Putnams Point

Pretty view and pretty quiet. Could use lawn and a few more strategically placed tables.

This park seems to have a lot going for it. There were people fishing, lots of birds to watch and picnic benches. Anywhere you are in the park has a great view of the water. Im always happy to see a park with a place to use the restroom and plenty of trash cans as well. Overall the park is pretty small, the parking lot is almost as big as the park! At times you kind of feel like your just at a rest stop on the highway. There also was no hand sanitizer dispenser in the portapoty, and I forgot to bring mine. Hopefully I remember to wash my hands before I go bowling and out for food.

Convenient little scenic spot near home..Ample parking, fishing, easy walk to Link River Trail. Good spot to watch waterfowl.

Nice quiet area for local fishing...

Putnams Point this time of year is full of life and color. The birds were busy trying to find food and there was a slight breeze. The most beautiful sight were three teenage boys going to fish link river.

Beautiful 2.5 acre (estimated) space with trees along shoreline. Many birds and even a clean (on 7/12/18) porta-potty. Unfortunately, due to nitrogen runoff (to promote forage for cattle), the entire surrounding area, Klamath Lake included, smells like a sewer.my blog: Wahnfried der Nomad

I like visiting this spot. Be prepared for bugs and sometimes the water stinks. It is a great place to view waterfowl.

Beautiful place

A beautiful place to see the geese and ducks. Its just unfortunate that the City wont use the enzyme that would clean up this once well used lake. To clean up the entire lake would cost a mere $30k every 7 to 8 years, but I guess the kickbacks the Klamath Falls City Council receives from the Klamath Algae Company are worth more than their people they are supposed to represent. Sad, but so true.

Not bad for a few casts

I mean, its a point. Upper Klamath Lake curves around the point and you can see there is a slight current. There are birds. Birds are loud. The grebes do a cool mating dance, but theyre also loud. Theres lots of bird poop around and the grass is yellow. There are 8 parking spots with wheelchairs in them. The water is pretty murky. I wouldnt recommend drinking it. If you like fishing, you can fish there all day and never get a bite. But hey if you always caught fish they would call it catching instead of fishing, right? But the fish are pretty freaking huge. Like huge. But the grass is yellow. I didnt see a water fountain and you dont want to drink the lake because of cyanobacteria in the blue-green algae. There are boats that harvest the algae but you cant see them from putnams point. You can see the Pelican Marina across the water. Sometimes there are sailboats. A few years ago they found a body by the little dam downstream past the bridge. They find bodies here a lot. I mean here in Klamath Falls, not here at Putnams point. Come visit, look at birds and bring water. It really doesnt suck as much as I made it sound. The grass is yellow.

This is an excellent place for bird-watching especially for waterfowl. The fishing is pretty good too.

Great place to teach kids fishing. Awesome sunsets my dogs love being in the water.

Beware of the hornet nest under ground. My wife was walking along and right when she noticed a small hole in the ground a wasp flew out faster than she could think and slammed into her face and stung her. Get lips and cheek swelled up huge instantly.

We tried fishing on both sides of the bridge. Too many snags, kept losing our rigging. Decided not very good even though we saw someone land a big fish.

I didnt catch anything, but I did find a rooster tail and four swivels. Not to bad.

A nice place to sit and enjoy a beautiful view. It is also a good parking lot for access to the link river trail.
