My friends and I like the funky small-town look and feel of this place and could care less if its fancy. Its kept pretty clean and you can usually count on getting a good seat at the last minute. The biggest problem is the way the floors slant so that you always have to crane your neck to look up at the screen. Its too uncomfortable for a long movie, but for average length its convenient and a little cheaper than the other places. The floor plan is beyond stupid, though.
Small clean comfortable neighborhood theater tucked away in Kirkland Parkplace. If you need a wet bar or full meals with your movies, pay more and go somewhere else because this isnt the theater for you. But if you want a comfortable experience with the usual amenities, Kirkland Parkplace has what you want.
I love this little walkable theatre! And my friends from Seattle love to come to my place and we ALL walk to the movies. So glad its still here --- and NO commercials!
Very funky seating arrangement that puts you kind of way back on your back. Didnt like it at all. Other than that its an okay theater. But I wouldnt go back unless I heard they changed those seats. Plenty of other theaters around that have less awkward seating.
I much prefer a smaller theater like KPPC6. I know that its older, but its the theater I grew up with. You dont have to pay for parking or ultra-pricey tickets and you get decent deals on concessions. I can always count on a good time at the movies there.
Im going to miss this place a lot. Although its going to come back and its going to become this so call KIRKLAND URBAN, this place is taking a lot of my childhood with it as it closes down. Thank you Kirkland Parkplace Cinema for being the best cinema in the world, Im really sad to see this go, but so long.
I love this theatre. It is clean, the staff is nice, there is ample parking, no lines, good sound, quality picture. What more could one want?
Independent neighborhood theaters. Not owned by a megachain. They also get some movies that are small films, and not made for mass audiences. Love this place!! We are lucky to have it.
Its the only place I will go to see a movie! Love it. Small, cozy, never a problem with parking. I walk in with my own Starbucks coffee and they never hassle me about that. Its a Kirkland, hometown secret, and I can be there in less than 5 minutes from where I live. Ill say it again: If its not showing at the Kirkland Parkplace Cinema, I wont go see it. Lincoln Square Cinema? Oh, please. What a hassle just to even GET there! And talk about ridiculous prices. And crowds. Yuck.Three Cheers for Kirkland Parkplace Cinema 6.And I LOVED their Hitchcocktober fest last year -- as well as the chance to see Bogie on the big screen earlier this year!
Took my wife here on our first date. Heard that they are tearing it down now in January of 2016. SHAME.Going to see the martian tonight for old times sakes.
No lines, free parking, Popcorn in a Paper Bag - not cheap but really good.Ticket staff always friendlyConcession staff also friendly and quickOlder theater but thats ok with me - just hope they include the theater when they get around to developing Park Place hopefully sooner than later.
This theatre has friendly staff, good deals on concessions and real butter on the popcorn. The movies are not as outrageously expensive as at other theatres and the tradeoff is that the theatre is old. Personally, I like it because it reminds me of going to the movies as a kid; it has some serious character. That being said, if you need all the bells and whistles this is not the place for you, try i-pic in Redmond they will roll out the red carpet for you :)
This is a horrible theater. The seats were uncomfortable, and for some reason the back is lower than the front which is the only theater Ive been to that does that. There were no speakers in the back, no surround sound. And you could hear the rumbling and sound effects from the next room. If the movie I saw wasnt as funny as it was, I would have left.
If you appreciate an eclectic mix of art-house, mainstream, and vintage movies in a cozy setting reminiscent of the funky Landmark Theaters in Seattle, you will enjoy this theater immensely. They even serve real butter on their popcorn and (delicious, local) Sirena gelato. We are grateful to have this hidden gem in our stomping grounds. (If youre looking for a jumbo Cineplex Odious experience, this theater is not for you.)
Ive have always loved this movie theater because i grew up growing to this movie theatre, im sorry if its not as fancy as you wanted it to be but its still great. no one really goes to that movie theater anymore but hey less long of a line. it only has like 6 movies because they cant have more. once me and my friend got the whole room to ourselves it was awesome. its not your hollywood movie theater but i will fovever and always love this place. p.s i dont think that the seat are weird at all.
Worst theater ever. Literally the worst. I live 2 blocks away and will travel out of my way to see a movie. Theater is in an old building. The park place building has been in limbo in terms of developers and the city mulling over whether or not to tear it down an build a new shopping area. Because of this tenant improvements and renovations are non existent. The theaters are so poorly setup that some if the seats sit lower than the seats in front of them. Not sure how this is possible, but I literally found myself looking up at the back of the head of the person in front of me. I guess the only time I could see someone go to this theater is if they didnt want to stand in line for a new release (cause no one in their right mind would go to this dump).
Why so old?!
The screens are on the small side, and the chairs dont work very well for small children
Worst cinema ever
