostalgic for the last trips order. Yum! Thinking of doing something fun with the leftover spicy tomato broth.- Side salad (subbed over the fries on my order): just what I needed... honorable mention for the balsamic vinaigrette! Perfect acidity.- Side order of baguette: a must. WORTH the $3, which I cant say about anywhere else. We needed another.Drank:- Le Jaja de Jau Merlot, $34. Well worth the price, lovely. Opened well. Stored properly, which I really appreciate in the summer months. Thanks, Brussels!(Posting the escargot from my first trip - it was wonderful. A must order. I skipped it this time in favor of more room in my stomach, but definitely will get next time.)

Great location and a nice outdoor space... The food was very tasty and a nice variety on the menu... We ordered a small pot of mussels with the white wine and garlic and we also ordered the pork shank... Both were well done, but the fries were pretty boring and not very authentic to French style...Service wise our server was not 100% on his game... We asked for lemon water and got plain and then asked.for lemons multiple times... He also asked if we wanted bread and then didnt bring it and asked us again.. but everyone was nice and overall it was a nice evening...

Very cool place and amazing food. Mussels are superb!!! Beat salad is tasty! Beer? Mmmmm.... Beer!!!! Excellent!!! I love everything that I ordered. My husband loved his fish dish, but said that onion soup was not onion soup, but something else. I didnt taste it, so I have nothing to say about that soup. Maybe Belgian soup is different from French onion... He insisted I mention it. So be aware the onion soup they have maybe different from you expect. As of the place and the experience - I highly recommend it. Oh, and, service is very good as well.

I chose Brussels for my birthday lunch. We drank beer and wine and ordered appetizers including French fries and mac n cheese. Consistent with the name, this place has a Eurplopean vibe. The food was decadent. Service was excellent. We sat at the bar outside. Seating options include inside/outside, below the street level or at street level. Theres not a bad place in the house. Love the crowd. This is an excellent date spot. At night it turns into a club specializing in electronic music.

SENSATIONAL SERVICE ! My wife and I were spending a weekend getaway in Newport Beach. After breakfast at a nearby cafe in Laguna Beach we noticed this cute shopping precinct opposite the park on the beach. It was early on Sunday morning...before 9.30am and many of the stores and restaurants were not yet open. However we did spot Brussels Bistro in its basement location not yet open also. This would come in handy for future reference. In the end we decided it was too early in the day to explore this cute touristy area properly and we headed back to the Marriott Hotel to clean up and check out. After very nice coffees at our favorite Newport Beach coffee shop we headed back here to look at the shops. Funny enough this time round it was very difficult to find a parking spot....I think we did 4 laps of the main street before we got lucky in a metered parking lot. We had a fun time checking out many of the clothing stores and tourist gift shops. We decided that a late lunch would suit our needs and after seeing the restaurants on offer we chose Brussels Bistro. We knew what to expect because we enjoyed a delicious lunch at the San Clemente location last year soon after it opened. So we made our way here around 2.30pm and we could see it was packed out downstairs. I went down to have a quick look and thought lunch at the bar would be fine. My wife was hungry by now and totally agreed. The charming hostess Tiana looked after us with menus as soon as we were seated. I recognized a male server who looked familiar from the San Clemente restaurant. Turns out it was Pierre the restaurant manager here and he said he did help with the opening of the other location last year. A bartender/ server named Adele behind the bar brought us tall glasses of water and took our lunch order. My wife ordered the Beef Stew and I chose a Belgian Burger with a side of Frites not the salad. I was pondering over which delicious Belgian beer to choose with my lunch...they have a great selection of all the good stuff and I love Belgian beers. In the end Delirium Tremens won out and it came out in a very ornate new style Delirium Tremens tall glass which we hadnt seen before. My wife loved the pretty glass.....I have a small collection of nice beer glasses in the fridge at home but it is not an obsession. Still this glass was awfully cute ! Our meal orders arrived simultaneously and looked very appetizing. The place was so busy...not a vacant table in sight but we had plenty of space at the bar. Hostess Tiana dropped off the complimentary fresh baked Artisan Bread...we remembered this incredibly delicious bread from our lunch at their San Clemente location. It was perfect with my wifes Beef Stew. My Delirium Tremens beer tasted very good as I knew it would...even better in this amazing glass ! I had to munch on a few of the hand cut Frites before trying my Burger. I dipped them in the accompanying white sauce..like a cocktail sauce with other stuff going on. And then I attacked my Burger with the big fat well done beef patty eyeing me off...very delicious indeed ! My wife and I dont usually do lunch at this late hour and we still had a long drive home to Solana Beach. So that meant we could have dessert too. My wife had been studying the dessert card (shaped like an opened block of Belgian Chocolate ) for some time and surprised me with her ultimate choice. The Warm Sugar Tart...served with Coffee Ice Cream was the winner. Tiana the hostess complimented my wife on her dessert selection. And out it came and it was very sweet & very yummy..delicious creamy Coffee Ice Cream. We had a perfect lunch in this Belgian style speakeasy thanks to the amazing manager Pierre, Adele our talented server and of course lovely hostess Tiana. And I have a new Delirium Tremens glass to take home. Great vibe, great food & beer and sensational service !

This was a wonderful experience all around. The restaurant reserved for by our hotel as a part of our anniversary trip was lost by the restaurant, so we were fortunate to find Brussels Bistro thanks to Google Maps!We were warmly greeted by the hostess who sat us near the fireplace in the quieter part in the covered patio, away from the bar.The service was beyond amazing! Our server, Luigi, and the rest of the team took wonderful care of us, including serving us warm delicious sourdough bread while we waited for the entrees that he suggested. My wife had the beef burgonnione and I had the marinated pork shank. Both were out of this world gustatory delights! We were both very satisfied without being overstuffed. Luigi made sure that we had everything that we needed, including great conversation! The evening was capped off with a wonderful chocolate mousse with a sparkling firework on top to celebrate our anniversary, courtesy of the Brussels Bistro. Again, a wonderful experience all around. We wish we had gone back the next night instead of going to the restaurant suggested by our hotel. Thank you again Luigi and your team! We look forward to the next time we visit!

This is a cool little hole in the wall place! during the day they have a little pub/bistro and then late in the evening they open the doors for some house music and a dance floor! the music is incredibly loud so if you have sensitive ears...here is your warning! The DJ was throwing down some tight beats and the dancing was fun. the only con is that they have one restroom and when its crowded the line can grow quite long. Absolutely the best french fries in the world. Other than in Brussels.the US is the only country that calls them French. Everyone else in the world knows that Belgium invented them. If youre into a simple steak, the steak is your best choice. They also have sole fish fillet. If you enjoy mussels, this is also the best place to eat them. They make them in eight varieties so youll definitely find the one you love is in mussels connoisseur. They also have some authentic Belgian beer, if youre into beer oh, this is definitely the place you have to come to during happy hour. If youre feeling more adventurous, and would like to experience real Belgium food, definitely try the other meat dishes. For beer lovers theres a stew made with beer. Of course, you should have company this Stew with a nice glass of beer. The waitress waiters owner also speak French, which is a nice touch. They have great customer service, are polite, friendly, and fast on their feet.During busy times, parking really sucks.if you can find neighborhood parking and Uber it, between friends its only about a dollar not to have to deal with meters or parking lots the charge you more than the Uber trip will cost. Also if youre a fan of soccer, which the rest of the world calls football, this is the place to watch a game.
