Shockingly low price for such an experience! The tickets are full-day passes, so you can come & go throughout the day as you please. One could easily spend 3 hours here. My 3 children (7, 2, & 1) enjoyed it immensely, as did my husband & I. Pace yourself! So much is hands-on. The museum exhibits are designed for a variety of ages. Dont miss the planetarium show at 4:PM! You have to be back there at 3:50 PM to get in. We arrived right at 4 & missed it. We WILL be back!

Downtown Lafayette so its within walking distance of parking and other places to visit. Admission prices are reasonable, staff is very friendly and helpful. Lots of hands on activities and interesting exhibits. Loved the Acadiana 360 virtual reality experience and the big screen that put you in the picture (forgot what the exhibit was called). A must do when in downtown Lafayette.

Well thought out facility on three floors. Admission prices are a bargain with special rates for senior citizens. The always interesting exhibits change on a regular schedule, so check ahead for your favorite interests. The planetarium is a great venue for educating students about the wonders of the universe. The curator is knowledgeable and answers any questions your may have after program ends. Rated five stars for cleanliness.

I would not return to this museum for one reason and one reason alone, the front desk staff. The lady who helped us had to be one of the most disengaged people I have ever come across in a museum. It was shocking. No greeting, no smile, nothing. My kids had a good enough time, but I wont be back.

Might be more worth it with a tour guide or to visit the planetarium. Not a lot of info by the non-biological displays, like the geological and astronomical. There is a very interesting interactive map of the topography of trails near the area, but that would helpful with you when you are actually hiking. Cant take it with you or access it on mobile.

It seems like there are a few exhibits being worked on, so it seems very small, and there were fewer interactive displays than I thought. However, what they do have is pretty cool! Lots of reading, so not great for small kids, but the adults enjoyed it. We werent there for a planetarium show, but well definitely be back next time were in town! Note: currently they only accept cash, so be prepared

We have annual passes to the science museum. Its only $50 for up to 6 people. Well worth the money. They have shows in the planetarium every day, and plenty of things to look at such as how oil rigs operate, dinosaur exhibits, meterite exhibit, animal skeleton and skulls, an insect exhibit called crawl space, and more. They also have exhibits come in a few times a year as well. Check their calendar of events on their website.

Perfect afternoon for my grandsons who were entertained and entranced. Thanked me and hugged me and said, Thank you, Grammie, we had the best time. They loved the virtual reality opportunities, and the planetarium show. They laughed as they shocked each other with static electricity. I loved the History of Space Travel all the way back to Gagarin and the Mercury 7. Inexpensive, well planned museum in modest space. The staff was excellent, friendly, patient, and informative.

4.5 stars, actuallyWe hosted a birthday party here recently. The kids LOVED the Engineer It! exhibit and would have stayed more time if possible. The staff was super friendly and very helpful once we arrived. They provided us a cart for unloading, setup tables and chairs to our liking, and walked around helping the kids at the exhibit during the party.Deduct 1/2 star for being not-so-organized when we made the reservations. It took a couple of phone calls to get everything straight. But for a great price we got a nice room to ourselves for 4 hours, and full access to the museum. Great deal and the kids had a blast. You cant beat that.

I just spent 6 hours here (minus about 30min for lunch at the pizza place a couple of doors down) with 2 of my grandkids (ages 6 and 10.) They loved it! We saw 2 planetarium shows, The Magic Treehouse, and The Sky Tonight. I wasnt sure how the 6yr old boy would do in the 2nd show, which is aimed more at older kids, but the curator, David Hostetter, made it very interesting and he was so engaged he was even answering questions that Mr. Hostetter was asking, and remembering the names of stars that were pointed out. Some of the other exhibits that held their attention for a lot of time were the Virtual Reality games, the robot arms, the Crawl Space (with live insects and other creepy crawlies), and the Nano exhibit (especially the magnetic particles and the block city on a tilting table.) The last thing we saw was a very large TV screen where they could see themselves and interact with dinosaurs on the screen. They could have kept playing with those dinosaurs for at least another 30min, but the museum was closing. We will certainly go back another time.
