I absolutely love this gym it has everything I need, Its a great environment and from my personal experience I love everything.

Equipment is plentiful. Staff always keeps it clean and I am always treated with respect and patience. Great!!

This Y is just a big daycare center. The only part that is halfway decent is the workout room since children are not allowed. Some tend to ignore that, just like they ignore the sign in the locker room stating that one side is for adults & the other for children & families. They dont have tennis courts & it appears that the preschool has now taken over the racquet ball courts. So unless you are an avid basketball player or like to workout or on the swim team (they have the privilege of using the pool above others, afterall they pay an extra $300 to BE on the team). The bathrooms in the locker rooms definitely need updating. Most events are free to the public, so if you ARE a member just expect to wait in line with ALL guy nonpaying members for the Easter Egg Event, ect. I think the Y needs to re-evaluate the needs of the community & have MORE programs & things for the teens & older people (the ones supplying donations) in our community. Afterall, the Joliet park district among others fulfill ALL the needs for the little kids, while the older children are left in the streets!!! We need tennis courts, outdoor basketball courts, programs for teens/elderly like archery or classes that teach car maintenance, cooking, computers, coding, sewing, pottery, woodworking, basket weaving, carving, turoring, problem solving, lifecoaching, ect. Bus transportation for seniors.

Its great the membership isnt alot and there is also a gym there

I love it. I have swimming lessons there and it is so amazing. All of the staff are so nice. The swimming teachers and lifeguards are great. If you have membership with the Smith Family YMCA you have membership for all YMCAs. All the programs are free or cheaper if you have the membership.
