The Riv is a must see La Crosse institution. You get to see a movie in a old time Hollywood-feeling theater. The admission price is cheap. And you can order food with your movie. I love this place.

This theater is old and historic-looking. Most of the movies are not new releases. They are usually a few months old. The prices are much less than other movie theaters. They have popcorn, candy, etc like all theaters. They also have pizza, ice cream, beer and wine. They serve the pizza during the movies. This is a good place to bring kids, because the prices are reasonable. They have an old phone booth downstairs by the restrooms. During the Packers season, you can go to the Rivoli to watch the game live.

This is one of my favorite places! The ambiance is something of an old Hollywood/fairytale feel, its rarely crowded, you can have a pitcher of beer and pizza during the movie, and its inexpensive. Its not the cleanest, but its an old building with tons of charm (the bathrooms are worth a visit even if you dont need to go.) The pizza is pretty good, the popcorn isnt bad either, and they even have ice cream. The beer selection is surprisingly diverse, but they also serve wine and mixed drinks. The main theater has all the pizazz; save the screening room (much smaller and low ceiling) for the films you dont need to necessarily see on the big screen. They also have very comfortable (newer) seats in the main theater, while the screening room seats (when last I went) were hard and rigid. The screening room is also not handicap accessible, so if you need accomodations stick to the main theater.

Love this place. GREAT pizza, love that you can prepay for your tickets, order your food, and reserve where you want to sit. Only complaint is they dont have a good clear check in for prepaid people versus people needing to buy tickets and order food.

Great fun place to go and enjoy a movie without the huge crowds of other theaters. Being able to enjoy pizza and a beer at the same time is just a bonus. The only slightly negative thing that I can say is that they dont have a/c so perhaps dont go see a movie when its 90 degrees like me.

By far our favorite theater in the area. Awesome selection of movies for cheap and thats just the beginning! They also have really good pizza (try the Mediterranean or the BBQ!) and a great selection of highly rated beers! The hot wings are unique, not saucy but breaded with a really spicy coating- we get them every time! Plus their popcorn is 10x better than Marcus and uses real butter.

Staff was helpful and pleasant. Great classic venue! Loved having table for pizza & beverages right there - like an amazing home theater with a huge screen. Have been here many times and like all the screening rooms.

The Rivoli theatre is my very favourite. I have memories going there for over fifty years. It has personality that you just cant find in others. While sitting in the chairs, you have a feeling of being amongst the walls in the city of Verona with the twinkling stars overhead while Juliet is overlooking the city from one of the balconies.I love the fact that there are tables on which you can sit your food and beverages to eat while watching movies or football etc.Not only does it have movies for half the price of other theatres, but they have a very extensive food and drink menu at extremely reasonable prices. The food is delicious.The only downfall is they could hire a few cleaning people to come in at least once per week. There are quite a few broken seats; however, will give a pass as they are in the process of replacing them. They had all of the original ones (very small and uncomfortable) a few years ago. Personally, I love the fact that they kept all of the original walls and have not updated as to keep the integrity of the past.Once they hire some cleaners, I would give them 6 out of 5 stars.

Lobby was quite cold. Even the young man working there said their hands get cold but assured us the movie theater areas were warmer. Needs some updating as well. I do like the opportunity they provide which is to see movies the second time around.

Nice theater! They have a full liquor license and they let you eat and drink in the theaters. I especially liked how the hallway to the bathroom is like a maze. Ive had dreams with a similar setting, vaguely disturbing dreams. The movie I viewed was vaguely disturbing too. Overall experience however, not disturbing! A+++ would watch a movie here again.

I really like the Rivoli and hope more people will frequent this old remodeled theater. It is unique and adds charm to La Crosse. My wife Renee & I try to catch a movie there when we have time from our busy schedule. It really is quite pleasurable and their pizza is pretty good. I recommend you go see a show sometime. You wont regret it.

Ive always loved the Rivoli! The prices are what movie theatres SHOULD be charging! Lord knows theatres charge enough for snacks already....I could go to Dollar Tree & purchase at LEAST twice what is charged at theatres!Sorry, but as long as places like Rivoli exist, why would I go anywhere else to see a movie! Im not too concerned about seeing something the moment its out! :D JsThanks Rivoli for keeping prices low enough our family can afford to see a movie on the big screen now & then.

The movie was great. The pizza was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. But the whole place needs a good cleaning! The tables were dirty, with popcorn and containers from previous guests. ALL of the floors need to be vacuumed and/or swept. Bathrooms werent very clean, either.

2 dollar Tuesdays are great! They even give you a free popcorn with every ticket. Plus it is a historical building and its pretty neat inside.

My family decided to take in a movie on Memorial Day since it was raining. Ticket prices were fair but, the consessions were a little high. Our order was forgotten. When it finally reached our table, the food was extremely greasy. As for the theatre itself, very unique. Could have been a bit cleaner. But, we did like the old theatre ambiance.

I love the rivoli for the chill atmosphere and beer and pizza with a movie is always amazing. That said, we saw endgame here and I dont know if they dont have air conditioning or if it was broken, but I was sitting in my chair not moving at all and was dripping sweat from how hot it was. It had to have been 90 in there. Maybe go in the fall or spring or bring a coat in winter since if they dont have AC maybe they dont have heat either. Lol

No A/C so it was warm...hasnt been cleaned in awhile. You buy tickets online then have to go to the back of the line to get drinks and popcorn. Kinda defeats the point of planning ahead. The prices are less expensive but they come at a cost.

This theater is a filthy pit! Will never go there again. What a shame! Filth everywhere, looks like it is never vacuumed or cleaned. No AC so hot and stuffy. Small screen and poor sound system. Stay away!!!

Today we had a great experience. last time we waited over an hour past the show time for the movie to start and had to tell staff because they were unaware. No apologies just an oh thats usually automated .and a huff when i asked for new popcorn because it was cold.

We bought our tickets online, and when we got there, there was a sign that said for prepaid ticket buyers to go to register 1. Well, we kinda? thought we did, but werent sure because the two lines intermingled and a huge movie sign was in front of the Register 1 sign. People were looking at us like we were butting in line, and someone butted in line in front of us. It was just a cluster. We then ordered our refreshments. I asked if they had cotton candy. No...we do not have cotton candy. Well, excuse me for asking. What movie theater doesnt have cotton candy for cripes sake? So, I then asked if the machine I saw on the was in was an Icee machine. Yes, I was told. So, I ordered a large, as cherry Icees are kind of my weakness. As you can see in the picture Ive posted, it is clearly NOT an Icee. Is it a large ANYTHING? The soda next to it is a large soda. Then, I ordered a soft pretzel. Well have to make your pretzel and bring it out to you, so when you go in, come.back out and tell us what table youre sitting at. Uhmm.... OK. There are maybe 25 customers in this entire building tonight, and Im being generous. It took almost 20 minutes to make my pretzel. Really? I just... am, disappointed.

Decent place for the price. Food is ok, nothing great. But it is nice to enjoy a cold beer while watching a movie. The main theater is nice. Big screen, good sound, comfy seats. The screening room is older, smaller screen, sound is ok and seats are uncomfy. But for the ticket prices you cant complain really.

Fantastic homemade pizza. Real butter on your popcorn. Decent drink prices. $2 movies Tuesdays with free popcorn makes for an affordable night with the family.

I love this place! Try their homemade pizza! I strongly suggest the Mediterranean.

Great old building with tons of character! It was a good day with my 15 year old son. He had never been here and enjoyed it a lot.I dont know of many theatres you can have pizza & beer at... but this place has a variety of selections as well as popcorn.Restrooms were clean and unique as is the building itself.The only thing that could have been better here are more secure doors to the main theatre. It was slightly distracting having so many employees coming from counter/ concession area through movie to the movie entry door.Would recommend to others as well as will return to the movies!

I ordered tickets online the day before. When I got there I thought I was 15 minutes early, according to the time on my ticket, turns out they changed the time so I was actually late for the movie. I would suggest not buying tickets before the day you want to go, their times are not consistent.

We went to Ralph Breaks the Internet last night. They were out of large pizzas and only had thin crust. We ended up ordering a medium pepperoni thin crust. Before the movie ended I wasnt feeling well. When we got home my son threw up. Not sure but we think it had something to do with the pizza.

The theater had a good screen with decent audio. The seats left something to be desired though. Good place to go to watch some of the less advertised films. They have a good variety of food available.

The Rivoli really is the best. The prices of the movies cannot be beaten. The snacks and concessions are priced fairly and the pizza is pretty good too.. How could you not enjoy pizza delivered to you during a movie?

Well, just as I was praising the place, we went tonight and waited 50 minutes on a medium pepperoni pizza and didnt even get a Im sorry for your wait, or a Thanks for your patience. WOW!! Im 100% for sure they forgot about the pizza, cause people that had ordered 20 minutes after us got their pizza before us. They couldve said sorry and I wouldve been just fine... they couldve given me a discount or something and I wouldve been a happy camper, but to totally disregard my kids having to wait that long for their pizza is just totally unacceptable!!!When I went back the next time, pizza didnt take as long and we werent forgotten, so overall its a good place to go as long as they dont forget your order!

Awesome place! Go there for sure. It is perfect for a date. The only thing is that there is no AC but is definitely fine even in the middle of the summer. Go to the main theater, the other theater is creepy and not worth it......It looks like a porn theater. But if you are into that type of place go to the little theater. The main theater looks like a castle and is amazing. Super cheap drinks and food. A must stop in La Crosse!!!

Step up the cleaning everywhere you CAN. :DA cheap, non-electric carpet sweeper* would likely do the trick + a few rags n a bit of soapy water in the hands of those you PAY to be there. Take turns! It cant take TOO much time to wipe tables!* The tables & floors should be clean prior to opening! After customers enter the viewing rooms, run the sweeper thru the lobby - its not rocket science! As each movie comes to an end, start wiping tables. Lord knows theres plenty of popcorn spilled inside & out of the rooms.1 person should be able to scoot thru with a dust buster type of vacuum {or something with a hose} between movies. It doesnt have to be perfect, just shouldnt look like 50 toddlers were left unattended with a popcorn machine!During quieter times, 1 person can clean the mens bathroom while the other is available to handle potential customer needs; then switch so the other person can clean the womens bathroom - kindergarten concept, right!?!And PLEASE, wash your hands prior to returning to handle food!Busy restaurants do it; you can too! The Rivoli has been there for as long as *I* can remember! Dont let this wonderful little theatre fall by the way due to these simple matters. :DAnd 1 after thought: leave 1/4 of popcorn bag or bucket UNFILLED & reduce the refills by a quarter! Believe it or not, it will measurably reduce spillage! Mhmm
