My sister who lives in Missoula is SO JEALOUS of our awesome Woodland Park, and wishes they had something so amazing in their town! With miles of walking and biking trails and plenty of picnic areas, the park attracts family oriented gatherings. Theres a very nice water park, plus 2 play areas, one for littler kids and the other for bigger kids, with all the features of any playground, including the slide tube. The enormous water pond brings flocks of ducks, geese and other birds for viewing pleasure. Theres even art in the park, near one of the bridges that connect both sides of this large beautifully green park. Make a day of it!

Definitely a place to go with the kiddos. They can pass a swimming test there and have a sense of accomplishment and pride as well as having fun. A must for the summer fun.

Very nice park. Has a swimming pool, little streams, and lots of birds and ducks. Plenty of shade and grass area. The winning pool has a couple of big slides that look fun. There is a very nice play area for the children. A great family park overall. Good for picnicking too.

Really poor communication.Website, google, and even the sign at the park says they’re open at 12.There is no sign of anyone at all and then when you call the number the it says they are CLOSED for the SEASON?? Please update your website and have accurate information for tourists.

Good place for families to spend a warm summers day, plenty of places to picnic. A big pool to swim in, waterslides and a lazy river.... concession stands, showers, plus family locker areas as well.. Lots of summer activities, plus swim lessons.A fun place, and cost efficient enough to come a few times per month.

Very confusing rules. Our 8 year old swimmer has to take a swim test where he was required to front stroke (with form) across the entire length of the pool. While our 8 year old is a decent swimmer, he has never been taught a proper front stroke. Because he was unable to swim with his feet in the water doing the front stroke across the pool, and needed to come tread water for a moment to breath - so he was forced to wear a life vest for the day - and prohibited from the water slides. He hasnt had to wear a life vest in over two years - he can swim. So, we went to get the life vest, except there were not enough left. Awesome. We then saw a sign that said if his chest was 42 inches, he could go sans vest and use the slides. He missed the 42 inch mark on his chest (pretty arbitrary) by less than 1/2 an inch. We were forced to spend the day in the lazy river - because there were no vests - and didnt have a proper breast stroke (but he can swim. FOR REAL). And finally... there is no shade. It was nut-to-butt crowded on a 92º Tuesday, the kid was forced to wear a life vest, and it was shadelessly nut-to-butt.

Nice little park with ice skating in the winter at the pool. This is a summer park with ponds and water parks and lots of geese and ducks. The restrooms are closed for the winter season.

VERY disappointed. The rules are unrealistic and the lifeguard doing the swimming test expected a professional performance. My 8 year old granddaughter has been swimming all her life but because he wanted it done his way she couldnt pass. I watched and I saw him pass ones that didnt even do as good as her. He passed my 10 year old which left a big ouch between the girls. Drew deflated my girls confidence big time and I dont appreciate it.

Once upon a time spending the day at the pool with your family was fun.......... While Woodland Water park is a decent facility (hardware wise, and staff wise, friendly), it is very obvious that the management of it is very much influenced by the cooperate layers. There is a rule for everything and like others here we had an 8 year old that can swim (breast stroke) but could not pass the swim test the way the layers of Woodland Water Park define swimming. We came to visit from Germany and there we primarily swim breast stroke, or at least that is what a beginner will learn first (even one of the life guard acknowledged that and tired to get the rules changed but to no avail...). I think this was the first time I visited a facility where the kids had to pass a swim test. We went there to have some slide water action fun for our two youngest but all of that was a bust, not worth the 30+ $ we paid for 3 hours. Better off going to a MT lake or Big Sky Water Park, yes the latter is more pricey but at least they know how to manage safety in a way that does not totally eliminate the fun in the water factor. I dont usually give negative feedback but this afternoon was a frustrating one.

Great and reasonable place to take the kids on a hot day. Concessions were cheap, you can bring in your own food, abundant lifeguards who are nice, all in all, a very good experience.Little kids can play in the kiddie pool and go on the lazy river with adults, but not on the waterslides. My 11 year old had to take a quick swim test in order to go on the waterslides which I thought was responsible and fair.Cheap admission: it only cost us 20 dollars for myself, 3, 6 and 11 year old. We will be back :)

We had a little trouble using a pass that didnt have an expiration date but with some negotiation were able to the admitted okay. have a great variety of pools and play areas for different ages and life jackets to accommodate kids who are not swimming successful yet. Wild River floating area is nice just to chill out and waterslides ae fun.

Awesome deal. Just the right size to have fun with the whoel family. Big sky waterslides might be bigger, but you can get the whole family in for an afternoon of fun for less then 20$ that is what I call a good deal. Also a reasonably priced concession.

It has all of the different attractions that one would hope for in a local water park. The regulations are a bit strict for the little ones - while I understand the reasoning behind the rules, it can be tedious to be within an arms length the entire time.

The water park was okay despite the constant closing and reopening of different pool sections. The lifeguards are decent except some who give off a judgemental persona. The waterpark is LGBT+friendly and allows you to use locker room of choice. The concessions are a score since they are not overly priced.

Review №53

The swim test is ridiculous, they not only have to swim the two lengths but have perfect form according to the lifeguard. The lazy river and kiddie pool are arctic - yet if you don’t pass the swim test that’s all kids can do! So we had the choice of a cold pool or colder lazy river. Hugely disappointing. Can’t go on the water slides at all, which if you have younger children you know it’s the big draw.Don’t come if your children are younger than 10-12 and can meet the unrealistic standards.

That is a great place to go on a warm sunny day with your kids if you are visiting Kalispell, MT.The stuff is helpful and friendly, the swim test is required if your child needs to prove he or she can swim in case they want to use the water sides. The only downside is that the food is very bad, so bring your own food and eat it in the parking lot before entering the facility.
