My daughter is going into fifth grade and has been with Connolly for the last 3 years. She absolutely loves it! The owner and staff are so on top of it, very well organized and most importantly care about the kids. When a business has been up and running in a community for as long as they have, you know they know what they are doing. I have found this not to be the case with other studios we have tried. My daughter enjoys her teachers so much and the nutcracker performances are impressive. One nice option I have found here is that the kids can take classes and then participate in 2 performances per year, one being the nutcracker and the other a spring recital. The first half year we joined, we did not participate in the recital, but the second year my daughter did both and loved it. This allows you to ease into it with younger ones to get a feel if they like dance and will be in it longer term. You can start with a class or two, then join the nutcracker and then spring recital. This is what we did and now my daughter joined company because she enjoys it so much. Many dance places are less organized and don’t allow for the full range of options to grow with your child.

I am a dance teacher at CDA and I appreciate how clear the owner, Ms. K, is about setting and communicating standards of quality instruction, music and costuming choice, and inclusion of all dancers whether they have recreational or pre-professional dance goals. The staff and instructors have invested a lot of time in following procedures to protect the safety of in-studio students in time of COVID-19 and continue to offer classes online via Zoom for remote participation. I cant wait to get back in the classroom for the 2020/2021 season. As one of the tap teachers, I enjoy teaching not only steps, but history of the dance, music theory, and tools for improvisation. My elder daughter has always had a passion for dance. We enrolled her at Connolly because 2 of her other friends were already there. What we didnt expect was how much grace and more love for dance she developed.Ms. Sondra is so good with the girls and my daughter has loved learning from her. I would absolutely recommend Connolly to anyone!During the summer and recital season, Connolly did an amazing job at making sure that a recital would still be able to be put on with proper social distancing protocol in place and it turned out to be be absolutely beautiful!!We will definitely be going back in the Fall and once my younger one is old enough, she will also be going to Connolly!

My daughter has danced at Connollys Dance Arts for about 7 years and has loved it. She has had great instructors who she has developed incredible bonds with and have become good role models. I have always been very happy with the dance choreography and music and costume choices. Very age appropriate. They have always been very accommodating and great to work with and in the current situation dealing with the COVID virus I have been very happy with how they have worked so hard to still provide instruction and stay connected to the dancers. My daughter finished out the year doing her classes virtually online and the instructors worked hard at putting together videos for the dancers to view and work with at their convenience. My daughter attended two summer dance camps this summer and I was very happy with the safety procedures the studio had in place and am very excited about allowing her to return to dance this fall.

My daughters love dancing at Connolly! We feel very lucky to have such quality instructors in our area. The studio owner has done a marvelous job in preparing a corona-compliant classroom for students, with marked spaces for social distancing.The girls had a blast in last years nutcracker performance. It was really a great show.

Connolly Dance is a professional, quality dance studio! We have been with them the past two years! I can’t say enough about their teachers. My teenage daughter has taken several classes at Connollys over the past 3 years. She did not join the competition team so I cannot speak to that; however, we feel like she obtained a great deal of technical training at this studio in a safe and structured environment. Communication was really good, something we have not experienced at 3 of the 5 studios shes been part of over her 15 years of dancing. My daughter is now a Varsity member of her high school dance team but I do hope to have the option of drop in for some additional technique training when her schedule allows.

Connolly Dance Arts is a great dancing academy. They teach strong fundamentals while at the same time keeping lessons entertaining and engaging for children. We love this school. It is for any student looking to have fun while being educated in dance recreationally or professionally.My 7 year old daughter participated in the Frozen Camp. During the week of the camp she wouldn’t stop explaining to me how amazing of a time she was having. We had to sign of the next week of camp because I wouldn’t hear the end of it. This is coming from a 7 year old who is not easily impressed.

My daughter has enjoyed every dance opportunity provided this summer! The staff has gone above and beyond expectations. This is our third year here and my daughter is counting down the days for the fall semester to start. She loves her dance family, from her teachers to all her friends. Connolly Dance Arts has been a great experience for my daughter. They have very good infrastructure, good teachers. They do everything to make the kid learn dancing techniques. During the pandemic, the online instruction was amazing. I am very happy with them and will recommend the institute to all.

By far one of the best studios in the area (and my daughter has danced at five!) and one of the best we have experienced anywhere (I think we are at nine total? We move a lot.) This studio has their business practices down pat. Everything is well organized and clearly communicated. This is an underrated quality among studios I have noticed. The instructors are genuinely skilled teachers (not just a bunch of would-be dancers who aren’t cut out for teaching kiddos.) My daughter excelled here much more quickly than she had at other studios. I was truly sad that by the time we found Connolly’s she was too busy with school to dance with their competitive team—I have no doubt our experience with competition dance would have been MUCH better here than it was at another Katy area studio. I could tell just from the informational sessions. The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable about all procedures and practices and there is no such thing as a dumb question. (As a non dancer, I had a lot of them!) I can’t brag on the owner enough. She loves what she does and loves the kids and tends to know them (and even the parents) by name. It is just a wonderful experience and prepared my daughter well for her audition with the Sapphires (she made the team her first try, freshman year!) and she names Connolly teachers as her favorite throughout the years.

Connolly has helped our 4 year old learn the fundamentals of dance. The staff is amazing and they have gone above and beyond during covid to keep communication flowing. I highly recommend them.

Connolly has been our dance home for my daughter for the past +8 years. We have been consistently pleased with the instructors, recitals, summer campa and quality of the studio. Furthermore, the costuming is modest and appropriate for young dancers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the studio has made modifications to keep dancers safe so that they can still practice their love of dance. Highly recommend!

Great place! My little girl was nervous about enrolling in ballet for the first time. They were awesome and made her feel comfortable and confident in herself. Well definitely be back. Note: The precautions for COVID were excellent and they were able to have a safe performance for the kids to show off all they had learned over the previous year! Summer camp was excellent as well.

My 15 year old daughter started at Connolly this summer. So far, she has taken two week-long intensives. She really learned a lot in them and she will be taking regular classes with the studio beginning next month. As a parent, I am impressed with how responsive and helpful the office staff has been. I grew up in Connolly Dance Arts studio when she was located in the West Houston area and now my daughter has the pleasure of being a student at this dance studio . CDA is very professional and the Dance teachers that my daughter has had have all been so nice and great with the kids . Her favorite teacher is her hip hop teacher Mr.Omar and she hopes to have him again this coming year ! I like how they have /are accommodating children that may not be able to physically return to dancing by doing zoom classes as well ! They teach age appropriate dances and use age appropriate music and I would recommend them to anyone that’s in the Katy/cinco ranch or surrounding areas.

My daughter has been dancing at CDA for eight years, and she loves it more and more each year. She has had a handful of CDA teachers through the years and learned a great deal from each of them, both in technique and even ballet vocabulary. Our daughter danced at CDA for the last four years and absolutely loved it! Due to upcoming high school extracurriculars, we arent able to keep her in dance classes. However, she took Ballet, Pre-pointe, Pointe, Jazz, and Lyrical dance during her time there. Her teachers were all very professional and made sure to let us know how she was progressing in each class. I was also very glad when they made absolutely sure she was ready to get pointe shoes. They constantly checked her form, muscle strength, ankle flexibilty, and other anatomical traits I am not familiar with that are required to be able to do pointe. So I was very comfortable knowing she was ready when they recommended it was time to get her some pointe shoes. The teachers love their students and it shows. The recitals they put on each year are so much fun! We loved having our daughter take classes at CDA and highly recommend it to anyone who has children that are interested in taking dance classes.

We are starting our 6th year here at this studio. I have two dancers. The staff are friendly and organized. If I have a question they can’t answer they are always quick to get back to me. I am impressed with my daughters knowledge of terminology and technique. We have danced competitively the last two years and the team does well as a whole. The team has taught my daughter so much about teamwork, hard work, and respect for others. We learn to both win and lose with grace.

I have known Kathleen Connolly since the early 80s. My daughter took dance from her and became a classroom assistant at Linda English Dance. I could see right away that she was not only an excellent teacher of dance but of life lessons, grace, and humility. I moved my business next door to this studio in 1988 and shortly after Kathleen became the owner and the school became Connolly Dance Arts. The walls in this complex were so thin that I could hear every sound that cam...e out of the studio for about 9 hours a day. This being said, I witnessed most the conversations that Kathleen had with parents and students. Kathleen was always kind and caring and had the knack of bringing out the best in every child. The students at the studio were from every ethnic background and every size and shape. I never saw Kathleen treat any person any different from the next person. My daughter danced with this studio until she left for college. I continued my relationship with the studio because I had so much respect for Kathleen and the way she taught and mentored so many young people. Kathleen later moved to Katy and soon it became time for my 3 granddaughters to start dance and there was never a question about who would teach them. I am so proud that they have the legacy of dance and they are making lifetime memories as well as learning the same confidence and grace that I have always seen Kathleen instill in every child that would accept these life lessons. I have known Kathleen well and have never seen an ounce of discriminatory attitude in her body and would never tolerate such behavior in her studio. I am a very proud sponsor of Connolly Dance Arts.

My daughter enjoys participating in the Nutcracker performance, dancing in the recital and attending summer intensives . Took my daughter for a trial class. I found the staff unwelcoming and standoffish. I was also chastised for not knowing to bring socks and tap shoes to a trial class. After the class I waited around to speak to the staff about signing up, but nobody was to be found.

This is a studio that truly believes in teaching the whole child. We’ve been here since the studio opened and everyone is always so kind, respectful, and truly caring.

My daughter has been with this studio for over 8 years. She has been in company for 5 of those years. The teachers have helped her to grow as a dancer and person. They have taught her how to handle success, failure and conflict. They have given her opportunity that she would not have had elsewhere. They stress that dance is supposed to be fun and address dance drama when it happens. They do not stress winning at all costs. We LOVE Connolly Dance Arts and BTW - we are minorities, too.

I am disappointed at the customer service and administration of this place. A company that deals with children should be more sensitive to certain things. My daughter was excited to have her trial class and start her lessons. She was all dressed up and they called to cancel 30 mins prior to the class time stating the class was full. I am highly disappointed and maybe it is a blessing in disguise. If I was contacted, I would have signed up right away. I am not sure why a trial class is even offered if as soon as someone signs up, it takes precedence without any option for the person who signed up for the trial class. This is an absolutely ridiculous policy, especially dealing with small children! I will not be signing up with this school and will not recommend them for anyone!!!

Although the lobby and studio was very neat, clean and in a great location. I was not impressed with the teacher, staff, and professionalism of the studios staff altogether. This was my daughters first time in a ballet class and we were trying out the studio as she has had no professional training, no background in dancing and was very excited to do something new as she is an avid horseback rider and tomboy at heart. Well she is 9 and wanting to be a bit more elegant and we nourish any desire our kids have. I was disheartened by the teachers attitude towards my daughter. I am no softy by any means and do not want anyone to baby my child. My girl is tough, she is strong and independent and when a teacher makes her feel out of place and put down as a first timer, as I explained on the phone that she was when I made the appointment, the instructor should not ever put my daughter down or tell her she is not keeping up or not doing a good job when she has no idea what she is doing. My suggestion is to make a class once a week or month for trial runs or first timers, or have a more patient, kind instructor to help with new comers. Its a shame, I was very excited about the location, the amenities such as the viewing screens, and the eat/shops around the studio. Its a good thing I raised a strong girl and she just brushed it off. Also, when a parent asks how their child did in the class it might be a good idea to not put your hands on your hips and head tilt to the side and say ugh well she did...alright, right in front of her and everyone else. Maybe lift up the new student and make the parent feel good and if there were any immediate concerns such as behavior or distractions pull me aside (which there werent) to speak with me in private. Demeanor says it all. I am so curious to see the email I was promised about the notes she took on my daughters first time ever in ballet. I am glad we did a trial run and grateful I did not sign up or register online before checking it out. It sure does look wonderful but id rather be in a shack with good, humble, down to earth people/instructors rather than somewhere where putting down a little girl on her first ballet practice is something the studio is ok with.

My grandchild was a member of the junior company at Connolly Dance Arts. She experienced bullying from another team member which was not properly addressed. While at a recent convention my grandchild experienced the bullying again. My daughter who was alone tried to address this matter but the response she received from the other parents was unwelcoming and she felt threatened especially when the childs father addressed her and continued to make comments to her after she asked him to back off. My daughter is the youngest of my 7 seven kids. She is also the quietest and perhaps considered the softest and, extremely proper in her mannerism. She called us half crying about how she was harrassed. We could barely make our her words because the music was so loud. Her siblings reacted immediately, being that she is the baby and to them always will be and they headed to the event. My daughter who is extremely against confrontation went out of the event, leaving her child with a stranger to stop them from creating a scene. She begged then to leave and insisted that she only wanted her nephew to stay and just escort her and my grandchild. Her nephew, my other grandchild, is only a few years younger and I raised him as a child so he grew up with her like a sibling, saw her crying and against her request for him to stay in the car because she knew he would be stereotyped as ghetto after her encounter with the parents since he had dreadlocks and had gotten dark from the sun, he got out to console her. He didnt feel comfortable leaving her. He decided to wait on a bench. He heard racial comments about him being there but in respect to his aunt, he kept quiet. My daughter was told before his arrival that both parents would meet and talk and they would go forward as a team. However it changed after her nephew showed up. She never got the opportunity to meet and the owner wouldnt call her back. Instead, she was told her child was no longer allowed loto be on the team. Many lies were stated including that my daughter threatened to call her husband to beat them up. I sat in this studio before a few times. I never felt comfortable. I saw the moms talking about other kids and, also their parents. I also sensed a racial prejudice. I decided not to discourage my grandchild. After living 70 years, I have come to know that ignorance is everywhere and that all you can do is is pray for those who are ignorant. I just hate that she and my grandchild had to experience this. I never preached division nor racial bias . My kids went to multicultural schools and had friends of diverse backgrounds. I have seen the progression over the years towards equality but unfortunately there is always a bad apple among the bunch.

We had a trial class and I absolutely LOVED it. They were so friendly w/ my daughter (2 yr 4 mo.). Highly recommend!

Daughters team was eliminated without explanation. Any child who isnt already an elite dancer has no chance at this place because they only care about the girls who have been there since they could walk. Some instructors are really nice, but they also have a few who ignore girls who, again, havent been there for years. So if your child is under 5, go ahead and join. If not, find someplace that will actually care about making your child a better dancer.

Connolly Dance Arts is more than a dance studio for my daughter Addison...it is her second home. Addison started dancing at Connollys 2 years ago and just completed her first year on the company team. Thank you Ms. Joeley, Ms. Erica and all of the other amazing teachers! My daughter is not only learning dance skills but also discipline, dedication and so much more.

We have been with Connolly Dance Arts for 2 years now. This is our 2nd studio in the Katy area and I wish we had started here earlier. The dedication of the staff to teaching technique and performance to the kids is great. Both my girls are given great attention and respect in class and out of it. My oldest especially has blossomed as a dancer in her time spent at Connolly. I always feel they have the best interests of my daughters at heart in their teaching and in their rules and practices.

I have been going to this dance school for about 6 years now and I am very impressed! My teachers helped me and my dance friends the whole step of the way. Many of my teachers had kind hearts and always complimented us on how were doing. I understand that there are some bad things about this school but I am able to work with it. There was a time where I signed up for hip hop for a year but when we went to the front desk to confirm it they said I wasnt in the class. It turned into a problem but they gave us a solution very quickly! We just signed me up again and bam, I was in class! I would recommend this dance school to anyone with a passion to dance or just wanting to try something new. These teachers and staff gave me confidence for my older life.

Waste of time and money. They charge for clothes and recital and last month fee without notifying you and when you ask them for a refund as you do not want to take part in, they show a small line on their policy and say they cannot make a refund.

WE LOVE Connolly Dance Arts and all the staff!!! My 2 girls have come such a long way in just the few years they have been attending dance at CDA! CDA staff helps fire up the dance passion inside even the most timid of dancers. My girls were so scared and timid when they first started! The patience, love and care from all CDA staff amazes me. Best place ever!

There are so many wonderful things to say about Connolly Dance Arts. The owner, Kathleen, and all of the teachers are very dedicated to the children in teaching them technique while also making it an enjoyable environment. The teachers are adult professionals and knowledgable in all aspects of dance. As the mother of a pre-teen daughter, I am grateful that song choices and dance movements are age appropriate. They also have a wonderful company program for girls that are committed to dance and want to take their dancing to the next level with dance conventions and competitions.Finally, the business side of their studio is well run. Costs are laid out so you can know exactly what is to be expected. I can always get in touch with someone and questions are always answered in a timely manner.

Both of my girls have been a part of the Connolly family for many years. You can scroll down this page and see how Kathleen has helped so many families. She has created a warm environment for kids with autism to learn how to dance. After the hurricane devastated so many in our community, Kathleen opened her doors and raised thousands of dollars for our community. If you listen to Kathleen during recital weekend, you will hear her say every childs name. I just find it amazing that she is able to personally know all these faces and put them with names. On a personal note, I told her that my daughter would not be able to take hip hop because I would not buy another pair of shoes. The very next day, she took my daughter to Dancers Closet and made sure she had shoes to take the class. How many owners would do something like that?The company director, Joeley Fowler, is a second mom to my kids. Joeley hasnt just taught a dance team that is now National Champions, she has helped my kids learn the importance of sportsmanship on and off the dance floor. Its easy to have a good attitude when you win, but how you lose can often say a lot more about a person. When I go to these dance competitions, our dance team stands out. We have a diverse group of girls of all shapes and sizes that are clothed in costumes that are age appropriate. We win with choreography that makes the parents/dancers proud.I am very proud to call this studio home. Thank you, CDA!

Connolly Dance Arts is always at the door greeting dancers and parents. Customer Service is their top priority. Its the best.

Poor administration and customer service. Information you receive depends on who you ask. My daughter was excited to have her trial class and start her lessons and they canceled one day before.

Great teachers, good variety of classes, and fun summer camps...my kids love this studio!

I had a bad experience at this school, my doughter went to go rehearsal yesterday, the rehearsal time is 5:30pm-6:45pm, but when I got MRHS, it was over, I asked them, they said they sent e-mail two month ago, but new e-mail still display 5:30-6:45pm, its such of waste time and money!One year ago, my doughter lost a pair of Nike shoe (almost brand new) at school, I asked them help, they said no.
