The trailhead sign in just past MM6 on Clover Creek Road off of Hwy 66 going to Keno. Dirt road is in good shape to TH. The trail needs some maintenance. Had six trees down across trail. Nothing that couldnt be navigated. The trail was in great shape otherwise. Wish they would put mileage on the signs at the trail crossings. The lake was very peaceful. Hell, they whole hike was peaceful. The whole loop took approximately four hours. I took the trail to Lake Harriette and came across Clover Creek Cut off. It was about 30 minutes back to the main trail. It is marked with paint on the trees and piles of stones along the trail. Was well worth the hike.
Excellent wilderness area and full of eye candy, absolutely do not rely on google maps. Ample parking with a few turn outs on the way after hitting the dirt road. There is no cell signal or water or toilets.
Nice little parking area to attempt Aspen Butte from an improved trail. No other improvements at trail head so come prepared. No other cars on the day I went.
